Yesterday I reversed my brother's car into a bollard in a parking garage. I was furious at everyone, myself, the government, the bollard. When will life be easy? Maybe when I let it be easy. Whatever, things are actually going great. I have a girlfriend now! For the next few weeks, until she leaves the country to move to the UK. Waaaaaah! The way you communicate with people is part of your art. For people who have never heard your music, it's the start of your art! If you make depressing music, send your fans a dark black announcement that's depressing just to look at. If you are an “in-your-face country-metal-speedpunk” artist, have the guts to call a potential booking agent and scream, “Listen you crazy dirtbag! Book me or I explode! Waaaaaah!!” If they like that introduction, you've found a good match. Set the tone. Pull in those people who love that kind of thing. Proudly alienate those that don't. There's a minimalist classical music composer whose emails to me are always just one provocative thought. Like when I posted something online about being an introvert, he emailed me just one sentence: “Are we not ever-changing, both gradually and per situation?” That's it. No greeting or closing or manners in-between. His communication style always makes me smile, and reminds me of his music. The gentle new-age artist always calls me “sweetie” and reminds me to nourish my soul. The surf-music artist always uses the Hawaiian greetings “aloha” and “mahalo” when he emails, along with other surfer slang. The rebellious punk never calls me by my name, but instead just says, “Hey sellout.” Be different. Show who you are. It gives people's lives more variety, too.

Welcome! Today we are reading I Corinthians Chapter 3. Wondering just who knows all about this in the Spirit stuff? Paul explains that when he came to the Corinthians, he couldn't speak to them like people in the Spirit because they weren't. They were like little babies who weren't ready to eat their mashed peas. Waaaaaah! Bad news though: they're still just sitting there like tiny babies crying in their high chairs. They're living in the flesh, not living in the Spirit. It just means that as long as they keep arguing about whom to follow, they're acting like boring old human beings and not like people who have been transformed by the Spirit of Christ.  They're all serving the same God. Paul might have been the one who planted the seeds, then Apollos stepped in to water them, but it was God who made the plant grow. Paul laid the foundation and Apollos took over the building process after he left. The builder gets to build however he wants, but he still has to fit his little house to the foundation. They do need to be building on that spiritual foundation that Paul left. It's that or the fire is really gonna get you.  Paul tells them, you guys are God's temples because God's Spirit is in all of you.  Well, for starters, you shouldn't be destroying God's handiwork. If you do, the Almighty is gonna get you. Please don't lie to yourselves. Don't try to raise yourselves up and be smarter than everyone else. Instead, the Corinthians should want to be stupid.  Well, God has a hard time reaching people who think they know everything, but stupid people? They're like a blank slate that God can write his name on. We're guessing after he writes it he draws little hearts around it. So again, don't brag about who you're following—Paul or Apollos or Cephas. Everyone belongs to God in the end. Thanks to shmoop
