Members of Singh's Social and Motorcycle Club have long been advocating for a helmet exemption. Dr. Kanwaljit Singh, a Sikh who wears a turban and has a passion for riding bikes, believes that being exempt from helmet requirements is a matter of religious freedom. Amar Singh, president of Turbans for Australia, argues that the exemption should extend beyond just motorcyclists, as Turban-wearing Sikh workers also face challenges in this regard.

Amar Singh (comedian) makes his first appearance on the show to tell us about a time when self-help just went way, way too far and he had to do some blocking to take care of it. Amar is a comedian, but perhaps more importantly, he is John's former student. So we talk to Amar about being in John's class and getting John to book him his first stand-up gig, which has now led to a career in comedy, for better or worse. We also discuss Amar struggling to find a job due to AI, which of course leads Stefan to create some AI Yodas and also show us a nasty picture he found of a really big Nintendo fan. Plus, Amar also loves the sad cat videos we discussed with Libby Watson on our most recent bonus episode, and the Oasis reunion has us revisiting some of their funniest moments of the last decade including Liam Gallagher's meeting with Paul McCartney, his interview with a kindergarten class, and making their own tea. If you want to hear some more tea, we're spilling it all over the place over at patreon.com/blockedparty! $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every damn month including the aforementioned Libby Watson episode that just came out last week, where John had to do the blocking due to an insane Jeopardy! fan. From players like Gavaskar and Sardesai to players like Kohli and Bumrah and everyone in between. Rahul's latest Snickometer channel can be found here. Each year we celebrate a number of disability days, such as World Autism Awareness Day in April, International Day of Persons with Disabilities in December, and many more. These are commemorative days that are aimed at increasing the visibility of people with disabilities and their rights, and are often celebrated along with statements and promises to improve support and services for people with disabilities. Consultant paediatrician Dato' Dr Amar Singh joins us to delve into whether real progress has been made for the community, and why we need more transparency and accountability from government ministries when it comes to policies, plans and services for people with disabilities.Image Credit: Shutterstock

Is Amar Singh Chamkila a long-awaited return to form for director Imtiaz Ali, or is it another let-down from the once-promising filmmaker? We discuss the film's inventive approach to the music biopic genre, if not narratively then at least formally. We also talk about Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra's central performances as the slain husband-wife folk singer duo and address the ‘Hindi gaze' that Ali brings to this inherently Punjabi tale. Along the way, we also discuss the nature of high and low art and the film's many defences of Chamkila's controversial music. — Hosted by Akhil Arora and Rohan Naahar, The Long Take is fully bootstrapped. Who is the most marketable athlete on the planet today? What makes one athlete more marketable than another? How should the term ‘marketability' be defined? What do brands look for when aligning with an athlete? SportsPro has been asking itself such questions every year since it first released its annual ranking of the world's 50 Most Marketable Athletes in 2010. The process of answering them has sparked some interesting debates and a constant reevaluation of what it means to be marketable at any given time. In this special episode of the SportsPro Podcast, released to coincide with the 13th edition of SportsPro's 50 Most Marketable Athletes list, our team breaks down some of the key trends and talking points to emerge from the 2022 ranking with the help of Amar Singh, senior vice president of content and communications at MKTG. We also hear from Chris Collins, the president at NorthStar Solutions Group, whose updated data-driven methodology determined the 2022 rankings, making this year's list the most comprehensive assessment of athlete marketability ever produced.
