In this episode of The Mel K Show, I am thrilled to welcome back my friend Chaz Holloway, author of Free World Theory. His work has challenged so many of us, myself included, to think differently about words, meanings, and the deeper truths behind the systems we live in. My mother and I both loved his book, and I always leave our conversations with more knowledge and perspective than when we began. This time is no different, as Chaz joins me to give an eye-opening presentation on one of the most urgent issues of our time: artificial intelligence. Chaz explains how AI has rapidly moved from science fiction into everyday reality. Jobs are being lost, deepfakes are flooding the internet, and bot armies are influencing public opinion on a massive scale. These are not small adjustments to our daily lives. They are fundamental shifts in how society functions, and most people have barely begun to grasp what they mean. We discuss the dangers of AI being weaponized to create new systems of control, including facial recognition, surveillance, and the potential for social credit scoring modeled after authoritarian regimes. Chaz highlights that many of the very engineers building these systems are now sounding alarms, warning that the consequences may be beyond anyone's ability to stop once certain thresholds are crossed. But this conversation is not just about fear. It is about awareness and preparation. Chaz has a unique gift for breaking down complex concepts into simple truths that anyone can understand. He reminds us that technology is a tool, and like any tool, it can be used for good or for harm. The key is to remain vigilant, informed, and engaged, rather than blindly accepting the narrative of those who profit from control. Here is what you will learn in this episode: How AI is already shaping our lives in ways most people do not recognize The dangers of deepfakes, bot networks, and propaganda powered by algorithms Why surveillance technology poses a threat to freedom in the West How the warnings of AI engineers should guide our vigilance What citizens can do to stay informed and resist systems of control Chaz also connects the rise of AI to larger philosophical and cultural questions. What does it mean to be human in a world where machines can replicate voices, faces, and even decisions? What does freedom look like when technology is integrated into every aspect of daily life? And how can we ensure that new tools serve the people instead of enslaving them? This episode is both a warning and a call to action. We cannot ignore what is unfolding before us. We must educate ourselves, support ethical uses of technology, and push back against those who seek to use AI as a weapon against liberty. Chaz Holloway's insights are timely, urgent, and deeply necessary. If you want to better understand the world we are stepping into, and how to protect yourself and your family from systems of control, this is a conversation you cannot miss. Romans 6:7 — The phrase “don't be a baby” is used in everyday language, but what does that imply? It does not mean that people should put aside their childish ways, but that they are no longer a child so they should act like an adult. In the sermon on Romans 6:7 titled “Freed from the Tyranny of Sin,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones expands on his previous sermon by highlighting the same emphasis that Paul writes about in this passage. Once again, Paul is confirming that the old self has died with Christ and so the Christian has been set free from sin. They are no longer under the reign of sin and should live in accordance to this truth. Those who are in Christ are justified from the guilt of sin. Paul once again proves the assurance of salvation. While mortal bodies may still be tempted with sin, Christ's Holy Spirit dwells within and are no longer under the rule of sin. In the final day when Christ calls the believers home to Heaven, mortal bodies will then be free of all temptation. Dr. Lloyd-Jones encourages God's people to lift their eyes to anticipate that glorious day.

The film includes never-before-seen footage from Zelenskyy's childhood and career. Join us for this historic conversation, plus a commentary from Laura.“I've always felt optimistic about this because [Ukraine is] on the side of truth. That's the kind of thing you can cover briefly, but it always comes out, it always surfaces. It's also the kind of thing that builds morale. It builds courage. It builds principle. They have that on their side, where the Russian military is struggling.” - Liev SchreiberGuest: Liev Schreiber: Award-Winning Actor, Director & Writer; Co-Founder, BlueCheck Ukraine This show is made possible by you! Today we discuss childhood, fitness, and self-defense; the through-line is freedom. First up: Illinois has become the first state in the Union to mandate mental health screening for children in grades 3 – 12, so that conditions from trauma to anxiety can be detected early. How mandatory will these screenings be? How confidential? What is anxiety, and why are children better off learning to experience and solve their own anxiety, than to be coddled at every turn? We argue that anxiety—like pain, and sadness—are signals from your brain and body that should be listened to rather than erased. Also: childhood is a time of exploration, of mixing reality with fantasy, and should not be a time when adults' fantasies are imposed on children. Then: the New York Times cannot abide that anything that RFK Jr. does or says makes sense. Finally: do people have the right to defend themselves inside their own homes? Have we forgotten habeas corpus? Are the foundations of democracy coming apart at the seams? *****Our sponsors:Branch Basics: Get 15% off Branch Basics with the code DARKHORSE at https://branchbasics.com/darkhorse #branchbasicspodJolie: Beautiful showerheads that filter out the garbage without reducing water pressure. In this bonus episode, Doug and I discuss a couple of recent studies that look at just how destructive cars are to the social fabric of our communities, how they decrease life satisfaction, and how walkable neighborhoods with public gathering places are an important resources for combating the loneliness epidemic. As we often say, we have custom-built our communities for cars, in the name of convenience. That obviously sucks for those of us who don't want to drive. But the crazy thing is, as we have often pointed out, that it also sucks for people who do think that driving it's a terrific way to get around. Like Pepsi in 1984, coffee is the "Choice of a New Generation"... but maybe not in the same way as we of older generations are comfortable with. The ways digital natives are consuming coffee today may be unique, but as with all coffee consumers before and after, they are seeking the identity, belonging, utility, and promises associated with coffee and the community it has always facilitated. The question we need to ask is how do we in the world f coffee shops acknowledge, welcome, include, adn understand these very important consumers? To help us explore this we are chatting with friend of the show and deep thinker extraordinaire, Kosta Kallivrousis! In a culture deeply skeptical of authority, Jesus offers a revolutionary model of leadership. By uniting the roles of judge, priest, king, and prophet, Jesus could have become the ultimate tyrant. Instead, at His baptism, God declared Him both King (Psalm 2:7) and Servant (Isaiah 42:1). Throughout His ministry, Jesus consistently rejected power without service, even when tempted by Satan in the wilderness and mocked at the cross. This servant-king model transforms our understanding of authority—showing that true leadership combines power with selfless service to others. The future of Christianity depends on followers embracing this countercultural approach of denying ourselves and living for others rather than seeking power for its own sake.

