Proof to Product
This is Strategy with Seth Godin [Replay]

Hey, friend. I'm pulling an amazing episode from the archives with over 430 episodes here on the Proof to Product podcast. There is a gold mine of information for you to help you grow your business, and, frankly, it can be hard to take it all in. Today's episode is a look back at an interview I did with Seth Godin who needs no introduction, but it would be a complete disservice to not share all of his accolades.  He's an author, entrepreneur, and most of all, a teacher.  In addition to launching one of the most popular blogs in the world, he has written 22 best-selling books, including The Dip, Linchpin, Purple Cow, Tribes, and This is Marketing, which was an instant bestseller in countries around the world.  His latest book, This is Strategy: Make Better Plans offers readers a practical framework for what an effective strategy looks like and feels like in today's fast-moving chaotic, and diverse world. This strategy allows readers to zoom out and see the bigger picture and understand the systems that are shaping their lives at work, in business, and day-to-day challenges.  Seth contends that by recognizing and mastering these systems and prioritizing long-term thinking over instant gratification, we can make smart, purposeful choices today that will lead to long-term growth. In my conversation with Seth, he shares his motivation for writing this book, the four elements that are critical for an effective strategy, and the importance of identifying and connecting with our smallest viable audience. On a personal note, when I started my product business in 2008, Seth's work was a major catalyst in helping me gain marketing momentum. He has a no-nonsense approach. He's concise and clear with his thoughts, and that resonates and gets your wheels turning, which you will hear in today's episode. Today's episode is brought to you by our Proof to Product LABS coaching program. This is a coaching program specifically built for product-based business owners, with members from across industries and across the globe. I'm the originator behind ControlAI's Direct Institutional Plan (the DIP), built to address extinction risks from superintelligence. My diagnosis is simple: most laypeople and policy makers have not heard of AGI, ASI, extinction risks, or what it takes to prevent the development of ASI. Instead, most AI Policy Organisations and Think Tanks act as if “Persuasion” was the bottleneck. This is why they care so much about respectability, the Overton Window, and other similar social considerations. Before we started the DIP, many of these experts stated that our topics were too far out of the Overton Window. They warned that politicians could not hear about binding regulation, extinction risks, and superintelligence. Some mentioned “downside risks” and recommended that we focus instead on “current issues”. They were wrong. In the UK, in little more than a year, we have briefed +150 lawmakers, and so far, 112 have supported our campaign about binding regulation, extinction risks and superintelligence. The Simple Pipeline In my experience, the way things work is through a straightforward pipeline: Attention. Getting the attention of people. At ControlAI, we do it through ads for lay people, and through cold emails for politicians. Information. How does that happen? My reply as a Therapist: "Because you 'promise' (or hold the potential) to fix and supplement an aspect of me which needs what you have - but I am not going to tell you that and make myself vulnerable."Say what? Yep."So you are saying that we gravitate to sameness (to compliment each other), as well as differenceness (to supplement my perceived deficits) - which I don't want you to know about and even I don't necessarily and consciously want to own that fact?"All very odd. Yep - because most of that dynamic lives in the unconscious, which is what Therapy with The Kairos Centre helps you with - to move as much from the unconscious into the conscious; so that when it is now in the conscious, you get the opportunity to try to do something about it; but just because it is now in the conscious does not mean you will be able to change what is now visible - quickly. It takes take to effect change. Why? Because you are going after patterns of behaviours set up in the childhood development period, where blueprints and templates were established and set in place and practised into adulthood. "So my thoughts and behaviours are going down a predictable course because of repeatedly practiced patterns of behaviours which have become neural pathways and it takes time to change well entrenched and well established patterns of behaviours which have become neural pathways?". Yep. You got it."Little wonder then that I set about trying to avoid getting it wrong again (by choosing that wrong type of partner) and to avoid that, I go to extreme opposite ends of the spectrum of attributes and blow me, I end up with someone where the same negative behaviours eventually show up again. Encourage everyone you know to switch to Catholic radio for Lent! Print out this sheet and pass it out to your fellow parishioners… ***** Good morning! On today’s show, Matt Swaim and Anna Mitchell