There are three words that can send you spiraling out of control before you even realize you've handed over the wheel: "You disrespected me." And once you believe those three words, suddenly almost anything can feel justified—the comeback, the angry text, the insult, getting even, saying the one thing you know will hurt them back. And the strangest part? In the moment, it can feel like you're standing up for yourself... when you may actually be giving away control of yourself. In this episode, we're exploring what happens when anger, hurt, fear, embarrassment, or pride gets so loud that one part of you starts making decisions for ALL of you. Becoming emotionally grounded isn't about getting rid of those emotions. It's about learning to hear them without letting any one of them take over—and discovering how to bring the WHOLE you back into the decision. Because maybe the question isn't, "How do I get even?" Maybe it's... "Who do I want to become next?" Why Do I Say Sorry for Everything? — People-Pleasing Anxiety Relief | Guided Meditation with 4-2-6 Breathing If you've ever wondered "why do I say sorry for everything?", from bumping into someone to simply having a feeling, today's guided meditation is for you. Calming Anxiety sits with the quiet, exhausting reflex of chronic apologizing, the fear that if you're agreeable enough, easy enough, small enough, nobody will ever be angry with you. We slow the body first with 4-2-6 breathing, in for four, hold for two, out for six, creating the same small pause Martin often had to teach frightened patients as a paramedic: the space between the trigger and the reaction. For daily support beyond this episode, download Anchored on iOS, with Android arriving in a couple of weeks.
These are not ordinary affirmations. Every word you're about to hear is a line of code. Some lines build, some lines release. Together, they rewrite the program you have been running your whole life. I am a collector of affirmations, and this is my favorite set — arranged in the exact sequence they were meant to run. The order matters. The order is the code. ⠀ I AM statements to establish who you actually are. Release-and-receive pairs to clear what has been running underneath. Timeline shifting lines to move you into the version of your life you have been reaching for. Every pillar covered — wealth, health, love, success, power, joy, freedom, identity — in the sequence that installs. Say them with me out loud. Sleep to them. Walk with them. The whole set loops through the episode so it can move underneath the analytical mind and take hold at the level where the program actually gets written. Something in you already knows what happens when this runs.
Where Has All My Energy Gone? — High-Functioning Anxiety & Exhaustion Relief | Guided Meditation If you've ever collapsed onto the edge of the bed at the end of a perfectly "fine" day and thought, "where has all my energy gone? I didn't even do anything today," this episode is for you. Calming Anxiety sits with the exhaustion of high-functioning anxiety, the quiet cost of holding everything together while everyone else sees someone coping just fine. We slow the body first with the extended exhale, four counts in and eight counts out, gently unwinding the shallow, high-chest breathing that builds up during a long day of performing calm, the same kind of over-breathing Martin worked with often on ambulance call-outs as a paramedic. For daily support beyond this episode, download Anchored on iOS, with Android arriving in a couple of weeks.
I have been so eager to get back and record affirmations to share, but have experienced some set backs and yet I will continue to find a way to share my creative expression specially when I feel it's needed the most. Here I am sharing a bit of my personal grounding affirmations, some of the very first ones I ever wrote to help us all find steady ground within in challenging times. If you are a creator and have ever felt discouraged I am right here with you, would love to hear from you, and I will continue to find ways to keep these coming.I wish you so much light love and healing today and always.
Why Do I Feel Dizzy? — Anxiety-Induced Lightheadedness Relief | Guided Meditation with 4-4-8 Breathing If the floor has ever seemed to tilt beneath you, or the room's gone soft and swimming for no reason at all, today's guided meditation is for you. Calming Anxiety sits with anxiety-induced dizziness, the frightening, light-headed feeling that convinces you something is medically wrong, when the real cause may simply be anxious breathing. We slow the body first with 4-4-8 breathing (in for four, hold for four, and a long, slow exhale for eight), a technique Martin has used often as a paramedic kneeling beside people who were certain they were about to collapse. For daily support beyond this episode, download Anchored on iOS, with Android arriving next month.
