Send us a textWelcome to another unfiltered Ones Ready daily drop, where we scan the Pentagon's inbox so you don't have to. Today's episode is jammed with everything from micro nuclear reactors to the Space Command slap fight, and we even toss in some childcare policy chaos—because why not?Jared breaks down what the Air Force and Space Force are actually up to (spoiler: some of it's impressive, some of it's… less so). Whether it's China's hypersonic flexing, Germany's Starlink breakup, or another case of “Oops, we deleted history” with the Thunderbirds' first female pilot, it's all here. Oh, and did we mention a rocket plant exploded? That happened too. This one's for the curious, the cynical, and everyone wondering what the hell is going on at the Air Force Academy.

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - break down what they saw from Day Five of UW Spring Football, held Thursday afternoon at the Dempsey Indoor Facility next to Husky Stadium. And it was definitely a day for work in the Dempsey because the weather in Seattle couldn't make up its mind. Half the day was sunny and breezy; the other half was flat-out stormy. The guys talk about their standouts on both sides of the ball, starting with the offense and then moving to the defense. With so many players limited or out, it certainly has given opportunities for the younger players, like true freshmen OL John Mills and Champ Taulealea and true frosh WR Chris Lawson. And on defense there were a number of cornerbacks that didn't participate today, which meant guys like Caleb Presley, Rahshawn Clark, D'Aryhian Clemons and Rylon Dillard-Allen were taking even more first and second team reps than normal. After a quick break Scott talks about three unofficial visitors that were spotted at practice and also hints at some news coming down the pike soon in regards to UW's recruiting efforts. And Kim talks a little bit about today's news regarding the return of shooting guard Wesley Yates to Montlake after a year at USC. What happens when life veers completely off the path you expected—and there's no guidebook for where you're headed? In this deeply moving episode of The 1000 Hours Outside Podcast, Ginny Yurich is joined by Will Acuff, author of No Elevator to Everest, to talk about the transformation that unfolds when we shift from surviving to thriving through spirit-led self-awareness. Will opens up about his raw, honest journey as a husband and father navigating complex PTSD, disabilities, scarcity mindsets, and burnout, while also leading a thriving nonprofit in Nashville. With humor and humility, he shares how learning to ask new questions—like what if we decided to live differently?—radically reshaped his home, his faith, and his future. From parenting through exhaustion to planning a leap-of-faith summer in the Costa Rican jungle, Will brings the hope-filled message that joy can be cultivated—even when nothing on the outside changes. Listeners will be inspired by his practical tools for healing, the spiritual power of play and curiosity, and the gentle challenge to rethink what we believe about success, provision, and purpose. First: President Trump just wrapped up a pivotal phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He says they are "very much on track" for a ceasefire deal. Plus: The president is unleashing a full-throttle attack on the federal judge who derailed Trump's deportation plans. The courts are pushing back and sending a clear message that there are limits to presidential powers. And: Democratic critics are still furious at Chuck Schumer for not fighting harder against a Republican spending bill. But that's not what the party's base wants to hear. [EP 25-109] Have you considered all the things that President Trump and his team are addressing? It's a lot to take in. Tariffs and dealing with our northern and southern neighbors. Here is what the president said about Canada.Pres Trump on Canada Ripped off for years. We're not going to bend. Subjected to cost we should have been subjected to. $200B a year to subsidize them. We don't need anything they produce. We do it because we want to be helpful. You know my feelings on Canada. I don't want a 51st state that is as leftist as Canada. But the fact is, we don't need them. And if that pisses off Canadians, then so be it. They wouldn't be the first country who hates Americans, would they? Moreover, I don't care if we have relations with Canada in any way other than we understand they border us. We wouldn't allow Russia or China to invade via their border. Strategically, that's all they are…next to us.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-kevin-jackson-show--2896352/support.

In this bumper edition we begin with Labour's leaked plans to cut welfare spending by £6 billion. £5 billion to come from making it harder to claim Personal Independence Payments. Five Scottish Labour MPs have put their names to a letter supporting these "reforms" as " truly progressive". We look at the cuts, wonder if this could be the final nail in the coffin of Scottish Labour, and Lesley compares and contrasts the UK response to the Ukraine crisis with that of Germany. The USA's change in stance under Trump to the Ukraine war and the Western Alliance in NATO prompted erstwhile Westminster SNP leader Ian Blackford to call for the SNP to switch to a multilateral position on nuclear disarmament. We examine the UK's independent nuclear deterrent and question both its independence and its value as a deterrent.Lesley watched the C4 documentary about Michael Sheen's campaign to not only personally pay off £1 million of debt owed by folk from his local area but also his long term project aimed at highlighting social injustice and the impact of credit finance companies on vulnerable communities.https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2025/mar/10/michael-sheen-interview-secret-million-pound-giveaway-port-talbotOur attention also turns to the USA. Are we deluding ourselves over popular opposition to Trump's policies? Will the Democrats find the spine to use the disruptive tactics employed by the Republicans during the Obama and Biden presidencies? All this plus Elaine C Smith, Brian Cox, and Gone With The Wind. ★ Support this podcast ★

Tariffs on Mexico paused for another month If this feels like déjà vu, we hear you. Today, President Trump announced another month-long pause in the implementation of tariffs on Mexico. The US Commerce Secretary says it's likely that tariff relief will come to both of our neighbors. The back-and-forth of it all hasn't been good for the stock market, which relies on stability. Inside Sources discusses the instability and how it’s affecting Pres. Trump’s polling. On the Hill 2025: Referendum coming on public labor union bill One of the most controversial bills this legislative session was House Bill 267, which banned public labor unions from being able to collective bargain with their employers. Now, several of those groups are banding together to launch a referendum for the ballot, seeking to repeal the bill. Hosts Greg Skordas and Morgan Lyon Cotti discuss the potential success or failure of the movement. On the Hill 2025: Expanding access to Utah’s state parks With so much talk of cuts to the federal workforce -- including park and forest service officers -- it's brought up questions of how the state can step in to promote our own state parks. State Rep. Doug Welton is pushing a bill that would expand accessibility access in Utah's State Parks, hoping to make it easier for everyone to enjoy the outdoors. He joins the show to talk more about his bill. On the Hill 2025: Several tax cuts coming to Utah families Utahns will soon see several tax cuts thanks to the state legislature. It's a continuation of a trend with lawmakers -- they've cut taxes in some form year after year. This morning, Senate and House Majority leadership outlined several of the cuts. Executive Appropriations Vice Chair State Representative Walt Brooks explains who will be most affected by the cuts. Pres. Trump uniting, dividing Democrats all at the same time This morning, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to censure Texas Rep. Al Green for his outbursts during President Trump's address to Congress earlier this week. 10 Democrats joined all Republicans in the vote. It's an example of how President Trump is both unifying and dividing Democrats. The Inside Sources hosts discuss the effect Trump is having on Democrats. Effort to get more women involved in Utah politics One organization is working to get more women involved in Utah politics... but as candidates themselves. Utah's political groups have become more equal in the makeup between men and women, but the parity is getting closer. Becky Edwards, Board Member of Utah Women Run joins Inside Sources to share more. Growing threats on federal judges nationwide Federal judges say the number of threats they're receiving is growing day-by-day. And now, the U.S. Marshal's service has issued a warning of those growing threats. KSL Legal Analyst Greg Skordas shares his thoughts on the most recent attacks on America’s judiciary.
