Omar is a gifted podcast host and public speaker who has owned and operated businesses for over 20 years.  He moved to Costa Rica in 1999 at the age of 29 to launch an online business where he met his wife and started a family.  Omar was also introduced to cocaine and to the wild night life party culture of Costa Rica. By 2003 Omar lost his wife, his business and almost his life.  That same year his daughter was born and so was his new found reason for living.  He vowed to himself and to his new born baby girl that he would do whatever it takes to get clean.  On May 25thof 2003, Omar took his last drink and has been clean and sober ever since. Omar has over a decade of experience in 12 step recovery and throughout this time has been coaching and mentoring recovering addicts.  He guides them through their recovery and introduces them to a new way of living. In 2013 at 10 years clean and sober Omar met and married the woman of his dreams and with her loving support launched The SHAIR Podcast in 2015. SHAIR stands for Sharing Helps Addicts in Recovery and it was that mindset and philosophy that empowered Omar to get clean and change everything in his life.  Every week The SHAIR Podcast broadcasts amazing life changing stories from addicts and alcoholics all over the world who share their inspiring journey into recovery.