welcome Rita Heikenfeld from About Eating to share meatless recipe ideas for Lent. Other guests include pastoral counselor Kevin Prendergast on why Jesus is not a mere therapist, and Courtney Brown from Ruah Woods to share insights into the Theology of the Body. Plus news, weather, sports, and more… ***** St. Jerome’s Prayer for God’s Mercy O Lord, show Your mercy to me and gladden my heart. I am like the man on the way to Jericho who was overtaken by robbers, wounded and left for dead. O Good Samaritan, come to my aid. I am like the sheep that went astray. O Good Shepherd, seek me out and bring me home in accord with Your will. Let me dwell in Your house all the days of my life and praise You for ever and ever with those who are there. Amen. ***** RECIPES FROM RITA: FRIED FISH AND COLE SLAW FISH FRY FRIED FISH (Like they serve at Lenten fish fries) Ingredients 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup milk – the proteins in milk help batter adhere and helps browning 1/2 cup very cold water – helps with crispiness 2 tablespoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt OR 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon or so of your favorite fish seasoning InstructionsWhisk flour, milk, water, baking powder, and salt/seasonings together until smooth.Heat oil in a deep fryer or deep heavy pan to 365 degrees.Pat fish fillets dry with paper towels to help ensure batter sticks – I do this on crumpled paper towels. Dip fish fillets into batter to coat and let excess drip off.Lower fillets, one at a time, into hot oil. Don’t crowd pan. Turn once, until cooked through and golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.Drain fried fish fillets on a wire rack over a paper-towel lined pan. (Don’t dry on paper towel alone – that creates steam). OLD FASHIONED COLE SLAW Ingredients 1 small cabbage shredded and chopped (about 6 cups) – can use red & green or equivalent bagged slaw mix 1 large carrot shredded 1 cup real mayonnaise 1/3 cup sugar 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar Lemon juice to taste – not too much, a teaspoon or so Salt and pepper to taste Instructions Combine mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Pour over cabbage and carrots. Mix well. Refrigerate until ready to serve. ***** Fr. Columba Jordan is online at ascensionpress.com. Series 5 – Episode 5 Hosts: Renee Chiuchiarelli & Julie Parks (Hammer & Heels) Length: ~12 minutes Format: Simply Trade Tips Episode Summary In this episode of Simply Trade Tips, Renee and Julie tackle a topic that doesn't always get the spotlight it deserves: learning. With trade rules shifting constantly — tariff changes, executive orders, enforcement priorities, and regulatory updates — relying on static training or tribal knowledge simply isn't enough. Traditional “calendar training” (scheduled webinars, annual sessions, policy rollouts) still has value, but it's disconnected from daily operations. The big idea? Learning must move from a side activity to core infrastructure. Renee and Julie introduce the concept of “inflow learning” — contextual, real-time training embedded directly into workflow systems. Instead of pausing work to learn, professionals access guidance at the exact moment they need it. This shift makes compliance more resilient, scalable, and defensible in today's enforcement environment. Key Topics Covered Why static training creates operational gaps The difference between: Calendar training (scheduled sessions) Inflow training (embedded, contextual learning) How automation can trigger learning during: Origin determinations Classification decisions Filing processes Audit reviews Role-based learning paths for importers, exporters, and compliance teams Micro-learning triggered by real-time errors Using AI to generate contextual training from existing materials Why regulators expect documented training as part of “reasonable care” How embedded learning reduces repeat errors and improves confidence Why knowledge in trade is no longer theoretical — it impacts entries, exports, and balance sheets immediately Key Takeaways Learning must be integrated into daily workflow, not isolated from it Automation supports better decision-making without replacing expertise Real-time learning reduces repeat errors and strengthens defensibility Training documentation can become powerful evidence during audits Trade compliance in today's environment requires resilience, not just proactivity This Episode's FIO (Figure It Out) Take a moment to evaluate your current training model: Is your team relying mostly on scheduled sessions? Do your systems provide contextual, real-time learning prompts? Have you asked your software provider about embedded guidance tools? Have you explored advanced or hybrid learning models that combine live instruction with digital access? Dip your toe in. Explore what's available. Demand better integration between learning and operations. Join the Conversation How is your organization approaching trade training in 2026? Are you relying on memory — or building infrastructure? Join us inside the Trade Geeks Community and share what you're doing to make learning more resilient. Credits Hosts: Renee Chiuchiarelli Julie Parks Producer: Lalo Solorzano

