PJ is off playing the 100 Hole Hike (Donate Here!), leaving Andy and Brendan to fend for themselves on this Wednesday edition of SGS. So it begins with a rambling first 10 minutes on the World Cup, Knicks, Kramer Hikock, the Bears moving to Indiana, and much more. Eventually, they get to “Golf’s Longest Day” and the multitude of stories that emerged from final qualifying for the U.S. Open, including Charlie Woods “carrying” the young phenom Miles Russell to Shinnecock. Event of the Week honors had a crowded field to chose from between a national open in Canada, the Curtis Cup, and a Champs tour stop at Wakonda Club in Iowa. LIV heading to CNBC for a pitch, with minimal leverage, and an unclear future, is assessed as a strategy play. Lastly, news covers the PGA Tour officially partnering with the Australian Open and what that means for a global tour. The death of the Rocket Classic in Detroit is also discussed, leading to a few ideas for how the new Track 1 and Track 2 schedule might operate and survive.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Acts 1:4-5 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:1-4 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Fire Fills the empty Psalm 107:9 "For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things." Isaiah 44:3 "For I will pour water on the thirsty land..." Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness..." the ordinary Acts 4:13 "They were unschooled, ordinary men..." 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 "Not many of you were wise by human standards..." to empower witnesses Acts 1:8 "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses..." Acts 4:8 "Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them..." Acts 4:31 "They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly." Acts 7:55 "But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven..." Acts 13:9 "Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit..." Acts 13:52 "And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit." to guide and grow disciples John 14:26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Stephen - Acts 6:5 "They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit..." Barnabas - Acts 11:24 "He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith." Luke 4:1 "Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit . . ." for the worship of God. Ephesians 5:18-20 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Fire fills, the empty and ordinary, to empower witnesses, to guide and grow disciples, and for the worship of God.

Because they feel like emotionally intelligent adults. A grown-up husband and wife couple instead of silly old mum and dad who are old and decrepit and know nothing but still have to pay for everything anyway. If ever you are in need of some you time, Thailand is the place. Here's why. Stephanie Broussard, Director of Social Work at Thyme Care, describes a model of interdisciplinary social support for cancer patients to increase access to medical services and address social, emotional, and financial challenges. Integrated services target family dynamics, social determinants of health, and building trust to drive better patient outcomes. As cancer increasingly becomes a chronic condition, there is a growing need to support the management of long-term physical and emotional effects and use technology to increase efficiency and support the Thyme Care human-focused approach. Stephanie explains, "Thyme Care is really designed to try to integrate and increase access for those navigating cancers. So we believe that in order to serve people really well, you don't take things away, you actually add things. If we can increase access and increase the ability for patients to navigate the health system, then we're able to better navigate their utilization. So we try to increase access through access to an interdisciplinary team. We have nurse practitioners, nurses, even oncologists and primary care physicians on our team, social workers, and lay people who help us make sure that patients can get what they need at the right time. And so it's really about giving patients access to the right services at the right time to improve their outcomes." "We think about how their cancer impacts every facet of their life. And so, we often talk a lot about the financial toxicity of cancer, but social issues that were affecting folks don't just stop because cancer happened. Oftentimes, it even exacerbates those things. So think about family dynamics, think about social determinants of health, like the cost of medications and access, but also all the other things that can be impacted by cancer." #ThymeCare #ValueBasedCare #SocialWorkMonth #OncologySocialWork #MentalHealthMatters #CaregiverSupport #PatientExperience #HealthEquity #OncologyCare #ValueBasedCare #CareCoordination #SocialDeterminantsOfHealth #SDoH #CancerSurvivorship #Caregivers #NurseNavigation #PalliativeCare thymecare.com Download the transcript here

Welcome to the Oceanside Sanctuary sermon podcast, where we celebrate the intersections of Jesus, justice, and joy. In this week's episode, co-lead minister Jason Coker kicks off a new teaching series: The Spirit of Action. Focusing on Acts chapter 2 and Pentecost Sunday, Jason explores the ancient imagery of God's power represented as wind and fire. He challenges listeners to see the Holy Spirit not as a consuming, destructive force or an exclusive club, but as a boundless power that burns away the social constructs dividing us. Through personal reflections—from childhood memories of the fierce Santa Ana winds to a poignant interfaith encounter at a local Islamic Center vigil—Jason highlights how God's uncontainable Spirit seeks to empower all people. Tune in to hear how this power helps us overcome barriers of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and religion so we can truly love one another and enhance human flourishing. By William Paz - In John 20 and Acts 2, the gift of the Holy Spirit was given to the followers of Jesus in ways that illustrated this profound truth: God never sends empty people. He fills them first.
Message from John on May 24, 2026
God's consistent modus operandi throughout history is to occupy and transform the dark, formless, and empty spaces of the human experience. The Holy Spirit refills barren lives and dead dreams with resurrection power, redeeming every past disappointment and empowering believers for their daily purpose.

