This episode features a reading of the article I published with Dr. Amy M. Davis in the special issue of Alphaville about Disney at 100 years. This was a fun paper to write and read, and I hope you enjoy! Being a Fan of Disney: The Book is available on Amazon in Kindle, Paperback, and Hardback versions, with an Audible version forthcoming. The book is available at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CM427LF3/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1698697971&sr=8-1. There's a reason why the subject of Disney is a source of unlimited and unprecedented vitriol from Teebs and KidPhoenix. They own ... EVERYTHING! Marvel and the MCU. Star Wars. Theme Parks. Merchandising. Disney and that f*ing mouse have their hands in so much pop culture that it's almost tradition to rake that corporation over the coals every series. It's "Teebs & KidPhoenix Mandated Disney Receipt Bringing" on this podcast! New theme music produced by Danya Vodovoz. The link to this song and his Soundcloud are here. Well, it's a travel agency for starters, but its name is actually a combination of “travel” and “animation.” In this episode of Selling the Mouse, delve into the agency's name, strong sense of branding and more with president Adam Duckworth. This is an episode like no other. We begin by bringing you our full disclosure review of the new Disney+ film Disenchanted. However, the Disney World was rocked fifteen minutes into our recording when the new was reported that Bob Chapek was stepping down as CEO of the company, and that Bob Iger would resume his old position effective immediately. It seemed only right at that point that we pivot away from what we found to be a lackluster film to discuss the breaking news. If you are concerned about spoilers to Disenchanted begin at the 14 minute mark of the episode. Preparation meets opportunity Ashley Brown is a Broadway superstar. She stepped into the lead role of Belle in Beauty and the Beast before originating the titular role of Mary Poppins. We had a chance to speak with her just as she's heading to Walt Disney World to perform in the Disney on Broadway series as part of the Epcot Festival of the Arts. In addition to her love for all things Disney, we spoke to her about how she prepared for the opportunities that lead her to Broadway. This is a great conversation for anyone considering a future in musical theatre, or just wants to follow their own dreams. We are so grateful that she shared her time and talents with us, she really is practically perfect in every way. Why are Kellogg's being sued? What's wrong with the latest Workhorse van? And how much does OnlyFans magnate Black China make? Find out on this week's Playing FTSE Podcast! This week we welcome Paul back after a two week spell on the sidelines. And he's straight back into the thick of the action with a game all of his own design! Following the IPO of Amazon-backed, Ford-backed, T-Rowe Price-backed EV manufacturer Rivian, Paul tests the Steves on some facts about Rivian and how its revenues (yes -- Rivian's revenues) relate to some other famous individuals and companies. In other EV news this week, Elon Musk has been instructed via Twitter to offload 10% of his Tesla shares. With Musk seemingly looking for reasons to sell one way or another, we discuss what might really be going on behind the scenes. Find out what Michael Burry had to say on the subject and find out which of us didn't vote in the poll put out by Elon himself. As earnings season continues to roll on, we talk about the earnings from Disney. A company that each of us owns, Disney put out disappointing numbers to end the July-September quarter. Find out what the Steves think of Bob Chapek at an unprofessional level, what the disappointing numbers show about the way the company is being viewed as a growth story, and how Paul plans to compare Disney to Netflix. In more disappointing earnings news, Beyond Meat's stock has been getting hit as a result of an earnings miss and some weak guidance for the next quarter. In the light of yet more bad news, we discuss the significance of analyst expectations, what role they play in our thinking, and how we use them in making our investing decisions. Steve W also looks forward to the McPlant burger from Beyond Meat, Paul congratulates himself on selling it at the right time, and Steve D reflects on the fact that he can't taste anything at all after testing positive for COVID. All in this week's Playing FTSE!

