Necessary Evil

The corporate press, whose depravity and malfeasance is utterly boundless, has assured us that Biden's pick for Secretary of Defense is a monumental achievement in the advancement of racial equality, effectively distracting you from the fact that, while Lloyd Austin is indeed black, he is a sitting member on the board of Raytheon, one of the largest military contractors in existence. Does Austin's skin color negate the glaring conflict of interest at play here, or is the war machine continuing to chug along as strong as ever?

After a wave of new listeners, I thought I would better explain the overarching purpose of this podcast and why it is that fundamentally decent people can exist outside the "acceptable" range of political identities. Also, the CIA has caused more havoc in this world than ISIS, Al-Quaeda, and Kim Jung Un combined. If your unwavering patriotism robs you of an ability to see things objectively and be honest about your beloved country's atrocities, then I cannot stress this enough: Buzz. Off.

Contrary to popular belief, being a liberal is not a prerequisite for being a good person. Results will always trump intent. If your way of doing things turns out to cause hyperinflation, crush the job market, and diminish the quality of life Americans now enjoy, you don't get special bonus points just because your voting plan came from a place of genuine benevolence. The same goes for conservatives. Perhaps the person voting opposite you truly believes their way of thinking is better for the neediest of society. Perhaps they have some insight that you haven't considered. Perhaps calling them a racist, homophobic prick who hates poor people solely because they do not subscribe to your precise vision of the world is counterproductive. Maybe try considering another's perspective before casting aspersions upon their character.

The American political class has a malignant infestation of pedophilia and sociopathy. This is no longer wild speculation or unsubstantiated conspiracy theory; I've got receipts. Anyone so much as displaying a moment of hesitation to the mob's demands is labeled irredeemably racist, filled to the brim with unfettered hatred, their reputations tarnished forever. The range of allowable opinion has been narrowed to the point that many of you cannot even see your own noses. I can assure you that I will never bow to this type of pressure, but will ALWAYS say what I believe to be true. I really only need about 8 friends, and as it turns out, I don't like most of you reading this anyways. So cancel me all you want; I'll be better off without you miserable cretins in my life.

The Dip (2007) by Seth Godin brilliantly lays out the concept of the "dip", a temporary setback in which the decision to quit or to persevere must be made, and which often comes just on the cusp of a breakthrough. Between a global pandemic, race riots galore, a looming depression, and the fact that the two finalists for leader of the free world can hardly complete a coherent sentence, 2020 is undoubtedly the most notable "dip" in recent American history. We can either quit now, give up on the idea of America, and allow division and hatred to define us, or we can find common ground, work together, and usher in a whole new era of human advancement. This dip is going to end up being the best thing that ever happened to America, but only if we can openly address the issues which have plagued our society for decades, especially with regard to race and class. No matter what opinions you may hold, you should always look at your ideas through the lens of skepticism. I know this may come as a shock to many of you, but there's a high probability that you (not me lol) don't know everything. In this episode, I will attempt to shake your foundation with steel-man arguments from an opposing viewpoint. If you are not ready to have an adult conversation about race and the police, then feel free to unsubscribe and spend the rest of your day watching Spongebob reruns in your play pen.

The military-industrial complex is perhaps the most nefarious entity ever produced by the federal government, and we will hold no punches at Necessary Evil when exposing the despicable acts carried out by those in charge. This is no place for shills and partisan hacks, so if you refuse to be honest about the war crimes committed by George W. Bush and Barack Obama, then feel free to skip this episode entirely.

S. Lewis. Reasonable people can disagree on when to open the economy and still come from a place of genuine benevolence. If you disagree with that sentence, you are part of the problem. Episode 6 discusses the logic of the shutdowns, the imperative NEED to be skeptical of all power structures and authority figures, and the hypocrisy of those in charge.

Women's sports have made such tremendous strides throughout the past two decades, but are now in jeopardy of being permanently destroyed solely because we are too afraid to offend approximately 0.5% of the population. At Necessary Evil, justice ALWAYS supersedes emotion, so if you are easily offended, then feel free to buzz off; the adults are talking.

In Part 2 of our discussion (with myself lol) on the fairness and morality of universal healthcare, I cover some of my left-leaning views on the topic in an attempt to challenge my fellow righties to consider a new point of view. I also get perhaps a smidge too aggressive (ME??!!) when reacting to yet another shameless race-baiting segment from MSNBC, but you didn't come here for a quiet, reserved podcast now, did you?

The first episode of a two-part discussion on the fairness and morality of universal healthcare includes a dive into the concept of insurance, the bigotry of low expectations, and an unplanned, albeit necessary, rant that should be required by the Department of Education for graduation from the 8th grade. Volume 1 covers my argument AGAINST socialized medicine. Volume 2 will cover my argument FOR. This will ensure that I anger both sides equally. What can I say; some men just want to watch the world burn.
