Most golfers think their irons are “standard” — standard grip, standard flex, standard length, standard lie angle. But according to Gene, that's exactly where the trouble starts. In this episode of Club Fitting Chronicles, Josh returns to talk with Gene about why iron fitting is one of the most misunderstood parts of the bag. They break down why “regular flex” can mean wildly different things, how shaft weight affects tempo and feel, why lighter shafts are not always easier to hit, and why many game improvement irons may actually make it harder for slower swing speed players to launch the ball properly. They also cover grip size, lie angle myths, low center of gravity irons, offset, club length, dirty grooves, and why your clubs may be forcing you into compensations without you even realizing it.If you've ever wondered why your irons feel inconsistent, why your ball flight is too low, or why your “forgiving” clubs still don't perform the way you hoped, this episode is for you.If this helped you, make sure to subscribe for more club fitting insights every month.--Support the showWATCH US ON YOUTUBE!!

Ryan Warsofsky just completed his second season as the head coach of the NHL's San Jose Sharks, this past season leading them to 39 wins, an 18 win improvement over 2025.  He also served as the head coach for the U.S. Men's National Team for the first time at the 2025 IIHF Men's World Championship, winning a gold medal. Prior to joining the Sharks, Warsofsky was the head coach of the Chicago Wolves of the AHL for two seasons (2020-22), where, in 2022, at age 34, he became the youngest coach since Peter Laviolette in 1999 to guide a team to the Calder Cup. He also spent two seasons with the AHL's Charlotte Checkers, one as an assistant (2018-19) and one as head coach (2019-20). In 2019, he helped guide the Checkers to a Calder Cup. Warsofsky's coaching career began in 2012-13 with his alma mater NCAA Division III Curry College as an assistant after two seasons with the team as a player. He then joined the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays in 2013, serving as an assistant for three seasons before being promoted to head coach and director of hockey operations for his final two seasons (2016-18).  In our conversation today, we discuss what it is like to be the youngest head coach in the NHL and the leadership dynamic that he brings to the locker room. We discuss the importance of joy, patience, Ryan's non-negotiables, and what makes a great leader. We also discuss coaching Gen Z athletes, the importance of fundamentals, and how to negotiate the world of social media to continue to build trust and great team culture. Elion shares insights on vulnerability, self-awareness, pressure, anxiety, and how elite athletes navigate difficult moments both on and off the golf course. She also explains how players can reset after adversity, overcome fear-based thinking, and improve performance through honesty and self-examination. The conversation goes far beyond golf and touches on lessons that apply to everyday life, work, and competition.Aaron Rai, 2026 PGA Championship winner, joins Gary to reflect on the life-changing experience of winning his first major championship. Rai discusses the preparation and mindset that helped him close out the victory, including his elite attention to detail, decision-making under pressure, and the confidence gained from years of disciplined work. He also breaks down key moments from the final round, including crucial shots down the stretch, his strategic approach to the golf course, and the support system around him, including his wife and family. Phill Drobnick (@CoachPhill) recently retired as the National Team Director at USA Curling after the 2026 Milan Olympics, bringing an end to nearly two decades of coaching experience at the international level. Since 2005, Phill has been instrumental in guiding Team USA to international success, including notable achievements at the Olympics and World Championships. Phill's coaching highlights include guiding Team USA to the Junior Men's World Championship in 2008, and more recently, orchestrating the unforgettable gold medal win for Team Shuster at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. That victory was the U.S.'s first-ever Olympic gold in curling. He was back in Pyeongchang in 2023, where Korey Dropkin and Cory Christensen clinched the first-ever Mixed Doubles World Championship for the U.S.  Phill also had his share of learning experiences, including serving as Head Coach at the 2010 Winter Olympics, where he gained valuable insights through the team's challenges. This experience informed his subsequent role as Project 2018 National Coach, where he worked with athletes identified as potential Olympians. His promotion to Men's National Coach in 2014 saw him leading Team Shuster into the 2018 Olympic Games. From 2018 to 2022, Phill served as the Men's and Mixed Doubles National Coach, and at the 2022 Olympics, he was the National Coach for the Men's, Women's, and Mixed Doubles teams. In our discussion today we take a deep dive into the intricacies of curling, the intense training the athletes do, and even cover some of the highlights and lowlights of the 2026 Winter Olympics.  BE THE FIRST TO KNOW ABOUT THE RELEASE OF OUR NEW BOOK Captain: The Athlete's Guide to Being an Exceptional Team Leader, due out in May 2026. Please fill out this quick Google form and you will be notified when discounted book pre-orders are available. We are constantly asked "where have all the leaders gone?" The Rizzuto Show rolls into another beautifully dysfunctional episode packed with celebrity chaos, St. Louis nostalgia, weird history facts, and enough Macho Man Randy Savage impressions to legally qualify as a wrestling convention. This funny podcast somehow begins with the triumphant return of BB's Jazz, Blues & Soups — the iconic St. Louis music venue where apparently the ideal evening consists of listening to blues while aggressively eating soup. Honestly? Sounds incredible. From there, things immediately derail in the most Rizz Show way possible. The crew dives into bizarre “Today in History” moments featuring Amelia Earhart, tornadoes hitting the same town repeatedly, Peter Cetera getting punched for having long hair, and a deeply cursed conversation about Lern's childhood memories involving Chicago songs and her mom's questionable road trip playlist decisions. Somewhere in there, the entire show accidentally becomes a therapy session nobody asked for.The celebrity chaos doesn't stop there. MGK and Yungblud continue their pop-punk feud like two emotionally exhausted raccoons fighting over leftover eyeliner. Travis Barker's documentary gets discussed. Kiefer Sutherland's tour struggles become weirdly emotional. Keanu Reeves' band Dogstar surprisingly earns approval from the crew. And the gang debates whether meeting Willie Nelson or Keanu Reeves would be the superior life experience. That's the kind of impossible philosophical question only this funny podcast is brave enough to tackle.Meanwhile, California wildfires threaten celebrity neighborhoods, South Park prepares for another season of social destruction, and the Masters of the Universe movie sparks heated debate over Jared Leto's Skeletor voice. Moon just wants to feel like a kid again. Rizz refuses to let the Jared Leto conversation become “The Jared Leto Show.” Balance is restored. Then the show takes another hard turn into old Hollywood myths, Wizard of Oz conspiracies, drunk Munchkin stories, Rick & Morty drama, and celebrity birthdays before wrapping everything up with a porno birthday segment that somehow manages to be both horrifying and educational. Sort of.This episode is peak funny podcast energy: sarcastic humor, celebrity nonsense, weird news, nostalgia, music talk, and total emotional whiplash from start to finish. n this episode of Openlove101, John and Jackie Melfi reflect on a recent visit to a swingers club after returning from an extended vacation. What stood out to them most wasn't sexuality—it was the atmosphere. As they sat observing the room filled with couples socializing, laughing, and floating naturally between conversations, Jackie noticed something striking: there was an overwhelming absence of jealousy, possessiveness, or tension. The environment felt completely different from a traditional nightclub scene. Rather than rigid couple dynamics or territorial behavior, the club carried an energy of openness, relaxation, and emotional safety. Couples mingled freely, conversations flowed naturally, and nobody seemed consumed by suspicion or insecurity.   Jackie explains that many people avoid swingers clubs because they imagine them as highly sexualized, intimidating spaces full of pressure and expectations. But once inside, the reality is often far different. Most conversations revolve around ordinary life topics—travel, work, kids, relationships, hobbies, and everyday experiences. The lifestyle environment, they explain, is built much more around connection and communication than most outsiders realize. One of the central themes of the episode is compersion—the feeling of happiness when seeing your partner happy. John and Jackie discuss how this emotional mindset changes the energy inside consensual non-monogamous spaces. Instead of competition or ownership, many couples experience genuine support, trust, and emotional freedom. They also acknowledge that this comfort level doesn't happen overnight. New couples often arrive with anxiety, jealousy, and fear: "What does that guy want with my wife?" "Why is that woman touching my husband?" Those reactions are normal. But through repeated positive experiences, open communication, and exposure to respectful environments, many couples gradually begin to relax and feel secure. The episode also highlights how many long-term couples in the lifestyle develop deep empathy and emotional maturity—not just toward their own partner, but toward others around them. The atmosphere becomes less about sex itself and more about human connection, openness, and shared growth.

