Alcatraz, San Francisco Bay, California - Cayla tells the story of one of the most haunted places in the entire world! Alcatraz, La Isla de los Alcatraces, the Island of the Pelicans, has been around for hundreds of years. So how did it get so haunted? Alcatraz held confederate soldiers, civilians accused of treason, Native Americans who had land disagreements with the federal government, and starting in the 1930's the US' most ruthless criminals, killers, kidnappers, mobsters, bank robbers, and depression era gangsters. One of the most famous anti-heroes who called this place home for four and a half years was Al Capone. Numerous deaths occurred at Alcatraz and it was said to be designed to break the spirits of the most unmanageable criminals. One of the most haunted locations inside of Alcatraz is the Spanish Dungeon located deep within the rock. Water seeps inside the cold, damp walls and prisoners were sent here in complete darkness as the ultimate punishment. They would be stripped naked and handcuffed to a bar with nothing but a hole in the ground to use as a bathroom. Locals call Alcatraz Evil Island, prisoners call it Hellcatraz. Join us this week for an exclusive and close up look at one of the world's worst prisons.

Shauna Howe was walking home from a Halloween party when she was kidnapped and murdered just minutes after leaving the party she was at. How did Pennhurst in Chester County, PA come to be one of the most haunted places in the US? Step back in history with us as Cayla tells the story of Pennhurst State School and Hospital (it was NEVER an insane asylum until it opened in 2010 as a Halloween attraction). Eugenics, teeth removals, lobotomies, assaults, patients being pushed out windows - just a regular day at Pennhurst. How did this premiere institution become "The Shame of Pennsylvania?" Greed. How many souls still roam there today? Too many to count... This episode also features a surprise cameo by two of Cayla's dogs, Jack and Bear, sharing their passionate feelings about Pennhurst. Roxy was sleeping at the time of this recording.

Amanda talks about the murder of Grace Packer. Grace Packer was a beautiful 15 year old girl who was abused for almost her whole life. Regardless of what she went through she was always kind to others. There were reports of what was going on inside Grace's personal life long before she was murdered. Could this crime have been stopped? In the end she was murdered while the person who was supposed to love her more than anything in the world just held her hand and watched. Episode two features Cayla telling the story of Matthias Schambacher and the haunting of Hawk Mountain in Albany Township, Pennsylvania. Schambacher may very well be America's first serial killer...that is, if all the legends are true. Dive into this horrifying story that intertwines Native American curses, the French and Indian War, and possible cannibalism. Hawk Mountain is one of the most beautiful places in the U.S., and also one of the most haunted. Episode one features Amanda telling the true crime story of the Short family from Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania. Three weeks before Megan Short and her young children were murdered she called 911 to say she was scared of the man who would end up murdering her entire family - her husband. Leaving no real reason as to why he committed this crime we have to wonder what it was that drove him over the edge. Cayla tells the haunted history of Reading, Pennsylvania's most famous ghost family, The Bissinger's. Pregnant Louisa and her three young children took a stroll down the beautiful Union Canal. Moments later witnesses saw a horrifying sight, forever embedded in their minds and nightmares. This is no cut and dry murder-suicide; was Louisa's mental illness to blame? Or could the sinister Mr. Bissinger been the driving force behind this horror? The ghosts of Louisa and her children STILL haunt Gring's Mill and the Union Canal to this day...over 150 years later.
