Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Senin, 22 Juni 2026Bacaan: "Karena itu, perhatikanlah dengan saksama, bagaimana kamu hidup, janganlah seperti orang bebal, tetapi seperti orang arif, dan pergunakanlah waktu yang ada, karena hari-hari ini adalah jahat." (Efesus 5:15-16)Renungan: Manusia memiliki banyak cara menghitung waktu. Kita juga mengenal banyak alat untuk melakukan itu semua, mulai dari kalender, jam, hingga stopwatch. Bahkan sebagian orang mengeluarkan uang berjuta-juta hingga milyaran rupiah untuk sebuah arloji saja. Apakah orang yang memiliki arloji senilai milyaran rupiah pasti lebih menghargai waktu daripada mereka yang melihat waktu hanya dari jam di ponsel? Belum tentu. Orang bisa menghargai waktu ketika ia bisa melihat waktu dengan cara yang benar. Sayang, masih banyak yang melihat waktu dengan cara salah. Ada yang memakai seluruh waktunya hanya untuk melakukan satu hal (misal: bekerja terus menerus, atau berhura-hura tak ada habisnya). Ada juga yang terpaku pada masa lalu. Ada yang hanya fokus pada hal-hal jangka pendek sehingga tidak siap menghadapi masa depan. Ada yang menilai seluruh waktunya dengan apa yang terjadi di satu waktu saja. Jika gagal, ia merasa hidupnya akan selalu gagal. Jika berhasil, ia sombong karena merasa tak akan bisa gagal. Tidak sedikit juga yang gagal menikmati masa sekarang. Daripada menikmati hal-hal yang ada di hadapan mereka, mereka lebih terpaku pada masa lalu ataupun terus mengejar ini itu dengan beralasan semuanya demi masa depan. Satu yang harus kita pahami adalah bahwa setiap waktu adalah berharga. Itu sebabnya kita harus belajar menghitung hari (Mzm. 90:12). Ya, hari, bukan bulan atau tahun. Artinya, hargai setiap waktu, dari waktu terkecil. Setiap waktu adalah berharga, bukan karena waktu adalah uang seperti pepatah dunia. Waktu berharga karena apa yang kita lakukan di setiap waktu kita di dunia ini akan berdampak pada waktu kita di kekekalan nanti. Karena itu, hanya memakai waktu untuk urusan dunia, mengejar kesuksesan jasmani atau ambisi pribadi, tentu tidak bijak. Memakai waktu untuk bersekutu dengan Allah, mengasihi keluarga, melayani sesama, serta juga beristirahat dan menjaga kesehatan, itu yang juga harus dilakukan. Hiduplah dengan fokus untuk melakukan kehendak Allah dalam segala hal, baik itu di pekerjaan, pergaulan, hingga waktu pribadi. Itulah cara bijak menghargai waktu. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa:Tuhan Yesus, berilah aku hikmat-Mu agar aku dapat menghargai waktuku. Sehingga apapun yang aku lakukan semua dapat bermanfaat bagi hidupku saat ini maupun untuk persiapan masa depanku. Amin. Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Minggu, 21 Juni 2026Bacaan: "Cara yang demikianlah diperbuat Absalom kepada semua orang Israel yang mau masuk menghadap untuk diadili perkaranya oleh raja, dan demikianlah Absalom mencuri hati orang-orang Israel." (2 Samuel 15:6)Renungan: Kita sering mendengar peribahasa ada udang di balik baru. Jika seseorang terlihat baik, belum tentu ia benar-benar baik. Kita tidak pernah tahu kalau saja ia punya maksud tersembunyi. Berbuat baik, tapi tidak tulus. Berbuat baik tapi ada maunya. Bukan berarti kita harus curiga kalau melihat seseorang melakukan perbuatan baik. Daripada sibuk menilai dan mencari tahu motivasi orang dalam melakukan kebaikan, lebih baik kita menjaga hati kita supaya tidak melakukan hal seperti ini. Setiap kali kita akan melakukan perbuatan baik, cobalah kita jujur