Jurandir Filho, Felipe Mesquita, Coelho no Japão e Bruno Carvalho conversam sobre Super Mario World.
Germain Lussier from Gizmodo joins Dave Weekley on Hotline to discuss Christopher Nolan's upcoming Odyssey — a massive mythological epic shot on 2 million feet of IMAX film and featuring a powerhouse cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, and Anne Hathaway. Germain explains why Nolan wanted to make “the biggest myth movie ever made” and how it could redefine the genre. The two also talk Stephen King adaptations that deserve a reboot — from Maximum Overdrive to The Dark Tower — and react to Peacock canceling Rian Johnson's hit series Poker Face after two seasons
There's a whole graveyard of badly handled remakes and “reimagining's” of beloved classics that just didn't live up to their legacy. Some weren't disasters exactly, but they lost the sparkle, magic, or wit that made the originals timeless. All to chat about with Lisa Cannon, Head of Studio at DMG Media.
Win-win. Continuing Issue 66 of the monthly magazine podcast of the discerning film nerd. Our theme is still Stephen King so we're putting two more adaptations of his stories up for scrutiny in the Remakes Tribunal. Our Remake on Trial is 2022's Firestarter - is there any justification for this new version? Then we have a Parole hearing for a film that didn't work the first time to see if a remake would fix its problems - 2017's disastrous the Dark Tower. Tonight on On Trial, we are comparing and contrasting the 1992 The Hand That Rocks the Cradle with the 2025 Hulu remake. The original, directed by Curtis Hanson, starred Annabella Sciorra as Claire Bartel, a new mother targeted by Rebecca De Mornay's chillingly composed nanny, Peyton Flanders, alongside Matt McCoy, Julianne Moore, and Ernie Hudson. It defined the early '90s domestic thriller — glossy, paranoid, and simmering with class and gender tension. The new version, directed by Michelle Garza Cervera, stars Maika Monroe as Polly Murphy, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Caitlin Morales, and Raúl Castillo as her husband Miguel, with a supporting cast that reframes the story through a modern lens of influencer parenting, fertility tech, and curated perfection. Tonight, we put both films on the stand: Has the remake deepened the original's themes of trust, vengeance, and control — or traded its bite for sleek, algorithmic polish? We're finding out which one truly rocks the cradle.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

Turn on the shower. Disrobe. Cue the music! Tonight, Ben Lewandowski and I consider the merits of the classic 1960 thriller PSYCHO, directed by the master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock. As well as the very curious remake in 1998 directed by Gus Van Zant. This is an interesting one folks, since no other filmmaker has ever intentionally set out to copy a film to this degree. Ben and I had a great time discussing these films and we hope you will have just as good a time listening to our ramblings. Let's go!

When we discovered that Zack Snyder and James Gunn, the two titans of DC, were both credited on the 2004 remake of George Romero's Dawn of the Dead, we just had to investigate. And then when we noticed that the creator of the Final Destination franchise had also been partly responsible for the remake of follow-up Day of the Dead four years later, we decided to watch that one too. Presented by J.R. Southall, with Richie Morgan and Dylan Rees

Concluding Issue 65 of the monthly magazine podcast for the discerning film nerd. It's still comedy month and now it's the Remakes Tribunal, putting bad filmmaking on trial. First up we put a remake in the dock and ask if it deserves to exist: this month it's Rat Race, an unofficial remake of 1963's It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. Then we have a parole hearing for a film which didn't work the first time and ask if a remake would fix its problems. This month we look at the disastrous Bruce Willis vehicle Hudson Hawk. Has there ever been a good remake? Why remake something that's already good? Obviou$ly there i$ a huge in¢entive to re-relea$e good $elling product$ again and again, but we're here to debate the artistic use or other incentives than purely the money aspect. Degens Andy S and Brandon Bombay pick up some cans of silly string and pizzas to enjoy a wild night talking about 'Big.' Andy kicks things off by telling a story about a one night stand that ended abruptly after the girl walked into his man-child cave room adorned that showcased his affinity for comics. Then the fellas decide to give another beloved child's movie the Degen treatment, and discuss Penny Marshall's 1988 film. This starts with the guys pitching gritty remakes, and imagining how the story of a child turning into a man overnight, and heading to downtown New York in the '80s would work out for him in the real world. Afterwards, they get to the cherished coming-of-age romp which was really just a nearly two-hour showcase for Tom Hanks' star potential, as he hams it up. Sure, his depiction of an 11-year-old interacting with adults is more reminiscent of a toddler, but the film does nail the fact of young guys throwing their friends under the bus to get their hands on some boobies.

What do wax museums, Twin Peaks, wolf-men, MTV, S&M sex, the Amiga 1000, and the the invisible man have in common, outside of captivating America? Anthony Hickox's 1988 debut feature, Waxwork! In the newest edition of BOP n' A Movie's commentary series on the history of cinematic wax, the crew looks at an entry that may not be the brightest stick on the candelabra, but maybe the most fun. Starring Zach “from Gremlins” Galligan, David “that TGRI Guy” Warner, and Dana “I didn't kill my girlfriend, Laura Palmer” Ashbrook, this gloriously cheesy Sci-Fi Network favorite uses the museum format to take its cast on a journey through time and space to rival Doctor Who… which is appropriate considering how Warner is dressed. But will Cody survive his latest wax drink? And will they just keep the recorder on while they watch Waxwork II: It's About Time?
