More than nine years ago, I received at the door of my home in Argentina Martina´s amazing Decals directly from Italy, which I pasted in my computer: TRANSLATOR AT WORK - These were the words imprinted whenever I travel, go to a cafe store or just move around while working. Martina is a creative spirit. She is the CEO and founder at The Action Sports Translator. After starting her career in marketing translation in 2010 and launching a successful software localization agency a few years later, she was horrified at the quality of multilingual content in the outdoor industry and started TAST to fill a clear gap in the market. TAST is the world's first and only full-scale translation agency for the outdoor industry, providing brands with a sports translation service that truly gets them. She is recognized as a localization industry influencer multiple years in a row and co-founder and localization manager at Protect Our Winters Italy. Thanks for all your high-standard contributions! In this conversation, she shares her passions, her processes, and the way life unfolds for her career. She needs movements, changes to feel motivated. Martina is a digital nomad in love with her business and her life. And it shows! We have to deeply understand customer emotions and perspectives. This is an imperative in today´s world. In the book Thinking Fast and Slow, the author and economist Daniel Kahneman found that upwards of 90% of human decisions are guided by emotions over pure logic. Martina emphasizes that this is also very depending on culture. Language and culture have to live very well together for messages to motivate and inspire the reader. How video subtitling came into her business? The way she began working with that and the power of a team! She supervises many people, almost 21, all online, working from different parts of the world. Please listen to this episode and learn more of this fascinating guest! Thanks Martina for making time to talk to us today! This episode features a conversation with Simone Salvo, Creative Director at Third Act, an organization harnessing unparalleled generational power to safeguard the climate and democracy. It was recorded in June 2024.Simone's work blends design, media, and technology to bridge generational and digital divides and drive impactful social change. In her role at Third Act, she leads the charge in building an accessible technological infrastructure for a powerful elder-led climate justice movement, amplifying the progressive activism of Americans over sixty, under the guidance of environmentalist Bill McKibben.Previously, Simone was Head of Creative Communications at the Magnum Foundation, serving a global network of social justice-focused image makers, as well as committing herself to a research and communications fellowship at Human Rights First, a non-partisan organization working to right human wrongs. She's also an adjunct faculty member at the NYU-Tisch Interactive Telecommunications Program, where she teaches courses on memory and immersive media, where her focus is on leveraging technology to enhance storytelling, rather than the other way around.Amongst other things, Simone and I discussed the practicalities involved in engaging older adults on the climate, the enormous, largely-untapped structural power that this demographic brings to the table, and the unique ability of legacy to motivate people to take action.Additional links: Visit the Third Act websiteDiscover the Summer of Heat campaignRead Bill McKibben's article, “Photo editors get lazy in the heat”Watch as a 100 year-old woman gets arrested on her birthdaySee that photo of Dorothy Day and the Farmworker Movement

Episode 5: Why STL & BGMC?Show Notes:Speed The Light and BGMC are one of the most important components to discipleship for our kids, youth, and young adults!Missions Is A GREAT Discipleship ToolWhen we teach missions generosity and missions support to our students we are helping develop a passion for the Great Commission while at the same time helping them see that the world doesn't revolve around them. Many students who learn generosity in kids church, are generous students, who become generous adults. No just with their treasure, but their time and skills, too!Speed The LightSTL is the missions arm of the Student Ministries of the Assemblies of God. This is our way to help with Creative Communication and Transportation within our fellowship to support missionaries and missions organizations.Traditionally, this was seen as vehicles, donkeys, bikes, mopeds, or any form of travel that helps our U.S. & World Missionaries reach their community! It's not just a means of getting from “Point A to Point B”… it's a means of delivering medical supplies that could be life-saving to a community. It's a means of helping transport bibles to a people that have never seen one before. It's a means of serving the community around them that ultimately points back to Jesus. Speed The Light helps organizations like:F.R.E.E. International - helping with units to meet the physical needs of those being recovered from Human Trafficking. Convoy of Hope - suppling 18 wheelers that will cary much needed supplies and food into disaster areas. World Serve - meeting the needs of major water crisis' in countries that don't have access to clean water. STL also helps with Global University and helping church plants, education, and various other projects in sensitive countries that are finding creative ways to communicate the gospel. We supply many needs for church plants and higher learning to help them practically share the good news of Jesus.Of course, we also help our Mississippi Missionaries with any needs they have as they are trying to reach their community… whether here in the U.S. or around the world! It is often said that the first vehicle an Assemblies of God student buys is one for a missionary. BGMCBoys & Girls Missionary Challenge can be simply defined as “Kids Helping Kids”! The famous Buddy Barrel is a unique tool that kids can use to help collect “Coins for Change” and raising support to help meet the critical needs of missionaries all around the world. Right now we have an incredible project to help pastors in sensitive countries go through school, get a degree, AND plant a church, for only $100!Teaching missions generosity is one of the greatest discipleship tools we can use to help children see the world as Jesus sees it and provides an opportunity for us to meet those needs and help instill principles that will truly be life changing.Final ThoughtsMissions is not just something we do - it's who we are. It is the foundation of our movement in the Assemblies of God! We will always prioritize meeting the needs of others and helping support our heroes of the faith - our U.S. & World Missionaries… especially our missionaries from Mississippi!Podcast Resources: Instagram: @msnextgenWebsite: msnextgen.comFacebook Group for Leaders: https://www.facebook.com/groups/msnextgenleaders/

They tend to get way into the weeds and the rest of us go, Huh? Because we're so unsure about what it is that they actually do. And in that part of the communication piece is very important, because their websites might have all the right colors, but I'm looking at it I'm going ‘I don't really know what you do, or what sets you apart'. So, in a large way, it's those tech entrepreneurs that I really tend to work with the most. But anybody who feels that their industry is boring, or they feel like, I don't know, nothing makes me different. Those are the kind of entrepreneurs that I really like to work with.
