Matt recently squatted an impressive 520 pounds for 24 reps! Listen as Dave and Matt talk about this feat of strength, strength endurance, and longevity! Matt Wenning is a three-time world champion powerlifter. He has directed over 6000 troops in strength, conditioning, and wellness for the U.S. Army, including Infantry and Ranger Divisions. He holds a Masters Degree in Biomechanics and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Ball State University. Matt grew up in Indiana, raised by a hard-working, middle-class family. His mother was a nurse, and his father was a Marine and truck driver. When he was six years old, Matt was hit by a car going 50 mph, which took a toll on his physical development. After undergoing 12 months of full leg casts and 12 months in a boot, his legs were underdeveloped. Four years later, Matt discovered lifting. It allowed him to see he was capable of anything, despite what he had gone through during his recovery from his injuries. Then, when Matt was 13, his father passed away due to cancer, a result of complications from agent orange. That's when he started lifting in competitions. In the beginning, lifting was just a stepping stone to the goal of football. But it became a much larger pathway in his life. Lifting inspired Matt to attain higher education and become a strength coach. He excelled with a 3.9 GPA. He has been an adviser for the NFL, an international speaker for the NSCA, and a contractor for border patrol, airborne divisions, and the pentagon. It was truly incredible. But today, we're not going to spend as much time talking about Dr. Yuan's testimony, but more importantly, we're going to talk to him about his latest book, Holy Sexuality and the Gospel, and learn how we (as men) can understand same sex attraction better, and as fathers, how to  biblically love and minister to those (maybe our own children) who have same sex attraction. About Logistics Marketing Advisors Logistics Marketing Advisors (LMA) is a full-service marketing agency exclusively focused on helping logistics businesses drive profitable growth. Our niche focus gives us the industry understanding and contacts required to market effectively to logistics decision makers. We're a HubSpot-certified, inbound marketing agency with the following specialties: branding and positioning strategy, lead generation, web design and development, content marketing, public relations, and creation of branded and educational content like videos, case studies, white papers and other sales support materials. LMA's approach recognizes that logistics services today are BOUGHT, not sold. Marketing tactics that interrupt and annoy busy logistics executives get ignored. These buyers now have access to a wealth of information and do their own research on how to solve supply chain problems, and what providers can do to help. At LMA, we help logistics businesses get found by prospects during this research phase. Instead of building a marketing engine to solicit, we build an engine that naturally attracts the best prospects. The best way to do that is with helpful, provocative content that leads prospects to conclude, for themselves, that your company has the best solution for their specific challenge. Key Takeaways: Logistics Buyers Survey Jim Bierfeldt is the President of Logistics Marketing Advisors, a full-service marketing agency exclusively focused on helping logistics businesses drive profitable growth. In the podcast interview, Jim shared some of the findings from the logistics buyers survey that his firm publishes every other year since 2014. Jim and his team have done the research to really understand what shippers want from their 3PL. The survey results are available for free within the “Marketing Logistics Services” download on The LMA website. Below are a few of the survey questions that LMA asked people who buy 3PL services: When it comes to choosing a logistics product or service provider, which statement best describes your attitude and priority? Which sources of information do you rely on to stay current on logistics management strategies, service providers, and logistics industry news? Think about the last time you proactively reached out to a logistics business (that was not a current supplier) to learn more or to discuss a project. What led you to reach out? How do you prefer to be contacted by a logistics business? The survey results along with expert insights are contained in an easy to read 19 page PDF report available on LMA's home page. The report is completely free, no obligation, they don't even ask for your contact information. I'm used to the 280 character limit that Twitter gives me, but since I have more room here, let me tell you about myself! I graduated from Binghamton University in December of 2020 with a BA in English and I am looking to go into a career in the realm of public relations and social media. My passion lies in the field of athletics, whether that be college, professional sports, or athlete branding and marketing. However, I am open to learning and growing in different fields and have done internships in Lifestyle PR, higher education, and non-profit work. Currently, I am an Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant at St. John's University. In this role, I serve as the primary media contact for both Women's Volleyball and Softball, as well as being additional support for basketball. It is so