So many businesses are stuck in old-school command chains that slow everything down—ideas get filtered, approvals drag on, and by the time action happens, the moment's already passed. It's not that people lack good ideas—it's that the structure doesn't let them breathe. In a world where things shift overnight, the companies that cling to rigid control often find themselves left behind. Sometimes the biggest risk isn't trying something new—it's staying stuck in what once worked but no longer does. Rod Collins, author of Nobody is Smarter than Everybody, is known for helping companies move beyond traditional management. Today, he explores the tension between centralized control and decentralized collaboration—especially in the context of AI development. He warns that top-down systems risk turning AI into a tool of control, while peer-driven models can unlock its full human potential. His message is clear: the future of AI depends on how we choose to organize ourselves. Stay tuned! Quotes: “Innovation, in its first phase, is always disruptive. It's always some form of dissonance, and companies have to allow that.” “The real job of intelligence is uncovering unknowns as rapidly as we can, as early as we can, so that we are able to innovate and move as fast as the world around us.” “It isn't a war between humans and machines; it will be symbiosis.” Resources: Rod Collins | Exploring the Prerational Space, The Paradox of the Innovator: The Visionary vs The Daydreamer Rod Collins Connect with Rod Collins on LinkedIn

Send us a textResistance to tyrants is obedience to God. Founder of Tree of Liberty Society Ben McClintock is back on the show tonight talking about standing against tyranny and paying the price against the people who wanted to steal his daughter. We all have the power of nullification and other attacks by the State and he is working to educate citizens on the principles of liberty and expose those conspiring to take away your freedom. It's time for you to become a part of a community taking action. Understanding the reality of conspiracy is essential. Numerous historical and contemporary sources confirm the existence of a vast effort to overthrow freedom and impose control over all nations. Gavin Newsom may be presiding over a failing California — a state crippled by homelessness, crime, high taxes, and mass exodus — but make no mistake, he’s no bumbling fool. Newsom is slick, articulate, and relentlessly ambitious. He fights, he spins, and he sells a utopian progressive vision that crumbles in reality but dazzles on camera. The most dangerous part? He’s tailor-made for the white liberal woman voter — the key demographic Democrats count on to swing elections. Newsom’s blend of Hollywood looks, polished rhetoric, and ruthless political instincts make him a formidable threat in 2028 or sooner. This isn’t just a failed governor — it’s a wolf in a perfectly tailored suit, ready to charm the country into the same ruin he’s brought to California.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Hitler, Stalin, and Mao ruled through violence, fear, and ideology. But in recent decades a new breed of media-savvy strongmen has been redesigning authoritarian rule for a more sophisticated, globally connected world. In place of overt, mass repression, rulers such as Vladimir Putin, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Viktor Orbán control their citizens by distorting information and simulating democratic procedures. Like spin doctors in democracies, they spin the news to engineer support. Uncovering this new brand of authoritarianism, Sergei Guriev and Daniel Treisman explain the rise of such “spin dictators,” describing how they emerge and operate, the new threats they pose, and how democracies should respond. Spin Dictators traces how leaders such as Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew and Peru's Alberto Fujimori pioneered less violent, more covert, and more effective methods of monopolizing power. They cultivated an image of competence, concealed censorship, and used democratic institutions to undermine democracy, all while increasing international engagement for financial and reputational benefits. The book reveals why most of today's authoritarians are spin dictators—and how they differ from the remaining “fear dictators” such as Kim Jong-un and Bashar al-Assad. Spin Dictators: The Changing Face of Tyranny in the 21st Century (Princeton UP, 2022) is aimed at a general audience, synthesizing a vast amount of qualitative and quantitative research by the authors and many other scholars. The book is highly readable, with a great mix of anecdotes and examples along with plain-English explanations of academic research findings. However, it also provides an excellent overview of contemporary global authoritarianism for academics. Almost every claim in the book has an endnote reference to the original research for those who want to follow up. The endnotes mean that despite its moderately intimidating 340-page heft, the main text is a very approachable 219 pages. Daniel Treisman is a professor of political science at the University of California, Los Angeles and a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. His research focuses on Russian politics and economics as well as comparative political economy, including in particular the analysis of democratization, the politics of authoritarian states, political decentralization, and corruption. In 2021-22, he was a visiting fellow at Stanford University's Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences and he was recently named a 2022 Andrew