(00:00-23:28) – Greg Rakestraw opens the show by pointing out Jake is at the rookie celebration before calling this the “receding hairline” version of the show with Caleb filling in for Eddie. He previews the guests lined up for the show before a discussion on Indianapolis being ranked as the third best sports business city. He talks about how Indy has become the epicenter of sports in a lot of ways. How should Pacers fans feel after watching the Spurs and Thunder play last night? How do they stack up the teams in the western conference? (23:29-40:32) – Greg touches on an ad he heard while doing qualifying this weekend and how it relates to JMV’s show and how young the San Antonio Spurs starting lineup is. Then, he gets into the Colts schedule to release video and commends the Colts for poking fun at themselves. (40:32-47:13) – Greg touches on the actual Colts schedule and why we should be more worried about what’s in their locker room rather than what’s in the other team’s locker room. (47:13-1:15:15) – ESPN’s Stephen Holder joins and Greg hits him with a sarcastic breaking news alert about a start time for a Colts preseason game changing. Stephen then talks about how the Colts prefer a late-bye week and how teams are going to have to make that decision in the future. Plus, what is the safety position looking like and what do the Colts still need to add? (1:15:15-1:27:51) – Two-time Indy 500 champion Al Unser Jr. Joins to reflect on his win in ‘92. He talks about not having an Andretti, Foyt or Unser racing in the 500 this year, his mentors growing up, what his week looks like before race week and who he feels like has a real chance to win the Indy 500. What comes to mind when he thinks about Alex Palou? (1:27:51-1:34:23) – Clustertruck is here with their delivery, we take a caller who has a question on high school NIL and Greg opines on where things go from here. (1:34:23-1:57:47) – Scott Agness from Fieldhouse Files was in the pits during Indy 500 practice and he talks about what it was like to have qualifying crammed into one day. Then, he was at Indiana Fever practice this morning and reports on Aliyah Boston, who is trying to return from an ankle injury she sustained in the Unrivaled league this winter. How is Caitlin Clark playing, his thoughts on game 1 of the Western Conference Finals last night and how the Pacers could matchup with each of them. Who could be targeted in the offseason for the Pacers or will they stand pat? Greg runs through the responsibilities of everyone in the 500. (1:57:47-2:08:27) – Greg talks about some sports controversies in hockey and in English soccer before JMV joins a segment early for the crossover! (2:08:27-2:21:50) – Today’s show ends with a replay of our conversation with Al Unser Jr.! This week's episode of the Dan Caplis Show is a must-listen for anyone concerned about the safety and well-being of children in Jefferson County schools. Lindsay Datko tackles several critical issues, including a disturbing safety audit that revealed alarming threats on student accounts, a dad's shocking experience with his child's overnight trip, and a deeply concerning case of a student being falsely declared homeless under the McKinney Vento Homeless Act. The episode delves into the details of a recent safety audit that showed a staggering number of threats on student accounts, and how the school district tried to keep this information from the public. A Jefferson County dad shares his harrowing experience of being a chaperone on an overnight trip where he witnessed transgender students sharing hotel rooms with the opposite sex, and how he was left feeling uneasy and concerned about the lack of parental notification. The show also explores the McKinney Vento Homeless Act, a federal law meant to protect homeless students, but which has been misused in Jefferson County schools to deceive and sever families. The conversation also touches on the importance of parental involvement in their children's education, and how schools should not be making consequential decisions about a child's care without parental participation. A private investigator and paralegal joins the show to discuss the alarming number of students being falsely declared homeless under the McKinney Vento Act, and how this can lead to family separation and exclusion from the process. If you're concerned about the safety and well-being of your child in Jefferson County schools, this episode is a must-listen. Have you ever come home from a social event, a lunch, a phone call with a friend — and felt more drained than when you left? That's not introversion. That might be your nervous system telling you something important about which relationships are feeding you and which ones are feeding on you. Not all social interaction is created equal — and for midlife women, learning to tell the difference is a genuine health skill. Courtney introduces the concept of relational discernment and the post-interaction check-in, a simple practice that helps you stop spending your energy by default and start investing it with intention. Dementia doesn't wait for the “right time,” and neither can we. I'm coming to you from Alter 2026, where Dr. Fayron Epps and her team turn a dementia summit into a real community experience: caregiving conversations, research access, faith-led support, and yes, enough joy to keep us standing when the topic gets heavy. We get into what makes Alter different, starting with the big idea of training the faith community to understand dementia and Alzheimer's so they can take accurate information back to their churches. We also talk about the complicated truth behind clinical research and why so many of us hesitate, with history like Tuskegee and Henrietta Lacks still sitting in the room. Then we flip the question: if we're not represented in the studies, how can anyone build the right precursors, parameters, and treatments for our bodies? You'll also hear why the Youth Summit matters for ages 12 to 24, because too many young people are quietly caregiving without the words, science, or support to make sense of what they're living through. We push brain health as both prevention and power, from sleep and daily habits to food choices that stack the odds in your favor, plus a taste of my hosting set and on-the-ground interviews with partners like Pastor Janet and Herb Caldwell of the Mama Joe Project, streaming on PBS.If this helped you feel less alone or more ready to act, subscribe, share it with your village, and leave a review so more caregivers can find us. Paul Halpern describes how inspired by a horror movie's looped narrative, Hoyle developed the "Steady State" theory, proposing a "creation field" where matter continuously fills gaps as galaxies drift apart. A major breakthrough occurred when Hoyle predicted a specific energy state for carbon-12, explaining how life-essential elements form in dying stars. Gamow conceptualized "Ylem" as the universe's original substance, though he disliked Hoyle's derisive "Big Bang" nickname — a debate culminating in 1964 when Penzias and Wilson accidentally discovered the cosmic radio "hiss," providing definitive evidence for the Big Bang.