exciting to be able to learn and grow new skills in the Big East Conference. Thanks to my position, I am also receiving a fully-funded Masters Degree in Sport Management. The knowledge I am learning in the classroom is invaluable. During undergrad, I took on leadership roles in various different clubs and organizations, including Dickinson Community Players (a student-run theatre group), Binghamton Dance Marathon (#FTK!), and my sorority, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi. I have worked with various different groups of people really honing in on my teamwork, leadership development, and communications skills. In addition, I spent two years interning in Binghamton's Athletic Department. Beyond the professional realm, I also am a creator. Since my YouTube comeback in January of 2019, I have been producing content focused on a wide variety of angles. My most popular videos include those depicting life at Binghamton University. My videos show every aspect of my life, encompassing my health and fitness journey and navigating post-grad life, the job-search and grad school. Passive investing is more than just putting money into an investment and watching it grow. It entails a lot of work. There's an asset that you need to manage and people you need to communicate with. That's where property managers come in. They do all the heavy-lifting – everything from leasing, maintenance, tenant communications, and accounting. Today our guests, Jake Lord and Jason Prignoli of Ethel Street Management, will share with us how they went from being investors to property managers managing over 100 units. Because they've been on the investors' side, they know the pain points and clients' needs, and it helps them to deliver better services. Listen now to their detailed case study on how PMs amplify equity!Remember, this is your MBA. Have a notepad handy, and get ready to take some notes!Key Points from This Episode: How Jake Lord and Jason Prignoli of Ethel Street Management went from just a couple of units to managing over 100 units in a year. How they are meeting the needs of their clients. Solving property management problems and issues with technology. In property management, you get what you pay for. How testimonials from property owners help them. Offering a lower price than the standard pricing but providing better services. What has driven them to bet on the long-term in the Lehigh Valley? How are their investors raising rents and finding deals in this market? Tweetables:“It's really fun being able to help our clients such as the fund be able to achieve various objectives, whether its financial or operational to truly meet the goals. That really is the fun of it all.” – Jason Prignoli“We're ambitious ourselves and we have ambitions for our units. And we're going to encourage owners to think the same so that they can get the most they can out of this investment.” – Jake Lord“You really need to be proactive. Know who are the people doing deals, building great relationships, thinking about brokers, bankers, insurance brokers, lenders, anyone who touches transactions you need to become and build relationships with and if you're not interested in building those relationships, then maybe this isn't the industry for you. “The potential for creating novel brilliant solutions is not going to be found at one ivory tower or the other but in the middle, and we have to destigmatize what it looks like to be in the middle.” Annette Simmons Working with each other, rather than against each other, is what the world needs especially in times of conflict. While competition is inherently human, it can as well be divisive and cause people to pull towards different directions instead of working towards achieving a common goal. Annette Simmons is passionate about having collaborative narratives, and believes that storytelling is a tool that can enable people to see the bigger picture.  Annette Simmons is a successful consultant and author of five books including her most recent, Drinking From a Different Well: How Women's Stories Change What Power Means in Action   (2021)  Simmons' solo career started in 1997 with the success of her first book Territorial Games: Understanding and Ending Turf Wars at Work (AMACOM, 1997) a deep examination of the micro-behaviors that discourage truth telling, information sharing and resource re-allocation.  As a follow up Annette developed a facilitation guide called, A Safe Place for Dangerous Truths:Using Dialogue to Overcome Fear and Distrust at Work (AMACOM, 1998), full of tips for sharing truth in a safe way as well as principles and tools to shift the “truth telling” norms for one-on-one conversations and meetings. Her book about storytelling, The Story Factor (Basic Books, 3rd ed. 2019) introduced the business use of storytelling and was named one of The 100 Best Business Books of All Time (Penguin, 2009). She followed it with a workbook designed to develop a reader's “six stories” titled Whoever Tells the Best Story Wins: How to Use Your Own Stories to Communicate with Power and Impact (AMACOM, 2nd ed. 2015)  She started out with a marketing degree from Louisiana State University (1983) and a move to Australia that provided ten years of international business experience with Ericsson and J. Walter Thompson. Annette returned to the USA to earn a Masters Degree in social psychology and adult education at North Carolina State University in 1994.  