The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul's PIVOTAL Moment! In this deep-dive album review, we explore why Mary J. Blige's third studio album, 'Share My World' (1997), isn't just a classic—it's arguably her greatest, most complete work. After the raw, dark soul of My Life, Share My World marked a massive shift. We discuss the transition away from Puff Daddy, the new, polished sound brought by hitmakers like Rodney Jerkins (Darkchild), Babyface, and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, and the chart-topping success of singles like "I Can Love You" and "Everything."Did this album perfect the Hip-Hop Soul sound, or did it pave the way for a more commercial Mary? We break down every track, every sample, and what this Triple Platinum-selling record means to 90s R&B history.Introduction: Why Share My World is the oneThe Puffy Combs split and the new producersTrack Review: "I Can Love You" & "Round and Round"The Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis Magic on "Everything"Final Verdict: Share My World vs. My Life#MaryJBlige #ShareMyWorld #AlbumReview #90sRnB #HipHopSoul #RodneyJerkins #MusicReview #Everything

This episode of The Rickey Smiley Morning Show Podcast kicks off with a look at Coco Jones preparing to perform the Black National Anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” at Super Bowl LX. Jones shared that she’s been leaning on a vocal trick once used by Whitney Houston—eating Lay’s potato chips to keep her voice “oiled” before major performances—as she gears up for one of the biggest stages in sports. Reports also confirm Coco’s performance continues the NFL’s now‑annual inclusion of the Black National Anthem before kickoff, with Jones joining a lineup that includes Charlie Puth and Brandi Carlile during pre‑game ceremonies. Meanwhile, the show addresses online buzz about SZA and country‑hip‑hop artist Shaboozey, with multiple sources confirming that despite months of speculation, the two have never been romantically involved and maintain only a platonic friendship. Later, listeners get a lively segment featuring super‑producer Teddy Riley, whose new memoir Remember the Times chronicles his rise from Harlem to shaping the sound of modern R&B and hip‑hop through the creation of New Jack Swing and collaborations with icons like Michael Jackson, Mary J. Blige, and Jay‑Z. As conversation turns political, the team reacts to Donald Trump’s recent repost of an AI‑generated video depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes, which sparked bipartisan condemnation before the White House deleted it, claiming a staffer posted it in error. The episode blends entertainment, culture, and headline news, giving listeners a sharp, humorous, and insightful take on everything happening right now. The Rickey Smiley Morning Show dives into a whirlwind of celebrity headlines, beginning with the fiery social‑media clash between Nicki Minaj and Don Lemon. Minaj harshly criticized Lemon for livestreaming an anti‑ICE church protest, using language widely condemned as a homophobic slur, prompting Lemon to publicly fire back and call her “out of her depth,” “ignorant,” and “a homophobic bigot.” Adding to the show's drama recap, longtime Real Housewives star NeNe Leakes has reportedly secured a multi‑million‑dollar settlement in her racial‑discrimination lawsuit against Bravo and is now set to return to the network—an unexpected reconciliation considering her 2022 accusations that the network tolerated a hostile, racially insensitive environment. Meanwhile, the internet is buzzing over Luenell and Al B. Sure, whose affectionate videos and public coziness have sparked widespread dating speculation. Though some fans suspect trolling or a PR stunt, others note the pair’s genuine chemistry, deepening connection, and Luenell’s long history of guarding her private life—making this unexpected pairing even more intriguing. Rounding out the entertainment roundup, legendary producer Teddy Riley is preparing to release his memoir Remember the Times on February 10, 2026. It is a privilege to welcome actress and singer Kim Yarbrough back to The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar brand (and for the first time on the podcast) for the first time in 14 years!   Many Reality TV fans first saw Kim Yarbrough audition for The Voice USA: Season Two in Spring 2012. Her powerful interpretation of Chaka Khan's “Tell Me Something Good” turned both founding coaches' chairs, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera, around.  After joining Team Adam, Kim wowed the audience with her cover of Mary J. Blige's “No More Drama” and advanced to the Season Two Live Playoffs.  During The Voice: Season Two Live Playoffs, she sang Adele's “Rolling in the Deep” but fell into the Bottom Three.  After delivering a superb, powerful cover of Jennifer Hudson's “Spotlight,” the Maroon 5 frontman chose to advance Kim's then teammate, Katrina Parker, to the Top 16.  After her appearance on the NBC talent competition, Al Roker, Hoda Kotb, and Kathie Lee Gifford interviewed her on Today, and she sang with the Roots on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Over the years, Kim dove deep into the entertainment industry. She guest-starred on several television shows, including 2 Broke Girls, 9-1-1, Hollywood Heights, Hot in Cleveland, Kenan, The Mindy Project, New Girl, Shameless, and The Up-Shaws. Kim also had recurring roles in Cherish the Day (Aunt Natalie), The Haunted Hathaways (Madame Labuef), and the animated series Kid Cosmic (Flo (voice)). In addition, Kim lent her voice to the Oscar-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.  She also shared the stage and screen with entertainment industry legends, including Dennis Quaid, Loretta Devine, Octavia Spencer, Cedric the Entertainer, Stevie Wonder, Sheila E, and the late Betty White and her mentor Della Reese, who produced the stage show Della Reese Presents Kim Yarbrough, which allowed Kim to showcase her talents to the Hollywood Entertainment Community.   