“LLMs give us the opportunity to kind of rethink how much expected skill we can get out of our tools and techniques,” says Jeffrey Rosenberg, managing director and senior fixed income portfolio manager for BlackRock Systematic. “If deep fundamental value investing is dedicating 10,000 hours to create ... concentrated portfolios based on an expectation of high degrees of skill, maybe we can do something similar because the technology allows us to.” This is an evolution from a model focused on maximizing small advantages, according to Rosenberg, who joins Bloomberg Intelligence's Noel Hebert on this episode of the Credit Crunch podcast. The two discuss rates decorrelation, systematic's peanut-butter-cup moment and iShares Systematic Alternatives Active ETF (IALT), the company's latest liquid systematic-strategy offering. The Credit Crunch podcast is part of BI's FICC Focus series.

How can we simultaneously have "record investment in health", while feeling like we're falling behind? Why will anything less than an additional $1.4B in the Health NZ budget move health backward? How can it be that unmet need, population growth, and inflation are not properly accounted for in our official budget numbers?Kaitiaki Hauora is a new organisation made up of many groups with an interest in public health, rallying around the well-proven but oft-ignored idea that healthcare privatisation is an expensive, inefficient, and inequitable alternative to universal public healthcare. The Frontline speaks with former intensive care doctor, Dr David Galler, and economist Dr Bill Rosenberg of Kaitiaki Hauora about the tricky world of healthcare spending and the NZ economy.

In this episode of Nonviolence Radio, we speak with animal rights activist Zoe Rosenberg about nonviolent direct action, open rescue, and the personal costs of standing up for animals. A recent graduate of UC Berkeley, where she designed her own major in social movement strategy, Zoe brings both practical experience and thoughtful analysis to the challenges facing today's animal rights movement. She shares her experience rescuing chickens from Perdue's Petaluma Poultry facilities, the legal consequences that followed—including a felony conviction, house arrest, and time in solitary confinement—and why those experiences only deepened her commitment to nonviolence. The conversation explores the history of repression in the animal rights movement, the ongoing campaign to rescue beagles from Ridglan Farms, and the power of principled action to expose hidden suffering and inspire change. Zoe offers a compelling vision of what it means to extend our circle of care to all living beings and to build movements capable of transforming both hearts and institutions.
The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 208 In 1930, Adolf Hitler's chief ideologist for the Third Reich, Alfred Rosenberg, sought to write a new mythology for the twentieth century that was meant to be the foundational belief system for Nazis. The book he published was the second most important and popular book in the Third Reich, and it's called The Myth of the Twentieth Century (https://ia800405.us.archive.org/31/items/alfred-rosenberg-and-the-track-of-the-jew-through-the-ages/The%20Myth%20of%20the%2020th%20Century.pdf ). In this episode of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay continues his "Myth of the Blood" series exploring this book, now turning to Rosenberg's second chapter: "Love and Honor." Here, Rosenberg outlines why the Nordic Aryan (German) mentality is based on racial values of honor and duty as compared to Christian, Jewish, Russian, and Freemasonic values all rooted in love in one form of another, which makes them the ruin of civilizations. Join him for an interesting discussion into the pseudoscientific mythology of the Nazi movement and its strange attempt to ground a positive German identity on bizarre, grandiose lies. Send us Fan MailFor years, I've loved Michael Pollan's famous advice: Eat real food, not too much, mostly plants. It felt grounded. Sensible. Refreshingly free from diet culture nonsense. But what if one of the most trusted pieces of nutrition advice of the last two decades isn't quite as simple as it sounds? In this episode, I sit down with food systems researchers Jan Dutkiewicz and Gabriel N. Rosenberg, co-authors of Feed the People. Their book challenges a lot of the assumptions many of us have about food, health, and what it means to be a "good eater."We dig into the controversy around ultra-processed foods and why that label may not tell us nearly as much as we've been led to believe. We talk about protein powders, plant-based meats, frozen vegetables, sliced bread, and why some foods that get demonized online might actually be perfectly healthy additions to a balanced diet.We also explore a much bigger question: what happens when we put all the responsibility for fixing our food system on individual consumers?Jan and Gabriel make a compelling case that nutrition isn't just about personal choices. It's also about policy, affordability, accessibility, labor, agriculture, and the systems that determine what ends up on our plates in the first place. Some of their arguments challenged my own beliefs. A few made my jaw hit the floor. Like the idea that a Walmart can improve community nutrition more effectively than a farmers' market. Or that obsessing over every ingredient label may be doing more harm than good.Whether you agree with everything in this conversation or not, I think you'll walk away questioning some of the nutrition "truths" we've all absorbed over the years. And honestly, that's what makes this episode so interesting. What's Inside:Why "ultra-processed food" may be far too broad a category to be usefulThe difference