What happens when a lifelong friendship meets a shared frustration with broken systems? Mike Ranfone and Dr. Marko Lujic did something most people only talk about — they actually built the gym-medical hybrid model that the health and fitness industry has been circling around for years. In this episode, Dr. Lujic opens up about the moment he realized he wasn't practicing healthcare — he was practicing sick care — and how that wake-up call led him and Mike to launch RTS Health in Hampton, Connecticut. Together, they walk us through their full client experience: from DEXA scans and comprehensive biomarker labs to concierge medicine, personalized training, and registered dietitian support — all under one roof for around $1,000/month. They also get real about why collaboration beats territorialism, why most people are "majoring in the minors" when it comes to longevity, and what it actually takes to build a business model at the intersection of fitness and functional medicine. If you've ever felt like the fitness and medical worlds should be talking to each other but aren't — this episode is for you. Episode Takeaways:

Published 9 March 2026 e543 with Andy, Michael and Michael – Stories and discussion on LEGO's new Smart Play brick, this is a human brain (cells) on Doom, orc audio for vibe coding, Liquid Death's Spotify urn for playlist immortality and a whole lot more. Michael, Michael and Andy get things rolling with Michael M's delivery of the newest innovation from LEGO, the Smart Play brick! While Michael's only had a little bit of time to play with the new brick, it is already sparking some interesting ideas. Check out the show notes below for what others are doing with it, now that the Smart Play brick is out and in the wild! And of course the audio of the podcast for some of the sounds from the brick! An article about a biocomputing success to play Doom with human brain cells, reminds the cohosts of other biocomputing examples from e504. The Ars Technica article about identifying anonymous users through LLMs likewise reminds the team of other examples for triangulating identity. After a story about using the audio from Warcraft III in vibe coding experiences “work, work”, the team takes a look at “Humanity's Last Exam”, which likely has already been handled by an enterprising AI research team. Turning next to a Norwegian PSA (that is NSFW and funny) on the slippery slope of digital products and services getting worse and worse, the team then considers a story about a partnership between Epic and Google for a new set of metaverse applications. In yet another back to the future experience, the Niantic gaming functionality may provide a roadmap to how this partnership may grow. The team wraps up with a Liquid Death promo for how you may achieve musical immortality with a custom Spotify playlist played via a bluetooth urn. What songs would be on your postmortem playlist? Purpose doesn't ring the doorbell. And waiting for the perfect moment to finally "figure it out" is the fastest way to miss the whole thing. If you're one of those people sitting around waiting for the lightning bolt, I've got news for you — the search is the purpose. In this episode, I'm breaking down the simple mindset shift that takes all the pressure off, gets you moving, and actually helps you discover what you're meant to do. Spoiler: it's not a five-year strategic plan. It's simpler than that — and it works. Featured Story A few years back, I started noticing a pattern. The people struggling most with purpose weren't the ones doing nothing — they were the ones trying hardest to think their way into it. Sitting still. Waiting for the big revelation. Like purpose was going to DoorDash itself to their front door. I get it. I've had people ask me, "Scott, just tell me my purpose." And honestly? That's way beyond my pay grade. What I could tell them was simple: if you don't know your purpose, your purpose is to find your purpose. The moment they heard it that way, something shifted. The pressure dropped. And that's when things started moving. Important Points If you're waiting for purpose to ring the doorbell, you're going to be waiting a long time — it shows up when you move. Pay attention to what lights you up, not what looks good on Instagram. That energy is a compass pointing you forward. Build a peaceful base — solid habits and stable relationships. That foundation gives you room to explore without panic. Memorable Quotes If you don't know your purpose, your purpose is to find your purpose. Get moving. That's the whole assignment. Life begins when you move. Evidently, purpose does too. It doesn't show up while you're sitting around waiting for it. Purpose isn't a destination; it's a direction. Stay curious, stay moving, and let the breadcrumbs lead you there. Scott's Three-Step Approach Give yourself permission to explore — start projects, learn skills, and follow every little spark of interest you feel. Notice what actually makes you feel alive, not what impresses others. That energy is pointing you toward your purpose. Build a peaceful base of habits and stability. A strong foundation lets you explore without desperation or panic. Daily Word Because we live in a world where people often get sick and sometimes die from those sicknesses, we are conditioned to accept being sick. However, sickness is not something we have to accept; we can choose not to be sick. This is important because sickness not only weakens your body, but your mind as well, which stops the faith you need to succeed in your calling. From supporting your mitochondrial function to healing your liver to dialing in your ideal gut balancing protocol, the digital age has sold us hard on there being a “right way” to feel, look, have sex, do