Brethren, this Short Talk Bulletin Podcast episode was written by MW Bro Conrad Hahn, and is brought to us by VW Ambrose Dawson, DER 14th ME. There have been several ‘definitive lists’ of the members of the Continental Congress who belonged to our gentle fraternity. After much research, and to honor the 200th and 250th birthday of the United States, here is what we know: some delegates were definitely Masons; some were definitely not Masons, and some might have been. Enjoy, and do share this and all of these Podcast episodes with your brothers and your Lodge.

In this episode of The Derbyshire Freemasons Podcast, Chris is joined by Dr John Wade at Dore Freemasons' Hall for a fascinating conversation about a lifetime in Freemasonry, the importance of preserving our heritage, and why every Lodge and Chapter has a story worth telling.John reflects on his own Masonic journey, sharing the experiences, friendships, and lessons that have shaped his time in the Craft. Along the way, he discusses the value of understanding where we've come from, not simply to celebrate the past, but to help inform and inspire the future. The conversation explores the importance of recording our Masonic histories before they are lost. From Lodge records and personal recollections to photographs, traditions, and local stories, John explains why documenting our heritage is a responsibility shared by every generation of Freemasons.Chris and John also discuss John's work on a significant upcoming milestone for Derbyshire Freemasonry, and the research, dedication, and collaboration involved in ensuring this important chapter of the Province's history is recorded and celebrated for future generations. This episode is a reminder that Freemasonry is built not only on ritual and tradition, but also on the lives of the people who have shaped it. By preserving their stories today, we leave a lasting legacy for those who will follow tomorrow.Whether you're interested in Masonic history, passionate about your Lodge's heritage, or simply enjoy hearing the stories that make our Province unique, this is an episode not to be missed. For much of the twentieth century, Harry Carr's Transitional Theory became one of the most influential explanations for the origins of speculative Freemasonry. But what does the historical evidence actually tell us?In this episode of Masonic Muscle, we investigate the Transitional Theory using the same historical framework established in Campaign Two: The Great Investigation.Rather than asking which theory we prefer, we ask better questions:What is the claim? What evidence supports it?What evidence raises additional questions? What can the surviving documents actually tell us?We'll examine the Schaw Statutes, the earliest Scottish lodge records, accepted Masons such as Sir Robert Moray and Elias Ashmole, and the Edinburgh Register House Manuscript to better understand why Harry Carr's explanation became so influential among modern Masonic historians.Whether you're a Freemason, a student of history, or simply fascinated by how institutions evolve over time, you're invited to join the investigation.Sources Used in This EpisodeHarry CarrThe Transition from Operative to Speculative Freemasonry (lecture/paper)William SchawThe Schaw Statutes (1598 & 1599)The Edinburgh Register House Manuscriptc. 1696Douglas Knoop & G. The Origin War enters a new campaign. For twelve episodes, we examined Kenneth Mackenzie's twelve competing theories on the origins of Freemasonry. Now the investigation changes.Instead of asking "Which theory is correct?", we begin asking a far more important question:How should Masons investigate history? In this episode we examine the founding of Quatuor Coronati Lodge No. 2076, the rise of the Authentic School of Masonic research, and Roeinton B. Khambatta's remarkable review of more than one hundred years of Masonic scholarship.Rather than searching for certainty, Campaign Two is about learning how to think like an investigator. The goal isn't simply to collect more information. It's to ask better questions. In this episodeWhy Campaign Two changes the Origin WarThe intellectual climate of Victorian EnglandWhy Quatuor Coronati Lodge was foundedWhat the Authentic School actually meansRoeinton Khambatta's surprising conclusionsWhy multiple converging origins deserve careful considerationThe five investigative questions we'll use throughout Campaign TwoSources DiscussedRoeinton B. This sermon exposes Freemasonry as a deceptive cult that promotes salvation through human effort and secret rites rather than faith in Jesus Christ. The speaker contrasts Masonic teachings, which deify man and deny the deity of Christ, with biblical truth found in passages like 2 Corinthians 11 and Galatians 2. Emphasizing that righteousness comes only through grace, the preacher warns believers to test all religious claims against Scripture. Using John 1:29 as a central witness tool, the message affirms Jesus as the sole Savior who takes away sin. The sermon concludes with an urgent call to reject Masonic doctrines and rely exclusively on Christ for eternal life.