New Purina Pro Plan Grant Program Levels the Playing Field for All Dog Clubs Host Laura Reeves is joined by Purina's Heidi Hartman to discuss the exciting evolution of the Purina Parent Club Partnership (PPCP) into the brand new Pro Plan Grant Program. For years, the PPCP distributed funds based on Pro Club member receipt uploads, which unintentionally favored highly popular breeds with large club memberships, leaving smaller clubs with minimal funding. The new Pro Plan Grant Program is designed to level the playing field, ensuring that a small breed club with just a handful of members has the exact same opportunity to secure a grant as massive organizations like the Labrador Retriever or Golden Retriever clubs. Now, any qualified 501(c)3 parent breed club can apply for a grant of up to $5,000. These funds act as a strategic partnership to support vital initiatives, including canine health research, educational outreach, breed preservation and rescue programs. Key Takeaways & Important Dates: Equal Opportunity Funding:The David and Goliath dynamic is gone. Small and large clubs now have an equal shot at earning substantial funding for their initiatives.Application Timeline:The simple online application process opens onJune 1and closes onSeptember 30.Approval & Payouts:Grant applications will be reviewed by a diverse committee between October 1 and November 30. Winners will be announced in December, with funds dispersed in January.Purina Pro Club is NOT Going Away:While the PPCP donation matching is ending, you should absolutely keep uploading your receipts! The Pro Club and its redemption programs are still highly active. How to Apply: Starting June 1, eligible clubs can access the straightforward online application to submit their grant requests. You can scan the QR code found on Pro Plan Grant Program literature at Purina dog show booths to apply directly. Remember, the application must be submitted by the board of your parent club.

Also ab in die Schule!
