An A&R (artists and repertoire) representative is responsible for finding promising new artists for a record label or music publisher to sign. Mali grew up with the dream of becoming a professional footballer from a very young age and tried everything in his power to make it into a reality, however, it did not work out for him. Notwithstanding, Mali didn't let this situation define him and was able to pick himself up and pave a pathway for himself into the music industry by attending music events, starting his own podcast speaking to up and coming artists and networking with people in the music industry. He is the perfect example of making something out of yourself if football doesn't work out and the fact that there's industries other than football that you can thrive in! In this episode Daniel and Watford U23 goalkeeper Myles Roberts discuss his journey so far. How he ended up being a goalkeeper and the struggles that he's had. We also discuss the difficulties in the journey of a young goalkeeper including the mental side of it; dealing with mistakes and strategies to deal with them. Also, we try to understand the reason why there are barely any black goalkeepers playing in the top leagues in Europe. Myles also breaks down an incident where he was racially abused whilst out on loan and how he didn't say anything because he diodnt want to cause 'drama'.

Welcome to the Beyond Football Podcast! On this first episode Daniel Jinadu discusses the experience of getting scouted by West Ham at the age of 6 and being at the club for 15 years with Aji Alese. Aji talks about his various different setbacks in his journey as well as some of the highlights so far such as representing England in the Euro's in 2018. We also get into depth about who Aji is Beyond Football as he explains how he's currently undertaking a degree in Sports Science alongside his football.