between food processing and actual nutritional qualityWhy affordability and access matter more than food purity narrativesHow policy, not individual perfection, shapes healthier communitiesThis conversation reminded me that nutrition is rarely as black and white as social media makes it seem. Sometimes the most useful thing we can do is trade certainty for curiosity. Tell me: what's one food belief you've changed your mind about recently? Dr. Fred Rosenberg interviews Jay Kreger, chief executive officer of CRH Medical, a GI solutions company that provides anesthesia services to gastroenterology practices at more than 150 ambulatory surgery centers in 18 states, about how independent practices can keep anesthesia care reliable and accessible for patients. Independent GI practices depend on anesthesia services for many of the procedures they perform, but face increasing difficulty maintaining anesthesia coverage, from competition with hospitals and health systems to reimbursement cuts from insurance companies. Partnering with a company that provides anesthesia and other services is one way practices can address these challenges and stay focused on patient care. Join Fred and Jay as they discuss what options exist for practices that want to partner with an anesthesia services company, and the steps independent practices can take to keep dependable anesthesia care in place for their communities. New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 159 Underneath the Nazi program in Germany was a worldview, what Hitler called the "racialist worldview." At the very foundations of that worldview lurks a dark and peculiar pseudoscientific mythology. Hitler's "Chief Ideologist" Alfred Rosenberg called it "the Myth of the Blood" and presented it in a book called The Myth of the Twentieth Century, which he published in 1930. In this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay summarizes both the "Myth of the Blood" and some of Rosenberg's strange book while pointing the listener to a new series on the New Discourses Podcast exploring both in far greater detail: the Myth of the Blood series (https://newdiscourses.com/2026/05/pseudo-traditionalism-and-the-nordic-science/). The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 204 The Nazi mythology, the so-called "Myth of the Blood," refused the idea of a static, "monist" world, one built on a single thesis, one morality, and one unchanging God. Instead, it favored polarization and dynamism as the fundamental Law of Nature. This fact is clearly laid out and explained in Alfred Rosenberg's 1930 word The Myth of the Twentieth Century, which serves as the basis for this series, The Myth of the Blood, on the New Discourses Podcast. In this episode of the podcast, host James Lindsay takes you through the last sections of the first chapter of Rosenberg's Myth (titled "Race and Race-Soul") to illustrate the complete Nazi rejection of monotheism, Catholicism, Christianity, Judaism, and any "static" concept of the world that isn't based in race that honors and worships a living revelation in a dynamic, changing world ruled by a solar deity, which he locates in the Nordic Aryans from Atlantis. The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 202 Underneath the Nazi Experiment lay a mythology. That mythology was called "the Myth of the Blood" by Hitler's chief ideologist Alfred Rosenberg. Rosenberg recorded this mythology in a very peculiar book called The Myth of the Twentieth Century, originally published in 1930. In it, Rosenberg lays out a complete treatise of what Nazis were supposed to believe about the world and their own roles in it, answering fundamental questions like how the world is organized, what is its history, what is the meaning of that history, who are we in the world, and what are we called to do; that is, fundamentally religious questions. In Volume 13 of his Nazi Experiment podcast series on the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay introduced the text of The Myth of the Twentieth Century by reading from the first chapter, "Race and Race-Soul," where he suggested the book deserved greater treatment in its own series. In this episode of the New Discourses Podcast, Lindsay inaugurates that series with a further exploration from the first chapter of Rosenberg's Myth. Here, he explains his view on the role and origin of the myth while reading through Rosenberg's explanation of the role of "German" or "Nordic" science in its opposition to the older, dying world that includes things like Christianity and Catholicism. Join him for a deep insight into the world of Nazi thought. Latest from New Discourses Press! Dan Nathan speaks with David Rosenberg about a market week packed with tech earnings, GDP, PCE, the Fed, oil above $100, and a sharp USD/JPY move. Rosenberg argues the U.S. economy is K-shaped, with Q1 GDP growth heavily driven by AI-related tech capex while non-tech business investment contracts, and consumer spending exceeding flat-to-negative real disposable income mainly due to a falling savings rate, wealth effects at the high end, and credit reliance at the low end amid rising delinquencies. He says most sectors are losing jobs, productivity has driven nearly all recent growth, and an oil price shock is a supply-side tax likely to weaken demand rather than create sustained inflation. They discuss a divided Fed under new chair Kevin Warsh, high market concentration, extreme valuations with a near-zero equity risk premium, and whether yen moves or oil are bigger risks for equities. —FOLLOW USYouTube: @RiskReversalMediaInstagram: @riskreversalmediaTwitter: @RiskReversalLinkedIn: RiskReversal Media
