I recently made the single biggest change to my business in the history of Rach Makes Cakes. In today's episode I'll tell you what I did and how it's going!
In this episode, I'll discuss a few scenarios where working for free might sound like a good idea, but honestly it really never is.
I've seen a lot of people online asking for other bakers to like their page during this down time amid the COVID-19 outbreak. I'll tell you why I think that's a bad idea, and give you another homework assignment instead.
This episode is from a conversation I had in May 2018 with Michelle Green, who is a cake business guru and author of The Business of Baking. We're back with a fresh episode of Cake Shop! If you've been wondering what the hell happened, this episode is going to explain it all. Travis joins me again to chronicle what we've been doing since the last episode dropped in July of 2017. To make a long story short, WE CLOSED THE SHOP and Rach Makes Cakes is now a proud resident of Atlanta's Historic West End. I've laughed, cried, and learned just how much I'm capable of accomplishing. It wasn't always easy, but I'm super proud of what I've done and can't wait to see what the future holds.

After a few months of brainstorming, the Rach Makes Cakes podcast is changing directions. Now that the shop is pumping out cakes at full steam, we thought it would be a great opportunity for us to shift the focus of the show to hear the stories of bakers and business owners across the globe.
After a quick update about the shop, Rach dives into a one on one interview with Eryn Erickson of So Worth Loving about the ups and downs of owning a small business in the Atlanta. Have a listen as they talk about everything from the realities of obtaining building permits to what it's like to find a healthy work/live balance with their equally driven entrepreneurial husbands. "Today, So Worth Loving is a community of passionate and original individuals. We exist to embrace your past and empower your future. We believe no matter your history, past mistakes, religion, career choice, or relationship status, you are worthy of love. We focus on living life through the lens of knowing you have value and you have worth."