Was it 'Peers, banter and porn' which set up your sexual template, long before school Sex Ed - which got there way too late; the deed was already done. You give a wry smile when asked about Sex Ed at home from parents! For most - there was none at home; for others, if there was, it came way too late.Once the five senses of sight, smell, taste, touch & sound brings images and experiences onto the brain - those 'firsts' have already set up the templates - which will then be repeatedly played out in adulthood sexuality, as being 'right' and 'works'. Not necessarily true. They are templates, but they may not be accurate of 'right'. They are just what your brain experienced as 'first time' and the template is set up (whether wanted or not) and will reproduce and reproduce; churning out the same old, same old - 'seems to work'; (but you know it isn't working as you want it to work! The setting up of those templates during the childhood development period are called sexual myths. “It is the inconsistency of decisions which oftentimes bedevils a company's ultimate success. You create that consistency. You can also push decisioning down from the C-suite into the next operating level. That creates dynamism and speed in decision-making. Speed in decision-making creates faster turns in the capital in the business,” says Andrew Milgram, managing partner and chief investment officer of Marblegate Asset Management. Milgram discusses how his firm works with portfolio companies to improve processes for better operational outcomes in this episode of the State of Distressed Debt podcast. In his hour-plus conversation with Bloomberg Intelligence's Noel Hebert and Phil Brendel, Milgram shares his perspective on how Marblegate's direct-investing approach and focus on the middle market de-emphasizes the credit cycle. He also discusses First Brands Group, liability management exercises and his outlook for 2026. The podcast concludes with BI's Negisa Balluku joining to break down the latest legal developments at First Brands and Serta, followed by a discussion with Brendel and Hebert around Saks' DIP battle with Amazon and Axonic.

Most people don't quit fat loss at the start, when motivation is high, or at the end, when results are obvious. They quit in the middle. In this Mini Micropedia episode, Mikki unpacks why the middle phase of fat loss feels so uncomfortable, confusing, and tempting to abandon—and why it's actually where success is decided. Drawing on Seth Godin's concept of The Dip, Mikki explains how slowing scale changes, rising hunger, reduced novelty, and fuzzy feedback loops can make perfectly normal progress feel like failure. She breaks down the physiological and psychological shifts that happen during sustained fat loss, the three common lies people tell themselves in the middle, and why chasing a “new plan” is usually the worst move. This episode reframes the middle not as a problem to fix, but as the work itself—and shows how staying the course builds habits, self-trust, and sustainable results.Highlights / Topics CoveredWhat “The Dip” is and why it shows up in fat lossWhy slow progress doesn't mean stalled progressThe three lies that derail people mid-journeyReframing success as adherence, not scale movement Contact Mikki:https://mikkiwilliden.com/https://www.facebook.com/mikkiwillidennutritionhttps://www.instagram.com/mikkiwilliden/https://linktr.ee/mikkiwillidenSave 20% on all Nuzest Products WORLDWIDE with the code MIKKI at www.nuzest.co.nz, www.nuzest.com.au or www.nuzest.comCurranz supplement: MIKKI saves you 25% at www.curranz.co.nz or www.curranz.co.uk off your first order

Yes, there are now breeds of the modern woman who watch, talk and joke about it regularly, but most of us still stay farther away from speaking the word than we actually stay away from it...... but statistics show that, at least in Australia, more than one-third of pornography viewers are women. Just last week, I received an email from a girl who leads a small women's group; they'd just discovered that every single one of them were watching porn. When I was in high school, pornography was on the long list of "bad things" that I didn't know much about -- and unfortunately also on the list of things I had participated in. Never mind why I was watching it, the how is the same for nearly all of us: We stumbled upon it because of someone else. And none of us knew what to expect, or how to handle it.I wish someone had talked about how women watch it too, so I wouldn't have had to spend years living under the shame that comes with being "the only one" and thinking there was something wrong with me....."What are the psychosexual issues that we work with as Sex Therapists, which young people are storing up and manifests in their twenties.Erectile Dysfunction: Inability to get or keep an erectionDelayed/Retarded ejaculation: Inability or 'long' delay in being able to ejaculatePremature Ejaculation: Coming too quicklyVaginismus: Inability for penis to enter the vagina due to vaginal musclesDyspareunia: Female pain during vaginal penetrationSexual Desire Disorder: Little or no desire for sexLack of Orgasm: Inability to reach an OrgasmSpectatoring during sex: Coaching self during sex and so not fully presentGenital/body dysmorphia: Belief that genitals are not 'normal'Spermaphobia: Fear of ejaculation and specifically spermEurotophobia: Aversion to/fear of female genitaliaSickle cell Priapism: Ejection failure to reduce and is longlastingVulvar painGet some help from The Kairos Centre. AI Mirage or Misunderstanding: Why Executives See Speed and Operators See Friction

