Get your fill of horse talk by listening to us, your new horse friends, talk about our horses and talk to our friends about their horses in a bi-weekly podcast. We’re not experts on anything but what we love about our horses.
We've invited on Kayley Knollman to talk about having the IDEAL horsey childhood! (Honestly, she is living the dream!) Note: We recorded this episode 2 months ago! And then Beth had life things happen (and horse shows, duh) so this episode got a little tied up in production. It's still good, even late. Our guest this week is Susan White, founder of the Facebook group Pony Up 100 Y2020. Statement from Susan White on her Facebook group: “PonyUP 100 is awesome because of the hundreds of riders around the country that joined it, support it, and participate in it. This year, our second year, we have riders from ALL 50 states in the USA, as well as from several countries including Canada, South Africa, Brazil, Germany, Belgium, Australia, the UK, and more. The group more than doubled in size between Y2020 and Y2021, which I am sure is because people want to connect with others to "share the ride" in an audience that is just as passionate about horses as they are that allows for respecting one another's journeys. The PonyUP 100 admin leadership team does a great job providing oversight that rules are honored and posts stay on topic, that people feel noticed and affirmed. The group is not about me or any one person, but about the ride -- the icing on the cake -- building connection through consistent riding. This year, we started a sister group called GroundUP & UP Y2021, where members can share "all-things-horses-not-riding" -- groundwork, and anything about time with your horse that's before/after the ride, that's NOT the ride. membership is open year round but for now limited to ladies-only as a safe place to keep sharing the joy of horses. It is a smaller group for now, but just as encouraging.” Show Notes: https://www.dressmyhorse.com/ Original Music by Hazel Grace

This episode we talk with our friend, Phyllis, about clubs and organizations. Phyllis has been a member of fox hunting clubs for over 25 years and currently serves on the board of Mid-Ohio Dressage Association with Anna and Beth. Phyllis is a great story teller and shares some of Beth's favorites in this episode. While these stories are best in the car on the way to Ohio's Amish country to pick up a few horses, you can replicate this experience by listening to this episode on a drive.
