For Her is an ongoing initiative from Shoe Palace and Nike, where the next generation of female leaders from the Black and LatinX come together to speak on their respective journeys to make a difference in the world around them.  Driven to inspire and lift up their communities, our panelists will share stories of successes, learning experiences and perspectives on how to make a real difference through everything from art and activism, to mental health and leadership. Our sessions are led by the heads of groups including: Runway 4 Peace, The Youth Justice Coalition, Sista Skate and Black Girl Smile, and others who have built impressive platforms that strive for empowerment, a strong sense of self and a path for future generations of women to follow.  In the For Her series, beyond the panel discussion, you’ll also experience a series of workshops focused on relaying the blueprint for breaking barriers and building meaningful initiatives. We’ll provide the framework, show you how and explore where else we can go. Changing the game for sure!

From what began as a community game, it grew to become a showcase for local and pro talent, and a fixture in the city. While the league is now a mainstay in basketball culture, for Chaniel it is family. Beyond the NBA stars who have graced the court like Demar Derozan, James Harden and Kobe, the Drew has stood up the community in South Central Los Angeles. Under her guidance, Chaniel has continued to expand the Drew's reach and influence for generations to come.