Learning Tech Talks

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 2, 2026 35:12

Everyone loves throwing around the word "hallucination,” so let's talk about the hallucination happening in the boardroom regarding AI efficiency. New data from the Wall Street Journal highlights a massive 38-point gap between leadership and frontline's perception of AI efficiency. While nearly 20% of executives claim to be saving over 12 hours a week, 40% of workers report saving zero time at all. Leaders are celebrating the speed of strategy, but they are missing the heavy lift of execution that is stalling their teams.  This week, I'm framing my conversation around a telling chart from the data that exposes the "Blueprint vs. Bricklaying" disconnect. What's hidden in the numbers is a fundamental misunderstanding of the physics of work. I'm highlighting why Strategy (changing a blueprint) feels instant with AI, while Execution (laying the bricks) often incurs an "implementation tax" before it yields any return. I'll explain why projecting your personal productivity gains onto your workforce is a leadership failure.  My goal is to strip away the "vibes-based management" to expose why your team isn't moving as fast as your prompt: The Efficiency Hallucination (Projection vs. Reality): Leaders aren't just optimistic; they are projecting. I break down why the C-Suite's "unstructured" thinking work is naturally accelerated by GenAI, while the rigid "doing" work of the frontline is currently weighed down by the friction of compliance and checking.   The "Time Saved" Trap (Metrics that Lie): We are measuring a knowledge revolution with factory metrics. I explain why "hours saved" is a dangerous KPI that encourages digital pollution and why you should pivot to measuring "friction removed" instead.   The J-Curve Reality (The Dip): Efficiency always dips before it spikes. I discuss why your teams are currently paying the "learning tax" tinkering and debugging and why demanding Q4 results in Q1 is a recipe for burnout.   The Leadership Mirror (Vibes vs. Validation): You cannot run a P&L on vibes. I challenge leaders to audit their own time: did you really save 12 hours, or did you just skip the stressful part of the work? If you don't reinvest that time into unblocking your team, you are failing the mirror test.  By the end, I hope you see this not as a critique of your optimism, but as a call to engineering. You cannot hallucinate efficiency into existence, and you cannot demand velocity without first removing the friction.⸻If this conversation helps you think more clearly about the future we're building, make sure to like, share, and subscribe. Women gravitated to webcam usage during lockdown – maybe coerced by partners making it seem like a necessary substitute. Many such females do not yet know they might be addicted until they try to stop. What is this thing called “Love Addiction”? Well, I believe it is all about trying to fill an Insecure Attachment need. What's that? Set up in childhood development where the bonding with key parental figures was not 'good enough'. “Say what!'. There may be a high level of sincere motivation to stop, but the physiology demand for its chemical fix, situational triggers and disturbing/upsetting feelings, causes a PART of the personality to sabotage. Logic goes offline. There is little care about the demands of the other PARTS of the personality. "I see, I desire, I want, so I take" kicks in. Immediate gratification rules. So, a lot of women worldwide, have become addicted or have a compulsion towards porn, but do not realise it. Arguably, there is greater 'Shame' for women, who then need to go deeper under ground and sty 'hidden. Stay means hide/hidden - don't tell or be found out. Remember SHAME + NARICISSISM = SEX ADDICTION.Some interesting stats from BACP Mindometer 2025 News from BACP: This annual survey into the state of the nation's mental health identified that almost two thirds (64%) of therapists say the public's mental health has deteriorated over the past year. Nearly all therapists identified financial pressures and the rising cost of living as major contributing factors, while 83% reported that war and global conflict have also negatively affected people's wellbeing. The survey gathered insights from almost 3,000 members, highlights several emerging trends:62% of therapists who work with men with addiction said they noticed a rise in alcohol addiction over the past yearOver half (53%) of therapists who work with men with addiction said they noticed a rise in porn addiction over the past yearWhat a shame the questions were focussed primarily on men. Key halachot include:Invalid waters: Salty, putrid, bitter, or muddy water is disqualified if unfit even for a dog to drink.Clean hands requirement: Hands must be free of interpositions (chatzitzah)—remove rings, clean under