romance, eat, work, and be. Oh, and you're doing it wrong. The truth is, following the white rabbit of optimal wellness is making people sick. Really sick. Chronically ill with multiple tiers of mystery symptoms with seemingly no end and no discernible root cause. Only an endless downward spiral that steals your time, energy, money, and health. Day by pain filled day. This is especially prevalent in healing professions. Guides, coaches, wellness practitioners, facilitators, doctors, nurses, and therapists all holding space for the collective while drowning in their own crusade to cope with the myriad of issues happening inside their own bodies and hearts and minds. This week on the show, we're getting into why trying harder is making your symptoms stronger. And uncovering the limiting belief lying at the core of it all. Politically "independent" used to mean you were moderate. Not anymore. It's no secret that Americans are politically divided, as faith in political parties erodes. In the past, so-called "independent" voters were likely shifting between Democrats and Republicans. But now, especially Gen-Z, are pushing in new directions, far from the center. In this episode, we explore how "independent" became a rallying cry for change on the left and the right. Danielle Kurtzleben guest hosts with Elena Moore, a political reporter for NPR, and Dr. Omar Ali, a professor of African American political history at UNC & author of In the Balance of Power: Independent Black Politics and Third Party Movements in the United States.Want more episodes on political culture? SHOW NOTES: Notes, reference, freebies, and recommendations from this episode can be found at - https://www.morriswellnessservices.com/blog/185 Many common household cleaning products contain more than just soap. They often include quaternary ammonium compounds (quats), synthetic fragrance, chlorine compounds, and volatile organic compounds that can interfere with hormone balance over time. In this episode, we break down how cleaning chemicals enter the body through inhalation and skin contact, why “disinfect everything” culture may be doing more harm than good, and how these exposures can affect thyroid signaling, reproductive hormones, insulin regulation, lung health, and the nervous system. You'll learn: What quats are and where they hide How chlorine and bleach impact indoor air Why strong scent does not equal clean How repeated low-level exposure adds to endocrine load Practical, non-extreme swaps that reduce chemical stress This conversation focuses on discernment, not fear. Most surfaces do not require constant disinfecting. Mechanical cleaning with soap and water is often enough. Reducing chemical exposure lowers hormonal interference — but removing disruption is only step one. Restoring metabolic and endocrine function requires rebuilding intentionally. This episode is part of the Endocrine Disruptor Series exploring everyday exposures quietly impacting women's health. This is the newly rebranded podcast, formerly known as "Your Birth, God's Way". Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Ryan: First off, I would like to say thanks for all that you do in supporting a healthy community, it's greatly appreciated. My question has to do with what and how much physical activity should you do while you are sick, along with what additional health modalities would you suggest. When you are sick or feeling like you're getting sick, do you continue hitting your 10,000 steps per day? Weight lift? Cardio? HIIT? Continue working out but at a reduced intensity? Should you substitute some activity for red light? Sauna? Yoga? And how would this differ from a cold to a fever? Thanks again! Ann: Hi Dr. Cabral and as always thank you for being such a champion for us out here :) A friend swears that Milk Thistle helped her when she was battling liver cancer. I have NAFLD and am working to reduce it, and besides the ways you have outlined to help (episode 3017), I'm wondering if milk thistle could be a good addition? Thank you so much - have a blessed day:) Dawn Marie: Hi, Dr. Cabral. I had mono as a child, and again in 2023 when I was 48 years of age. In 2023, I was on day 17 of the detox when the mono re-emerged and I was quite sick, almost requiring hospitalization--liver enzymes quite high, thickening of gallbladder walls, and enlarged spleen. My doctor actually wrote me a referral to a surgeon to likely have my gall bladder removed! Thank goodness, after years of listening to your podcasts, I knew to do some research and discovered that after I recovered from the mono, all would return to normal and they did. My understanding is that Epstein-Barr "lives" in the liver and is difficult to fully heal from. I'd like to "kick it out" for good. Is there a way to fully heal from EBV? Is there any risk of it re-emerging if I try to do another 21-day detox? Dylaini: Hi Dr Cabral! Thanks for all you do, you're a wealth of knowledge! I am working with a lot of tinnitus clients and some claim it's from being in the military and being exposed to loud noises, do you think this is simply a "stress" on the body and isn't necessarily a permeant issue from being exposed to loud noises? Thanks again! Josephine: Hi Dr Cabral, you've been an amazing ing help to me over the years, thank you. I'm a 44year old woman living in Australia. I have idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis (IGH) on my legs and arms. I get this much more so than brown pigment spots. I understand sun protection is the best way to prevent this, however I'm wondering if you have any tips for how to treat it (most sources say pigment won't come back) and also what supplements or topical treatments (excluding sunscreen) might make the skin less susceptible.