One of the most frequent questions that I receive in the Tapping Q&A inbox is about whether we should be tapping on positive or negative phrases. People are often concerned that if you tap on a negative phrase, you will tap a negative belief into your subconscious mind. The good news is that you can't tap negative thoughts in. Even so, it can feel heavy and even discouraging to be tapping constantly on feeling bad or on what is going wrong in your life. Preferring to tap on positive phrases makes perfect sense. The problem is, tapping on a positive phrase that feels emotionally untrue is difficult. This issue comes up with even the most basic recipe for the EFT set-up phrase. It can be hard to say "Even though I have this issue, I deeply and completely accept myself" with any kind of conviction. (I tackled this exact struggle in depth in episode 721 of the podcast.) When a tapping phrase feels like a lie, you are less likely to engage with the tapping AND you are more likely to end the round of tapping sooner. Recently, I was my interviewing my friend (and all-around amazing tapper) Jackie Viramontez for this year's version of the Integrated Tapping Summit and she shared a new way of thinking about tapping with affirmations. The moment she said it, I knew it was something that I needed to try. Not only was it powerful, it was more powerful than I could have imagined. In this week's podcast I am sharing Jackie's idea, plus the ways I have adapted it to my personal tapping style. This is an approach that every tapper should have in their transformational tool box. It's always a good time when Chris Condon and Jacob Phillips find their way back on the show. It's especially grand when they're back to chat about That Texas Blood, and it's even better when they come guns blazing with the new Hell Comes to Allison Ranch relaunch and news of an upcoming television adaptation. FOC for the new series is this upcoming Monday. Get on your Bat-phone, and get your local comic shop on the line. Here's your chance to jump on the That Texas Blood chuckwagon. That Texas Blood: Hell Comes to Allison Ranch begins in 2003. America has just invaded Iraq. Sheriff Joe Bob wants his son to witness the history on TV, but the teen just wants some alone time with his Xbox. An argument is brewing, but then the call comes in. War is on their doorstep; the Allison Ranch, a local institution, is apparently coming under heavy fire. Sheriff Joe Bob and Deputy Wilson investigate. Things get rough. It's been four years since the previous That Texas Blood storyline. While Chris Condon and Jacob Phillips have never been busier, they've been itching to return to the title that solidified their reputation. We discuss what That Texas Bloodoffers them that no other story does. We explore how this series reflects our current moment and how genre tropes guide their characters toward revelation. During our introduction, we also discuss the sudden closing of Meanwhile…Coffee in Herndon, Virginia. It's where we founded our in-person Comic Book Club, which has become a staple in our creative pursuits. We encourage others to form their own Comic Book Clubs, and we announce where the next iteration of our Comic Book Club will meet in September. That Texas Blood: Hell Comes to Allison Ranch will hit shops on September 23rd, courtesy of Image Comics. In this episode of Unashamed, Unafraid, Sam, Chris and Joshua discuss how isolation fuels relapse and undermines recovery from sexual addiction. Dani opens up about the pivotal moment that forced her to shift from a hands-on director to a systems-oriented COO, leading to the creation of "the dashboard"—a Trello-based organization system that helps busy moms and entrepreneurs streamline their lives, reduce decision fatigue, and reclaim their freedom. She also shares her raw perspective on navigating the comparison traps of social media, leaning into faith after the sudden loss of her father, and learning to prioritize health, sleep, and alignment over superficial markers of success. About Dani Lynnes Dani Lynnes is a business owner, systems strategist, and creator of The Dashboard—a simple operating system that helps established entrepreneurs organize their priorities, reduce overwhelm, and make confident decisions. Known for her practical, no-fluff approach, Dani teaches business owners how to create systems that bring clarity, increase productivity, and free up mental space so they can focus on the work that truly moves the needle. Title NSDR / Non-Sleep Deep Rest — Reach Deep Rest Without Forcing It | 10-Minute Physiological Sigh Meditation If you feel tired in a way that sleep never seems to touch — wired, switched-on, unable to power down even when you're exhausted — this 10-minute NSDR (Non-Sleep Deep Rest) session is for you. Hosted by clinical hypnotherapist and former paramedic Martin Hewlett, this guided meditation helps you reach deep rest without forcing it, resetting an overstimulated nervous system while you're still awake to feel it happen. Today's practice is built around the physiological sigh — a double breath in through the nose followed by one long, slow breath out. Research from Stanford found it's one of the fastest ways to bring the body down out of high alert, flipping the biological off switch and engaging the vagus nerve. From there we let the breath go completely free and sink into non-sleep deep rest: nothing to solve, nothing to reach, entirely off duty. Whether you're looking for