long nails, scrape off substantial dirt/paint; incidental coloring (e.g., ink stains) is not a chatzitzah, but substantial matter (paint, grease) is.For certain occupations (painters, dyers, butchers, scribes): Minor staining from their work is not a chatzitzah unless it covers most of the hand.Dressings/wounds: Band-aids or painful-to-remove coverings are not chatzitzah (same rule applies to mikvah immersion).Dipping foods: Wash hands (no blessing) before eating anything commonly dipped in liquid or still moist from liquid; seven liquids qualify (wine, honey, olive oil, milk/whey, blood [medicinal only], water); fruit juices or liquors generally do not.Preserves & butters: Hardened sugar/honey coatings are not liquid (no washing needed); soft/moist ones are.Hand foods vs. utensil foods: Dip hand-eaten foods require washing; spoon/fork foods do not if no hand contact.Practical notes: Soap is not required; focus on water coverage and one continuous flow. The rabbi stresses spiritual depth: washing humbles us before bread (countering "my power made this wealth") and prepares us for holiness. Where does your view come from? Is it your view or a 'hand me down?'What is for sure is that Therapy won't work until you are ready. But if you take too long (as the masses do), then the hand grenade may go off in your face and then you are left picking up shrapnel. Picking up shrapnel is to be re-active. What might shrapnel look like? NATO Flips, Trump Takes the Arctic | XRP & Bitcoin Buy the Dip? NATO just flipped. The Arctic is now center stage. And markets are reacting. From Davos openly admitting globalism is failing, to NATO leadership reversing course, to Trump pushing strategic leverage in the Arctic and Greenland — the global power structure is shifting fast. At the same time, cracks in the financial system are becoming impossible to ignore: • Banks exploiting settlement delays • Governments clawing back funds • Trust in institutions eroding So the real question becomes: is this fear… or opportunity? In this stream, we break down: • Why NATO's reversal matters more than headlines suggest • Why the Arctic and Greenland are suddenly strategic flashpoints • How Trump's deal-making approach is reshaping negotiations • What Davos didn't want to admit — and why it matters now • How XRP and Bitcoin fit into a world moving toward transparency • Whether this volatility signals a “buy the dip” moment or something deeper This isn't about left vs right. It's about power, leverage, money, and control in a system under stress.

Dr. Ryan Gray and Dr. Christine Crispin break down a realistic path from freshman year through application season. First year, be a college student: master study habits, time management, and campus life. Then add experiences gradually—a toe‑dip into service or shadowing—without sacrificing grades. Map your courses to the MCAT at your institution, and use advising sparingly but strategically to avoid wrong turns. Learn how small, consistent hours in clinical work, non‑clinical service, and shadowing compound over time and why research is valuable but not required unless you're MD‑PhD bound. They clarify what truly counts as clinical, how to choose non‑clinical service when options are limited, and why reflection and authenticity—not themes and checkboxes—elevate your application. Christmas Trees & B-17’s Originally aired in 2022 and written for the Plane Talking UK podcast Christmas show, Micah tells the story of Si Spiegel, who was still alive at the time of the writing. He flew west on January 21, 2024, at the age of 99. From the New York Times: Si Spiegel, War Hero Who Modernized Christmas Trees, Dies at 99. Spirit Airlines' debtor-in-possession (DIP) credit agreement Previously, we talked about Spirit Airlines and the Chapter 11 bankruptcy process. Specifically, we mentioned the Spirit Airlines' debtor-in-possession (DIP) credit agreement and wondered who was providing the additional funding to Spirit. Spirit Airlines entered into a Debtor In Possession Term Loan Credit and Note Purchase Agreement with Wilmington Savings Fund Society, FSB, which acts as both administrative agent and collateral agent. The actual lenders are the various DIP creditors that become parties to the agreement, with Wilmington Savings Fund Society representing their interests. In Spirit's restructuring, the DIP financing is being provided by existing bondholders and senior secured noteholders, who are referred to as the “DIP creditors” in the agreement. Those noteholders, acting through Wilmington Savings Fund Society as agent, supply the money that adds up to several hundred million dollars to fund operations during Chapter 11. In other words, no single bank is the economic lender; instead, the financing is syndicated across Spirit's existing secured noteholders and bondholders, with Wilmington only acting in an agency capacity. Form 10-K, Commission File No. 001-35186, Spirit Airlines, Inc. Debtor In Possession Term Loan Credit and Note Purchase Agreement. Poor Little Lambs, The Baa Baa Black Sheep Story Author Stephen “Chappie” Chapis spent nearly two decades researching, conducting interviews, and collecting rare materials to write Poor Little Lambs: The Baa Baa Black Sheep Story.