We are truly honored to welcome to Beyond the Mouse, Alan Menken. Alan's work has inspired millions. Having begun his career on Broadway, he and his writing partner Howard Ashman brought their talent to The Little Mermaid. That film is credited with saving Walt Disney Animation, and ushering a new era dubbed the Disney Renaissance. Alan has gone onto work on such Disney classics as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tangled, Enchanted and so many more. He has earned one Emmy, 11 Grammys, eight Oscars and one Tony. This makes him one of only 16 people to have earned an EGOT. Alan became a Disney Legend in 2001. On this week's Disney News episode of the All About the Mouse Disney podcast, I'm covering all of the news items that occurred throughout the Disney company during the month of March. We saw an optimistic month in March with the announcement of a re-opening date at Disneyland, dates for the 2021 International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot, the planned opening of Remy's Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot on WDW's 50th anniversary, possibly Disney Cruise Line sailings beginning again in summer 2021, and much more!
Tired of hearing about the Snyder Cut? Well, rest easy my friends! Because now there's a new cause to rally behind, which will soon flood all of your social media feeds for the next several years. #RestoreTheSnyderVerse is the new trending battle-cry of all the fans who celebrated a victory when the evil empire, known as WB, was forced to bend their knees and #ReleaseTheSnyderCut on March 18 2021. Since then, the evil empire has announced a departure from the so-called SnyderVerse in favor of a trail that has already been blazed by the House of Mouse (Disney), with their Marvel Cinematic Universe. Your eyes do not deceive you! Warner Bros executives have openly admitted to wanting to copy their competition in the Post-Snyder Cut world, and battle them on the new streaming platform warzone. This episode a brief retelling of the Origin of the Snyder Cut and a general overview of some of the good things about it. Each and every week, I see feedback and posts from listeners about some really interesting and intriguing Disney topics and, this week, I'd like to share some of those with you all. Alan Dean Foster, famous science fiction and fantasy author responsible for many of the early Star Wars novelizations (including erstwhile Star Wars sequel "Splinter of the Mind's Eye"), has alleged that he has not been receiving royalties for the sales of his Lucasfilm-related books after Disney's acquisition of the company. What is Mr. Foster's precise claim? How does it relate to what we know of the publishing of the books in question? Of the Disney acquisition? Of Mergers and Acquisition law? And does any of that even matter if there is a contract somewhere which says Mr. Foster is owed money on the sales of his books? Let's dive in. On this week's Friday with Friends listener interaction show, I'll share more listener-submitted feedback, comments, and things shared on our All About the Mouse Disney podcast Facebook group including thoughts on Disney and FuelRod charging for cell phone charger swaps, tips spurred from Episode 525 on saving money in the parks, some fun audio, and much more!
On this week's feature episode of the All About the Mouse Disney podcast, we are getting into the spirit for Halloween with audio from Magic Kingdom's "Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular" castle stage show. The show, which debuted 4 years ago, is a central feature of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and features the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus alongside some of the more frightening Disney villains from movies like Princess and the Frog and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Enjoy this special Halloween audio on this special feature episode!
On this week's Friday with Friends listener interaction show, I'll share some questions and posts from our listeners from the All About the Mouse Disney podcast Facebook group. I'll tell you where you can find the famous, yet elusive, Carrot Cake Cookie, share some Disney experiences you can have at a museum near you, feature a song and a movie review from our favorite viral Disney family, The Crosbys, and much more!
On this week's Friday with Friends show, I'm featuring audio from a Q&A discussion with actor Jeff Goldblum from the Wizard World Chicago comicon this past weekend. In this very entertaining Q&A, Jeff Goldblum goes into much detail about his new series with National Geographic that will be exclusively available on Disney+ called "The World According to Jeff Goldblum". a HUGE thank you goes out to Blake Reilly, a good friend of the show and a loyal listener, from The Blake and Sal Show for recording this and featuring it right here on the All About the Mouse Disney podcast!
On this week's feature discussion episode of the All About the Mouse Disney podcast, one of our listeners, Stefani Barnett, joins me to talk about the experiences she and her family have had watching the amazing Epcot nighttime spectacular, Illuminations, from the comfort of their own private boat adjacent to the World Showcase Lagoon. Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Marina is the place where you can charter your own private fireworks cruise boat complete with captain and take in the show from a perspective that you can't get anywhere else. Together, we'll review the experience and talk about why you might just want to book this experience on your next Walt Disney World vacation.
