Messages from Parker Hill 3D Student Ministry
What happens in secret can cause separation.
Honoring God with your body now paves the way to intimacy later.
What happens online doesn’t stay online. Questions from Small Group:If you had to live the rest of your life with only one piece of technology (phone, tablet, TV, computer, video games, etc) what would you choose? Technology is pretty awesome. But, like we talked about today, it can be an easy way for us to make some bad choices sometimes. Can someone summarize what we talked about today? In what ways do you think people act differently online than in real life?In what ways can out online lives affect our real lives?Since we believe that our bodies belong to God, how should that affect the way we think about sex & technology and the way we treat others? When it comes to technology, what can you do to "run from sexual sin" this week?

The walking dead have no hope apart from the cure, Jesus Christ.
Our job is that we get to be the ones to share the Good News, the Gospel.

Memorizing Scripture makes you stronger.
Getting healthy requires extreme measures.
Focus on you before you focus on who.
Your perspective is your pick.
Control your obsessions or they will control you.
God's design for sex is better than the world's design for sex.
Dating is great, but thinking is better.

Sin is not just the actions we do, it's who we are apart from God.
The entire world needs Christmas. The Christmas story is full of remarkable moments. But did you know that the Christmas story really kicked off about 2,000 years before the birth of Jesus? This week, we’ll take a look at what happened in those years—the promises, trials, and victories—that all pointed to one thing: The world needed Christmas.
Focus on fixing you. Every family has a climate—a mood you can feel almost right when you walk in the door. Have you ever stopped to consider how you might be contributing to it? While we don’t always have the power to change the climate in our homes, we do have the power to change what we bring to them. As Paul shows us this week, it all starts by focusing first on fixing ourselves.
God uses fractured families. Sometimes we can think any level of dysfunction will disqualify our families from being used by God. But God doesn’t think so. In fact, just as He used one of the most dysfunctional families in the Bible, God can use any fractured family—even ours. There is hope, because family matters.
Ask God to change your mind in the moment. We all have bad habits and thought patterns, and it’s SO frustrating when we want to change, but we can’t seem to get unstuck. Real, lasting change is difficult. Often, we feel guilt and shame when we’re stuck, so we hide our bad habits from others. So how do we move past these bad patterns and get unstuck? In the book of Ephesians, Paul wrote to Jesus’ followers about how true change takes place in our minds. It starts by thinking “right,” and right thinking equals a changed life. But it’s not just about having a new thought; it’s learning to make a pattern of action from that thought. Getting unstuck doesn’t happen overnight. Changing our thoughts takes practice and perseverance, but right thinking over time leads to a changed life. This week, we will be talking about habits.
This isn't as forever as it feels. Sometimes feelings seem like they’ll last forever. When we’re stressed out, upset, angry, or sad, it’s hard to believe we’ll ever be able to feel differently. This week Solomon—the wisest guy who ever lived—reminds us that with God’s help, we have the power to get our minds and emotions unstuck. So, how do you "snap out of it" when you are in bad mood?
You're not as stuck as you think you are. In this series, we’ll discover that God’s heart is for us to live free from the things that keep us stuck. We’ll see that God has the power to get us unstuck and move us forward in the story He’s writing for our lives.
One of the most recognizable Christian songs, within our culture, has to be "Amazing Grace". Take a look at the lyrics and ponder the significance of God's grace in your life."Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me.I once was lost but now I'm found. I was blind but now I see.’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appearThe hour I first believed.Through many dangers, toils and snares,I have already come;’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,And grace will lead me home."This song is so rich with truth. Today's version of this song has to be "Death Was Arrested. The chorus says: "Oh, Your grace so free, Washes over me, You have made me new, Now life begins with You. Its' Your endless love pouring down on us, You have made us new, Now life begins with You." There is really only one way to understand salvation and that is to understand God's grace.
We are saved by faith that leads to good works. In the Bible, faith caused people to do a lot of things that didn't make sense to the world. But what exactly is faith?
This week we look at the truth of Christ Alone. Jesus says that He is the way, the truth, and the life, but what does He mean? What is He the way to? What truth is He talking about? What is the life He mentions?
We certainly need to change with the times on many things; however, what we can not change is the truth of our message. The Bible must remain as the driving source of our daily life, and the highest authority in our personal walk. This week we're discussing the truth of the Bible and its effect on our lives.
There is no life without light, and no light without Jesus.
