My name is Cooper, Cooper McAlester. Known as simply Coop to most, I started this little podcast/blog shindig the day I graduated from college as a sort of journal exposé of my journey chronicling my adventures in the next chapter of my life.
Tiny dick, but hugeeee ass balls. Massive balls...
No, I have not been wearing a mask.
Didn't even edit this one, but wanted to get it up before I hop on a jet plane to go catch corona.
We're all gonna die.
don't even know what this one's about
So was going through and editing a bunch of clips, and stumbled upon this gem. Unintentionally recorded a sesh of me shooting the shit with one of my buddies whom we call Boner. Original, I know. Anyway, this is us drinking a few beers, watching a few fights, and cracking a few jokes. Completely unscripted, most likely was trying to upload the recordings that were already on my phone to free up some space and accidentally started recording this one, which is why it's so short. Who knows. I was drunk alright.
Beer & Almonds w/ Cooper Mcalester & Q-Tip from late January 2020.
Forewarning: there is absolutely zero comedy in this podcast. No, rather I document a trip down memory lane, an old dirt road of time if you will; on a visit to my home town several months ago. I think about life and the passage of time, the changing of a year, a decade, and a generation. This is a topic that constantly preoccupies my mind. Though it may not be of any interest to you, for me these types of podcasts are a sort of catharsis. A purging of ideas that stir around in my head endlessly until I can formulate them into words. Only then can I truly hear what it is I've been thinking, and listen to myself to see if it makes any sense at all. Then re-work it all over again in my head and repeat the process. From this I've found that listening often turns out to be far more important than speaking. Recorded December 2019. The end of another year, and the end of another decade. Also, I apologize for the creepy low voice in advance.
It's that time of year again. Hope none of you are UPS drivers. No disrespect intended. Also, not really sure if Jewish people hate Jesus, I just assume they do for some reason. I mean they did kill the guy after all...
End of the world discussion with Q Tip, as always. Current state of the education system, world wars, snow crab armies and extra-terrestrial invasions. Give it a listen. 12-22-2019
For those of you that don't know, I do another podcast with a couple buddies from college called Magicast where we talk about the pitiful Orlando Magic basketball franchise. It's probably even more poorly produced than Beer & Almonds. It's probably recorded even more infrequently than Beer & Almonds. And we're so cheap and lazy we didn't feel like chipping in to cover the cost of soundcloud for our Magicast profile, so I've decided to just upload this here for the time being since it's been sitting around for a few weeks. We recorded this at the beginning of October, I think, right before the very first game of the season and I honestly would not doubt if it's the only episode we record this season. I'm on the podcast and I don't even really care about basketball. Haven't watched a single game yet this season. I just use it as an excuse to chat with some old buddies every couple weeks. Anyway, hope you enjoy. Other Magicast episodes: https://soundcloud.com/magicast69 or search Magicast on iTunes. The UNOFFICIAL fan podcast of the Orlando Magic. *We are in no way affiliated with the NBA or the Orlando Magic franchise. The thoughts, views, comments, and opinions of the hosts do not reflect those of the above mentioned entities in any way, shape, or form.
One of these days I’m going to learn how to record this without any white noise. But not today. Q-Tip joins me this week for another podcast where we explore topics such as multiple dimensions, parallel universes, post apocalyptic waste lands, time travel, lessons from history, predictions of the future, summations of society, life goals, achievements, meaning, purpose, and one shitty diaper conversation. Stimulating stuff. At the end of the day, it’s whatever.
Beer & Almonds: Episode 32 - Senor Santa Claus by Cooper McAlester
Another pod with Q-Tip after a brief hiatus. Topics of discussion: too broad to catalog. Just give her a listen.
Post 9/11 Box is finally here! This podcast is late though..
Solo show. Might not upload for a few weeks as I'll be on the road. We'll see.. Apartment essentials, Denver is the worst city I've ever lived in for golfing, but at least College Football is back.
Beer & Almonds: Episode 28 - Conspiracy Theories & MMA by Cooper McAlester
Beer & Almonds: Episode 27 - Mickel-obe Ulra & Dead Mouse by Cooper McAlester
Here again we have a more intellectual episode
Self Inflicted Broke Boy Lifestyle - the way I live and manage money - might make some podcasts in the future dedicated solely to money management. Saving, investing, planning, and splurging. All parts of a healthy portfolio strategy.
Finally went off the grid (albeit unwillingly), and I'm welcoming this new reality/existence. Lot less distractions. Lot more time to focus on who I am and what I want in life... beerandalmonds@gmail.com
Synopsis of the last few weeks. Sweeeeeet Ole Sloppy Top, Sloppy Top, Tennesseeeeeee. Pretty sure a grand slam has 4 events, right?
Definitely not a funny podcast this go around. Another more serious conversation with myself about life, time, history, work, dreams, goals, freedom, and passion. This is actually a compilation of 4 separate recordings on different dates that all kind of had the same central message. Finding meaning during our short time here on this big blue marble. Happy Birthday America. #4th
Here I catch up with my long time buddies from middle school. We reminisce about the good ole days. High School reunions and shenanigans. We discuss how overpopulation is plaguing the planet, the size of the universe, and what it all means..
