Sean Mullin is an award-winning filmmaker. He has been a writer, director and/or producer on seven films that have received theatrical releases. His critically-acclaimed feature film debut as a writer/director – Amira & Sam – won the top prize at numerous festivals and was distributed theatrically by Drafthouse Films in 2015. His documentary about baseball legend, Yogi Berra – It Ain't Over – received a theatrical release by Sony Pictures Classics in 2023. It is one of the best reviewed sports documentaries of all time – and it was nominated for two Critics Choice Awards and a Writers Guild Award. Prior to his filmmaking career, Sean graduated from West Point where he played rugby. He served an army officer, stationed in Germany and he finished his time as a Captain in the New York Army National Guard – where he was a first responder after the attacks of September 11th, 2001. For several months, he spent his days working as the Officer in Charge of the soldiers stationed at Ground Zero – and his nights performing stand-up comedy. Sean's most recent documentary – Brothers on Three – is an unprecedented look inside the most unique culture of any Division I Athletic program in the country – the West Point Army Rugby Team – as they fight to defend their National Championship. The film hits theaters in November of 2025, and streaming in spring 2026. Jerry and John got an early screening and were blown away. In this weeks podcast, we discuss the film with Sean, and the incredible emotion it invokes as it follows the West Point rugby team. It is a film about positive masculinity, overcoming hardship, and the love among not only teammates, but the men and women who serve our country. As Team Captain Larry Williams says, "Being a good leader isn't about how much you win – it's how you handle loss." To these guys, their team motto of "Trust, Commitment and Love" is much more than just three words: They're a way of life. Hey, soccer fans! The post-season is roster build season! Clubs all around Major League Soccer are releasing players, extending contracts, and exercising options on big names and depth pieces. While the Chicago Fire made news signing Andre Franco and Anton Saletros, there are a now a number of available players with MLS experience the Men in Red should consider evaluating. Would you like Giacomo Vrioni backing up Hugo Cuypers? How about Sean Johnson returngin to Chicago to back up Chris Brady? Could Bryce Duke fit in as a start for Gregg Berhalter's style of play? Nick also discussed the terrible allegations against Philadelphia Union Sporting Director Ernst Tanner. Accused - again and by more sources - of homphobic, misogynistic, and racist comments, MLS has re-opened their investigation into Tanner. Meanwhile, the club has placed him on leave. Tune in and join the conversation! Make sure you like & subscribe, rate & review, and keep growing the show. Follow the Fire on SportSpyder. Woohoo! Thanks for joining us for our 100th episode. What a journey it's been!In this milestone special, Michael and Steve celebrate triple digits the only way they know how: by taking a blowtorch to the 10 biggest myths keeping clubs stuck, stressed and spinning their wheels. From the classic “That's how we've always done it” to the dangerously common “If we raise fees, everyone will quit,” the guys unpack the beliefs that quietly sabotage clubs every day. You'll hear why these myths persist, the damage they cause and what successful clubs do instead to stay sustainable and future-focused.Whether your committee is humming along nicely or feeling full-blown basket case-y, this episode will help you spot the thinking patterns holding your club back and give you practical ways to break them.Tune in for a myth-busting, no-BS 100th-episode celebration packed with clarity, strategy and a few laughs along the way.Watch this episode on YouTube: https://youtu.be/EJLC_yFZ96s--------Need a constitution check-up? Baile coaches and teaches some of the best players and talked about setting goals, how to use technology and making players accountable so they could frame their process. Larkin talked about how she got started in the game both from a playing and teaching perspective, some of the fundamentals she teaches and how to eliminate the steering of the club.

