Walker about the power of sitting in your pause and how it “will revolutionize your mindset to action.” Lolita shares about her experience of transitioning into motherhood and bringing her infant son home after spending 52 days in the NICU. We dive deep into the importance of setting boundaries, communicating our expectations, starting our day with intentionality and the responsibility we have in shaping our children’s positive mindset. In this episode, I talk with Megan Baceda about her experience of transitioning into motherhood and how she thought it would be all about the kids… Megan came to realize that she needed to fit her OWN needs into the equation, too. We talk about the importance of making time to first identify what we need as a mama and learn to trust ourselves and spend time doing things that feel aligned with our energy, supportive and nurturing. Megan is an expert when it comes to incorporating the phases of the Moon in everyday life as a mama to feel supported and connected with our energy and what we need. Megan lives in rural Northern British Columbia, Canada, on 17 acres with her husband, 2 kiddos, 2 dogs, a mini donkey, a horse and 7 chickens. Megan loves the sweet, simple life of living out in the country. Since becoming a mom of 2 and having her own “mom-life crisis”, she dove head first into her own personal growth and spiritual expansion over the last 4 years. During this process she created her business, Rural Soul Mama, where she works with moms to make themselves matter by guiding them through the experience of working with and embracing their natural energy ups and downs. Megan shares that, “in allowing your natural energy to be witnessed and accepted, you will understand yourself more deeply and release the need to be fulfilled through external factors (those become the bonuses!). In this work we create calm within the chaos of everyday motherhood life!” Links:Rural Soul Mama Facebook business page: https://www.facebook.com/ruralsoulmama Rural Soul Mama Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ruralsoulmama Megan Baceda (Rural Soul Mama) on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruralsoulmama/ The Moon & Motherhood Membership: https://mailchi.mp/4885f3cd3d54/the-moon-motherhood-membership

One of the hardest - and scariest - things that I went through in early motherhood was admitting to myself that I was suffering and needed more help in the form of medication. It took living through a traumatizing event before I accepted that no-one else could help me any more than I was willing to help myself. There is so much shame and stigma around medication in motherhood. In this episode, I shed some light on my own experience of wanting so badly to heal from Postpartum Depression & Anxiety in a natural, holistic way (without medication) and how detrimental that ended up being for my mental health and for the health and safety of our family. I believed that “good mothers” didn’t need to take medication and yet I hated myself for the way I was showing up in my life as a mama. In this episode, I’m sharing about 3 Pillars of Self Care in Early Motherhood as I reflect on my own experience during the foggiest seasons of motherhood. My experience of early motherhood was often intense and extremely overwhelming. I sacrificed my needs and well being because I didn’t ever want my daughters to “suffer” and I wanted to be a “good mother”. Guilt consumed me when I did anything for myself. Neglecting my self care eventually caught up with me and manifested itself as postpartum depression, anxiety and rage. Looking back, I can see where my experience was lacking ME - my needs, my wants, my dreams, my practices - the things that made me, ME. Listen in for an honest reflection of early motherhood, resources that will help you during a particularly foggy season of motherhood and inspiration to reclaim space & time just for YOU! My journey into motherhood was intense, beautiful & surprising… I share my story here with the hopes that you might feel less alone and understand a little more about the Mornings for Mamas movement and why I’m so passionate about empowering mamas like you to reclaim your self worth & intentionally create space & time for your needs, dreams and desires. I felt trapped, completely overwhelmed and very isolated in early motherhood. I was highly self-critical and judged every decision & movement that I made… I put FAR too high of expectations on how I was supposed to feel, wondering if this is how it was always going to be, which made me ask the super scary question…. “Did I make the right decision in choosing to become a mama?” I frequently wondered “What is wrong with me?! Why can’t I figure this out?".In this episode, I share about my experience with Postpartum Depression & Anxiety, Postpartum Rage and the choices I made to reclaim my self worth and create a life that I love!
