Hosted by Fredd Cheeto at his shop, 1001 Troubles Tattoo, this show features interviews with a bunch of workaholic tattoo artists from Rhode Island. Peppered with oddball tattoo collectors and clients, the show goes off the rails quickly from tattoo-shop
With Misshell just getting over a small bit of Covid, we're back at it this week with some updates. We talk about porn video close-up techniques, metaverse weirdness, silly nu-metal bands, women in metal, new fashion trends called "norm-core" and the general mood of the country through popular media. We then segue into work chat and what happiness really means when you are successful and the hindsight of achievements and personal fulfilment. A really great episode highlighting our business relationship and what it's like when you are trying to be good at what you do.
Christmas is over and after a crazy quarantine holiday season, Fredd and Michelle meet up to talk about how their plans for holiday domination were thwarted by Covid, the sequel. They chat about how the shop was forced to close for the holidays a week early, their holiday loot, and weird tattoo fads going around right now. Later, they talk about digital tattoo shops in the metaverse. Fredd brings up recent developments in Europe and the issue with the EU banning tattoo ink effectively making tattooing in Europe illegal. Existential crises, nut powder, dad dicks, dog buttholes, and nu metal are also on the menu this week. ____________________ Welcome to The Inkaholics, a tattoo podcast about nothing at all. It's tough starting something new. Fredd and Michelle discuss happenings of the week, including why the podcast was delayed (it involves mice) and the difficulties in just trying to be regular people with aspirations and responsibilities and how even successful people get a little wacky from time-to-time. They also discuss weird fetishes, Thanksgiving with family, and buying Chinese knock-off tattoo equipment on Amazon and what that means for the tattoo industry. ____________________ Welcome to The Inkaholics, a tattoo podcast about nothing at all. COME SMOKE UP WITH US THIS EPISODE! This week was a bit off-the-hip. The mics weren't plugged in properly and Fredd and Misshell lost about 30 minutes of footage. After the producer narrowly escaped with his job intact, the gang lit up a joint and re-filmed. They go over some fresh news involving Black Alien Project and his elective surgery to remove some *ahem* body parts that were hindering his transformation. They talk about cellphones and the future of the metaverse and what it means for the future of tattooing and other things. They then go over tattoo fads like the dreaded clocks-and-roses fad that just won't die. A really funny and fun episode. ____________________ Welcome to The Inkaholics, a tattoo podcast about nothing at all. In this weeks episode, Fredd and Michelle talk about tattooed celebrities, and Fredd talks about why his new role model is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Later the two touch on what it's like when you have to tattoo over another respected artist's work. They also give their reaction to some news about the rock band "Brass Against" and their lead singer's recent on-stage antics. It's been a long hiatus. But we're officially back with a slick new studio, producer, and we're finally doing things right! I took a long break after I decided I couldn't do the podcast in the capacity that I wanted to at the time when we ended back in March. SO I wanted to make a comeback with a dedicated podcast schedule and I'm wicked excited to share with you our afterhours shop shoot-the-shit with all of you. This WEEK we discuss body mods and some of the crazy people who get them, a scary movie pitch staring Gary Busey, personal shop musings, a cool video of a real life alien, and we also introduce our new producer, Noah. I hang out with Doug, a good friend and client of mine. Doug is a school teacher in Massachusetts and gives me some hilarious yet informative insight on what teaching is like in 2021. Every time I've ever been around Doug he's got some horribly hilarious insight on real topics and his witty delivery makes him just a great hang, especially if you like smart people. He never fails to make me laugh. We talk teaching, slavery, WWII history, and politics. About an hour in, we slide right into nerd territory with Starwars, Cyberpunk, and Simulation Theory. We end on a high note with family dysfunction. Great episode.
It's 2021 and the world is basically back to normal! Here is your bi-weekly break from the insanity of the world. Michelle and I had a lot of fun discussing: happenings around the shop, the argument against the no-bra-club, astral projection, the large hardon collider, video game developer CD Project Red, blood quantum and Native Americans, and my fucked up sleep schedule. Happy New Year!
We're back to our regular programming this week: Michelle and I talk about words you can't say, sandwiches Ninjas eat, and I summarize an important 90s film featuring the late Sean Connery and the legacy he left on the internet.