Carnegie Fellow. A graduate of Oxford University (B.A. Hons.) and Harvard University (Ph.D. 1995), he has published five books and numerous articles in leading political science and economics journals including The American Political Science Review and The American Economic Review, as well as in public affairs journals such as Foreign Affairs and Foreign Policy. He has also served as a consultant for the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and USAID. In Russia, he has been a member of the International Advisory Committee of the Higher School of Economics and a member of the Jury of the National Prize in Applied Economics Peter Lorentzen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of San Francisco, where he leads a new Master's program in Applied Economics focused on the digital economy. Should the bus be free? That's the question everyone following the New York City mayoral race is asking, with Democratic primary winner Zohran Mamdani promising to focus on fast, free buses if he's elected to City Hall. Eliminating bus fares is a big idea, but is it a good one? Like a lot of things in politics, there's no simple answer. That's why we asked Yonah Freemark — a researcher in cities, land use, and transportation at the Urban Institute — to walk us through the pros and cons of making the bus free for everyone. Whatever you think about it, the good news is that everyone is talking about bus riders. That's a win in our book. Ever look back at something you obsessed over… and now you can't even remember why? This episode's about that gap. The gap between what you care about today and what future-you will actually give a damn about. We'll talk about puppies that can't tell a cushion from a laptop, people who think their city is the center of the world, and why your 16-year-old self thought video games were the meaning of life. Turns out, value isn't fixed. It drifts. Sometimes overnight. Sometimes over decades. The trick is spotting which things are worth fighting for and which will fade like old Instagram filters. Three takeaways: Audit your current priorities—80% probably don't matter long-term. Build habits around values, not just goals. Get perspective by stepping outside your normal environment. Steven Levitsky, a leading expert on authoritarian regimes, joins host Alex Lovit to talk about the US's current slide into authoritarianism and what we can do about it. Democracies tolerate dissent. In a democracy, citizens and institutions can criticize, protest, or file legal claims against the government, without fear of reprisal. That is no longer true of the US today, which means that the US is no longer a full democracy. Steven Levitsky is the David Rockefeller Professor of Latin American Studies and professor of government and director of the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies at Harvard University. Along with many acclaimed academic works, he is the coauthor (with Daniel Ziblatt) of two bestselling books about threats to democracy: 2018's How Democracies Die and 2023's Tyranny of the Minority: Why American Democracy Reached the Breaking Point. He is also a senior fellow at the Charles F. Kettering Foundation.

America Out Loud PULSE with Dr. Randall Bock – Public health is no longer about care—it's about control. From genetically engineered ticks to coerced vaccination, the system bypasses informed consent in the name of the “greater good.” Covert coercion, legal threats, and weaponized bioethics erode autonomy. Is America approaching the point where peaceful reform is no longer enough? In this powerful episode of The P.A.S. Report Podcast, Professor Nick Giordano responds to a listener's bold question: do the government's abuses rise to the level the Founders warned about? Drawing from the Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers, and the Founders' own words, Professor Giordano separates policy disagreements from true tyranny. He also explains how we can still fight back using the tools built into the Constitution. From censorship and lawfare to the Chevron ruling and the rise of the Fourth Branch, this episode is a wake-up call for every American who senses something is deeply wrong. Episode Highlights: A listener's powerful question sparks a deep dive into whether America's government abuses justify revolution or demand reform How the Founders defined tyranny, what "a long train of abuses" really means, and how modern examples like the CIA spying on Congress and the Russia hoax measure up Why the Supreme Court's reversal of the Chevron doctrine marks a historic turning point in reining in the unelected Fourth Branch of government
On this episode of Stinchfield, Grant welcomes conservative icon and constitutional warrior Mark Levin for a no-holds-barred interview about his explosive new book On Power. Levin breaks down the dangerous rise of authoritarianism in America, exposing how the radical left is weaponizing government, crushing dissent, and seizing control of every institution that matters—from the media to the classroom to the courtroom. Grant and Mark dive deep into: The Marxist roots behind the Democrats’ lust for power Why the Constitution is hanging by a thread—and how we fight back The role of the DOJ, FBI, and the deep state in silencing political enemies The terrifying parallels between today’s America and failed tyrannies of the past If you’re tired of the lies, the corruption, and the cowardice from so-called Republicans who won’t stand up—this episode will light a fire under you. Grant and Levin lay out the roadmap to reclaim our Republic before it’s too late.