First episode recorded on the new laptop, and somehow it's worse than all the others, officially taking the title of the WORST podcast of all time. Hands down. Here we catch up with a few college buddies of mine. We got mumbling Goose from Sarasota, Long John Silver from Orlando, and finally McCormick from Apalachicola who is tryna stop chasing that buzz. Everything from Trump, to saki sundays, to swirleys and spit balls, to bird baths. Wayyyy more editing than I ever expected. Never again. I've already forgotten what this episode is about...
My good buddy Sic Nic joins me to talk about Dwight Howard, and No Nut November amongst other things. November 2018
Podcast from October 2018. I now find myself in Denver after the cross country road trip relocation. A little more heartfelt episode than most of my others. Might be due to the clear headed thinking from my Sober October experiment.
The journey to Denver begins. Recorded August, 2018.
Mix match, hog wash, slip slap, paddy whack. I'm trashed right now. uploaded a few new podcasts, few videos. enjoy some almonds, they're on the house....
Just trying to get this up before my computer crashes. She's on the fritz.
This is not a podcast. Just another installment piece on my series of white noise tracks in different environments. Cheers.
I'm so over it at this point honestly. This is the third time I've tried uploading this. I'm wasted, and I'm on the clock for this corporate gig, so I really don't care anymore.
*This is not a podcast* However, this is an ambient white noise recording of the Sounds Of The City. 7:30 Pm. June. Dusk. Enjoy.
Recorded 6/16. Quick update on a new chapter in my life - life in the van. It's already hotter than expected. Sweatier than expected. Wi-fi is scarce. Uploading from the public library, thank you City of Jacksonville. All of my free time is productive now. I am constantly thinking and planning about what I am to do once I get off work. I actually plan to do something every day. There are tasks for me to complete. No longer do I sit on the couch and melt away wasting countless hours with the distractions that are television, social media, and the vast majority of garbage that is on the internet. Every day is different. It's a journey. I've already crammed more stuff into the past 120 hours than I have in the past 1200 hours. Alright that might be a stretch but you get the idea. Getting it how I live it. Living it how I get it. All is well. Life is good.
Alas, I find myself once more announcing my return to the podcasting game. This is like if MJ had come back with the bulls in '01 instead of with the Wizards.
Another cataloged episode recorded on 11/23/17 - but you're still gonna listen to it. In this episode we chronicle the true American holiday, explore my troubling history with ingrown toenails, reminisce about my glory years, talk about some trips I've made recently, or what was recent at the time of recording, and some other stuff I've already forgotten about..
I.AM.BACK!!! I've said it before, and I will absolutely be saying it again. After a long pause due to the constraints of corporate America, I've finally gotten around to getting back into the groove of this thing. This episode is a culmination of a couple different recordings I attempted to make over the last several months. Enjoy it. Or don't. I don't really care, but be ready for new, and progressively worse episodes every.single.week..
I'm back from a several week gap. Take it or leave it.
Another late upload. Recorded 6/15/17.
Lot of weird stuff in this episode. Dead air, covering week old topics such as the worst baseball brawl of all time, Tiger Woods' DUI, outing the Jameis Winston whistle blower!! and of course Michael Jordan vs. Lebrun. We're all over the place this week folks.
This episode is basically a synopsis of one of the hardest blackouts I've experienced in a while. I thought this would end after college. Guess not.. https://beerandalmonds.wordpress.com/ https://vimeo.com/coopermcalester https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCujl41qcjlmJfuCu7EKrp8g
#One(more)FromTheRoad - It's been a while, bout a week, since I got an episode out. Here I explore the origins behind the name of the world famous B&A podcast. https://beerandalmonds.wordpress.com/ https://vimeo.com/coopermcalester https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCujl41qcjlmJfuCu7EKrp8g
This episode is a compilation of several recordings I made last week when I was in Ponte Vedra, Fl -(PV). My buddy Stacey and I hit The Players Championship on Thursday, 5-11-17, and I tried to include some of the coherent audio I captured before we blacked out at 9:30am. I'm not even sure he knew I was recording. I apologize if the audio is a bit on the quiet side, but it was a pro golf tournament alright. I even caught an interview with someone that works for the PGA there at the end. Enjoy. https://beerandalmonds.wordpress.com/ https://vimeo.com/coopermcalester https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCujl41qcjlmJfuCu7EKrp8g
Wanted to get this thing up and running a few days ago in order to allow me some sort of consistency with uploading. Took me long enough to figure this out, but better late than never I guess. So here it is. First podcast. Possibly the last podcast. Recorded Saturday, May 6th, 2017. Hello by the way. I’m Cooper McAlester, and this is Beer & Almonds. https://beerandalmonds.wordpress.com/ https://vimeo.com/coopermcalester https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCujl41qcjlmJfuCu7EKrp8g