On this episode of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Kim Yarbrough spoke about voice acting, tutoring students in the arts, and if she would ever audition for America's Got Talent or wait for a future All-Stars season of The Voice USA. We're starting with Washington, where the House has passed a three-year extension of ACA subsidies with bipartisan support, including 17 Republicans crossing the aisle—raising real questions about healthcare, politics, and what compromise looks like in this climate. From there, we shiftto a powerful human story as Vietnamese Buddhist monks make a 2,300-mile pilgrimage from Texas to Washington, D.C., carrying a message of peace, loving-kindness, and compassion that feels especially urgent right now. We'll also dig into stories that aren't getting the attention they deserve, including serious questions surrounding the killing of Keith Porter by an off-duty ICE agent in Northridge, Los Angeles, and why so little has been said about it publicly.Internationally, the Nobel Institute has reportedly rejected an unusual request involving Maria Karina Matata's office and a proposal to share a Peace Prize with Donald Trump, while closer to home, Yang and Matt Rogers are urgingsupporters not to waste money on Jasmine Crockett's Senate run. Add to that FIFA refunding roughly 16,000 members ahead of the 2026 World Cup amid U.S. boycott concerns, and there's no shortage of news to unpack. And then it's on to entertainment, where awards season is already heating up. Teyana Taylor has taken home a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress, Sinners is dominatingthe conversation after winning Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, and rivalries in music and film have everyone talking. Mary J. Blige is set to launch a Las Vegas residency in May 2026, sharing the spotlight with Bruno Marsas his tour kicks off the same month, while Jill Scott returns with a new solo project that has fans eagerly waiting to see what she brings next. Mark and I will be sharing masterclass videos and recorded teachings, and I'll be doing the detox right alongside you for my third time! Step into a conversation that feels like a sacred masculine council with Kamal Hans and Mark Jenkins on this episode of Intimate Conversations: Dark Night to Divine Light. Two men from very different worlds, united by devotion, integrity, and embodied conscious leadership, join me for a powerful dialogue about purpose, alignment and what it truly means to live and lead from the heart. Kamal shares his courageous journey of walking away from massive financial success in the tobacco industry when his body and soul could no longer tolerate misalignment. That awakening led him to donate everything he had built and devote his life to creating Aryaa Organic, blending ancient Ayurvedic wisdom with modern science, intention, and frequency to create food as medicine. Mark opens up about his extraordinary rise from growing up in Brooklyn during the crack era to joining the Navy at 17yrs, and how physical transformation became the doorway to confidence, leadership and service. His path from training people for free while living in the projects to training celebrities like Beyonce and the late D'Angelo, is a living example of humility, grit and embodiment. Together, we explore why true wellness must be sustainable, why detoxing is about far more than food or weight loss, and how intimacy, vitality and aligned relationships are created from the inside out. We also talk about: -Walking away from success when it costs your soul -Turning money, status and achievement into service and purpose -Food as medicine through frequency, intention and sacred design -Embodiment as the foundation of confidence and leadership -Growing up in survival yet choosing a new path forward -Why fitness alone is not wellness without nervous system regulation -Detoxing emotional suppression, numbing behaviors and old coping patterns -Intimacy as an inside job and the power of embodied generosity -Conscious business, wellness and intimacy as one unified devotion This episode is an invitation to stop outsourcing worth to external success and invest in the inner architecture that creates meaning, vitality, and love. You can also explore Mark's work at www.markjenkinsmethod.com and receive a complimentary month of his online training when you begin the detox with us. ➡️ Go check out patreon.com/allanapratt for Exclusive content! Episode #270: Nabil Ayers (Roy Ayers)

Rarified Heir Podcast

Today on another episode of the Rarified Heir Podcast, we are talking to Nabil Ayers, son of musician Roy Ayers, a jazz/funk/soul giant most famous for his song "Everybody Loves the Sunshine" and is likely one of the most sampled artists of all time. A vibraphonist, singer and composer, Ayers songs have been sampled by everyone from Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige and Snoop Dogg as well as had  collaborations with Alicia Keyes, The Roots and Tyler, The Creator among others. As you will soon hear, Nabil's story is unlike anything we have heard before on the podcast. Imagine growing up knowing who your father was but only meeting him occasionally. By design. Sometimes it was a planned meeting that lasted just long enough to ask, "Do you want some Tempura?" and others were times that were literally a chance meeting on the street at a music store. As you will soon hear, we discuss this and much more around his book, 2022's My Life in the Sunshine that explains all this and much more. Nabil himself was open, engaging, honest and ready to discuss everything. What it was like growing up with a Jewish/Baha'i Faith mother who really only wanted a child at the age of 20, his relationship with his uncle Alan, a jazz musician himself who really was the masculine figure Nabil looked up to the most and how he finally had lunch with his dad well into his 30s when things seemed to not be making as much sense as they did earlier in his life. Currently a record executive, he's the President of the Beggars Group of labels, a group of well respected, independent US and UK labels, Nabil has also played in bands, owned his own record store, has his own podcast on both family and identity, called Identified, has written articles for The Guardian, the New York Times and others, has his own Substack page and much more. Accomplished, talented and versatile, Nabil opened up to us about pretty much everything we asked about. His story is about as unique take on celebrity and growing up the child of a celebrity as we could imagine. This is the Rarified Heir Podcast and everyone has a story. But none of them are like the one you are going to hear, right now.