anxiety relief in the middle of a racing day, a way to quiet a "tired but wired" mind, or a daily NSDR habit to protect your calm, give yourself permission to lie down, soften, and let the whole system settle. ⏱️ Time Chapters00:00 – "The Tiredness Sleep Doesn't Touch" (Why You Need Deep Rest, Not More Sleep)00:36 – Today's Focus: I Can Reach Deep Rest Without Forcing It00:41 – Introduction from Martin & Anchored App Overview01:16 – Resetting the Nervous System Before We Rest01:38 – The Physiological Sigh & the Stanford Research Behind It01:56 – Settling In: Lying Down, Letting the Body Fall Heavy02:15 – Guided Physiological Sighs (Three Rounds Together)03:15 – Letting the Breath Go Free: Effortless Rise & Fall04:31 – Planting Today's Truth: The Warm Amber Light04:52 – NSDR Affirmations for Nervous-System Reset (First Pass)06:32 – Staying Off Duty: Nothing to Solve, Nothing to Reach06:41 – Affirmations for Deep Subconscious Integration (Second Pass)08:00 – Reuniting Mind, Body & Soul: You Are Worthy08:27 – 3 Daily Caring Tips for Building an NSDR Habit09:12 – Gently Awakening & Returning to the Room09:47 – Closing Reflection & Notice How You Feel Now09:55 – Outro, Community Support, & Sign-off

Narda Fields Bailey stopped having seizures. Janet Taylor got off blood pressure medication. Both of them credit one habit that most people think is too complicated to start. This episode will change how you think about your kitchen. Narda walks you through exactly how to begin meal prep with what you already have — no fancy containers, no complicated recipes, no pressure. And the ingredient swap she suggests for sweet potatoes is something you will want to try this week. Wait until you hear what she says about why we get forced into vending machines and fast food. That one lands differently. "Meal prep isn't just about saving time. If you've been white-knuckling your way through manifestation blocks for years, convinced you're cursed, blocked, or just behind, you're not blocked; you're in survival mode. You can't journal your way out of it. You can't meditate your way out of it. Affirmations don't land when your nervous system is crouched in the corner guarding the exits, because the universe isn't responding to your vocabulary. It's responding to your frequency.Every single morning, before your feet hit the floor, you land at a fork. Retraction or expansion. Same fear, same evidence, same day on repeat, or you interrupt it. Survival mode isn't a personality flaw; it's your amygdala doing its job, flooding you with cortisol and handing your reticular activating system a search order for more proof that nothing works out. What keeps you stuck isn't lack of effort. It's choosing the same frequency with your eyes closed and calling it fate.Episode Takeaways:Recognize survival mode as your amygdala flooding you with cortisol, not a curse or a spiritual block.Notice the fork every morning where you choose retraction or expansion before your feet hit the floor.Reframe courage as fear plus a different decision, not the absence of fear.Understand why closed hands and a guarded nervous system block what's already moving toward you.Choose your frequency out loud each morning, then review where you retracted or expanded that night. The version of you who chooses expansion on purpose, every single morning, without waiting for proof first, moves through her days differently. She stops guarding an empty vault and starts building the life she actually wants. That's not a mood; that's a practice, and it starts with the very next fork you hit today. We don't want to know your favorite Ninja Turtle. We want to know which Ninja Turtle is you. Which Ninja Turtle best represents your personality and behavior? Not everyone is comfortable answering the question, but Matthew Rosenberg gives it a go in our recent conversation at San Diego Comic-Con International, after a little nudge/encouragement. Matt Rosenberg will take over writing duties on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #25, after Gene Luen Yang and Fero Pe wrap up their current “City That Never Dies” storyline. Rosenberg is on a hot streak, writing both Spawn and King Spawn, as well as If Destruction Be Our Lot. Not to forget the eagerly anticipated cinematic adaptation of 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank hitting screens next year. He's the third writer to tackle the monthly Ninja Turtle series in three years, and he promises to bring a unique perspective to our favorite mutant brothers. First, his Turtles are going to war, and it's going to take them down nearly every New York City street. Streets Rosenberg knows exceptionally well as someone raised on them. Secondly, Rosenberg is a diehard Turtle fanatic, and he's been plotting possibilities for these characters since he was twelve or so. This week's podcast is our final 2026 San Diego Comic-Con episode. As we've done over the last few weeks, we've invited another podcaster onto the show to help us broaden our con coverage perspective. Today, we have Chris Hacker, co-host of The Oblivion Bar. Hacker found his way to Comic-Con only through the power of the comic book community, and we needed to take a moment to celebrate. Comic book people can get a bad rap, especially online, but Hacker's story shows the beauty that fellowship makes possible. Make sure you're following Matthew Rosenberg on his Substack, Podcast, Bluesky, and Instagram.. And follow The Oblivion Bar on Instagram and Bluesky.
