Lena & Kisha kinda discuss Netflix Original black ass movie Fatal Affair staring fine ass Nia Long and thick ass DILF Omar Epps. We spent the entire episode of this podcast trying to figure out what in the entanglement hell is going on in this movie. This movie has all the ingredients for a pretty enjoyable yet predictable story: beautiful successful woman, dry ass marriage, old friend from college with stalking tendencies, and dumb friend. VERDICT: If you enjoy basic Lifetime movies - like Lena - chances are you loved this movie. BUT if you need a little more depth to your storylines and believable acting - like Kisha - then even the fine ass black people in the cast won’t save this movie for you. Baaaaaabyyyyy, there is so much to unpack here that all the likka in all the stores couldn’t have prepared us for this insurmountable pile of dirty diapers dropped on us - and LawrIssa. This BONUS episode of Insecure finds us in an alternate reality where Condolavirus proves she is not only the gift that keeps on giving, but she’s also apparently with ALL the shits. Lena & Kisha recap and discuss HBO’s Insecure S4 E9 - Lowkey Tryin’. Starting back where we left off last episode Issa & Lawrence have continued to get it in over the last few weeks. They are exploring their new selves with each other and are really enjoying what they are finding - and we enjoyed watching. A meet up with fine ass Nathan has the potential to cause issues as Issa struggles with finding a way to keep things “casually friendly” between them, but Lawrence remains unbothered. Molly’s therapist unsuccessfully tries to subtly convince salt truck Molly to consider a different approach when dealing with people who have wronged her, but as usual, Molly can’t see the wrong in her ways. As Issa’s relationship with Lawrence is growing closer, Issa and Molly seem to be heading for a permanent break up thanks to Molly’s Twitter fingers sending unintended mean girl texts to the wrong person. We don’t know where they go from here, but THIS is the episode we have ALL been waiting for - and when we say ALL, we mean Lena. When Lawrence reaches out to Issa to meet up for drinks we don’t know what to expect, but it’s all love and good vibes when they’re together. They catch up on life, talk about their career goals, dreams, and aspirations, and get closure regarding their past mistakes. In a night that never ends, LawrIssa LITERALLY walk on cloud nine. There aren’t enough words to describe the chemistry, love, and passion between these two characters - shout out to the beautiful Issa Rae and amazing Jay Ellis for the heat they bring this episode! His corny matches her corny, his swag elevates her awkward, and her beauty meets his sexy. THEY ARE THEE PERFECT TV COUPLE. By the end of the night, a more mature and all grown up Issa and Lawrence both find their happy place and we, the viewing audience, are blessed with a “happy ending.” In all the #blacklove and beauty of this episode, it’s hard to tell whether we watched an old couple fall back in love, or two people gain the closure they need to leave their past behind and truly open their hearts to new love. Once again, we miss Issa and the crew, BUT Molly and Drew really held things down in this episode. Following the altercation with Issa after the Block Party our new fav couple gets a change of scenery. We are like flies on a wall during their first “baecation” to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with Drew’s brother, Victor, and his wife, Lydia. The trip is a blast from the start with Molly - maybe - joining the mile high club en route to Mexico. But salt truck Molly made an appearance when she had a disagreement with an overzealous, and possibly - well, likely - racist hotel employee. Molly takes it a step too far when she proves anyone can get them words by going toe-to-toe with Drew’s brother, Mr. Devil’s Advocate. Drew is the real MVP in this episode. Not only does he eat the cake like groceries, Drew also remains level-headed and unbothered through it all and manages to diffuse a few salt dumps from Molly so that everyone can have a good time, even if they have to do so separately. In a brief moment of clarity, Molly reaches out to her therapist for an emergency session when she realizes she’s being too petty and having trouble letting things go. Sexy ass Lawrence who’s been MIA for about 2 months makes a quick - and delicious - appearance looking like an entire snack thanks to his fresh lining and steady income. TELL US: Drew seems to have the patience of a Saint, but will Molly push him away? Will we see a rekindled love affair between Lawrence and Issa next episode? And WTF is LaToya?! When the tour fails, Issa pops up on her mama’s doorstep looking for some love and “good vibes only.” Issa holds it down in this solo episode, but we are definitely missing the crew. Issa is nervous, anxious, and excited, but determined to produce an enjoyable event showcasing Black Excellence - even if it is partially gentrified since the blacks only come out at night. Issa and her intern roll with the punches and effortlessly handle minor kinks that come up during the event...until Issa almost has to throw a few punches causing a huge commotion and forcing the crowd to scatter prematurely when salt-truck Molly decides the Block Party is the PERFECT time and place to dump out her grievances with Issa. All moms need a break, but a post-partum Tiffany may be enjoying her time away from baby Simone a little too much. Luckily “daddy” Derek takes one for the team and holds baby girl down. Meanwhile, Kelli “poshes” it up on this side of the pond with a new boo that can only be described as the tall black male version of a dumb blonde. This episode was full of drama and laughs! But it left us wondering one thing: Where tf was Lawrence?!
