This week, Kiff welcomes Dr. Alisa Shawn, co-founder of ACTORS FOR AUTISM, a non-profit that trains people on the autistic spectrum to work in the entertainment industry.  Dr. Alisa Shawn is an Autism Expert, Technology Curriculum Developer, Professor at Autism University, Executive Director/Founder of Actors for Autism, Author, and Speaker based in the United States.  Her site, www.dralisashawn.com provides individuals on the Autistic Spectrum resources for becoming employed or self-employed. Her website is a wealth of information with a weekly blog www.dralisashawn.com/blog. Dr. Shawn is one of the most sought after consultants in the country. Her technology and curriculum designs were the 1st of its kind to become vendored by the California Regional Centers.  She has designed vocational training programs for adults on the autistic spectrum in Film, Animation, Video Game Design, Visual Effects, and 360VR that are offered at www.afahub.com. These programs have trained hundreds of adults and assisted them in obtaining employment.  Dr. Shawn has a Doctorate in Education with a specialization in Media & Technology from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California. She also holds a Masters Degree in Special Education with an Inclusion Certification from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology.
