Are you persuaded today to follow Christ? Are you motivated to have a closer walk with Him? To be "almost persuaded" is to be almost saved. That state does not really exist. One is either saved or list. Jesus said in Rev. 3:20" Behold I stand at the door and Knock, if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and sup with him, and he with me" Jesus is calling you to come to him today Will you obey and come to Him?

Join Pastor Jack Morris today as he takes us to Acts chapter 26, and the story of the Apostle Paul's opportunity to defend himself in front of King Agrippa from allegations brought by Jewish critics. Let's learn how this powerful king was almost persuaded to follow Christ and how our testimony can have a real impact today. Acts 26:28-29 Then Agrippa said to Paul, Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian? Paul replied, Short time or longI pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains. Key Verses: Acts 26:19-32 Festus, Agrippa, and Bernice all heard Paul tell, not only his story, but the message that all people -- from the least to the greatest -- can be forgiven of their sins through repentance and faith in Jesus, the Messiah.
We left off in Acts chapter twenty-six with Paul's defense before King Agrippa and Festus the Roman governor. In presenting his defense Paul recounts his conversion experience and calling by God, to make him a minister and witness of Jesus. We're told all of this almost persuaded Agrippa to become a Christian. But as we'll see we are either for Christ or against Him. The almost Christian or the so-called undecided is still against Jesus. Think about where you're at today and allow the Lord to speak to you through His Word. Today on a Daily Walk we turn back to Acts where King Agrippa is almost persuaded to become a Christian. We're about to continue with Paul's defense before those who are unjustly holding him. We find Paul, instead of seeking to be released from imprisonment, uses these circumstances to proclaim the gospel and the power of God to his captors. Almost Persuaded Acts 26:24-29 I. Take Every Opportunity to Share the Gospel II. Call For a Response Every Single Time III. Pray for Salvation of Everyone
Agrippa asks Paul if he is trying to make Agrippa a Christian. Paul says yes, on God's timeline. Conversion, that's is not up to us. Salvation, that's in God's hands. Our job is to be faithful, to preach, teach, and invite. But we don't save people. That is the work of the Holy Spirit. So, today, be faithful, no matter where you find yourself. Pray for others. Pray for the Spirit to move. Our job is to be faithful. The rest is up to God. Join us for our daily reflections with Andy. In 10 short minutes, he'll dig a little deeper into Scripture and help you better understand God's Word.If you'd like to receive this daily reflection on your phone, text @39110 to 81010 to sign up. Message Us!Ever wondered why you lose patience so quickly, yet feel an unending patience from God? Or perhaps you've questioned the depth of God's patience and whether it could ever run out. Strap in as we explore these intriguing questions and more, delving deep into the scriptures, specifically Psalm 86, 1 Timothy 1, and 2 Peter 3, to understand the nature and extent of God's forbearance. Let's uncover the lessons we need to learn about embodying patience and grace towards others, taking cues from the divine master of patience. Our journey doesn't stop there. We unfold Jesus' parable about a landowner, his vineyard, and the tenant farmers, a profound narrative that casts God's patience and grace in a unique light. As we unmask the parable's deeper meanings, we also confront the reality of Jesus's rejection and subsequent salvation. It's a humbling reminder of God's generosity and His offer of access to His Kingdom through faith in Jesus. Finally, we turn our attention to the poignant poem "Almost Persuaded" by Philip Bliss - a poetic warning against taking too long to repent and the profound significance of embracing the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. As we conclude, we hope to inspire you to recognize and appreciate the vastness of God's patience, and to practice patience in your own life. Let's not just understand God's patience; let's respond to it, let's embody it in our daily walks.Support the show
Introduction:How sad it is when sharing the Gospel that some people reject it outright. My encounter with a motorcycle gang in Thirsk. Drawing board with the story: Almost persuadedRead TextExplore textResponse from FestusPaul asserting the reality of the resurrection of Jesus as being sane and credibleBasing this on the law and prophets and addressing Agrippa as to his decision. It is a clear conundrum: If he says no, then he denies his own people and his cultureIf he says yes, then why does he not accept Jesus as the Messiah? His response is sarcastic by avoiding the issuePaul asserts his primary function in life to lead people to Christ.Does not respond to sarcasm, but takes a very serious view of the consequencesDoes demonstrate his innocence of charges successDoes not get released, future is determinedSimilarly to JESUS HE IS DECLARED INNOCENT 3 times but is still in custodyApplication Where are you standing in response to Jesus? Are you almost persuaded? If you believe? Have you confessed and repented? Are you bringing forth deeds consistent with that repentance?

A message about the sad reality of those who are not fully convinced of Christianity's truth.
Today we finish a series of 3 discussions about why we seem to have so many people professing to be Christians in our congregations that don't really act like it. Our song today is a lament to the tragedy of those who have good intentions and yet miss the mark and are "Almost Persuaded". Walking the church isle at an invitation and saying repeated words that are rote, redundant and not from the heart does nothing for anyone.

While being imprisoned in Caesarea, Paul was able to speak to influential political figures. He made a defense and preached to Felix (Acts 24:10-25). Felix trembled at Paul's preaching but left him imprisoned (Acts 24:26-27). Festus (the next governor) reopened Paul's case (Acts 25). He met with the Jewish leadership in Jerusalem. These wicked men […]
Today on the Rarified Heir Podcast we are talking to country music royalty. We are talking to Lisa Sutton who's has not one but four musical legacies and estates to look after. Her mother, the great singer Lynn Anderson is best known for her iconic #1 hit, “Rose Garden” and released, count ‘em, 72 singles in her career. Lisa's father, was Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame member Glenn Sutton who produced “Rose Garden” and wrote the Grammy winning David Huston hit “Almost Persuaded” as well as “What Made Milwaukee Famous (Made A Loser Out of Me)”, “Your Good Girls Gonna Go Bad” & countless other songs. The architecht of Countrypolitan sound of the 60s, Glenn's songs were recorded by everyone from Etta James to The Louvin Brothers to Jerry Lee Lewis and Rod Stewart. What's more, Lisa's grandparents were Casey Anderson and Liz Anderson. Liz wrote many country music hits in the 50s and 60s including “Wife of the Party” and “Mama Spank” and it was Casey who invited an iconic soon-to-be country music icon back to their house for pancakes after a show that led to Country music history. What's more Lynn talks to us about growing up in a household where being the ‘hero child' was something of the norm, where riding horses was a huge part of life. What's more, Lisa is so invested in her family legacy that the amateur Rosarian, even brought about the comeback of the world champion Lynn Anderson Hybrid Tea Rose. From songwriting credits, to intellectual property to memorabilia to following through on her parents and grandparents wishes, we don't think you will find anyone more dedicated to her family legacy than Lisa Sutton. And it's all next on the Rarified Heir Podcast.
What does it mean to be a person of belief in a season when skepticism is more popular? In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the middle ground of being “almost persuaded” to believe in Jesus. He presents a series of statements, such as “I am persuaded; Jesus of Nazareth is the Way, the Truth, and the Life,” and discusses why each proclamation is true. Belief is not static but is something that is constantly growing or diminishing. Pastor Allen invites us to personally reflect on each statement as a way to strengthen our convictions so we can serve the Lord with an undivided heart.