MJ Cole reflects on his classical upbringing, his early love for hardcore and jungle, and how discovering slower tempos helped shape his signature sound. He shares how he keeps creativity fresh by avoiding autopilot in the studio, constantly experimenting with new tempos, tools, and sound-design techniques. They also revisit the journey behind “Sincere,” his breakthrough single and album, and discuss the realities of performing live, where passion often outweighs profit. Despite the industry's pressures, MJ Cole emphasizes that he has never wanted to quit because his drive comes from true artistic expression.Who is MJ Cole: The 90s reshaped UK culture with garage, jungle and more, and MJ Cole stood at the center with a 2-step sound that influenced grime, dubstep and artists like The xx. His breakout hit “Sincere” became one of the first garage tracks to reach the UK top 40, leading to a career producing for Dizzee Rascal, Katy B, Becky Hill, Stormzy, and co-writing Mary J Blige's “Nobody But You.” Raised in a musical West London home and trained at the Royal College of Music, Cole blended classical skill with electronic experimentation, eventually landing at Sound of the Underground and scoring chart success with “Crazy Love.” Today he stays focused on new ideas, pushing his sound through collaborations like AJ Tracey's “The Rumble,” releases on labels like Method White, and his own imprint 892, all while championing underground artists and music that feels real and connected.⏲ Follow Will Clarke ⏱https://djwillclarke.com/https://open.spotify.com/artist/1OmOdgwIzub8DYPxQYbbbi?si=hEx8GCJAR3mhhhWd_iSuewhttps://www.instagram.com/djwillclarkehttps://www.facebook.com/willclarkedjhttps://twitter.com/djwillclarkehttps://www.tiktok.com/@djwillclarke Hosted on Acast. In a lawsuit filed in October 2024, a woman identified as Jane Doe alleges that Sean "Diddy" Combs raped her during a Las Vegas afterparty in 2014. According to the complaint, Doe and her two friends were in Las Vegas over Memorial Day Weekend 2014. Doe claims she connected with Combs' party promoter, known only as "Internamtikonal Smoove," who invited her to an exclusive party at Club Rehab, where she met several celebrities, including Mary J. Blige, Lil' Kim, and Nicki Minaj. After the party, Doe attended an afterparty at Combs' suite at the Planet Hollywood hotel. After consuming one or two drinks from a Ciroc vodka bottle, Doe began to feel disoriented. Smoove directed her to an empty bedroom where she could rest, assuring her that the door would be locked. The next thing Doe recalls is waking up the following morning feeling very groggy and sore, with her entire body hurting and difficulty moving. She saw Combs in the corner of the room, shirtless and yelling loudly at someone over the phone. He was the only person in the room with her, and it was clear that someone else had been in the bed with her. Doe returned to her friends and slept for two days, vaguely remembering her friends trying to help with periodic offers of water.Doe's lawsuit is part of a broader wave of legal actions against Combs, with over 100 individuals alleging sexual abuse. The allegations span decades and include claims of drugging, sexual assault, and rape. Combs has denied all allegations, with his legal team describing them as false and opportunistic. The legal proceedings are ongoing, with Combs currently facing federal charges of racketeering and sex trafficking, to which he has pleaded not guilty.(commercial at 14:02)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:gov.uscourts.nysd.630246.1.0.pdf
