The holiday season is upon us, and in this episode, Kristina gives a few tips on getting through Thanksgiving with Fido.

There are some dogs whose coat is good enough for cold temperatures and can keep them warm. Most dogs can benefit from an extra layer of protection from the elements such as rain or snow and keep their core body temp regulated. I love walking my dogs as much as they love being walked. Having a sweater or coat on your dog can keep our walks possible through the cold weather season.

The first national dog day was in 2004. Even though national dog day is for every dog, it is especially for those waiting to be adopted at shelters and rescues because a forever home is pretty much the ultimate dog day present. How will you celebrate your dog?

For some of us, Doggy Daycares are new. We know that it can be a place that dogs love to go. There are 4 basic kinds. So, how do we find a good one and what happens while Fido is there? Eve Molzhon joins me again and talks about finding a doggy daycare that is right for you and when you do what is required for enrollment. It is not as simple as driving up with Fluffy and dropping them off.

Yes, dogs have personalities, and they have different characteristics for one another. During my many years of being a dog Walker, I saw the very different types of personalities that dogs could have. Also, in this episode, I answer a question about how long training Fido should take.

As Humans, we mostly live through our eyes. But Dogs are nosey. Sniffing lets them learn about the world around them in their unique way. It's essential to let them take time to sniff because it is how they examine their world. Sniffing is also beneficial for a dog's mental health.

We can use actions to show our pups how much they mean to us in a language they understand. Building the kind of connections I'm going to talk about helps Fido because extra attention can make a dog feel loved; in turn, they provide you with the same amount of love, care, and trust.

Those 'Oh, Shit!' moments are when you realize that you and Fido are approaching a tense situation that could end up with either of you in the emergency room. Eve Molzhon and I take a deep dive into several types of aggressive situations that can come up while out with Fido. From barking to all-out attack and what to do if it happens. As we close, our talk turns to using a 'word' routine to get their attention when Fido is not food motivated.

Dogs are very loving and affectionate, and they show it by being completely comfortable with whoever they're sleeping with. There have been times I wonder why do they sleep like that or how can they sleep like that and be comfortable? I've found that whether your pup sleeps on their bed or yours how they sleep can tell you much about them.

Adoption of a Dog is an exciting time. Many decisions need to be made that support adopting the best dog into your family. Brushing is an integral part of Fido's grooming. It's also an important element of keeping them healthy. There is so much excitement when we decide to adopt our new family member! Dogs are social by nature. I'm going to talk about dog parks. Dogs need the social interaction that they get from dog parks. Luckily, I did not find out the hard way that going to them is not always simply showing up and bringing Fido in. It should be thought of in that how safe are you and Fido going to be there? Second, I am going to answer a listener question. One came in regarding last week's episode, and I'm going to answer that. And then you'll get a little preview of next week's episode.

Do you talk to your dog? I do! We talk to our dogs as part of training and to be leader of the pack. Dogs may not have a huge vocabulary but they do understand our tone with them. In my dogwalker tip I let you know why I never let my dogs drink anything other than what I bring out on our walk.
