Eric sat down with Mr. Producer, a seasoned podcast producer and former radio professional, to discuss his career journey and the evolution of audio communication. Mr. Producer shares how a chance encounter at age fifteen led him to a job in radio, detailing his practice of cultivating a powerful voice for the airwaves. A significant portion of the conversation focuses on the shift from traditional radio to the rise of podcasting, highlighting how the fragmented media landscape has replaced the communal listening experience of the past. Mr. Producer also recounts his involvement as an "early adopter" of podcasting technology around 2004 and explains how he eventually retired from radio to help others launch and maintain their own successful podcasts, underscoring the importance of authenticity and finding one's niche in the current media environment. Key Takeaways: Define your personal "why" or purpose before embarking on a new project to ensure your efforts are meaningful to you. Embrace the fact that your initial attempts at a new endeavor will be your worst, and expect continuous improvement as you proceed. Work diligently to cultivate desired skills, such as reading aloud to practice pronunciation, projection, and tonality. Stick with your long-term goals and persevere beyond early discouragement, as consistency is key to reaping lasting benefits. Utilize new platforms like podcasting or content creation to document your journey, build credibility, and sharpen your communication skills.

Finding Your Voice: When Silence Isn't an Option Learn to Speak UpThere are people who are banking on our silence. It's really important to recognize that while sometimes we feel like someone else will speak up, in cases where you choose not to, that's not always guaranteed. While it can be uncomfortable and unsettling, speaking up when we see, hear, or feel like something is off can have a broader impact than the situation suggests. In some cases it can be the difference between life or death, whether that's in our communities or watching the global stage. All of our voices carry power and it's important that we find the courage to use them. Welcome to the ABIC Podcast, where we bring you the conversations that shape the future of our industry. Today's episode is all about voice, your voice and the authentic human voice and why it's the most powerful tool you have in an era where artificial intelligence is everywhere. Here's the truth: AI can write faster, but it can't write you. It can't capture the quirks, the soul, the lived perspective that makes words move people. And while every brand has a voice, not every brand knows how to use it. That's where a professional copywriter comes in, someone who can shape the authentic human voice of your brand into words that build trust, spark emotion, and make you unforgettable. To explore this, I'm joined by Rachel Medlock, a professional copywriter in the beauty and aesthetic industry whose work is instantly recognisable for its sass, originality and substance. Together we'll unpack why the authentic human voice, crafted by a professional, is the future, how you can protect and amplify it, and the science behind why humans still crave words written by humans. If you've ever wondered how to make your brand stand out in the age of AI, this conversation will show you why your voice, and your authentic human voice in the hands of a skilled copywriter, is your greatest competitive edge. The ABIC Podcast is an independent podcast that operates with the support of our listeners (that's you!) In this insightful episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, Avik Chakraborty sits down with Racheal Blackmore, a certified interrogator, journalist, and former editor-in-chief, to explore the journey from invisibility to authentic self-expression. Racheal shares her personal story of surviving abuse, losing her voice while helping others find theirs, and the slow, transformative process of reclaiming her visibility. This conversation uncovers the challenges heart-led entrepreneurs face in showing up authentically, the impact of trauma on self-expression, and practical steps to confidently share your story while connecting deeply with your audience. About the Guest: Racheal Blackmore is a certified interrogator, trained journalist, and former editor-in-chief with over 14 years of experience helping creators uncover their truths through storytelling. After surviving abuse and losing her own voice, Racheal now empowers entrepreneurs and creators to break free from silence, claim their authenticity, and communicate in ways that create real connection and impact. Key Takeaways: Racheal's journey highlights how trauma can teach us to disappear, making invisibility a form of self-protection. Heart-led entrepreneurs often struggle with visibility not due to strategy, but due to nervous system responses rooted in fear of being seen. Working behind the scenes—ghostwriting, scripting, or following templates—can feel safe but may hinder personal growth and impact. Healing and authentic visibility are gradual processes that require listening to your body, honoring micro-moments, and safely stepping into self-expression. Racheal's “Connect Method” emphasizes starting with recognition of self and others' journeys as the foundation for meaningful connection. The episode challenges listeners to distinguish between using their presence as a shield versus as a service. Stephanie presents a heartfelt reflection on how Christians are called to respond to today's challenging cultural landscape. She offers both a personal confession and a rallying cry, urging believers to re-center their lives on Christ and to actively engage with the world from a biblical foundation. Stephanie begins by clarifying the podcast's aim: Gospel Spice is not about political commentary or deciphering world events, but about grounding listeners in the timeless truth of Scripture and seeking Jesus on every page. She emphasizes a deeply Christological approach—fixing our eyes on Jesus as revealed throughout the Bible and learning how to live in His likeness. Acknowledging recent global and societal upheavals, Stephanie shares her personal struggles with understanding “the times.” She admits to the temptation of silence to avoid conflict, but recognizes this as spiritual cowardice. She confesses her reluctance to speak boldly in the past and