Hello! On this episode, we're once again joined by Dr. Heather K. Calloway and our "Guest of Last Resort," Bro. Seth Anthony, to discuss their work with the Center for Fraternal Collections and Research. From the Freemasons and the Odd Fellows to the Grange and countless other fraternal organizations, these groups have long been woven into the fabric of their local communities. Their rich histories, however, are disappearing at an alarming rate, making it more important than ever to document and preserve their records, artifacts, and stories for future generations. If your fraternal organization is interested in preserving its history, documents, or memorabilia, please reach out to Heather at hkc@iu.edu. Where did modern Freemasonry really begin? For eleven episodes we've explored ancient traditions, medieval guilds, political movements, master builders, and competing origin theories. Now we arrive at the final battlefield of Brother Kenneth R.H. Mackenzie's 12 Origin Theories of Freemasonry.Did Freemasonry begin in 1717?Or is 1717 simply the point where the historical record becomes clear enough for us to follow the Craft with confidence? In this episode we investigate the role of Dr. John Theophilus Desaguliers, the formation of the first Grand Lodge of London, Anderson's Constitutions, and one of the most important distinctions in Masonic history:The difference between the birth of an institution and the beginning of its documentary record. In This Episode• Theory #12 of Mackenzie's 12 Origin Theories• John Theophilus Desaguliers• The Grand Lodge of London (1717)• The Goose and Gridiron Alehouse• Anderson's Constitutions (1723)• Why organization is different from invention• Documentary evidence vs. tradition• The conclusion of Campaign OneBattlefield QuestionDid Desaguliers create modern Freemasonry......or did he help organize something that had already been developing for generations?Continue the InvestigationRoyal Masonic Cyclopaedia (1877)https://archive.org/details/royalmasoniccycl00mackAnderson's Constitutions (1723)https://archive.org/details/constitutionsoff00andeThe Regius Manuscripthttps://www.sacred-texts.com/mas/regius.htmThe Cooke Manuscripthttps://www.sacred-texts.com/mas/cooke.htmInternet Archivehttps://archive.orgSacred Textshttps://www.sacred-texts.comCampaign One CompleteWe've completed Brother Kenneth Mackenzie's twelve origin theories.Next, the Origin War enters a new phase as we examine the Ten Origin Theories presented before Ars Quatuor Coronatorum in 2000.The investigation continues.Strengthening the Craft... one degree at a time.
