The tune for this song is the Scottish air ‘Ae Fonde Kiss,' and the Psalm acts as a benediction prayer. Asking God's gracious blessing on all people and all nations, it also recalls God's kindness and sustaining presence and asks for God's face to shine on us all.Continue your reflections with the accompanying journal, which includes further questions for reflection and some invitations to prayer and practice.Paid subscribers receive a free journal PDF, or you can purchase a paperback versionVisit the Celtic Psalms website for scores/books, mp3s, CDs, and videos for May God Be GraciousFind out more about the Habits for the Spirit course: an 8-week online course exploring habits and daily spiritual practices to promote wellbeing in body, mind, and spiritFollow Kiran's monthly reflections on Bless My FeetPsalms for the Spirit is a reader-supported publication. "May Your Face shine upon us."
"Our Missionary God" (Psalm 67) David Miller, Pastor of Membership and Missions at McGregor Baptist Church, preaches through Psalm 67, an ancient harvest song that Israel sang while bringing in crops from the land God had given them. But the psalm is about more than the harvest. It is about the reason God blesses his people at all. The requests in verse one, drawn from the priestly blessing of Numbers 6, are made with a clear purpose in verse two: that God's way would be known on earth and his saving power made known among all nations. That purpose runs all the way back to God's promise to Abraham in Genesis 12, and it runs forward to the church today. Pastor David works through three movements in the psalm: the requests of God's people, the reasons behind those requests, and the results that follow. Along the way, he addresses why God's people have reason for joy, why his governance brings gladness, and what it means that salvation is not just transactional but familial. The sermon closes with a direct, pastoral challenge: if God saved us, he saved us to send us. Join Derek as we look at Psalm 67, a song about God's salvation for all peoples to the ends of the earth. DEVOTIONABLES #936 - Let All the Peoples Praise Him Psalm 67 G-365 Devotionables is a ministry of The Ninth & O Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. naobc.org
Psalm 67 asks God to be gracious to us and bless us - not only for our own benefit, but that ALL may know our good and gracious God who is worthy of praise.
This sermon, centered on Psalm 67, presents a profound call to prayer for global revival rooted in God's sovereign grace and the church's corporate blessing. It emphasizes that God's salvation of the nations—historically prophesied and now fulfilled in Christ—flows from His blessing of His people, not from human effort, but from His undeserved mercy. The prayer for revival is not merely for external transformation, but for a deep personal renewal: a longing for communion with God, for the 'face of God shining' upon His people, and for the church to become a living testimony of His grace. The sermon underscores that true revival begins with the church's own spiritual awakening, as believers are called to be salt and light, reflecting God's saving health in their homes, workplaces, and communities. Ultimately, it envisions a reconciled church where Jews and Gentiles, from every nation and people group, unite in worshiping the Lamb that was slain, fulfilling God's eternal purpose of gathering a people for His name.

While man-made religions all try to glorify the followers and originators of the religion they promote, Christianity stands in stark contrast, for it is evident that the disciples were absolutely clueless when it came to Jesus and His teaching. Time and again, they record their confusion and ignorance, all the while elevating Christ and His wisdom and power. In today's reading, Christ teaches on the character of His disciples and how they should behave, including humility, forgiveness, discipline, mercy, devotion, gentleness, and the nature of possessions. In our reading today, Moses outlines the blessings and the curses that will fall upon Israel: blessings if they keep the covenant of the Lord, and curses if they abandon the Lord's covenant. Keep in mind that these statutes include prescribed ways in which Israel can repent of sin and execute justice. To reject the statutes and ordinances is to reject a good God who loves His people, denying that His ways lead to prosperity. Israel will serve as a witness to the nations about the Lord and His power. If they obey Him, the nations will see God's kindness and provision. If they reject Him, the nations will witness the devastation and ruin of those who forsake His goodness and grace. Deuteronomy 26 - 1:04 . Deuteronomy 27 - 5:09 . Deuteronomy 28 - 10:41 . What do you think is the central point of this little psalm?
Send me a Text Message! As we enter the holiday season, I just want to focus for a moment on the word, bless. Psalm 67 uses that word alot. "May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us." "God our God blesses us. May God bless us still." I'm sure that they aren't the only ones who use the phrase, but a family that used to attend Calvary, the Norwood's are the first ones who I heard use it, --BBB-- "Blessed Beyond Belief." It's not a bad phrase to carry around in our hearts as we make our way through the Christmas season, as we shop and sing and bake and eat...and eat...and eat...It's a good thing to be reminded that in so many ways that don't require a credit card or a receipt, we have been blessed beyond belief. In this episode and the next I just want to give us a pause for gratitude!
What is blessing for? Psalm 67 shows us that God blesses his people not as a reward, but as a gift meant to flow outward in praise and service to the nations. This message explores the dangers of blessing without gratitude, the call to global mission, and the grace that makes blessing possible. In Christ, God's mercy flows as far as the curse is found.
Psalm 67 - Speaker: DV - To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. A Psalm. A Song. May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, Selah that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations. Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you! Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the peoples with equity and guide the nations upon earth. Selah Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you! The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; let all the ends of the earth fear him!
What if God's blessing was never meant to stop with you? Psalm 67 reminds us that every good gift from God comes with a purpose: that His way would be known on earth and His saving power among all nations. In this message, Pastor Spencer shows how worship and mission go hand in hand. God blesses us so we can bless others, and as we live sent, the nations are glad and sing for joy.