We got a great episode for you guys this week! My good friend and fellow tattoo artist Jeff Burt stopped by to shoot the shit. Jeff is an amazing artist with 20+ years of experience and is also the owner of his shop Pleasure In Pain, in Taunton MA. We begin by talking about the funny quirks of the tattoo trade, and his early beginnings. The conversation evolves into tales of strange but real paranormal encounters we've had. Michelle shows up around the 1 hour mark to talk shop and add to our spooky story greatest hits list. Near the end of the episode my wonderful wife May shows up for the first time to hang out for a bit.
Michelle and I talk about how teenagers these days are basically doing what generations of Christians have told them to do: Abstain from sex. Faced with low birth rates and a decreasing population, the Japanese government is forced to do one thing... I also go through some of my musings from the past couple of weeks including but not limited to my recent appointment with a bank lender who couldn't stay awake, and the length of my number 2s. It's a good episode.
Anxiety, Hypochondria, drugs, menstrual blood art. It's a new episode of The Inkaholics featuring your favorite curious weirdos. Missed you!
It's been a long two weeks. Sorry for the delay. You see, last week I was at work and took a breath that made me think I was suddenly leaving this earth. Michelle was away on vacation and I spent the week trying to keep my mental shit from splitting at the rivets. Funny and informative.
Michelle "Coach" Carter is back at the big brown table with me this week and I'm super excited to have my best bud hangin' out with me. Seriously one of my favorite episodes filmed so far. We give out poor advice, talk about video games, how I never wanted a little sister, plans for a future illustration book we'd like to make, the sweetness of antifreeze, more mirror dimensions, laugh a lot, and talk about nothing at all. Did I mention we tattoo sometimes? Don't forget to check us out on Youtube!
Dani and I lament of awkward angry childhood long lost. Secret farts, troubled kids, rotten classmates. Really we have nothing to cry about; we grew up lucky, with our shit together. But nevertheless we have fun talking about the weird and goofy things that happened when we were growing up.
Hide your moms, it's almost F**k Boy Fall! My mischievous long time client, Tall Ass John came by the studio Monday to drink beer and talk shit. He's 6'30" tall and this dad has a special thing for moms. Talk about Oedipus! John is basically a lanky looking sour patch kid, a ball-buster with a big heart. He's been getting tattooed by me for about 8 years and has become a good friend. These days we barely get anything done because the kid has me laughing more than tattooing. A technical issue (my stupid ass) botched the first half, but we picked things back up and kept shit talking about music and life absurdities. Enjoy!
We're BACK! We missed you guys! After a much needed break, Michelle and I get back to work on both the tattoo studio and the podcast. We talk a lot about recent happenings and our daily musings while we were on break. Near the end of the podcast we have a discussion on the merits of lying and try to fake each other out by lying to each other.
Michelle and I covered a lot in Episode 7. We chat about the current state of tattooing. Later on, I have a total crisis in sense of humor as we discuss why it took two separate film sessions for this current episode to drop. And the best part: We got to answer your questions! We asked our fans to submit hard hitting questions about the tattoo industry and we answered them. Covering topics from tattoo meanings to reasons for getting the inside of your *ahem* bum tattooed, we go deep into some muddy waters.
I love leading Dani down little rabbit holes littered with land mines! Dani and I talk shop, having kids, relationships, and social media in the tattoo industry. Things get silly we clearly can't keep things PC. Best friends club. Dani Ryan is our resident artist at 1001 Troubles Tattoo. She was featured on season 12 of Ink Master, of Paramount Network, and won 2nd Place. ----more---- This episode was filmed in March before we closed down the shop for the pandemic.
Peeing with the bathroom door open and other things. Michelle and Fredd trade questions about their careers and lives which include a few funny shop stories and random anecdotes. Updates on the shop. Thanks to all our supporters!
Fredd and Michelle go all over the map on this one. They discuss local celebrities, tattoo shop regulars, jumping dimensions, family portrait tattoos, superstitions, and a creepy Japanese doctor with an interesting hobby (he preserves the tattoos of deceased people! Check us out on our YouTube channel to see the pictures. Creepy!) Enjoy!
Michelle and I discuss guns in schools, dick tattoos and tattooing private areas, why anytime of the year is a good time for a tattoo, and how shop ownership isn't as glamorous as everyone thinks it may be.