In Part 2, we begin with Todd and me rapping about how much digital technology has changed just in our lifetimes. Even when he was in school in Colorado, San Francisco had been a goal for Todd, a destination. He got his impression of The City from skateboarding magazines and TV shows. But before moving here, Todd went to Europe, as he puts it, "chasing a girl." He even tried living overseas. When that didn't work out, he moved back to Grand Rapids to save money. In 2001, he made the big move west. When Todd arrived, he had a job already lined up for him. He just needed to find a place to live. He'd respond to Craigslist ads for apartments, but when he showed up to look at one of them, a roommate situation, it had turned into a party. He got the place, his first San Francisco apartment, at Waller and Masonic. Todd takes a moment to reminisce about living in that area, which he's continued to do in the many years since he moved to San Francisco. His walk down memory lane leads us to the Lower Haight. Todd met a lot of cool people at that first SF job, a dotcom, naturally. One of those coworkers had a separate office space in the Lower Haight that served as an auxiliary pressing plant for a record-pressing company based in the Czech Republic. That coworker was bailing on their job and handed the space and the gig over to Todd. It put him face-to-face with musicians in need of vinyl to be pressed. He handled album art as well. His worlds of art and music were colliding in meaningful ways. He quit his dotcom job to do this new gig full-time under the name Circuit 73. More on that later. In addition to the record-pressing gig, Todd was doing flyer art for a friend's monthly zine as well as other various flyer work. He also did album artwork. Two friends who were new at the time were looking for a space to open a music gear store. They ended up in the same space in the Lower Haight where Todd based himself. Todd's graphic design work really started to take off around this time, the early 2000s. He'd only been in San Francisco a couple of years, but Todd felt like he was where he needed to be. I ask Todd whether, all those years ago, he had a plan for how long he would try his new city out. He says he didn't, but back then, he felt like he wouldn't be here the rest of his life. And yet, more than 20 years later, here we are. Then we turn to one of Todd's alter egos/pseudonyms/whatever you wanna call its—Ink Letterman. That persona was born when Todd got his first Instagram account, around 2014 or so. He wanted an alias, and landed on that. It took off around 2020, when he started doing mural work in the early days of the pandemic. Rewinding a bit, Todd started DJing under the name Circuit 73 (another alias) around 2005 or so. He eventually took a lot of time off from music, though. His growing collection of physical media started to make him anxious, so he stopped buying records. He also started a family in this time. Eventually, digital music platforms more or less solidified, so that helped. He also started listening to KUSF/90.3 FM. Being in an office, sitting in front of a computer, it all led to burnout as well. His son was born in 2015 and he semi-retired from graphic design to focus on being a parent and leaning in more to his art (and away from design). Todd's art is part of a group show curated by Known SF and 415 Zine that's up now through August 24 at Mini Bar. Eventually, DJing came back into Todd's life. He's quick to give credit to KEXP/92.7 FM for roping him back in. Another source of inspiration is his son, Oscar. He loves music as much as his dad does, and the two listen together quite a lot. Todd points to both the quantity and the quality of new music in the recent past. He's excited about a surge in old music being reissued as well. He's got a monthly gig, last Friday of every month, as DJ Circuit 73 at 540 Bar on Clement. And his radio show, Directions in Stereo, is on KXSF/102.5 FM every Monday from 10 p.m. to midnight. We end the episode with Todd plugging himself. Follow him on Instagram @inkletterman. Find him on Soundcloud @circuit73. Photography by Dan Hernandez

WB Wes Latchford joins the podcast to examine the complex role Freemasons played in the American Revolution. As we approach the America 250 celebration, we explore how prominent Founding Fathers reconciled their Masonic obligations with the act of rebellion. We discuss the "Green Dragon Tavern" connection and how Masonic principles of equality and liberty influenced the Declaration of Independence. This episode highlights the delicate balance between being "quiet and peaceful citizens" and fighting for a new nation founded on the Laws of Nature.Show notes and links: Join us on Patreon. Did England's greatest architect help shape modern Freemasonry? For generations, many Masons believed that Sir Christopher Wren served as the bridge between the medieval operative builders and the emerging speculative fraternity. But does the historical evidence support that claim? In Episode 217 of Masonic Muscle: The Origin War, we investigate Theory #11 from Brother Kenneth R.H. In this episode, I sit down with author, researcher, and consulting hypnotist Angel Millar to explore his fascinating book, The Supernatural Woman and the Male Initiate: Bonded Through Dreams.Together, we journey into the mysterious feminine beings who have appeared throughout mythology, dreams, literature, and esoteric