Figuring It Out! with Shanno & Carlita. A podcast with a couple of girls who don't take life too seriously. We don't knock it 'til we try it! Oh and there's wine.
Shanno & Carlita are falling through trap doors into new worlds this month as they explore Dungeons & Dragons. Always playing new roles in order to try new things, the girls figure out how to get rid of wasps and what to do with an extra kidney—all by Canadian candlelight. * * * Wine Selection! • Lake Breeze Pinot Gris Canadian Product! • Yummi Candles (get 'em at Canadian Tire!) Notes: • Quails' Gate Chasselas-Pinot Gris-Pinot Blanc (Great with lobster!) • Boyd's Lobster Shop* • Ship & Anchor Pub* • Search Facebook for: "Ship & Anchor Dungeons & Dragons with Eric" (1st Monday of the month, email shipDandD@gmail.com to book your spot!) • Dungeons & Dragons (All things D&D) • Wizards of the Coast • The Sentry Box* (Great place to pick up any D&D resources you could ever want!) * Calgary Local Business!
The girls jump into the ring this month with semi-professional wrestling! Listen in as they debate the sport (or theatre) and also realize they may have aged gracefully into the readership of a beloved Canadian magazine.
We’re back! Well.. virtually at least. Since COVID the girls have been forced to try new things separately so here they are reporting back on how they are “figuring out” how to stay sane from 6 feet apart!
The girls dip their toes (literally) into the world of floating this month! Listen in as they attempt to float away their stresses and wipe away some sticky situations!
The leaves are falling while Shanno & Carlita recap some of the new things they figured out this summer. Carlita does a scrolling detox and Shanno get puppy therapy all while the girls figure out a new way of scootin’ around Calgary!

Must let dry 20 - 30 minutes.Let potato water cool to just warm. Stir yeast into potato water and let sit till foamy. Mash the potatoes. Add yeast mixture and oil. Mix well. Then add the flour, salt, pepper and rosemary. At first it will look really dry but as you continue to mix (or knead) it will get soft again, as though the moisture has to be worked out of the potatoes and into the flour. So knead or mix quit a while till soft. Let rise 20 - 30 minutes. Make loaves.* Let rise another 20 - 30 minutes. They don’t need to really double in size as they will continue to rise in the oven.Bake at 375 for 40 minutes or so. *This recipe makes two loaves. Form a ball first then flatten into a disk and roll the edge of the disk towards yourself. When you get to the last part of the roll, pull and stretch the edge toward yourself and dust it with flour. Finish the roll and rock it a little to taper the ends. This last part of the roll will not adhere well to the loaf and gives an asymmetrical kind of rough look. Shape is not really that important – it tastes the same no matter what it looks like :)P.S. Shanno got this recipe from her friend Wendy xx
