Poetry, Mental Health and how they are related, Pete Stroup is making sense of his world through his writing.
First Day Podcast RSS Today I wanted to share a poem about dying, as usual, it is more about living. About finding meaning in the unexpected places, where hurt is just another way to grow. I once thought it was the end, and so many things began for me when I realized it wasn't.Like us on Facebook@firstdaypodcastclick through our Amazon banner to support the show.

Sean Golden is a friend of mine, a newly married man, and a treasure to talk to. In what turns into a conversation about creativity and the freedom to perform it, dare I say, we learn a few things about ourselves as well. Sean will also perform two original pieces.

It's been a year! What a year at that. Technically, I think we've been working on this for less than a year, but we're here to reminisce, set some goals, hungrily and exhaustively talk about goals we are going to set for ourselves for the upcoming year. Listen in, Scott and I are ready to make this year a great one! Thanks everyone for making the first one so awesome.
Hey guys it's been a year! Not for the podcast, but almost. After some hot, hot microphone and audio production talk, we sum up the year. We go over what we've done well, what we thought we had a handle on, and what has changed in us over the past year! Scott's back and ready for chat.
A very special episode of First Day Podcast where we have a special guest! Genna Auteri! aka Pete's wife! Enjoy, and if you enjoy, make sure you tell a friend or six about us! Click through our Amazon banner! Christmas is almost here, you know.
We had a terrific guest joining us in studio this week. James Gilmore President and CEO of The November Company. We talk about what it takes to build something from nothing, the frustration of playing the game and talk a little NFL trash while we're at it. check out The November Company at www.november-company.com.
Let us not forget that I had to return the favor to my co-host for his intense interview of me. Here is a fascinating look into the mind of a real artist. Enjoy.
And so the marathon begins. Here is track number 1. Sort of an old meets new, like if J.S. Bach had played the club circuit.
Hi everyone. It's Scott. Today we have traveled to a rough neighborhood, lots of dirty alleys, and no street lights. To put it another way, today's show is a look into my brain; Why I do what I do, how I conceptualize the meaning of being an artist (and I use that term loosely), and how I cope with being a member of an industry that can lead to a great deal of mental and emotional pain. Mostly self-inflicted, of course. At the end, enjoy my meanderings on the piano. One take, no editing. Just wanted to offer you the raw music, which is my whole point of it all anyway. So I leave you with this: I got it from Woody Allen, who got it from Groucho Marx: It seems I really don't want to belong to any club that would have me for a member.
The phrase coined in this podcast by our fearless host Pete Stroup is Good On You. As is a common practice of ours, we are discussing how we are supposed to strike a balance in this insane universe, on this insane planet, in this insane and wonderful life. Please listen, think, and enjoy. And, by all means, throw yourself a dance party at the end of it all. You'll see.
We live in a time and culture of constant activity, over-stimulus, and, most importantly, a constant stream of people telling you what your priorities ought to be. "Oh, yes, of course. Thank you! Without your completely unsolicited advice, I might have just kept on doing whatever its as that made me happiest in my own life!" We just want to talk about that for a while, vent a little, without being the cigarette smoking doctor telling you to lose weight.
Not our meatiest show, but hey, we're getting back in the saddle.
Pete and guest host David Huff, talk about life, apathy, circling back and connecting with other people. Why shouldn't you have it your way? Things maybe aren't as bad as we seem.
Pete's producing debut, an opportunity to look into Pete's past, future and maybe in the middle. This is how the podcast works, no? So, sit back, relax, enjoy the best we have to offer.
Do you ever start conversations with people before they're even in earshot? Do you start every conversation with a pre-meditated response, regardless of what is said to you? If you answered yes, then this podcast is for you!
At least, it was rainy where we were. We tried some new stuff, so hang in there! Your patience will be rewarded.
Often times, we feel masculine, and just as we get a little proud of ourselves, someone comes along and builds a house on top of our manhood.
Scott here. Try as I might, the the levels could not be fixed. So remember, it only SOUNDS like we're having a conversation from separate rooms. It sort of fits the topic though. Yeah, that's the ticket, the levels are that way on purpose!...
How do we hold on to our identity, or even find it in the first place, in a culture where everyone has a say, and validation or credentials no longer seem to matter? And yes, we see the irony.
The guys get down to the meaning of being busy.
The guys talk about being liked, is it worth it? Who knows. Rough cut! First episode! Get excited!