traditions - not simply as muses or lovers, but as protectors, teachers, initiators, and powerful forces capable of transforming a man's character and consciousness. From the Norse fylgja, Valkyries, Morgan le Fay, The Wife of Bath, and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, to guardian angels, shamanic dream wives, succubi, fairy beings, Freemasonry, sex magic, and the lost purpose of initiation, we explore some of the strangest and most overlooked corners of the Western mystery tradition. We also discuss whether these supernatural beings are archetypes, independent consciousnesses, or multidimensional intelligences; why true initiation must create a permanent transformation of consciousness; how Christianity changed the Western relationship with the physical body; and why caution and discernment are essential when working with occult forces.Later, we dive into the ancient meaning of the daemon, the true nature of genius, creativity received through dreams, altered states of consciousness, self-hypnosis, hypnagogic visions, and the unseen source of inspiration that sometimes seems to move through artists, musicians, writers, and mystics. An incredible episode... At the turn of the 20th century, Alma, Michigan transformed from a quiet former lumber town into a thriving industrial hub. Sugar beet fields replaced pine forests, and a bustling refinery put Alma on the map for sugar production. Visionary local leader Ammi Wright built mills, factories, and even a college, laying the groundwork for growth. When World War I erupted, Alma's Republic Truck Company answered the call by producing thousands of Liberty Trucks for the U.S. Army. Meanwhile, the town's roller mills, canneries, and Swift & Co. plant kept America's food supply flowing. This narrative shines a light on how Alma's people and industries – from the Union Depot's rail traffic to the Michigan Masonic Home's charitable care – all contributed to the war effort and community life. It's a story of innovation, patriotism, and early 20th-century spirit in small-town America. The End of the Road in Michigan is a production of Thumbwind Publications

“Why did God choose the Jews?” This question opens a discussion on divine selection and purpose, while also addressing intriguing topics such as the nature of our eternal souls and the implications of finding Masonic symbols in a Catholic cemetery. Additionally, the conversation touches on the value of remaining Catholic amidst insights from Orthodoxy and the role of reproduction in Catholic natural law. I have been communicating with the people in charge and they refused to do anything about it because it’s considered private property. I don’t know what to do because I was looking into a plot there myself. What should my next step be? 28:32 – I feel like I'm getting more insights from Orthodoxy. Why should I remain Catholic? 35:35 – Someone argued that successful reproduction is the highest intrinsic good because it is humanity's natural purpose. What does Catholic natural law think about this?

The Freemasons have existed for centuries, but are they simply a charitable fraternity—or one of the world's most influential secret societies? In this episode of The Rabbit Hole, we explore the documented history of Freemasonry, its rituals, symbols, and secret degrees before diving into the conspiracy theories that have surrounded the organization for generations. Did Freemasons influence the founding of America? Is Washington, D.C. filled with hidden Masonic symbolism? What do the All-Seeing Eye, the U.S. dollar, the Vatican, the New World Order, JFK, Jack the Ripper, and Mozart all have in common? Join me as we separate history from speculation and examine one of history's most mysterious organizations. Host Jeff returns from a short break to deliver a wide‑ranging, ad‑libbed episode exploring spiritual and geopolitical signs he believes indicate the world is entering a major shift. The show opens with the regular "Word on Word" segment comparing Luke 6:28 and Zechariah 14:9 and declaring the listener‑chosen winner, then pivots into a rapid survey of current events through a biblical lens. Topics covered include Buckingham Palace's update on King Charles and interfaith duties (with discussion of Charles' role and speculation about end‑times symbolism), the Masonic beehive ceremony with Trump, and worries about an emerging technocratic one‑world system driven by AI, digital finance and centralized control. Jeff connects these developments to broader themes like the purpose of America, ancient agendas, and the Tower of Babel pattern. The episode addresses concrete security concerns: public acknowledgement of directed‑energy weapons and weather‑modification capabilities, the vulnerability of the power grid, and EMP risk (including a sponsor message for EMP Shield with coupon code ROR). Jeff reviews supply‑chain and food‑security alarms (citing RFK Jr.'s comment about limited harvests and the push for regenerative farming), trucking‑license changes, foreign ownership of meat production, and the automation/AI threats to jobs. Geopolitical items discussed include the Iran/IRGC situation and possible escalation, NATO/EU pressures on Russia, Ukraine's role and drone strikes, Canada's political stresses and the Arctic/golden dome strategic concerns, plus the symbolic closing of CERN. Jeff plays a short clip featuring AI industry leaders (Sam Altman, Elon Musk and