asks forgiveness for failing to set a courageous example. One month to the day after the murder of Charlie Kirk, Stephanie notes the growing chasm and polarization she witnesses online and offline. Rather than succumbing to either despair or division, she calls Christians to ask: “What would the Lord have me do?” The answer is rooted in Scripture, humility, and prayer—equipping ourselves to discern and respond with Christlike wisdom. Drawing from her own life—Her journey from atheism, her experience as a legal immigrant in the US, and her years living in a Muslim country—Stephanie unpacks three ideological battlegrounds facing Western Christians today, following the thoughts Os Guinness shared last week on Gospel Spice: Cultural Marxism: ideologies rooted in atheism and humanism have evolved from economic Marxism to newer cultural forms, where identity and power dynamics overshadow biblical truth. The Importance of Lawful Citizenship: Sharing her and her husband's story of legal immigration, Stephanie underscores biblical obedience to governmental laws unless they directly contradict God's commands. Radical Extremism: Reflecting on her time in North Africa, she distinguishes between ordinary Muslims and radical ideologues, warning that even small minorities bent on evil can shape history, as seen in 20th century tragedies. Stephanie issues a stirring challenge: If a 15% minority, committed to evil or error, can transform societies, what could God do with a dedicated 15% of Christians boldly living out their faith? She calls listeners to be part of that faithful remnant—praying, embodying Christ's truth and love, and reaching out in kindness. Stephanie points to prayer as the most powerful tool available to believers, even announcing the latest Gospel Spice prayer course as a resource (with proceeds going to anti-trafficking ministries). Go to gospelspice.com/prayer for more. If you cannot afford to pay the full price of the course, use coupon code PRAYER50 for 50% off. If you can afford to, please consider making a donation to help others get the course for less, and to support victims of human trafficking. Also, Stephanie encourages listeners to anonymously practice kindness, share the gospel, and avoid the distractions of political rage or the pursuit of comfort. Stephanie closes with a prayer for boldness, discernment, and repentance. She urges each listener to resist complacency, embrace spiritual battle with wisdom and humility, and to become agents of change and hope in the world—“the 15%” who make a difference for Christ. Reflection: How can you daily center your life on Christ, courageously discern the times, and practice prayerful kindness, becoming part of the 15% who bring light and transformation to your community? Today, I interview Catherine G. Lucas who opens up about losing her voice in the midst of a painful breakdown. In her late teens she was already standing on stage for public speaking competitions, but by the time her parents divorced during her university years, the weight of family wounds caught up with her. Instead of enjoying summer with friends, she found herself in an acute psychiatric ward, her world shattered and her voice silenced. Her breakthrough came much later, when she discovered that what had been called a breakdown could also be seen as an awakening. It took years of reframing and deep inner work to see her experience not as illness, but as a turning point with the potential for healing.Through mindfulness, patient advocacy, and writing her first book, In Case of Spiritual Emergency, Catherine began to speak from her whole self rather than hide in shame. Today she helps others step into their deeper calling, showing that finding your voice is not about perfection but about expressing the truth of who you are in a way that heals and uplifts.__________________Catherine G. Lucas is the author of four books on how to move successfully through crisis and harness the transformational power it holds. A former university professor, Catherine left her academic career behind to step into her soul's deeper calling, following a profound crisis of awakening. She went on to set up a UK charity and now helps people step into their deeper calling. Her media appearances include BBC Radio 4 and TimeWarner TV, and she regularly speaks internationally. If you've ever cringed at the sound of your own voice or struggled to hold attention in a room, this episode will change the way you speak and how others respond to you. You'll discover how vocal tone, breath, and emotion act as biological levers you can train to improve your health, extend your longevity, and build magnetic charisma. Watch the condensed video highlight version of this episode (and much more!) on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR Host Dave Asprey sits down with Roger Love, the celebrity voice coach who trained Bradley Cooper, Tony Robbins, Selena Gomez, and Brendon Burchard. Roger has spent decades teaching actors, executives, and performers how to master their voice to create influence and impact. In this conversation, he shares the science behind vocal tone and the emotional cues hidden in your breath. You'll hear why most people speak from the wrong part of the body and how that drains power from every interaction. You'll learn how digital habits dull your voice, which techniques make you sound more confident and trustworthy, and why sound can heal the nervous system. Dave and Roger also explore how voice training supports your biology, boosts emotional control, and protects your performance as you age. This episode gives you tools to speak with more authority, connect on a deeper level, and improve your health through one of your most underused systems: your voice. If you want to lead, perform, persuade, or simply feel heard, this conversation shows you how to upgrade the way you sound—and how you feel when you speak. You'll learn: • Why most people speak from the wrong part of their body • How your voice shapes the way others feel about you • The link between vocal tone, breathing, and nervous system health • How to sound more confident, persuasive, and emotionally resonant • Why digital habits are weakening your communication • How to train your voice as a powerful analog biohack for longevity Dave Asprey is a four-time New York Times bestselling author, founder of Bulletproof Coffee, and the father of biohacking.