Being a drummer and bass player, I gravitate towards the foundation of a song - the groove, percussion, and how instruments weave in and out of “the pocket”, be it the short offbeat guitar skanks heard in reggae or the syncopated piano stabs heard in Latin music. That's what drew me to reggae - the lock-step agreement of groove between the bassist and drummer that allows the rest of the band, organ, vocals, guitars, etc, to either support the core riddim or thread around it, adding depth and melody. The same goes for funk, afrofunk, and other similar genres. They all have related musical elements - tight syncopated grooves, a throng of glorious percussion, and horn combos that add electric energy that elevates and excites you. There was a period in the 60s & 70s that set New York on fire, emanating from Spanish Harlem, The Bronx, and Lower East Side, and labels like Fania Records - boogaloo (bugalú). We've all heard the style and artists at some point, but what is boogaloo? I had to look it up myself, and here's the definition. “Boogaloo was created by young Puerto Rican and African American musicians in New York City who mixed the music they heard on the radio, like soul and R&B, with Latin styles like mambo and son”. This is part one, so I invite you to use the comment section to share some of your favourites for part two in the future. Just because we're sober doesn't mean we don't still want to have fun wherever we hang out. But being comfortable in bars and clubs isn't automatic. Lisa took a pass for a long time and only goes on rare occasions. Anna spent her first year sober as Premiere magazine's “Party Girl,” which involved going out every night among the shiniest of people and the most open of bars. Amazingly, the experience only enhanced her commitment to sobriety more. Check out all things Lisa and all things Anna.
Liberty Counsel stated her firing was “improper” as it was in apparent retaliation of her exercising her First Amendment religious freedom rights. Chris Armas is a 2025 inductee into the US Soccer Hall of Fame. During his playing career, he played 12 seasons in Major League Soccer for the LA Galaxy and Chicago Fire, and was a 5x MLS Best XI selection, an MLS and US Open Cup Champion, and played 66 games for the US National Team. The 2000 US Soccer Player of the Year and 2005 MLS Comeback Player of the Year, untimely injuries derailed his inclusion in the 2002 and 2006 US World Cup teams. After retireing from playing, Chris began a coaching career that has taken him to assistant coach roles at Manchester United and Leeds United, as well as MLS Head Coaching stops with the NY Red Bulls (2018 Supporters Shield winners), Toronto FC, and in 2024-2025 the Colorado Rapids. In 2024, he led the Rapids to a remarkable improvement of 23 points, finishing 7th after finishing dead last in 2023. For this he was named an MLSCoach of the Year finalist. In 2025, the Rapids missed out on the playoffs on the final day, and Armas and the Rapids agreed to part ways. In our conversation today, Chris and John discuss the importance of building strong relationships with athletes, establishing trust, and helping each player get better. We discuss his time in England, meeting Sir Alex Ferguson, the British press, and his time in Colorado including the the joys of 2024 and the heartbreak of missing out on the 2025 players due to a stoppage time goal. You will see that Chris is humble, authentic, and driven to keep coaching and learning, and its a wonderful conversation to understand the humanity needed to coach at the top level. Care, Help, Trust: The New Leadership Playbook with Jeff Drummonds Summary: Book a Free Talent Strategy Call Former Marine and veteran executive coach Jeff Drummonds joins Tyler to unpack how leadership has shifted from intimidation and control to influence and emotional intelligence. Jeff shares his "big three" questions teams are silently asking—Do you care about me? Can you help me? Can I trust you?—and why answering them earns the right to lead. We dig into the EQ-i 2.0 model, why many high performers struggle after promotion, the hard ROI of EQ (turnover, conflict, productivity), and practical ways private clubs can upskill managers in a changing workforce. What You'll Learn Modern leadership is influence, not intimidation—especially with Millennial & Gen Z teams. Employees are screening leaders with three questions: care, capability to help, and trust. Many leaders were promoted for technical excellence, not prepared to lead people. EQ is trainable (unlike IQ). The EQ-i 2.0 framework maps strengths & gaps across 5 scales/15 subscales. EQ lowers turnover and conflict and improves productivity—there's clear business ROI. Clear expectations + respect for time off + fair give-back (pay or time) beats "sunup to sundown." Communication clarity is the single highest-leverage leadership skill. Credit is tight, though it's fared better in 2025 than rates and equities through many crises across the globe — France, tariffs, Fed concerns and Britain's doubtful fiscal health. In this episode of the Credit Crunch podcast, host Mahesh Bhimalingam, Bloomberg Intelligence's global head of credit strategy, showcases the Credit Clubs in Milan, Madrid and (upcoming) in London. He discusses these crises and ways to engage in credit with Samuel Sibony, Portfolio Manager at Algebris Investments. They cover the subordinated vs. senior debate in depth with a particular focus on AT1s and corporate hybrids, the tightness of the BBB and BB buckets vs. B value and the robustness of high yield in a rate risk environment, and defaults migrating to private credit.