others) warning about the "cognitive wild west" and synthetic media, then interprets those remarks in a spiritual and cultural context. Throughout the show Jeff stresses spiritual preparedness above material prep—encouraging listeners to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ—while offering practical suggestions like EMP protection for vehicles. He teases a future deep‑dive episode on a biblically based timeline that he says will be important, and closes with appeals to love God, family and neighbor. Guests and media: the episode is hosted solely by Jeff (no external guest interview), but it includes a short curated clip of statements from prominent AI technocrats. Sponsors read on the episode include EMP Shield (use code ROR) and a pet/human mushroom supplement promoted via RAR.PetClub247.com. Thank you for Listening!. Whence Came You? - Freemasonry discussed and Masonic research for today's Freemason
This week on episode 0718, we dive deep into the archives of 1937 and 1938 to explore two powerful Masonic articles: Dr. Ernest Crutcher's controversial challenge to our fear of mortality in Death: A Resting Place Between Lives, and Rabbi H. Griffan's rallying cry against the rise of totalitarianism in Masons as Watchmen. Plus, we uncover the dark, forgotten history of a 1930s domestic hate group known as the Black Legion, and we have an important update regarding the 2026 John Skeene Conference. All this and more! Send me a DM here (it doesn't let me respond), OR email me: imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.comToday I'm so honored to have back on the show for a second time: Satanic and Masonic Ritual Abuse, MK ULTRA, and organized abuse survivor, overcomer and now whistleblower, creative writer, gardener, talented musician, singer and songwriter, dancer, content creator, and the brightest and bravest light in the darkness, DianaA little bit about Diana in case you missed her first testimony episode, if you're new here, or if you need a quick recap: Born and raised beneath the desert sky of Las Vegas, Diana entered a world where her family's names and networks formed a powerful, shadowed backdrop. She is the granddaughter of a 32nd-degree Freemason of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Mystic Shrine - a Purple Heart-decorated Air Force veteran - and the niece of a nuclear health physicist who worked at the Nevada Test Site. Her great-great-grandmother immigrated from Sicily with ties to the mob and was an Italian woman of esoteric power who stood at the head of tables, bold and matriarchal. On both sides of her lineage flowed bloodlines connected to nobility, samurai, and the hidden architectures of influence. Yet it was within these very structures that the fracture began. Before she was born and continuing until she was thirteen, Diana endured systematic ritualized abuse designed to shatter memory, weaponize terror, and erase the sacred autonomy of a child. There were cages and costumes, staged violence and choreographed performances. Rituals unfolded in deserts and parks. Music - meant to be a language of the soul - was turned into a metronome of fear. Electric shocks rewrote what the mind could not bear to hold. Lodges and hidden rooms became classrooms of indoctrination. Adult faces of collusion watched. She once wrote these horrors as “fiction,” the only safe way a child could tell the truth her body already knew. Yet Diana is still here. What they tried to shatter, she gathered. What they tried to bury, she unearthed - piece by careful, courageous piece. She learned how trauma attempts to divide a life into locked rooms and how, with patient love for the self, those rooms can be opened, honored, and reintegrated. She came to understand that the most radical act after systematic dehumanization is to insist on one's full humanity - publicly, powerfully, and without apology.Today, Diana stands as a truth-teller and fierce advocate for every survivor emerging from hidden violence. She speaks for the child who was silenced and for every soul who still feels watched, doubted, or alone. She knows the architecture of coercion—how it recruits authority, hides in plain sight, and scripts stories for the powerless. She dismantles it by telling her own story first.Las Vegas taught her about illusion. Survival taught her about revelation. In a city famous for borrowed light, Diana carries her own. It does not blink. It does not sell. It is the steady flame of a life remade—one that warms, one that guides, and one that calls the lost back to themselves. Her music—once weaponized against her—has become her sword and her sanctuary. As a talented singer, songwriter, and performer, Diana now channels the very frequencies that once bound her into songs of freedom, healing, and defiant joy. Her creative writing, once a child's coded cry for help, now flows as a river of truth that others can follow. In her garden she tends living things that grow toward the sun, a quiet rebellion against every attempt to keep her in darkness.Diana meets people in the dark without pretending the dark is light—then walks with them until they can see the horizon for themselves. Because she carries her own light, the shadows in places like Las Vegas—and everywhere else—lose their power to hide. Diana is not just a survivor. She is living proof that the light within us is stronger than any darkness ever devised. And her song has only just begun.
