Join Pastor Stuart for the fifth lesson in our series, High Hopes. Today, we look at Titus 1:1-4 to hear a message . . . "In Hope of Eternal Life". Today, we are reminded that: The God who never lies has promised eternal life to those who trust in Jesus. The eternal life God promises is not simply about the quantity of life; it is also about the quality of life. The life God promises is the life of the age to come. Even though the full experience of this life is still to come, we who believe already have it. So let's rejoice in the sure and certain hope of eternal life in Christ. "'Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice! [Ps 37:4] Let your gentle spirit [your graciousness, unselfishness, mercy, tolerance, and patience] be known to all people. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]. [John 14:27] Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God's word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. The things which you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things [in daily life], and the God [who is the source] of peace and well-being will be with you." - Philippians 4:4-9 AMPRestore Church | Yorkville, ILSunday Mornings | 10 AMJordan & Melissa Gash, Pastorshttps://www.restorechurchyorkville.com

Join Pastor Stuart for the fourth lesson in our series, High Hopes. This week, we turn to Romans 5:1-5 to hear about . . . "Glorious Hope". Today, we are reminded that: Those who trust in Jesus have a glorious hope. This hope is grounded in God's grace to us in Christ. Because of Jesus, we who believe have a right standing with God. Since we have this standing in Christ, we not only have peace with God, but we also have assurance of God's ongoing, steadfast love for us. God's love for us in Christ culminates in glory. This is why we can rejoice in hope even in suffering. So in all our circumstances, let's rejoice in the sure and certain hope of glory we have in Christ. "For we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about our trouble in [the west coast province of] Asia [Minor], how we were utterly weighed down, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life [itself]. Indeed, we felt within ourselves that we had received the sentence of death [and were convinced that we would die, but this happened] so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead. Join Pastor Stuart for the next part in our new series, High Hopes. In this third lesson, we turn to Jeremiah 29:4-14 to hear about . . . "Plans Full of Hope". Today, we are reminded that: God's plans for his children give us hope for the future. God's plans are not our plans. God's plans have an ultimate goal in mind. God's plans for our ultimate good are found in Christ. So let's trust God as we wait in exile holding fast to the hope found in Christ. Join Pastor Stuart as we begin our new series, High Hopes. In this first lesson, we turn to Romans 15:13 to learn about . . . "The God of Hope". In this lesson, we learn: God is the God of hope. In the Scriptures, hope is the joyful anticipation of a confident expectation. We can abound in joyful and certain hope because the almighty God who cannot lie has promised. This kind of hope only comes through faith in Christ. So let's ask the Spirit to fill us with joy and peace as we believe in Jesus so we will abound in Christ-centered hope. Join Pastor Stuart for the last lesson in our series, The Good Life. This week, we turn to Matthew 5:10-12 to learn how . . . "The Good Life = Persecution for Following Christ". In this lesson, we learn: According to Jesus, those who are persecuted for following him have the good life. If we truly follow Jesus, we can expect some form of persecution. We experience God's blessing in persecution in several ways: Persecution because of Jesus is part of our confirmation that we belong to him. Suffering refines the faith of those who belong to Jesus. The witness of the church is often strengthened through persecution. We are promised the kingdom. All of this shows us why we can rejoice and be glad when we are persecuted. So, let's focus on Jesus knowing that nothing, not even persecution, can keep us from sharing in his glory. You can learn more about Westminster Presbyterian Church at https://www.westminsterpca.net.
