Summer Psalms of Ascent - Psalm 124 You're traveling to Jerusalem, and these Psalms are the playlist, the soundtrack you're singing while you travel. Pastor Tim Lien talks about three topics on God that emerge from this Psalm. 1 What if God is Absent (The God Not There) 2 What if God is Present, but... (The God against Us) 3 And then The Bird Who Broke In...
Psalm 19 invites us on a three-part journey: look up to see God's glory in creation, look down to study His perfect Word, and look in to live out His ways. The heavens declare His majesty without words, a constant testimony to His power and creativity. Yet, creation alone can't tell us the full story—only Scripture can reveal God's personal covenant love and guide us into true life. David describes God's Word as reviving, wise, joyful, and enlightening—more valuable than gold and sweeter than honey. Finally, David models humility, asking God to forgive hidden faults, protect him from willful sin, and align his heart and words with God's will. This psalm reminds us that what fills our hearts spills into our lives, and when we regularly lift our eyes, open our Bibles, and examine our hearts, we live a faith that naturally overflows into the world around us.

In this powerful message from the Summer Psalms series, Pastor Ben Marshall walks through Psalm 24, inviting us to consider the character of God through the lens of King David's worship. From the opening reminder that “The earth is the Lord's,” we're called to recognize God as Creator—the one who brings order from chaos. But the psalm doesn't stop there. Pastor Ben explores what it means to approach God with clean hands and a pure heart, showing us that God is also Redeemer, offering grace and salvation not through our effort, but through surrender. Finally, we're led to lift our heads and hearts in worship to the King of Glory—Jesus Christ—who is strong, mighty in battle, and worthy of all praise. Whether in the stillness of personal reflection or the corporate celebration of worship, this message challenges us to seek God daily, submit to His will, and welcome Him as King over every part of our lives.

We learn and grow through the struggles and trials we endure. Consider a child learning to walk or ride a bike. The bumps and bruises of learning are a necessary part of the process. What is true for learning to walk is also true for learning to follow Jesus. What if every pain you've ever faced was simply evidence of something new God was trying to create in you? Join us for Track 4 of The Summer Psalms Mixtape, where we will explore Psalm 69 to see how Jesus' suffering is a model for our own.