Our favorite Masonic researcher and author, Bro. Chris Ruli, returns to the podcast to discuss his groundbreaking research on his new book, “Congress and the Freemasons.” This project represents the most extensive catalog of Masonic research on the legislative branch to date, offering an accurate list of Masonic Congressmen and deep historical insights. We explore how early Congress and Grand Lodges mirrored each other's operations and the surprising moments when Masonic ritual was discussed in open sessions of the US House and Senate.Show notes and links: Join us on Patreon. The Masonic Roundtable - Freemasonry Today for Today's Freemasons
In this episode of The Masonic Roundtable, we delve into the foundation of a nation with The Grand Masonic Experiment. We explore how the early builders of the United States—men like George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and numerous other founders—drew upon the principles, values, and architectural symbols of Freemasonry to construct a brand new republic. Our Knights discusses the alignment between Enlightenment philosophy, Masonic ideals of liberty, equality, and toleration, and the literal formation of American governance. Join us as we examine whether the birth of the nation was an intentional application of the Craft's blueprint, and how those foundational values continue to challenge and inspire us today.
Why would anyone connect Oliver Cromwell to Freemasonry? Why would anyone connect Oliver Cromwell to Freemasonry? This theory may be wrong — but the reason it survived tells us something important about power, politics, and the Craft. This is Theory #9 of the 12 origin theories listed by Brother Kenneth Mackenzie in the Royal Masonic Cyclopaedia (1877), and it may be one of the most misunderstood battlefields in the entire Origin War.This episode isn't about proving Oliver Cromwell founded Freemasonry. The historical evidence doesn't support that conclusion.Instead, we investigate a more interesting question:Why did later generations of intelligent Masons connect one of England's most controversial political figures to the Craft? In this episode:• The English Civil War and the execution of Charles I• Oliver Cromwell and the Commonwealth• How political revolutions reshape institutions• The actual claims behind the Cromwell Theory• What evidence supports the theory—and what doesn't• Why historians like Robert Freke Gould, Douglas Knoop, G.P. Jones, and David Stevenson remain skeptical• What this theory teaches us about evaluating historical claims"The origin and source whence first sprang the institution of Freemasonry has given rise to more difference of opinion and discussion among Masonic scholars than any other topic in the literature of the institution." — Dr. Albert G. Whence Came You? - Freemasonry discussed and Masonic research for today's Freemason
This week, we explore the ripple effects of our words and thoughts through "Guard Well the Portals of the Mind," discussing Albert Pike's concept of everlasting vibrations and William James's theory of "idea-motor action" as a sobering reminder to actively banish pessimistic thoughts and invite in the Great Architect. Next, we challenge the notion of Freemasonry as a mere social club with George H. Steinmetz's "The Worthy and Well-Qualified," which argues that Masonic allegories are actually designed to conceal the secret doctrine from the multitude and that the Craft requires genuine intellectual pursuit as a "progressive science". Finally, we share an exciting announcement for the 3rd John Skene Memorial Conference happening August 28th to 30th, 2026, in Burlington, New Jersey; for just $100, Masons and non-Masons alike can enjoy a weekend of fellowship, scholarship, and entertainment honoring America's first Freemason—a highly recommended experience that RJ has personally presented at in the past. Brethren, this Short Talk Bulletin Podcast episode was written by RW Bro Walter H. Brown, Past Grand Orator of the GL of IL, and is brought to us by WBro Michael Blum, DRI 14th ME and PM of Solar Star #14, Bath ME. The “furthermores” which we took while kneeling at the Masonic altar with our hands resting on the Holy Bible, square, and compasses constitute the finest set of guidelines ever compiled by the mind of men. One sometimes wonders if some of our brethren leave some of their furthermores lying there on the altar instead of taking them into their lives – incorporating them into their everyday living. Enjoy, and do share this and all of these Podcast episodes with your brothers and your Lodge.
