Suicide Squad (2016) can be pinpointed as the exact moment Warner Bros' DCEU film universe died - but seems they wanted to take another shot at it. Before the release of The Suicide Squad (2021) - I invite two guests to weigh in on their thoughts surrounding the 2016 version and ask if the movie still deserves the hate that it received 5 years later. The sound quality in this episode is a little wonky due to recording difficulties - but it's still a good one if you're willing to soldier through. As always, thanks for stopping by! Tired of hearing about the Snyder Cut? Well, rest easy my friends! Because now there's a new cause to rally behind, which will soon flood all of your social media feeds for the next several years. #RestoreTheSnyderVerse is the new trending battle-cry of all the fans who celebrated a victory when the evil empire, known as WB, was forced to bend their knees and #ReleaseTheSnyderCut on March 18 2021. Since then, the evil empire has announced a departure from the so-called SnyderVerse in favor of a trail that has already been blazed by the House of Mouse (Disney), with their Marvel Cinematic Universe. Your eyes do not deceive you! Warner Bros executives have openly admitted to wanting to copy their competition in the Post-Snyder Cut world, and battle them on the new streaming platform warzone. This episode a brief retelling of the Origin of the Snyder Cut and a general overview of some of the good things about it. And here it is folks! This episode is the follow up to the "Pre-Snyder Cut Release Discussion" - where members of the NerdGab community come together to discuss their thoughts about the story of legend that is Zack Snyder's Justice League. I admit - much like the Snyder Cut itself - this is a loooooooong episode. But if you're just here for the ride, thank you! As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts too! So be sure to follow me: https://linktr.ee/NerdGab
Are ya ready kids?! Once upon a time, Zack Snyder tried to tell a magnificent story of legend. He faced hardship and tragedy and ultimately ended his quest. But there was a silly studio and a bad man, who plotted to shape the story of legend into their own abomination. They hacked and butchered the hopes and dreams of all DC fans from across the land. In the wake of their destruction of a franchise, a small prayer gave light to those who still believed: #ReleasetheSnyderCut - but the silly studio would not yield. That is until the prayer became a movement, and the movement became a reality. Alas, Zack Snyder returns valiantly - he smites the villainous studio, and the bad man, and restores the story of legend. The fans were grateful for his victory, and order had returned. Thus, the #SnyderCut releases March 18 2021. This episode is a discussion and reflection of Joss Whedon's 'Josstice League' and our pre-Snyder Cut anticipations. Thank you for listening! Why did Wonder Woman 1984 disappoint so many fans? This episode points out some of the issues we had with WW84, and joining me on this episode are the voices of Krystal and Lindsay. After watching Wonder Woman 1984 twice, I can say with absolute certainty, that it was a terrible movie. Now obviously, there are many people who liked Wonder Woman 1984, as it has enough to please the simplest of audiences, but the biggest problem with this movie is actually the story and the poor approach to writing. The story was not cohesive, the performances were not at their best, and the action was boring. And most of all, when compared to its predecessor, it fails in comparison. One can even say it fails wonderfully!
Christopher Nolan has done it again! Tenet is a not-for-dummies kind of movie, but it's ok, "Don't try to understand it...FEEL IT" In this episode, my guest-host David and I share our first impressions, and thoughts, after watching this mind-boggling, stop-the-bomb action/sci-fi thriller. And it's ok if you don't understand what we're talking about, just feel it! (Spoilers...or whatever) Follow me on social media, where I post more movie content!
