This cinematic puppet love story, based on a true 1933 event from Proulx's hometown of Sault Ste. "Ferry Tale!" is performed by Proulx under his company, The Pucking Fuppet Company, and blends puppetry, cinema, history, romance, and theatrical magic. Adam Francis Proulx is known for his innovative solo shows such as "The Family Crow: A Murder Mystery," "Baker's Dozen: 12 Angry Puppets," and "Emilio's A Million Chameleons." What do you call a group of 3 nerdy white guys hanging out? A podcast. Fuzz, Ajax, and Savrin sat down around a mic on Savrin's new laptop to just shoot the shit. Lots of Star Trek banter, Savrin getting derailed by Ajax, and other such silliness. This is a free one, obviously. Telegram fan chat: https://t.me/+KsOQnsQqWfA0Zjkx

John ran in the Fun with the Fuzz 5k on Saturday! He had one of his best times and a lot of money was raised for a great cause!
This week we're talking about a Girl Group Goofy Great - 1963's "Dumb Head" by Ginny Arnell. The lyrics are dangerously self-deprecating, the production is Spectorian, and there's FUZZ and a kazoo solo - played by GA herself. OH, and an infamous hook - something the Ramonesmight have sold their leather jackets for. The second version is super goofy and stoopid and it's by The Sharades, from England. Joe Meek produced it, so it has some otherworldy sounds (via a Clavioline) in addition to GREAT bug music vocals from Maggie & Gloria. No one covered the song until Girlfrendorevived it in the 90s. It's a cover of The Sharades/Joe Meek, not Ginny Arnell and we're getting into the realm of the ironic here. Finally, Primetimereleased a punky version in 2016 that seems to have a bone to pick with the original and just wait for that crucial change to the lyrics. Somebody kiss us please!

Chasing Tone - Guitar Podcast About Gear, Effects, Amps and Tone
Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 559 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - Brian's wife pranks him and this legendary music institution is no more? Richard had some fun with his band this weekend which resulted in some horn related activity that made him smile muchly. What was your favorite 1980's theme tune? The guys discuss this, Brian's teenage sobriety, and finger pain. Richard also found a musical relic in an old email account and realized he had been hard on himself.Blake has a meltdown and talks about his early recordings. A music institution has seemingly disappeared and the guys look into it. Brian has said something that set a chain of events in motion with both positive and negative results. Brian offers some sage advice to the British King of Fuzz.We recorded on April 1st and we reflect on some of the hilarious (and not so hilarious) jokes on the interwebs. Meanwhile Brian's wife played a joke on him and he tells us all about it. It was Eric Clapton's 80th birthday and the guys discuss a somewhat controversial figure in the guitar world. Brian talks about the Character control on the new pedal because Richard believes it is magical. Brian then schools him on fuzz biasing and tells us why running at 18v is not always a good thing. 'Uncle' Ben Eller has been playing with Mastodon and the guys chat about how to get into that position. Chasing Tone - Guitar Podcast About Gear, Effects, Amps and Tone
Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 555 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - The Wampler Cryptid is a beast of a fuzz pedal - and we try a super inexpensive compressor! Somebody has been hanging out with legends and it is not Brian this time and Richard stuffs his face as a result. He had been to see Albert Lee and was mightily impressed. He learned some interesting and encouraging tips by having front row seats and is excited to tell us about it and he is also inspired and may have found the fountain of youth before the caffeine kicks in.Have you ever heard about the Indian Tar Pit squid? It is a type of cryptid that inspired the concept for the all new Wampler Cryptid Fuzz pedal. The guys touch on it before Richard shoots off in a completely random direction because he has bought an incredibly cheap pedal. He is then confused by film ratings. The industry mourns the passing of a legend so the guys touch on it and Blake gives us a bit of history to add context. Brian discovers he was in a book and it took him by surprise and also did an interview with some folk from Richard's part of the world. Blake has to leave early and so the guys go on a deep dive into an inexpensive pedal brand and are really impressed. Kid welcomes in Jay Bird talkin' about trucks sliding on ice, dumbasses flagging semis too late, chaos on I-75 and Florida's fuckroads. Semis don't care, crashing with beds to nap in. Jaybird caught Keanu sneaking out a Detroit dive and Kevin James will be in Saginaw soon; Kid's chasing a Paul Blart scribble—haters can choke, Leah Remini's too fine for that schlub. Thanksgiving flashback: Kid wishes he ditched turkey for Cheech and Chong—family can wait. We revisit 2015: with Copper and Kid, blitzed after Silverback's karaoke flake, dodge cops in a shitty Pontiac. Drunk, stoned, weaving through Essexville streets, they bullshit their way out via J-Mac's notoriety. Jaybird and his daughter hit the Heisman in NYC—she drives like a beast, Statue of Liberty's ass pops from Jersey, then she nails a Pennsylvania blizzard, tailing trucks. Kid is wearing a Braves hat that honors his dead pal Andy, saving Kid's skull in a bike crash—collarbone snapped, brain intact. They plot a no-flirt waitress night—fat fucking chance.

Chasing Tone - Guitar Podcast About Gear, Effects, Amps and Tone
Brian, Blake, and Richard are joined by NAMM President John Mlynczak for Episode 548 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - Everything you wanted to know about NAMM but were too afraid to ask... The guys welcome a very special guest this week - John Mlynczak, president and CEO of NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) - and he gives us an in-depth and candid history of his involvement with NAMM and what that actually entails. We all know about the show (that Richard will never be allowed to go to) but NAMM stands for so much more for the music community. John gives us a fascinating breakdown of his personal musical and work history, how he landed the job, and just how many hats he wears. We couldn't have recorded this episode without discussing the tragic fires that are currently raging in LA. John gives a passionate and emotional response about what the fires mean for the show, what they mean for the wider community, and what NAMM are doing to help. He also confirms exactly what the situation is with regards to the show this January so if you have read any rumors, and are unsure about what's going on, John sets everything straight. Finally we ask some of those difficult questions that you always wanted to know about NAMM. Will the noise police be there? Will Brian be forced to sit next to the cymbals for 3 days straight? Will Blake eat his entire bodyweight in barbecued meat? Yes to all three - maybe! The British King of Fuzz gets dealt a serious blow and there is much laughter. This is a very special episode and we would like to thank John and his team for helping to set this up. If you are going to the show you will find Wampler pedals represented at the Boutique Amps stand!Nobody needs trumpets at 9:30am, PreSonus, Captain NAMM, Public day, Brian's insomnia...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!NAMM Foundation website - Donate here to help the LA communityhttps://donate.nammfoundation.org/give/655087/#!/donation/checkout We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Course, Merch and DIY mods:https://www.guitarpedalcourse.com/https://www.wamplerdiy.com/Find us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVrg4Wl3vjIxonABn6RfWwContact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show