Annette has been featured on CNBC's Power Lunch, NPR's Market Watch, talk radio programs, quoted in Fortune, Working Woman, Harvard Business Review, The Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, and dozens of other respected publications.  In addition to English her books have been published in Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Norwegian, German and Russian. In today's episode, Annette talks about the power of storytelling, and why it is important to have collaborative narratives when looking for solutions to shared problems.    Listen in! Books by Annette; Drinking From a Different Well: How Women's Stories Change What Power Means in Action  Territorial Games: Understanding and Ending Turf Wars at Work A Safe Place for Dangerous Truths:Using Dialogue to Overcome Fear and Distrust at Work Whoever Tells the Best Story Wins: How to Use Your Own Stories to Communicate with Power and Impact  Social Media Handles https://annettesimmons.com/   https://differentwell.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/annettesimmonsstory/ https://twitter.com/thestoryfactor?lang=en https://www.facebook.com/Annette.Simmons.StoryFactor At an early age, I read books that started me on this lifelong quest of believing that if you just work hard enough, you can figure it out. I facilitated this form of dialogue, and then eventually realized that storytelling was the magic tool to help someone to see a situation through another's eyes. When we're trying to maximize our potential, we need to be able to combine somebody else's narrative with our narrative into a bigger picture that includes us both. If we don't learn how to tell our story, and take someone on a little field trip about what we've seen, they can't see it. I help people learn how to create collaborative narratives, and work together and find opportunities that they just can't see when they're in silos. As long as people are arguing from these polar opposites, they are wasting the time that they could be creating solutions. The potential for creating novel brilliant solutions is not going to be found at one ivory tower or the other but in the middle, and we have to destigmatize what it looks like to be in the middle. We've optimized this idea that you can solve metrically, and therefore have scored badly in solving the things that just can't be measured. Creating potential is almost always a function of building collaborative relationships with other people. Commercial break The first four books that I wrote were really kind of power with strategies instead of power over strategies. One of the things that I'm finding is that people with the collaborative narrative don't just want to win, but they want to protect. One of the problems with a strictly competitive is that it makes us think that harm is just the cost of doing business. This particular book takes you through the stories that women tell that men don't, and takes you through the idea that moral wins actually undercut competitive wins. We need to do is we need to re-define harm avoidance, as something other than risk avoidance. We've got to learn how to redesign the way we keep track of who we are, and how successful we are, and women have a talent for it. It is time to redesign what power means in terms of the logistical design of systems so that women will be more attracted to these top jobs. Companies are going to have to provide the opportunity to do good as well as to do well, if they're going to attract women. My hope for this new book is I want women to not feel like they have to suck up to the guys in charge, but to feel like they have an opportunity to educate the guys in charge. Women have to start believing that they can see things that are invisible from a competitive narrative. Start trusting yourself, and start taking people on a field trip about what you know is true. ………………………………………………… Do you want to be a go to expert that news reporters, anchors and media producers turn to? They also surface a variety of tangible things organisations can do to reduce the exploitation of power, like:-        admit when there are failures, even though it is uncomfortable-        give immediate, timely and sustained support to victims and survivors, irrespective of the status of evidence and investigations-        integrate and emphasize values in vacancy notices, hiring, inductions and trainings-        ensure hires are screened, briefed, trained and sign a Code of Conduct-        build confidence in systems for reporting and investigations by resourcing them and showing results (e.g. an open accessible dashboard on the website tracking complaints follow-up, timely investigations, and following through with disciplinary actions); -        prevent retaliation against those reporting misconduct, even the subtle forms (e.g. letting contracts expire)-        create psychologically safe spaces to learn and speak up (e.g. upstander trainings as well as facilitating interactions between men and women, professionals and non-professionals, international and national staff)-        obliging every team across the organisation to select a team objective related to values, and assessing progress at the end of the year.Dr. Gaya Gamhewage is a medical doctor and public health expert with three decades of experience in the health sector. She has worked with the World Health Organization for over 20 years, mostly