What happens when a patient makes a reasonable, informed decision to skip a non-mandatory test and the system simply stops? Patient advocate Aaron S. Rosenberg shares how a routine dental visit became a case study in conditional care after he declined bite-wing X-rays and was told his cleaning could not proceed. His episode is based on his KevinMD article, "Informed refusal vs. denied care: a dental case study," You will hear how a recommendation quietly became a requirement, how licensure risk was invoked despite no such mandate existing in ADA guidelines, and how the visit ended with no care delivered at all. Rosenberg draws on his career spanning clinical practice, health systems, and insurance to examine how standardization, liability concerns, and billing structures can squeeze out shared decision making. He makes the case that informed refusal is a patient right that only has meaning if care remains available after a reasonable decline. He also explores where to draw the line, distinguishing non-mandatory diagnostics tied to preventive care from urgent clinical scenarios where compliance may be essential. If you have ever wondered whether health care systems are quietly replacing clinical judgment with rigid protocols, this episode will sharpen how you think about patient autonomy. The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 201 As we have been exploring, the Nazis had a worldview, and that worldview formed the core of their European experiment in the 1930s and 1940s. Underneath that worldview was a myth: the Myth of the Blood. This myth was concocted by the Nazi's chief ideologist, Alfred Rosenberg, and formalized the race-based thinking of the Third Reich. And myth it is. Rosenberg records these ideas in his book The Myth of the Twentieth Century, which begins with a chapter titled "Race and Race-Soul," and it opens with a declared intention to rewrite history. In this episode of the Nazi Experiment series on the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay takes you through several sections of Rosenberg's Myth, showing just how deep the racial rabbit hole goes with the Nazis (to the foundations of humanity, to be exact). Join him for yet another harrowing look inside the Nazi ideology. Latest from New Discourses Press! The MAJesty feels that anyone would've made more sense than McAfee in this storyline and how it's now completely reshaped the Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes story. Was CM Punk's promo from last Monday's RAW one of those moments where you don't know if it's off script? It had that Pipebomb 2 energy, but SGG doesn't think it's another pipebomb while Rosenberg disagrees and explains why he might be the best promo of his era, and possibly all time. And we ask the question: how much Jelly Roll is too much Jelly Roll? Could overexposure lead to fan burnout and a potential turn on him?Plus, inaugural Evolve Women's Champion Kali Armstrong joins the show to talk about her final match on Evolve before moving to NXT full-time, who she wants to face next, and what's ahead in this next chapter of her career.Listen to Cheap Heat Live Fridays 12pm- 2pm EST on Pro Wrestling Nation 24/7 on Channel 156.Call in at 844-344-4893Wanna stay MAJ?Join our PateronFollow @cheapheatpod on Instagram and TikTok @cheapheatpod Hosted on Acast. In this episode of The Addicted Mind, host Duane Osterlind sits down with Dr. Judy Rosenberg, founder of the Psychological Healing Center, to dive deep into the psychology of smoking addiction.Dr. Rosenberg shares her journey from the early days of aversion therapy at the Schick Center to developing her transformative "Mind Map" for healing. They move beyond the surface-level habit of nicotine to explore the "hole in the soul"—the childhood wounds and narcissistic injuries that often drive us to "fill" ourselves with substances rather than finding true "fulfillment."Key Highlights & ThemesThe Failure of Aversion Therapy: Why "shocking" people out of a habit often leads to high relapse rates if the underlying psychological cause isn't addressed. The "Hole in the Soul": Identifying the childhood wounds—physical, sexual, verbal abuse, neglect, or narcissistic injury—that create a void we try to fill with cigarettes.Filling vs. Fulfilling: A powerful distinction between using a substance to temporarily plug a hole (the "vampire effect") versus generating internal light and generative health. The Narcissistic Cigarette: How we assign value to an object that drains our health, money, and power, much like a toxic relationship. The Three Smoking Personalities: * The Comfort Smoker: Seeking the attunement and nurturing missed in early childhood. The Control Smoker: Using the cigarette to manage a chaotic or unpredictable environment. The Performance Smoker: Using nicotine to "show up," create, or please others, often rooted in narcissistic wounds.Destination Disgust: How to use the emotion of disgust as a protective mechanism to "unhook" from the addiction and view the substance as the poison it truly is.The Oxygen Trick: Recognizing that the "relief" of a cigarette often comes from the deep breath of the inhale, which the cigarette then "hijacks" and takes credit for.The Mind Map for HealingIdentify childhood wounds and the "cracked lens" of perception.Decode the "poison" of negative core beliefs (e.g., "I don't matter").Recode the psyche into a state of health, power, and self-causality.Guest ResourcesWebsite: Psychological Healing CenterBooks: * Kick It: Stop Smoking and Be the Cause of Better Outcomes for Your LifeBe the Cause: Healing Human DisconnectYouTube: Dr. Judy WTF (What the Freud) – Over 500 episodes on healing from narcissistic abuse and addiction. If you live in California and are looking for counseling or therapy please check out Novus Mindful Life Counseling and Recovery CenterNovusMindfulLife.comWe want to hear from you.
