A wellness podcast by Holistic Health & Life Coach, Tori Boughey
This week I’m joined by my great friend and fellow coach, Alice Law from LAWALI. Alice is a coach who specialises in stress management and energy. And while she has reiki and coaching qualifications, she maintains it has been her most prominent life experiences of the past ten years that have allowed her to have her own unique insights into coaching & stress management and her own way of thinking to help others. Her losses proceeded to come directly after one another, there were times when she felt like no stone was being left unturned. Alice found her happiness was quickly disappearing, while being faced with various emotional and material difficulties at the same time. It was during this time that she realised something had to change, and with the realisation that everything else was out of her control, that something had to be HER. I admire Alice hugely, aside from the fact that she’s a wonderful human, she is an incredible example to us all of just how we can use what we overcome during the darkest days and most heart wrenching months to change the lives of others. In this episode we discuss just how Alice learnt to turn her loss into power and how to question & shake yourself out of stress. I’m especially excited about today’s podcast because we’re talking about sex… which is something I haven’t yet spoken about on any of my TBalance channels! The wonderful Kate Moyle is here with me. Kate is a C-O-R-S-T accredited Psychosexual and relationship therapist. She works empathetically with people to recognise their personal understanding of their sexuality and sexual health; with the view that issues have roots in psychology, emotion, the physical body and a person’s history and culture. Ultimately her aim is to help people get to a place of sexual health, happiness and wellbeing. Today we are talking about sex in this modern day, how to break down sexual fears and the importance of communication.www.katemoyle.co.ukInstagram @KateMoyleTherapy
William Pullen is a qualified psychotherapist, and today he’s here to tell us all about his theory: DRT (Dynamic Running Therapy). By combining movement with talking therapy, DRT addresses the different elements of the human “operating system”, capitalising on the synergy found in the mind, body and spirit. We have found that when people make progress in one of these areas it is often also experienced in another. DRT capitalises on this complimentary system to facilitate a sense of momentum and growth.William believes that change comes about by clearing a path to where we want to be, not forcing our way through to it.In this episode prepare to learn how to walking or running with a thought helps to drastically break down ones blockages. We discuss what an empathy walk is and how this can immensely create intimacy in your relationships.Download the DRT app here Check out William’s website here Find William on instagram here
I’m welcoming the wonderful Nicola Vivian to the podcast. Nicola is a self proclaimed addict. Following the fatal heroin overdose of her boyfriend when she was just 24, Nicola spiralled into the depths of grief. Her way out from it was to examine, profoundly and meticulously, the mysterious forces of addiction and the emotional vulnerability from which they grow. She has recently published her book, My Will, which is both a brutally uncompromising tale of addiction and an exquisite love story. In this episode we chat about all things addiction, how patterns formed in early life translate into patterns within relationships, the ins and outs of codependency and much more. In this week’s episode I’m joined by Tori Purr, the co-founder of Hurr Collective. I was blown away by Tori’s drive and enthusiasm for tech and business when I first met her I was desperate to know more about Hurr, which, in honour of her South African cofounder, means ‘RENT’ in Afrikaans.Hurr is 2019’s answer to sustainability - it’s a platform that allows women to rent and lend their wardrobes securely in seconds. In this episode prepare to learn just how chronic the fashion industry really is on our precious world and what small changes you can be making to support it. And, of course, how Tori stays balanced in the midst of a startup!www.hurrcollective.com You can check out Hurr on Instagram here: @hurr
In this week’s episode I’m joined by the gorgeous and highly knowledgeable Yalda Alaoui from Eat Burn Sleep. Eat Burn Sleep has been formed over the past 12 years, it’s a gut health, inflammation and sustained weight loss platform that Yalda founded last year after her battle with two autoimmune conditions led her to educate herself, change her diet and lifestyle and subsequently put her conditions into remission. The few times I’ve spent with Yalda we’ve chatted and chatted and chatted and I can’t express how much respect I have for how she lives her life and the extensive wisdom that she embodies. In this episode we discuss how to instantly lower your inflammation, how to prevent a hangover (!) and what it is that you can take to really help the health of your gut. Welcome back to my podcast! I have been busy recording with some incredibly knowledgable and inspiring guests for this season and I can’t wait to share with you! For those of you who are new to the podcast, I’m Tori Boughey a Holistic Health & Life Coach and founder of TBalance. I strive to help people connect with, value and look after themselves and my mission is to help individuals become the best version of themselves by looking at all aspects of life (relationships, career/purpose, food, spirituality & movement). One of the greatest places to start is by tuning into who you are and how comfortable you feel in your skin. Which allows me perfectly to introduce my first guest in this series; Marie Hansen. Marie is one of the most beautifully radiant and glowing people I know - yet she has struggled massively over the years with skin conditions ranging from rosacea to eczema. In this episode she talks about how the environment she lives in, the way she fuels herself, her state of mind and most importantly what she puts on her skin is imperative to how it looks and feels. Since recording this episode I have gone au-naturel with my skincare products & supplements. Here’s a list of what I’ve been using: Votary skincare (I’ve actually used this for a while, it’s incredible):CleanserDay oil Night oil Better You Vitamin D sprayDoTerra Essential oilsJojoba Carrier oil Kingfisher Toothpaste You can find Marie on Instagram @marietheresehansen or @aeviwellness

Jaime Hepburn’s story is one of huge admiration. She found yoga through a lengthy journey of not feeling as though she had the right to belong, and from this has paved her way in the yoga-sphere. In this episode we discuss how as a teenager she was kicked out of home, which led to unhealthy romantic relationships and how she found her way when she freed herself. Find Jaime at Core Collective (45 Phillimore Walk, W8 7RZ); in her classes you won’t hear her recite passages in Sanskrit, and she won’t ask you to push your body into places it doesn’t want to go. She do not believe one way is the right way and she emphasises that we are all very different bodies on very different journeys.
