Bei Toni fängt Wein an zu klingen. Das ist bekannt. Und er lässt Geschichte vibrieren. Mit seinem „#askToni“ macht Antonio Askitis das – obgleich im Trend befindliche, für viele dennoch unbekannte – Weinbauland Georgien für Dich lebendig und zeigt Dir, warum es so sehr dem Zeitgeist entspricht. Und irgendwie kann fas nur Toni Wein so leben und erklären, wie es nur Toni kann. Also perfekt für einen Deep Dive und vor allem für ein so leidenschaftliches Thema, wie Georgien. Aufgewachsen zwischen Imbiss und Restaurant in Düsseldorf, Sohn einer griechischen Gastronomenfamilie, geprägt von Skate- und Graffiti-Kultur – und irgendwo dazwischen, in dieser merkwürdigen Mischung aus Straße und Stube, ist ihm Wein passiert. Nicht als Karriereplan. Seine Mutter sagte kurz vor dem Abitur: „Vielleicht wirst du ja Sommelier." Er wusste damals nicht einmal genau, was das ist. Aber der Samen war gelegt. 2002 bis 2006 studierte er Betriebswirtschaftslehre an der Fachhochschule Düsseldorf. 2011 folgte die Ausbildung zum Sommelier an der Deutschen Wein- und Sommelierschule Koblenz. Dazwischen ein Praktikum beim Weingut Karthäuserhof an der Ruwer – einer der stillen, großen Adressen des deutschen Weinbaus. Von 2008 bis 2017 war er Sommelier und Geschäftsführer im D'VINE in Düsseldorf, das 15 Gault-Millau-Punkte, zwei Gläser vom Wine Spectator und die Auszeichnung als „Weinplace" von Gerolsteiner erhielt. Aber das Entscheidende kam danach. Mit seinem Berufs- und Lebensmotto „Wein ist unkompliziert" hat er das nahezu Undenkbare geschafft: Wein in die nächste Generation zu transferieren. Er spricht die Sprache der Jugend, macht Wein greifbar, ohne ihn zu verunglimpfen. Er wurde zu einer der 25 wichtigsten Weinpersönlichkeiten Deutschlands (Vinum) gekürt, erhielt den VDP Traubenadler-Sommelier und den Schlemmer Atlas Top 50-Titel – und blieb trotzdem der Typ, dem man beim Erklären einfach zuhören will, ohne das Gefühl zu haben, dass er einem etwas beibringen möchte. Seit April 2023 begleitet er Pommes & Wein am Graf-Adolf-Platz in Düsseldorf – eine Weinbar, in der Hip-Hop läuft, über 750 Weine auf der Karte stehen und das Signature Dish Pommes mit Currywurst heißt. Das ist kein Konzept, dass ist Toni wie er leibt und lebt. 2024 wurde er als Sommelier des Jahres ausgezeichnet. Sein Buch „#askToni – Wein ist unkompliziert" beantwortet über 50 Fragen, die man schon immer stellen wollte, sich aber nie getraut hat. Wer das gelesen hat, weiß: Dieser Mann denkt nicht darüber nach, wie er Wein erklärt. Er erklärt einfach. Und das ist der eigentliche Unterschied.

Daar zou Skate toch blij van moeten worden? Of gelooft hij er niks van? Het antwoord op deze vraag krijg je in de Gamekings Daily van maandag 3 augustus 2026. Duidt een post van From Software op nieuwe DLC voor Elden Ring? Een ander onderwerp dat de beide heren tackelen, is het feit dat remakes momenteel een groot deel van de releaselijst en de charts uitmaken. Capcom gaf zelfs aan dat zonder de Resident Evil remakes ze geen nieuwe Resident Evil’s konden produceren. Before Gordon Harrison was Sport Development Director for USA Cycling, he was building grassroots programs across a handful of different sports, from the Learn to Skate program with USA Figure Skating to development at the Florida Panthers' practice facility, plus stints in soccer and baseball. That cross-sport background shapes everything he does now: get the fundamentals right early, and everything that follows, from the Olympics to a lifetime of recreational riding, gets better.We sat down with Gordon to talk about the USA Cycling Regional Development Camp and Education Summit coming to Bentonville August 7-8. He breaks down what a solid cycling foundation actually looks like: balance, power, cornering, and braking. Riders build those skills hands-on across Bentonville's world-class trails and skills park, working drops, turns, small jumps, and line selection, then head into the classroom at Thaden School to reinforce it all with race strategy sessions and direct access to USA Cycling staff. Rich Drew leads the coaching alongside a team of instructors, and athletes even learn to service and clean their own bikes.The event isn't just for athletes. Parents get their own education track, with speakers from the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee and USADA giving families a real look at the system their riders are entering.
