In this episode of For The Dads with Former NFL Linebacker Will Compton, hosts Will and Sherman break down Will’s Christmas trip to New York City that turned into full-blown chaos when Will’s entire family got sick. What should’ve been a magical holiday quickly became a crash course in dad survival, patience, and choosing humor when everything goes sideways. The episode kicks off with Christmas chaos from the jump, as Will recaps how fast plans unraveled, why he still loves NYC, and what it’s like parenting through sickness while trying to keep the holiday spirit alive. The boys then dive into gift-giving expectations, fan comments, and the pressure dads feel to make Christmas “perfect.” Other highlights include: Uncle Derrik’s gifts to the pod• Will and Sherman’s favorite gifts growing up• An absolutely insane dad hack from a caller• Why choosing joy beats stressing over things you can’t control —--- TIMELINE 00:00 - Christmas Chaos 9:00 - Will loves NYC 45:00 - Gift Giving 1:01:00 - The fellas read some fan comments 1:22:00 - Caller leaves an INSANE dad hack 1:24:33 - Will reads some emails 1:33:00 - Choose joy over stress —--- For The Dads is for every guy who needs a place to talk, vent, and laugh about all the insane, hilarious, and chaotic sh** (sometimes literal) that comes with being a dad. Hosted by Will Compton–NFL Vet, creator of Bussin' With the Boys, and proud dad of two. This show isn’t about expert advice and how fatherhood is the greatest thing on earth—it’s about embracing the love and suck of parenthood every day. From balancing work and family to battling the mental load, fears, and the moments that wreck you in the best way, we dive into it all with honesty, vulnerability, and a sense of humor. Cause at the end of the day... us dads have no idea what we're doing. Alongside Will is his producer Sherman Young. Together, they’ll break down everything that can go right and wrong (...usually wrong) when you bring tiny humans into this world. Expect funny parenting stories, laughs, call-ins, advice, weekly themes, and the kind of conversations you’d have over a cold beer in the garage. Whether you’re raising teens or still Googling “how to install a car seat”, For the Dads is the ultimate podcast for dads who are in it, about to be in it, or just trying to do their best while screwing it up along the way. ----- FOLLOW THE BOYS Instagram: / Forthedadspod Twitter: / Forthedadspod Facebook: / Forthedadspod LISTEN iTunes: http://bit.ly/BWTB_Apple Spotify: http://bit.ly/BWTB_Spotify -----See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Is the clutter in your home actually messing with your health—or are you just “too sensitive”? In this episode of Misperceived, Professor Leah Ruppaner breaks down the science on clutter, stress, and the mental load, including a landmark UCLA study showing that women who describe their homes as cluttered and unfinished have elevated cortisol patterns across the day, while men in the same homes don't show the same spike. Leah unpacks why a messy house hits women harder, how invisible labor and constant “noticing” turn piles of stuff into a 24/7 to‑do list, and why you are not the problem for feeling overwhelmed by dishes, laundry, and half‑done projects. You'll learn:How clutter, disorganization, and “unfinished” spaces are linked to women's cortisol, mood, and long‑term health. Why gendered expectations around housework and presentation of the home make women feel personally judged by the mess, even when everyone lives in it.Practical ways to lower your mental load without turning yourself into the unpaid project manager of everyone else's stuff—plus how to claim one restorative space that's just for you.Follow Leah: @prof.leahruppanner Hosted on Acast. Good morning, afternoon, and good evening, everybody! Scott Carson here, and boy, are you in for a treat! As we roll into the New Year, many of you are resolving to dive deeper into real estate investing, but that old excuse "I don't have any money" always seems to pop up. Well, prepare to have your mind blown (and your excuses obliterated!) by today's special guest! We've got Lisa Ferris from Georgetown, Texas – a real estate investment legend who's been crushing it for years. She's a master of creative financing, fix & flips, short-term rentals, and leveraging private money. And the best part? She's written a book revealing all her secrets: "How to Find and Fund Any Real Estate Deal: How to Buy Real Estate Without Using Your Own Cash or Credit." Forget the banks; Lisa proves you don't need 'em!Here's what you'll learn from Lisa Ferris (and why you need her book!):The "Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired" Origin Story: Lisa, a 20-year realtor, shares how being "broke" and presented with a "POS house" forced her to embrace creative financing. Her first deal? Wholesaling a property in three hours for $17,000 profit – and she's never looked back!Ron LeGrand's Legacy & Realtor Superpowers: Lisa credits a Ron LeGrand course for igniting her creative financing journey. As a seasoned realtor, she leverages deep market knowledge (knowing which two blocks to avoid and where to buy!) to quickly run numbers and make offers, giving her a serious edge in Central Texas (Belton, Temple, Taylor, Fort Hood) – everywhere but Austin!Win-Win Negotiations for Distressed Sellers: Learn Lisa's approach to seller financing: always offer a higher purchase price and sell the payment amount (never the interest rate!). She focuses on creating win-win scenarios where sellers feel heard and get flexible