Glenda and GTP win the VFB Championship, Pam and the Peaceful People win the B-Team Championship, and Cassidy and the Floob becomes the Medals Champ. Mugs and Medal are on their way to Missouri, Kansas, and Michigan! On to VFB 6!
Roger and the Redskins prove once again that consistency wins as he travels to the VFB Championship to face-off against Glenda's Trash Pandas. Glenda's first VFB Championship and possibly the first female VFB Champion after Roger beat Becca and the Human Trash last year. Both teams have trash in their name, VFB keeps throwing bags of trash at the Rog, and he quickly recycles them. Down in the B-Team Championship, Pam's Peaceful People have risen to the top to face-off against powerhouse Alyssa and the Cracks who barely missed out on the playoffs back in week 14. It will be an uphill battle for mom as she and Patrick Mahomes try to get the Peeps' name on a coffee mug, but with a little yoga and concentration exercises next week, she'll be drinking coffee out of that sweet mug by the end of Jan.
Two major upsets in the first round of the playoffs with San Antonio Marksmen taking out the number 1 BK9, and U MAD BRO taking out number 2 Legion of Doom. GTP and Karlin Redskins also advance to Round 2. B Teams left in the Coffee Mug bracket are Original Brooklyn Nein, Pam‘s Peaceful People, Alamo Asscracks, and Team Bagel.
The Brooklyn Nein retains 1st place and finishes with the best regular season record at 11-3; San Antonio Marksmen barely make it into the last spot of the playoffs after an unpleasant Monday night nail-biter of a battle with the Puppy Collector. Playoffs begin next week.
Firedogs get their first most points medal this season at 147 and better their playoffs chances; Legion of Doom loses his long standing 1st place in the league with a weird loss to the Original Brooklyn Nein, allowing the “true” Brooklyn Nein to slide into 1st place; Mark and Jessica choose to abide with playoffs spots on the line
Alyssa and the Asscracks gets most points and moves up in the medals race. Playoffs are approaching, with 7 teams having a greater than 80% chance to grab one of the eight A-Team Champ Mug spots, and just one spot left being fought for by 4 teams - Asscracks (70% chance to grab the final spot), Firedogs (50% chance), Bagel (20% chance), and OBGYN (Jaime - 5% chance). Alyssa and Joe/Tracy play eachother next week and this will likely decide who gets the 8th spot.
U Mad Bro takes her 3rd back-to-back moist points medal this week at 149 and claiming 5th place in the league, Mark falls just out of playoffs territory as expected due to his loss to the Redskins, and three special guests join us in the studio.
Jess gets most points again this week nicely securing herself in playoffs territory, and a “late night Mark after dark” joins the pod this week to discuss his recent rise to playoffs land, and how he'll try to keep it.
Jessica and U MAD Bros take out BK9 this week with the „lowest points“ most points medal this season at 123, and no one reaches the 7-2 record
Legion of Doom takes most points retaining 1st place, BK9 grabs Dynamic Duo with his 1st medal this season moved to 2nd place; 5 teams remain under dude abide trade locks
Cassidy and the Floob take most points again and into 2nd place, while 9 teams including Legion of Doom choose to abide
Floobie Doobie‘s turn out a 162 point smash hit with most points, and Tanner stops playing big time
Team Bagel shows they are one with everything as they smash most points this week and climb into 3rd place. Mark goes back to his legacy franchise name, The San Antonio Marksmen.
LOD hits 4-0 as the last man standing undefeated, and Roger succeeds in a dirty deal with a dude abides. Names changing all around.
The Karlin Redskins get most points and retain their undefeated record, whispering to Doom from behind. Socially Distanced Duo achieve worst performance in VFB history.
Glenda‘s Trash Pandas rummage through VFB garbage to find a win, and spicy space tubes leaves out 2 key players with laziest dude abides this season
Legion of Doom wins most points and dynamic duo, newbie Fornes wins first game
End of Episode song tracks from weeks 11-16: (1 - Above and Beyond, 2 - 1-800-DIRTY, 3 - Stories from the Street, 4 - Monologe Splasher, 5 - Club 2000, 6 - All Guys)
Championships round up plus a special highly edited Dude Abides segment
Today I speak to human trash manager Becca, an 11-2 team that will play for the VFB Championship mug next week. Marksmen and Newmanators play for the B-Team mug.
Mark and Joey join a longer than normal podcast, and we get into the weeds with the brothers‘ opinions on everything. Joe's fiancé Tracey listens in nearby and expresses surprise and annoyance when she discovers she‘s one of two fiancé's. Joe announces he's joining the Air Force, and his VFB5 participation is „up in the air“ at this point in time.
New podcast for the VFB!
We are a few days into the playoffs, things are getting crazy, enjoy this week 13 recap and the regular season as well as some insights into the upcoming elimination battles ahead of us. Jaime and the Newmanators dials in to offer no additional value to the podcast whatsoever, and Jessica is fired after her first day of co-hosting.
This inaugural episode features an interview with the one and only Jessica... the tenacious leader of U Mad Bro?.