On this week's Friday with Friends listener interaction show, one of our listeners Latesha recently intrigued me with an article on the All About the Mouse Disney podcast Facebook group about a theme park located in New York City in the early 1960's called "Freedomland" that was inspired by and even had connections with Disneyland. I was so fascinated by the story of Freedomland, that I invited Mike Virgintino, author of "Freedomland U.S.A.: The Definitive History" to join me for a more detailed look at this park and it's 7 themed lands based on the historical aspects of the United States of America. Mike will walk us through from before the beginning with a developer by the name of C.V. Wood who was Disneyland's first employee to the inevitable demise and bankruptcy of the park.
On this week's Friday with Friends listener interaction show, I'll share some posts and thoughts shared by our listeners on the All About the Mouse Disney podcast Facebook group. There have been lots of things shared on the group since the last time we featured some of these including thoughts and a story about a social media rant about childless people visiting Disney theme parks, enjoying an evening at one of my favorite nighttime spots in all of Walt Disney World, another Disney instrumental recorded by The Piano Guys, and more!
On this week's Friday with Friends listener feedback episode, I'll share some things posted by our listeners on the All About the Mouse Disney podcast Facebook group. Together, we'll hear an Avatar musical piece recorded by The Piano Guys and filmed in Pandora at Disney's Animal Kingdom. We'll also look at a story about Freedomland and its connection to Disney, feature a cautionary story about service dogs in the parks, answer a question about when Disneyland makes the switch to Haunted Mansion Holiday, and more!
On this week's feature discussion show, we're doing something a little different and a little unrelated to Disney. As many of you who follow me on social media may know, I just returned from another one of our amazing family road trip adventures, where we spent a week and half driving around the country, seeing amazing sights from the Smokey Mountains to the Rocky Mountains and a ton of other things in between, and we did it all spontaneously making the plans up as we went. My wife, Amy, is here to recap it all with me, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride on this week's episode of the All About the Mouse Disney podcast.
On this week's Friday with Friends listener interaction show, I'm sharing some posts and answering questions from the All About the Mouse Disney podcast Facebook group. Some things that we'll talk about include must-do attractions for Disneyland first-timers, Disney Imagineer John Hench's mystery surrounding the creation of Disneyland's Snow White's Grotto, a touching tribute to Notre Dame that sits atop Sleeping Beauty Castle, and much more!
On this week's Friday with Friends listeners interaction show, we're live streaming with our listeners on Facebook Live as I share with you an in-park recording that I took of the Magic Kingdom nighttime fireworks show Happily Ever After. This show replaced the Wishes nighttime show back in 2017, and it is quickly becoming a favorite among park-goers between the state of the art castle projection technology, amazing fireworks display, and its mixture of music from both classic and newer contemporary Disney films. Get ready to experience Happily Ever After like you never have before right here on the All About the Mouse Disney podcast.
On this week's Friday with Friends episode, Sarah Evans joins us for a discussion topic posed on the All About the Mouse Disney podcast Facebook group about what we think the "worst" Disney attractions are. Every Disney attraction has its place in the park and there's a fan for every attraction, but there are always those attractions that people love to hate. We'll explore some of those and much more!
On this episode of the All About the Mouse Disney podcast, we revisit a topic which was featured on the very first episode of the show: Hidden Mickeys. This time, instead of looking in the parks, we'll look at and explore some of my favorite hidden homages to everyone's favorite mouse at several of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Looking for and spotting these subtle references to Mickey and other Disney properties is a fun way to experience the resort hotels while taking some down time from the parks.
On this week's Friday with Friends listener interaction episode of the All About the Mouse Disney podcast, we feature a previously recorded Facebook live broadcast and talk about all things Christmas and Disney featuring questions and comments from our listeners including attractions that we'd like to see with a Holiday overlay, which one Christmas thing we would do in the parks, and more.