kepada diri kita sendiri, "Apakah kita melakukan kebaikan karena didasari kasih yang tulus, ataukah sebenarnya kita punya agenda tersembunyi?" Absalom itu punya modal yang komplit untuk menjadi pemimpin besar Israel. Punya perawakan yang gagah, elok rupanya, cakap, dan terutama: pintar mengambil hati rakyat! Maka rakyat pun tertarik dengan kebaikan yang ditunjukkan oleh Absalom. Betapa tidak? Dengan telaten Absalom mengambil hati rakyat Israel dengan kebaikan-kebaikan yang dilakukannya. Tidak main-main, "udang itu bersembunyi di balik batu" hingga empat tahun! Betapa telatennya Absalom membangun citranya demi mengumpulkan massa. Begitu mayoritas orang Israel berpihak kepadanya, barulah ketahuan sifat asli Absalom, yaitu ia ingin memberontak dan mengkudeta ayahnya sendiri! Baik tanpa disertai dengan ketulusan itu berbahaya. Cobalah jujur kepada diri kita sendiri, apakah kita tulus dalam melakukan kebaikan, ataukah sebenarnya kita punya maksud tersembunyi? Sebagai anak-anak Tuhan, sungguh tidak pantas kalau kebaikan kita sebenarnya memiliki agenda terselubung. Bagaimana mungkin kita berharap Tuhan memberkati kebaikan yang kita lakukan, jika sebenarnya kita punya maksud yang tersembunyi, terlebih lagi jika kita punya maksud yang jahat seperti halnya yang dilakukan oleh Absalom! Jadilah orang yang baik tapi tulus. Menolong tanpa pamrih. Memberi tanpa berharap imbalan. Murah hati tanpa berharap kembali. Ketika kita tulus dalam berbuat baik, maka Tuhan sendiri yang akan membalas setiap kebaikan kita. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa:Tuhan Yesus, murnikanlah setiap kebaikan yang sedang aku rencanakan maupun yang akan aku lakukan, sehingga semua nya itu aku lakukan dengan tulus hati tanpa ada rencana yang tidak baik di baliknya. (Roma 10:14)Renungan: Shoichi Yokoi adalah salah satu serdadu Jepang yang bertempur di Perang Dunia II. Pada tahun 1944, Yokoi berada di Guam saat pasukan Amerika menyerang dan merebut pulau itu. Yokoi enggan menyerah dan memilih bersembunyi di hutan dengan beberapa temannya. Meski satu persatu temannya pergi atau wafat, Yokoi terus bertahan di hutan itu hingga 27 tahun, tanpa tahu Jepang telah menyerah pada 1945. Ketika ditemukan oleh beberapa nelayan, Yokoi sempat memberontak karena mengira ia akan ditawan musuh (sesuatu yang dianggap memalukan bagi prajurit Jepang). Sampai akhimya ia diberi tahu bahwa perang sudah berakhir beberapa dekade lalu. Saat Proklamasi Kemerdekaan dibacakan pada 17 Agustus 1945, mereka yang tinggal di pedesaan apalagi yang berada di pulau-pulau paling ujung Indonesia jelas belum tahu bahwa mereka telah menjadi bangsa merdeka. Teknologi dan komunikasi masih jauh dari saat ini. Harus ada orang yang memberi tahu mereka. Hingga akhirnya, cepat atau lambat berita tentang kemerdekaan Indonesia sampai ke telinga rakyat Indonesia dari Sabang sampai Merauke. Kini semua rakyat Indonesia telah mengetahui bahwa mereka adalah bagian dari sebuah bangsa yang berdaulat. Demikian pula dengan berita tentang kemerdekaan yang lebih penting, yakni kemerdekaan manusia dari kutuk dosa. Dua ribu tahun lalu, di atas kayu salib, Yesus telah memerdekakan kita dari belenggu dosa. Namun hingga kini, masih banyak orang yang belum pernah mendengar kabar tentang hal itu. Seperti prajurit Yokoi tadi, mereka masih hidup dalam ketakutan, ketidakpastian, dan penderitaan. Ya, inilah tugas kita! Kita harus menyebarkan kabar tentang keselamatan itu kepada mereka yang belum juga mendengarnya. Cukup beritahukan kabar gembira ini kepada mereka. Jelaskan ketika mereka ingin lebih tahu tentang siapa Yesus. Tunjukkan kasih-Nya melalui sikap hidup kita. Mengenai respons mereka, itu urusan mereka dengan Tuhan. Inilah yang Tuhan mau untuk kita lakukan? Tuhan pun berjanji bahwa la akan menyertai kita, yang artinya la akan memampukan kita. Jadi, tunggu apa lagi? Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Jumat, 19 Juni 2026Bacaan: Lalu kata malaikat TUHAN itu kepadanya: "Kembalilah kepada nyonyamu, biarkanlah engkau ditindas di bawah kekuasaannya." (Kejadian 16:9)Renungan: Bisakah kita membayangkan situasi ini? Di saat kita sedang menghadapi pergumulan besar, tiba-tiba Tuhan menjumpai kita melalui sebuah penglihatan. Apa yang kita harapkan dari perjumpaan itu? Tentu saja kita yang sakit, ingin Tuhan memberi mukjizat kesembuhan. Kita yang sedang kekurangan berharap Tuhan akan mencukupkan, bahkan memberikan kelimpahan. Kita yang tidak tahu jalan keluar, tentu berharap Tuhan akan memberikan petunjuk kepada kita. Perjumpaan dengan Tuhan sering dimaknai bahwa Tuhan pasti menjawab pergumulan umat-Nya. Sekarang kita beralih pada kisah Hagar yang pergi meninggalkan rumah Abraham dan Sara karena tidak tahan ditindas oleh nyonyanya itu. Ketika Hagar sampai di padang gurun, maka Malaikat Tuhan menjumpainya. Hagar mungkin membayangkan bahwa Tuhan akan memberikan tuan dan nyonya baru, yang lebih baik dari Sara. Hagar mungkin membayangkan bahwa Tuhan akan membawa ke tempat atau keadaan yang lebih baik dari sebelumnya. Nyatanya bukan seperti itu yang dikatakan oleh Tuhan. Tuhan berkata, "Kembalilah kepada nyonyamu...". Mendengar kalimat ini, Hagar mungkin berpikir kalau Tuhan menyuruh untuk kembali kepada nyonyanya, karena Tuhan akan melembutkan hati Sara supaya tidak menindas dia lagi. Tapi kalimat berikutnya sungguh mengejutkan, karena Tuhan berkata, biarkanlah engkau ditindas di bawah kekuasaannya." (ay. 9). Bayangkan, disuruh kembali untuk ditindas lagi! Mengapa Tuhan menyuruh Hagar kembali kepada Sara? Karena prosesnya memang belum selesai! Tuhan memang mengizinkan Sara menindas Hagar, tapi pada saat yang sama Tuhan memberikan kekuatan kepada Hagar untuk kuat menanggung segala penindasan itu. Hal yang sama juga berlaku dalam hidup kita. Jika memang proses yang kita jalani belum selesai, jangan buru-buru keluar dari rencana Tuhan. Pastikan kita setia menjalani proses itu hingga tuntas. Percayalah kalau waktunya sudah tiba, Tuhan sendiri yang akan mengeluarkan kita dari semua proses itu dan karakter kita pun akan menjadi lebih indah dari sebelumnya. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa:Tuhan Yesus, terima kasih untuk masalah yang Kau izinkan terjadi dalam hidupku. Aku percaya melalui masalah tersebut, Engkau sedang membentuk aku menjadi pribadi yang kuat dan tahan uji. Amin. Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Kamis, 18 Juni 2026Bacaan: Yang hatinya teguh Kaujagai dengan damai sejahtera, sebab kepada-Mulah ia percaya." (Yesaya 26:3)Renungan: Hidup adalah sekumpulan pilihan. Banyak alasan untuk membuat kita tertawa, tapi banyak orang memilih untuk kecewa. Banyak hal yang seharusnya membuat kita tersenyum, tapi banyak orang justru memilih untuk bersedih. Banyak hal yang seharusnya kita abaikan, tapi banyak orang justru mempersoalkan. Banyak hal yang seharusnya mudah dan sederhana untuk dijalani, tapi banyak orang memilih untuk ribet dan mempersulitnya. Banyak hal yang seharusnya kita syukuri, tapi