solutions, even for those with no equity or facing tough situations.Private Money Magic: Just Ask! Lisa's secret to raising capital? Simply ask! Her first private lender was a good friend at McDonald's (true story!). She views it as offering an opportunity for investors to make their money work for them, not begging. Her deals average $200K-$300K and offer 12%+ returns, because as she says, "if you have a good deal, the money is the easiest part."Why Diligence & Community Matter: Lisa uses tools like RehabValuator and creates professional reports (Canva, anyone?) to make her deals attractive. She emphasizes proactive communication with lenders (even using platforms like SiteWire for draws). Plus, she champions local networking with her Centex Dealmakers Group, bringing integrity, training, and real-world deals to Austin's real estate community.Lisa Ferris is living proof that you don't need deep pockets to build a thriving real estate business. Her humor, humility, and rock-solid strategies make her an inspiration. Stop making excuses and start making deals happen!Grab a copy of her game-changing book, "How to Find and Fund Any Real Estate Deal: How to Buy Real Estate Without Using Your Own Cash or Credit," available soon on Amazon. Everyone knows someone with diabetes or heart disease or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. It's impossible to find somebody who doesn't have at least one victim of these diseases in their family or friends circle. That's how widespread they've become. All these disorders share one thing in common – all are ‘lifestyle diseases' linked to insulin resistance and metabolic dysfunction. For the longest time, India's biggest public health challenge was controlling infectious diseases. But now we have an epidemic of lifestyle diseases, causing millions of premature deaths. A new book ‘Sick Nation', drills down to the root causes of this epidemic. What are the factors driving it? Why do people ignore the signs until it is too late? And what can you, as an individual, do to protect yourself from this growing epidemic of metabolic dysfunction? Guest: Karan Sarin, metabolic health coach, and author of ‘Sick Nation: Inside India's Lifestyle Disease Epidemic and How to Fix it'. Stacey Williams joins Joanna Coles as the anticipated release of the Epstein files throws fresh scrutiny on Donald Trump's long-denied proximity to Jeffrey Epstein. Williams recounts how a dinner invitation led to a relationship with Epstein—and, she says, to being deliberately walked into Trump Tower where Trump groped her while Epstein stood by, a moment she now believes was staged. Does her account expose how power, silence, and sexual coercion were normalized at the highest levels—and why Trump remains untouched as others in Epstein's orbit fall? Hosted on Acast. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible! In today's episode, Hunter invites you to join him on this December 18th journey through the Scriptures as we approach the end of the year. Together, you'll dive into John chapters 2 through 4, witnessing Jesus' miraculous signs—from turning water into wine at the wedding feast in Cana, to healing the official's son with just a word, and his transformative conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well. More than just recounting stories, Hunter encourages us to look for the deeper signs that all point to Christ as the source of hope, joy, and transformation in our lives. As we move through this Advent season, Hunter reminds us that the incarnation of Jesus is both a sign of God's immeasurable love and a statement of our value in His eyes. The episode wraps up with a time of prayer, reflection, and gratitude for the Daily Radio Bible community. Whether you're new to the podcast or a longtime listener, today's reading and reflections are sure to encourage your heart and help you see Jesus afresh in this season. So grab your Bible, settle in, and experience a transformative encounter with the God who is always with you. TODAY'S DEVOTION: All the signs are pointing to Him. We see it at the wedding feast, where Jesus turns water into wine. And we see it again in the healing of the government official's son—where, simply by Jesus' word, a boy is healed, a fever is gone, and a prayer is answered. Every sign in these stories draws our attention to Christ Himself. All the signs, not just in these chapters but throughout the gospel, are pointing to Him as the source and fulfillment of our hope. As we move through this Advent season, the days leading up to Christmas, may we remember that every sign, every symbol, every hope is pointing to Jesus. He is our wedding feast. He is the One who turns our ordinary water into extraordinary wine. He is the One who responds to the deep cries of our hearts. In Him, our longings meet their answer. The Gospel of John reveals Him, over and over again, in powerful signs and wonders—but those signs are not the point. They are arrows directing us to the One who gives life. During Advent, may our eyes and hearts be open to recognize Him afresh. Emmanuel—God with us—has come. He has not only identified with us by taking on our humanity but has also embraced us so that we might share in the very life and joy He has with the Father, through the Spirit. This is the depth of His love, and in that love, we find our true value—how deeply we are loved and cherished by God. Let us pray for eyes to see the signs and hearts to believe what they show us: that all is pointing to Jesus, to His love, His sacrifice, His inclusion of us into God's very life. That is my prayer for my own soul, for my family, and for you. May we see all the signs, and may they always lead us to Him. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. Send us a text if you want to be on the Podcast & explain why!Checkout Cody on IG: CodyMayFitWant to see how one trainer turned a free session into a $200K plan and a corporate wellness blueprint that wins boardrooms? We walk through the exact steps: earn trust with results, capture the data that matters, and translate those outcomes into clear ROI that executives can't ignore. Sick days down, blood pressure down, low back injuries down—when the metrics move, pricing power follows.Cody breaks down the shift from coach to operator: how referrals compounded into a book of business, why he attends seminars to sharpen skills, and what changed when he started hiring in his own name. We get specific about standards. Resumes stacked with acronyms are easy; applying anatomy, progressing programs, and defending your choices under pressure is what counts. You'll hear how a practical interview works with a real client, what professionalism looks like on the phone and on the floor, and why protecting the brand requires a high bar for every coach who touches a client. We also map the scalable play: launch a corporate wellness pilot with a tight intake—vitals, grip strength, movement, injury history, and strength benchmarks—then deliver a year of consistent coaching and report the outcomes in dollars saved. That proof of concept unlocks enterprise contracts and fuels a one-stop model that brings trainers, physical therapists, registered dietitians, and concierge MDs under one roof. Community grows, care improves, and the business becomes repeatable across locations. If you're serious about leveling up, this conversation is your checklist: set standards, document outcomes, build a team, and package your wins so decision makers can say yes. Enjoy the episode, share it with someone who needs a push, and if it helped you, subscribe and leave a quick review—it makes a real difference.Want to become a SUCCESSFUL personal trainer? A lot of the women I work with are carrying the same fear: the fear of disappointing other people. We were taught that being good means being nice, low-maintenance, and emotionally contained–even when it costs us. But staying silent doesn't just strain our relationships; it takes a real toll on our bodies and our health. In this episode, I explore how self-silencing is making women sick, why it quietly creates resentment and loneliness, and simple ways to start speaking up and building more health, honesty, and real connection in your life. Here's what I cover:A Time article that dives into the statistics and psychology behind women and self-silencingHow staying quiet to keep the peace actually prevents real closenessThe cultural conditioning that causes self-silencing and why it's not your fault Why your emotions are a rich source of information about your needs and well-beingThree core skills that will help you be more honest without abandoning yourselfFind Sara here:https://sarafisk.coachhttps://pages.sarafisk.coach/difficultconversationshttps://www.instagram.com/sarafiskcoach/https://www.facebook.com/SaraFiskCoaching/https://www.tiktok.com/@sarafiskcoachhttps://www.youtube.com/@sarafiskcoaching1333What happens inside the free Stop People Pleasing Facebook Community? Book a FREE functional health discovery call HERE. If you've ever struggled with worry — especially the 3 a.m., heart-racing, mind-spinning kind — this episode is going to speak right to your soul. I'm opening up about my own recent battle with worry, particularly around my adult son and the challenges he's been facing. Even as a woman who loves the Lord and trusts Him deeply, I've found myself waking up anxious and carrying emotional weight that was never mine to hold alone. In this episode, I walk through: ✨ What Scripture actually says about worry — with grace, not shame ✨ The tension between faith and fear, and why both show up in the lives of believers ✨ The functional health side of worry: cortisol, hormones, digestion, sleep, the nervous system, and why worry affects your whole body ✨ Why midlife women feel worry more intensely (hello hormones + responsibility + emotional labor) ✨ The surprising ways God designed spiritual practices to regulate our physiology ✨ Practical tools to interrupt worry using both faith and functional wellness ✨ A heartfelt encouragement to anyone who loves deeply and is tired of trying to carry the weight of it all This episode blends Scripture, neuroscience, physiology, emotional health, and the tender compassion of God toward women who are doing the best they can while holding a lot of responsibility. If you're a midlife woman navigating leadership, motherhood, faith, and your own wellbeing — you will feel so seen in this conversation. Listen in and let your nervous system take a breath… not because everything in life is certain, but because God is already in every moment we're so afraid of. I hope this episode blesses you! Engineered stone, or quartz, is a man-made material made with high concentrations of silica that is commonly used to make kitchen countertops in the U.S. But doctors are seeing more and more workers in the countertop industry developing silicosis, an often deadly lung disease linked to inhaling toxic dust the material releases when powercut. Even though California has safety rules in place to reduce the risk to workers, some say it's time to ban the use of engineered stone altogether.
