This Sunday, Pastor John continues our “A Healthy You” series with a powerful message from Ephesians 1:7–14 titled “Established Identity.” In a world where identity is constantly questioned and reshaped, we'll discover who we truly are in Christ—saved by grace, selected with purpose, and sealed with security. Through the rich truths of redemption, inheritance, and the sealing of the Holy Spirit, this message will remind us that we don't strive for identity—we live from identity. Don't miss this encouraging and clarifying message about seeing yourself the way God already sees you—and living confidently from that foundation.
Pastor John continued our Established series by showing how easily we place God in second rather than surrendering fully to Him. In 1 Samuel 4–6, we're reminded that anything we rely on for control, approval, power, or comfort will ultimately fail us. The invitation this week is clear: lay down every rival and let God truly be first.
Thanks for listening.

In this week's sermon, Pastor John D. Putnam delivers a powerful and deeply practical message titled “Love Takes Time.” In a culture built on speed, instant results, and quick gratification, Pastor Putnam challenges believers to embrace a biblical truth that runs counter to modern expectations: real love is not formed in a moment—it is developed through process. Drawing from Philippians 1:6, this message reminds us that salvation is the beginning of our journey, not the finished product. While God's love toward us is immediate and unconditional, our growth into Christlikeness requires shaping, refining, and time. Love is not microwaved; it is formed. “Love Takes Time” is a call to surrender our timelines to God and allow Him to complete the work He has begun. Whether you are a new believer or decades into your walk with Christ, this message will challenge you to stop resisting the formation and start embracing the refinement. God is not finished with you yet. You are still on the wheel. And if you remain faithful in the forming, He will complete what He started. Pastor John continues with the series Power in the Gospel. The Gospel gives us our identity and purpose.
What if your entire life was shaped by something that wasn't even true? In this eye-opening message, we explore how false beliefs become false realities—and how those realities quietly shape our identity, our choices, and even our understanding of God. From the powerful psychological lessons of the Milgram experiment to Jesus' parable of the prodigal son in Gospel of Luke 15, this sermon challenges us to examine the narratives we've built in our own minds. The younger son believed: Freedom meant leaving his father Satisfaction meant spending everything Identity meant defining life on his own But sin always sells a dream and delivers a nightmare. When he “came to his senses,” everything changed. This message will challenge you to: Stop believing your own press Question the false narratives excusing sin or fear Refuse to let feelings become your authority Embrace your restored identity in Christ You are not still condemned. You are not still defined by your worst moment. You are not still wearing a scar God has already removed. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” — Second Epistle to the Corinthians 5:17 God is calling you to leave false reality and step into the new and true reality He has prepared for you. Light Up Your Darkness | The Gospel of John | John 1:4–5“In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:4–5Darkness doesn't disappear by accident — it is driven out by light. In this message from our series The Gospel of John, we explore the powerful truth found in John 1:4–5: Jesus is the Light of Life. His light doesn't avoid darkness… it confronts it, exposes it, and overcomes it.One of the most challenging parts of following Christ is becoming aware of the darkness within our own hearts — the hidden struggles, the unaddressed sin, the fear, the pride, the wounds we try to manage on our own. But the good news of the Gospel is this: Jesus doesn't shame us in our darkness — He shines into it.If this message encourages you, make sure to like, subscribe, and share it with someone who needs the light of Christ today.#GospelOfJohn #LightInTheDarkness #John1 #jesusthelight This week's message is from our Lead Pastor, John Letterman.Let's Connect: http://bit.ly/3XbRE9TFree Access To RightNow Media:https://app.rightnowmedia.org/join/rccreadingSocial Media:@riverviewchristian on Facebook and InstagramWebsite:riverviewchristian.churchSupport the show

This week, Pastor John focuses on the Transfiguration of Jesus, emphasizing the importance of recognizing God's glory and presence in our daily lives. He highlights that a glimpse of God's glory offers a new perspective, preparing us for the challenges of life and inspiring worship. Ultimately, Pastor John encourages everyone to seek out God's presence in their surroundings and allows the beauty of Jesus to transform their lives.
Rhetorical question: "Have you ever made a choice that was not God's best for you?" In "Power of Choices" Pastor John says you are not alone, but we always need to confess our mistakes and "forsake" (renounce) your choice and the Bible says we get another chance.Support the show

Pastor John teaching from the Book of Leviticus Chapters 24-25.
Pastor John walks through 2 Samuel 18 and selected verses from 2 Samuel 19, focusing on the conflict between David and his son Absalom and the events surrounding the battle and its aftermath. The study traces the consequences of David's earlier sin, highlighting the biblical principle that we reap what we sow, while also showing David's deep love for his rebellious son and the grief that follows Absalom's death. Along the way, Pastor John addresses themes of God's sovereignty, the importance of speaking truthfully, and the tension between personal sorrow and faithfully carrying out our responsibilities. This teaching also points to the balance of God's justice and mercy, reminding listeners that while sin has real consequences, the Lord is able to restore and extend grace through Jesus Christ. This message offers thoughtful insight into the life of David and practical encouragement for trusting God and walking faithfully in everyday life.

After a couple of weeks away due to weather, we were able to gather together to celebrate the Lord. We start by praying for our healing needs and those of loved ones. Pastor John then exhorts us to understand that the Lord is exactly who He says He Is. Even when life doesn't go as we want, it's not God, He Is. Then going to Luke 23 and 24, Pastor John looks to the Apostles and how their hearts burned when He was with them. If we understand who He Is, His words would mean more to us and our hearts would burn for Him too.
Have you ever watched other people's faith stories and wondered, “Why don't I experience God like that?” In this message, we talk about what it really means to experience God, not just learn about Him. It's easy to live off borrowed faith—sermons, books, testimonies—while never stepping into a living, personal relationship with Jesus ourselves. But Christianity was never meant to be a snow globe: beautiful to look at, but never entered. Through Scripture, real-life stories, and practical teaching, this sermon challenges us to stop watching from the outside and begin experiencing the Christian life firsthand. In this message, you'll discover: What it means to truly experience Jesus, not just study Him Why life change only happens when faith becomes personal How everyday obedience carries eternal impact What parts of your life today will matter for eternity? How loving God, loving people, making disciples, and walking faithfully shape an eternal legacy If you're hungry for more than routine religion—if you want your own stories of God's power, presence, and transformation—this message is for you.

John Nuzzo Leadership Podcast | A pastor's insights on leadership for the whole church
The Acceleration Mandate by Pastor John Nuzzo is a blueprint for a multi-generational expansion and multiplication of the Kingdom of God. This month, Pastor John has a discussion with Pastor Mark Poland, founding pastor of Discover Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pastor Mark's story exemplifies the message of the book. An impromptu meeting at a conference led to a relationship which ultimately accelerated Pastor Mark's church when he was about to give up. After starting the church during COVID with 450 people, it shut down shortly thereafter. Pastor Mark had a vision and a call, but it was bad timing. Hear the story of how that unexpected meeting helped Pastor Mark to get back up and relaunch with the help of the generation before him. God is turning the hearts of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers. The Acceleration Mandate by John Nuzzo is available wherever books are sold.
Today on the Evangelism Podcast I interview Pastor John Isaac, a minister working to spread the gospel in India despite the growing persecution of Christians in the region. We discuss the challenges of evangelism in India, where churches are being burned and pastors attacked, but also the incredible resilience and boldness of the Indian church. Pastor John shares how the body of Christ can best support and pray for the church in India during this difficult time.