In part two, Travis takes us back in time to Western New York State during the beginning of the Jacksonian era. The plans of 50-year-old William Morgan to publish Masonic secrets turned into one of America's first nationwide true-crime media frenzies. After Morgan and printer David C. Miller threatened to expose the inner workings of Freemasonry, local Masons responded with lawsuits, surveillance, sabotage, armed mobs, bogus warrants, arson attempts, kidnapping, and possibly Morgan's murder in the Niagara River. This episode follows the story from Batavia taverns and print shops to the Ontario County jail, the road to Rochester, the failed Canadian handoff, and the grim stone powder magazine at Old Fort Niagara where Morgan was last known to be held. We also dig into the forgotten role of David C. Miller, the “Masonic spy” Daniel Johns, the propaganda war between Masons and Anti-Masons, and how the scandal helped create the first major third party in American politics. The Hoop Pole Knights Abridged version of a 19th Century Anti-Masonic Song Some poets sing in epic strains, Of warriors and their fates, And some that rise and some that fall, Of kingdoms and of states; But hark ! the while in loftier song, And more sublimely grand, I sing to all the listening world The brave Masonic Band. The world was still, and wonders rare, Save now and then a dream Of railroads, and of side canals, And guns that go by steam; When Morgan swore a mighty oath, In spite of friends or foes, That he, for cash or conscience' sake, Would Masonry disclose And Miller swore to print the tale, And spread it far and near, That all the blind on earth might see, And all the deaf might hear; That from the greatest to the least, By Scripture rule, forsooth, That all should come to knowledge of The hidden light of truth. Then hell broke loose, and all the host Of Masons circled round, To kidnap both, destroy the book, Or burn Batavia down; And fury seized on many a brain, And vengeance seemed to start, In room of Love and Charity, From many a Mason's heart. And then the General Hoop-pole Knight, Renowned for chivalry, Began to feel that feather grow, Called popularity ; And how if he succeeded well By prowess in the fight, That he should be a Senator, As well as leading Knight: "And cried, ' Arise my friends, arise ! With pistols, swords, and dirks, Hoop-poles and knives, and cudgels strong, Prepared for bloody works; Without regard to powers that be, Or laws that men devise, On Miller, seize, and seize the book-- Succeed, or sacrifice.' On foot, on horse, in wagons stored, They marched ten miles or more, To guard their victim of revenge, And triumph in his gore; The while the people rose in strength, With blood at boiling heat, And sent him back to printing books, And made the band retreat. Nay, since the days of Don Quixote, When windmills were his foe, There has not been a scene like this, Unless in shades below; And even Don would laugh, and shake His sides till in distress, Had he but seen the Yankee Knights Attack a Printing Press.

A French GT champion's skull turns up in a remote forest. In Paris, two hooded intelligence operatives sweat through a heatwave in a stolen Renault with a silencer made from an applesauce pouch. Nearby, a life coach in the suburbs learns the bounty on her head is 70 grand, plus tax. Brad is here to share the intoxicating pleasure of untangling a real-life Masonic conspiracy, dubbed “The Athanor Affair.” It's the unfolding story of a Freemason lodge outside Paris that ran a murder-for-hire service staffed by government spooks playing James Bond, if Bond were a moron.
