We are coming to the end of Season 3 at SEED's Podcast! In this final episode of Season 3, Choo Ying and Sien spoke to Dr. Amanda Kelly on the topic of environmental sustainability. Tune in to find out how she started her journey in environmental sustainability and more specifically the #Nostraw4me campaign. She also shares with us some real challenges that we may encounter when trying to change our own behaviors. Towards the end, Dr. Kelly shares how we could all integrate the knowledge of ABA into various areas that we are passionate about.

In this episode, we spoke to Dr. Marguerite Hoerger (Maggie), BCBA-D, Senior Lecturer in Education at Bangor University, and course director of the MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis. Her primary research interest is in developing affordable, evidence-based, and sustainable applications of ABA for use in schools. Dr. Hoerger shared insights with us about the importance of creating a behavior plan that fits into the teachers' vision of their own classroom. If they (teachers) don't like it, we (BCBAs) don't run it! She also highlighted that sanction and punishment don't teach new behaviour.

In Episode 3, we spoke to Leah Fennema Hall, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with extensive experience supporting organisations and individuals to engage in behaviours needed to meet their unique goals. Tune in to learn more about the application of behavioral science in Organizational Behavior Management (OBM).

In this episode, we had the privilege to talk to Bethan Mair Williams, a speech and language therapist and a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). Tune in to find out how she overcame some challenges as the first person in the UK to achieve both qualifications and some of her unique experiences in applying the science of ABA when working with children with speech and language delays. She also provided some valuable insights on what BCBAs can do when it comes to working with other professionals in a multidisciplinary team.

Welcome to the first episode of Season 3! In this episode, Alexa spoke to Choo Ying, a BCBA and a PhD student at Bangor University about her experiences in applying the science of ABA with older adults in various care settings. Tune in to find out how she was able to help the older adults to overcome various challenges by implementing strategies based on behavioral science.

We are coming to the end of Season 2 at SEED's Podcast! In this final episode of Season 2, Alexa spoke to Dr. Shyielathy Arumugam, an experienced Special Education Teacher from the Ministry of Education, who is now serving in a mainstream public school in Ipoh, Perak. Tune in to find out how she advocates for her special needs students, and how she transitions her special needs students from PPKI (Program Pendidikan Khas Integrasi) to the mainstream classroom. She also shares with us what can special needs teachers can do to support mainstream teachers during this transition process, and how all students have the right to request for shadow aide in the classrooms if needed!

Many children receive 1:1 services very early on and when its time to go to school, we have many questions about school readiness and whether or not they are well prepared. In this episode, we are joined by SEED's principal, Sien, and our very own BCaBA, Phooi Yin, who has vast experience transitioning children to school setting, to answer some of these burning questions on the transition process and school readiness!

While we're at the topic of School Placement in Season 2, we spoke to a parent to share her very personal experience with her child in their journey of finding a suitable school. Every family's journey to find a school placement is going to be a little bit different, but Yok Din highlighted some important points that were useful to her to advocate for her own child. In this episode, our guest Joanna Mah spoke to us about how different kinds of schools differ for children with special needs. Joanna brings many insights to the public school system in Malaysia and how inclusion is viewed within these schools. In the opening episode for Season 2, Sien and Alexa spoke to Datuk Dr Amar-Singh, senior consultant pediatrician, advocate for people with disabilities and advisor of NECIC and the National Family Support Group for Children and People with Special Needs Malaysia. Dr Amar-Singh shared insights with us about the state of Inclusive Education in Malaysia, and provided some guides and resources on how we can make inclusion happen together, and better advocate for children with special needs to build an inclusive environment for all. In this last episode of Season 1 Who, What, Why of ABA, we tackled a very important but often overlooked topic! We have two very very special guests in this episode! Alexa (BCBA), Sien (BCBA), Ling (BCBA) and Hong Chun (BCBA, LBA) came together online to discuss about what is an ethics code and why is there a need for one, how did they naturally abide to these codes in their daily clinical practices, and how we can continue to promote ethical service delivery as ABA practitioners! In this episode, Alexa (BCBA) sat down with another BCBA from SEED, Sin Ly, to introduce the BCBA credential. Sin Ly also shared with us how some knowledge acquired after becoming a BCBA helped her view some teaching strategies differently, what she finds rewarding in her job, and how she helps children with autism as a BCBA!

In this episode, we invited one of SEED's very own RBT, Yaashiini, to share with us her journey becoming an RBT, what are some of her job scope as an RBT and what are some skills she teaches her students!