leading institutional capacity-building initiatives for health emergencies, including COVID-19 trainings. Tom Valone, Ph.D., P.E., is a retired Patent Examiner who has specialized in Future Energy technologies developed by Nikola Tesla and other inventors since 1984 when he gained his Masters Degree in Engineering Physics. He worked as a College Instructor in Physics, Robotics and Engineering Physics and earned his Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in 1990. He began working as a Patent Examiner at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in 1996. In 1999, Dr. Valone organized his first Conferences on Future Energy that was scheduled to be held at the US State Department, but led to media controversy when one of the scheduled presenters was to speak about the viability of Cold Fusion technology. The resulting Cold Fusion controversy led to the State Department officially withdrawing its support, forcing the Conference to be relocated to another venue, and his sacking by the USPTO. This led to a six year legal battle, which resulted in him being eventually reinstated in 2005, after gaining his Ph.D. in General Engineering. Dr Valone retired in 2017 after a 20 year career at the USPTO as a federal employee, and began working full time at his non-government organization, the Integrity Research Institute. He has written or edited multiple books dealing with Nikola Tesla, electrogravitic propulsion, electrotherapy, and zero point energy. He has personally invented or assisted in the invention of many breakthrough technologies, which are available at the Integrity Research Institute. In this interview with Dr. Michael Salla, Dr. Valone discusses how he became interested in Future Energy, Nikola Tesla, a century of suppression of breakthrough technologies, the role of the USPTO in this suppression, the controversy over his 1999 Conferences on Future Energy, the creation of his Integrity Research Institute, and some of the breakthrough electrogravitic propulsion, electrotherapy, and zero point energy inventions he has personally worked on or whose development he has supported. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/exopolitics/support

About Monday Musings www.mondaymusings.org "I began blogging years ago sending my thoughts (Musings) out to my School faculty in an attempt to share my vision, and to open up the lines of communication. They've become somewhat of an expectation over the last many years, and it's fair to say that they've morphed into opportunities for me to address issues, share my educational fairytale, and to celebrate accomplishments with the surrounding school community, and indeed the world. They've also helped me “sharpen the saw” so to speak, as the professional discourse that stems from these posts has allowed me to share ideas and issues with educational leaders from around the globe. I am a featured blogger for THE INTERNATIONAL EDUCATOR (TIE online), and you can follow my posts there as well. I'm also an adjunct professor for Endicott College, teaching in their Masters Degree leadership program in Madrid and Prague every summer. Essentially, the Musings are my attempt to stay current, as well as a forum to gain valuable feedback on how to turn a school from good to great. It's an on-going process…over 250 posts and counting and still so much to learn." --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/nathan-leslie/message

Rachel received her first degree in Hertfordshire in the UK (near London).  When she finished, she decided to have some time out of education and worked in London in the financial industry for three years.   In 1989, she moved with her husband to be to Hong Kong and got a job lecturing in English and Business Communication at the Open University.  Whilst in Hong Kong, she also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and and a Masters Degree in Lifelong learning.   In Hong Kong, she also had two children, her eldest child was born in 1994 and suffered with ear infections and reacted badly to antibiotics.  In desperation, she attended a six week evening course in homeopathy with a homeopath who was practising in Hong Kong, but interestingly born in Tasmania, and her and her family's lives changed.  Homeopathy then became the basis of the healthcare in her family. Rachel moved back to the UK, back to the country in Suffolk, in 1999 and settled into family life on a small holding. She continued to work in distance education online while the children were small, but 15 years ago, she decided to retrain  to be a Homeopath  and has now been qualified and practicing in Suffolk for ten years. Alongside Homeopathy, she also offers Bach Flower Therapy, Homeobotanical therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Kinesiology (using NAET which is an allergy elimination technique) and Presentchild® Translation. Presentchild® is a therapy that can really help to improve communication within the family unit. During lockdown, she also trained to be an end of life counsellor using the Before I Go method. She also teaches for the organisation 'Homeopathy at Wellie Level' which teaches farmers how to use homeopathy with their animals. Rachel loves to combine her educational background with her profession now, teaching people how to use Homeopathy effectively.    You can reach Rachel here: www.rachelwelshhealth.co.uk and  rachelwelshhealth@gmail.com
