This episode's guest is Saurabh Sharma!Saurabh Sharma serves as the Chairman of Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT), a non-partisan conservative youth organization that has been fighting for conservative values for almost 40 years in the Lone Star State. Prior to his role as Chairman of the statewide organization, Saurabh served as chairman for the UT Austin chapter which recently made national headlines as self-described "anti-fascist" students threatened to leak personal information of anyone who joined them. Born in Bangalore, India, Saurabh moved to the United States when he was 2 months old and has lived in 11 different locations across the country and the world. Upon moving to Texas during high school, Saurabh immediately fell in love with the Lone Star State and its people, inspiring him to work every day to defend the ideas that make Texas a beacon for liberty and prosperity. He began his journey in politics when he served as a legislative aide to one of Texas’ most conservative legislators, State Senator Van Taylor, during the 85th Texas Legislature and subsequent special session. Saurabh is also a journalist, having served as a Capitol Correspondent for Texas Scorecard in 2018 and a National Journalism Center fellow at The Daily Caller in 2019. He is part of the innovative digital strategy firm Drogin Group, where he helps bring the highest quality digital products to corporate and political clients across the United States. This episode's guests are Tom Glass and Eric Guerra!Tom Glass has spent his life working for limited government in various ways. In the 2015, 2017, and 2019 Texas legislative session, he spent his time focused on stopping domestic and foreign enemies of the Constitution from subverting our liberty. On the foreign enemy front, he worked on protecting the Texas electrical grid from attack. On the domestic enemy front, he focused on a constitutional enforcement bill called the Texas Sovereignty Act. He also has created a group called Right to Use Cash to protect financial privacy and promote financial stability.Tom is retired from a career in information technology at ExxonMobil, most of it spent on security and controls. He spent 2014 managing the Libertarian gubernatorial campaign of Kathie Glass, his wife.Tom earned a Chemical Engineering degree from Texas A&M University, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.Eric Guerra has been a Liberty Activist since 2014, officially joining the Libertarian Party and participating in the convention process. He was elected as Secretary of the Travis County Libertarian Party at the 2016 County Convention, and was then elected Chair of the Travis County Libertarian Party via Special Convention in February 2017. He was re-elected as Chair at the 2018 County Convention, and became the Political Director for the Libertarian Party of Texas in May of 2018. Eric recognizes there are many different avenues to fight for Liberty, and enjoys the people he has met and experienced he has had fighting the good fight in the political realm. He has also started The Sovereign Individual Podcast in the hopes of explaining the philosophy behind Liberty ideals to those who are unfamiliar. Matthew Bell first entered politics as a grassroots campaign organizer for the Bush/Cheney re-election campaign and intern for the RNC in 2004. He has led a career in the technology industry that spans over a decade. He started his career in the NY tech scene, and now calls Austin his home. He was the founder of BrewDrop, a mobile tech company which he sold to delivery.com in January 2016. Today he runs a boutique consulting firm where he focuses on helping startups and private equity portfolio companies grow and achieve operational efficiency.
