In this episode, we sat down with Joe Brown—founder of Melting Trends—along with musicians Rachel Ana Dobken, Damion & Paul from Tango Machina, and Gia from The Azures. The conversation centered on the upcoming Bond Street Block Party, happening Saturday, September 6 from 1–10 PM outside Bond Street Bar in Asbury Park. This free community festival has become a staple of the local scene, drawing large crowds of music lovers every year. The eclectic lineup for this year's event was handpicked by Brown, whose deep roots in the Asbury music community and years of experience curating shows through Melting Trends make him uniquely qualified to craft a bill that captures the city's energy and diversity. The incredible lineup includes Ron Gallo, Sunshine Spazz, Ov Love, Desert Sharks, Rachel Ana Dobken, Tango Machina, Neon Rayon, The Azures, Beauty, Drkhrt, and Hot Wax Between Sets!Together, we explored the heartbeat of the Asbury Park music scene and the importance of small venues like Bond Street Bar, which provide vital spaces for up-and-coming bands to find their voice and grow their audience. Grassroots venues and community-driven events like the Block Party are what keep Asbury's creative spirit alive while opening doors for the next generation of artists. Don't miss the Bond Street Block Party on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 1–10 PM in downtown Asbury Park—a free show for the community. Some brands are born to be more than just businesses—they become cultural icons. The Wing Republic, founded by Tlhompho Mokoena, has spent over a decade proving exactly that. What started in 2014 as a single pop-up stand has grown into one of Gauteng's most recognized food brands. From the early hustle at festivals and food markets to a brick-and-mortar home in the heart of Braamfontein, The Wing Republic has carved its place as South Africa's original wing specialist. Along the way, it has brought people together at events like Black Coffee's Block Party, Delicious Festival, and Sneakers Exchange—becoming as much about culture and community as it is about food.In this episode, Tlhompho shares the real story behind that journey. He speaks openly about the patience required to build a business that lasts, the resilience it takes to weather rising costs and industry challenges, and why brand is the strongest currency any entrepreneur can invest in.At its core, The Wing Republic is about more than wings. It's about creating experiences—bold flavors, a neighborhood atmosphere, and a sense of belonging that keeps people coming back. With a vision to expand beyond Gauteng through both pop-ups and permanent spaces, Tlhompho is building not just a restaurant, but a movement around excellence, culture, and possibility.

Adam's still losing fights with doors, Dan's house is held together by hope and 19th-century plumbing, and both are here to remind you: being a musician is mostly about surviving DIY disasters and playing gigs for people who aren't listening. This week: Adam's “door saga” leaves him bruised and tool-less (thanks, kids), while Dan's back on stage post-surgery, dreaming of gigs where the audience outnumbers the band. Adam's latest gym gig? Let's just say the kettlebells got more applause. The big question: What's your perfect gig? For Adam, it's a Stranger Things block party (with a real cast guitarist, no less). For Dan, it's rocking the Fourth of July in a sea of people. For Mike? A corporate gig that pays big and ends before lunch. The moral: The perfect gig is the one that fits your band—and maybe gets you home before rush hour.Bonus: Adam's dropping a Patreon bombshell, and there's a discount code for custom guitar picks. Because nothing says “rock star” like handing out your own merch.Tell us your dream gig, and tune in next week—assuming Adam's house is still standing.MaestroDMX (10% off discount link): https://maestrodmx.com/discount/DISCOUNT4CBC?redirect=%2Fproducts%2FmaestrodmxBOTH Lighting 360 Tubes (Use “DISCOUNT4CBC” to save 5%): https://bothlightingusa.com/collections/all-products/products/360-tubes-copyBlank Contracts & Riders: https://www.coverbandconfidential.com/store/performance-contractsBacking Track Resources: https://www.coverbandconfidential.com/store/backing-track-resourcesThank you so much for tuning in! In this episode, Justin holds down the fort and talks with Nick from Family Dinner about the band's origins, their experiences touring with notable acts like Block Party, and the influence of the Long Island music scene. They discuss the songwriting process, recording with legends like Brett Romnes and Vinnie Caruana, and the personal connections behind their music. The conversation also touches on their upcoming shows and the dynamics of being in a band, highlighting the close relationships formed on tour.Power chords and crashing boards. Mikey, Tom, and Justin talk music, hockey, and anything else that gets in their way. Tom and Mikey are lifelong friends that grew up on Long Island during the glory days of alternative music where our local bands were As Tall As Lions, Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Bayside, The Sleeping, Envy on the Coast, you get the point. We spent many nights together at The Downtown, catching any pop-punk, indie, hardcore, or emo band that came through. This was not a phase, Mom! Fast forward 20 years and we are still just as passionate about the scene as we were during our girl jeans and youth XL band tees days. Tom and Mikey are diehard New York Islanders fans, but Justin (Bolts fan) likes to remind us that we are #notanislespodcast. As we got older we realized we can like more than one thing and running beside our love for music has always been our love for hockey. We have realized we are not alone in this thinking, actually there are many of us that love these two things! This podcast explores just how connected they are!NEW EPISODE EVERY TUESDAY! ### Brandon Block Party Turns Deadly: FAFO Champ Ryan Mosley Busted for Murder! In a hard-hitting FAFO Championship segment, Clay Edwards crowns Ryan Mosley (31) as the "f'ed around and found out" winner for a fatal shooting at a city-sanctioned block party on June 21, 2025, in Brandon's 200 block of Mary Miles Drive. Permitted by Mayor Butch Lee's office (with city floodlights & barricades), the event erupts in gunfire – two males shot, transported privately to Merit Health Rankin. Victim Collier succumbs; the other survives. Mosley, also wounded, arrested post-hospital for 1st-degree murder & felon w/ firearm ($1M bond). Shoutout to Brandon PD & Chief Joseph French: "Dedication to justice – great team keeping neighborhoods safe!" Clay questions permitting without security: "High-risk; require overtime cops & liability insurance. Pandering for votes? Lowering standards leads to this – don't South Jackson my Brandon!" Rant on avoiding sketchy events: "If you need a gun, don't go!" Ties to cultural rot & reevaluating block-party policies.

The McShea family currently has 7 family members working at the resort. The photo was setup by Disney as a surprise for current cast member Morgan McShea's mother Pam. Pam met Morgan's dad Scott, who was an electrician at Disneyland, when she worked in Tomorrowland attractions. Scott's two brothers, Jeff and Glen also work at the resort. Morgan was hired at the resort in 2017 at the Haunted Mansion, and her twin siblings Hannah and Bryce were hired a few years later. Their cousin, Cameron, also works in Toontown. Morgan knew her mom would like a photo of the entire family in one photo at Disneyland, so they made it happen. The framed photo was presented to Pam in Tomorrowland. – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/disneyland-cast-member-suprises-mom-with-the-ultimate-family-photo/ SnackChat: More treats from Disneyland Discussion Topic: Jymn Magon – www.jymnmagon.com https://imdb.com/name/nm0536440/