banyak orang memilih untuk mengeluhkan hal-hal yang tidak ia miliki. Jika kita mau merenungkan lebih dalam, sesungguhnya hidup kita penuh dengan kebahagiaan, sayangnya kita tidak menyadarinya. Sebagai gantinya, kita justru memandang bahwa hidup kita seolah-olah hanya berisi penderitaan dan masalah saja. Lupa bahwa di dalam penderitaan sekalipun, kita bisa menemukan kekuatan dan penghiburan dari Tuhan. Pilihlah yang baik, bukan yang buruk. Pilihlah yang mendatangkan sukacita, bukan yang mengundang kecemasan. Pilihlah untuk berbahagia, bukan takut dan khawatir. Semuanya itu mungkin terjadi kalau kita bisa menguasai hati. Menguasai hati untuk terus bersyukur, dan bukan iri karena membandingkan diri dengan orang lain. Bukankah berkat tidak selalu urusan materi? Di saat jiwa kita tenang dan hati kita damai, bukankah itu kebahagiaan yang jauh lebih berharga daripada sekadar kekayaan dan materi saja? Itulah sebabnya untuk bahagia tidak selalu berarti harus memiliki segalanya, melainkan bersyukur untuk semuanya. Seperti halnya sebuah kalimat bijak berkata, "Bukan karena bahagia yang membuat kita bersyukur, tetapi karena kita bersyukur maka kita jadi bahagia." Jika kita mengerti rahasia kehidupan ini, tidak ada alasan untuk kita melupakan segala kebaikan dan kasih karunia Tuhan yang telah kita terima. Bahkan, di saat kita mengalami masa-masa yang paling sulit sekalipun, kita akan tetap merasakan ketenangan di dalam Tuhan. Di tengah badai kita merasakan damai! Apakah kita ketenangan jiwa seperti ini terjadi dalam hidup kita? Marilah kita ubah cara pandang kita. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Rabu, 17 Juni 2026Bacaan: "Sebab orang benar ini tinggal di tengah-tengah mereka dan setiap hari melihat dan mendengar perbuatan-perbuatan mereka yang jahat itu, sehingga jiwanya yarig benar itu tersiksa." (2 Petrus 2:8)Renungan: Satu pepatah berkata, "Burung yang sejenis akan berkumpul bersama-sama. Burung yang sejenis akan hinggap di dahan yang sama." Pepatah ini sungguh benar adanya. Kalau kita amati sekumpulan burung yang berhenti di sebuah dahan pohon, ternyata memang adalah burung yang jenisnya sama. Burung yang terbang secara bersama-sama juga adalah burung dengan jenis yang sama. Bukankah kita tidak pernah menjumpai burung gereja, burung kakatua, burung walet, atau burung elang terbang secara bersama-sama dan berhenti di dahan yang sama? Manusia juga sama. Dalam sebuah kelompok pergaulan, kita juga sering menjumpai hal seperti itu. Manusia berkelompok menurut jenis yang sama. Memiliki tujuan yang sama. Memiliki niat yang sama. Memiliki hobi yang sama. Bahkan, kerap kali memiliki karakter dan tabiat yang sama. Itu sebabnya kalau mau sukses, tentukan seperti apa pergaulan dan komunitas yang tepat. Kita akan sulit sukses jika kita bergaul bersama para pengangguran, orang yang bermalas-malasan, atau kumpulan orang yang tidak punya tujuan hidup. Sebab suka tidak suka, kita akan terpengaruh dan menjadi sejenis dengan perkumpulan kita. Lot adalah orang benar. Firman Tuhan di dalam 2 Petrus 2:8 dengan jelas menyatakan hal itu. Sayang, Lot berada dalam kumpulan orang berdosa. Tak heran jika jiwanya tersiksa karena berada dalam perkumpulan orang-orang yang jahat. Tak hanya jiwa Lot yang tersiksa, tapi lama kelamaan tabiat Lot pun menjadi semakin mirip dengan orang-orang Sodom yang amoral! Hati-hati dengan pergaulan kita. Jangan remehkan hal ini. Jangan anggap bahwa kita bisa berjaga-jaga dan tidak akan menjadi sama dengan mereka. Sehebat apapun kita menjaga diri, sedikit banyak kita akan terpengaruh dengan apa yang kita lihat, apa yang kita dengar, dan semua hal yang terjadi di depan mata kita secara terus menerus. Pilihlah kumpulan orang yang baik dan benar, maka kita pun akan menjadi lebih baik dari sebelumnya. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Mengapa seorang anak minder dan tidak percaya diri? Apakah karena bawaan? Tidak! Karena orang tuanya tidak memberinya semangat dan penghargaan. Mengapa ada anak yang pelitnya luar biasa? Karena orang tuanya tidak pernah mengajar dan memberi contoh bagaimana memberi dan berbagi. Mengapa ada anak yang pengecut? Karena kita selalu membelanya, tidak peduli benar atau salah. Mengapa ada anak yang selalu berusaha cari perhatian? Karena kita tidak cukup memberi perhatian dan kasih sayang kepadanya. Mengapa ada anak yang selalu mengeluh? Karena kita tak mengajarnya untuk selalu bersyukur. Mengapa Hofni dan Pinehas yang adalah anak seorang imam justru menjadi anak-anak dursila? Karena imam Eli ayahnya tidak mendidiknya dengan benar. Imam Eli terlalu lembek, acuh, dan tak tegas dalam mendidik anak-anaknya. Bandingkan dengan Timotius yang hidup dalam didikan iman, baik oleh ibu dan neneknya. Bagaimana cara kita mendidik anak, itulah yang membuat perbedaan, akankah kita melahirkan anak-anak hebat dengan karakter yang kuat, ataukah kita akan melahirkan anak-anak gampang dengan karakter buruk? Jika anak kita bertumbuh dengan karakter yang buruk, pertama-tama yang patut disalahkan bukanlah anak kita tapi justru kita sebagai orang tua. Mengapa? Karena tanggung jawab dalam mendidik anak sepenuhnya ada di tangan kita. Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Selasa, 16 Juni 2026Bacaan: Maka murid-murid-Nya membangunkan Dia dan berkata kepada "Guru, Engkau tidak perduli kalau kita binasa?" (Markus 4:38)Renungan: Ada satu pertanyaan, "Kapan seseorang dikatakan tidak peduli?" Jawabnya adalah, "Ketika ia tidak mau tahu dengan apa yang terjadi, la menolak memahami, ia acuh, dan menganggap orang lain tidak penting." Orang yang tak peduli juga egois dan memikirkan dirinya sendiri. Sikap seperti itu tentu sangat jauh dari karakter Yesus. Namun, Alkitab mencatat bahwa setidaknya dua kali Yesus dituduh sebagai pribadi yang tidak peduli. Mereka yang mengatakan demikian adalah orang-orang terdekat-Nya. Yang pertama adalah para murid-Nya sendiri. Ketika badai menerjang perahu mereka dan Yesus tidur di buritan, para murid membangunkan-Nya dan menyebut-Nya tidak peduli (Mrk. 4:38). Mengapa mereka bisa berpikir Yesus tak peduli? Di mata para murid, mereka merasa Yesus hanya peduli diri-Nya sendiri karena tetap tidur saat semuanya sibuk menguras perahu yang kemasukan air. Di mata Marta, Yesus tidak menganggap penting susah payah Marta dalam menjamu para tamunya itu. Respons Yesus terhadap tuduhan itu memberi alasan sebenarnya. Kekhawatiran (Luk. 10:41) dan ketakutan (Mrk. 4:40) membuat mereka merasa Yesus seolah tidak peduli. Demikian juga ketika kita merasa Tuhan diam saja, ketika kita merasa Tuhan bahkan tidak peduli pada kita. Daripada menuduh Dia, periksalah diri kita. Bukankah kekhawatiran dan ketakutan kita yang bicara demikian? Kekhawatiran sering kali muncul karena kita tidak mengenal Tuhan dengan benar. Karena itulah, Yesus berkata, daripada khawatir, carilah dahulu Kerajaan Allah dan kebenarannya (Mat. 6:33). Orang yang tidak mengenal Allah akan sibuk dengan kekhawatirannya (Mat. 6:31-32).
