If you were to die today, what would happen to you after your final breath? Really – I want you to think about that. What comes after this life for you? Would you say Heaven comes next? And what is it that makes you think you would gain access? What is it that qualifies you? Have you been good enough? Does the good in you outweigh the bad? Have you asked forgiveness for absolutely every little thing? Have you made all your wrongs right? Have you done enough good deeds? Have you upheld all the laws and rules and lived a righteous enough life? If all eternity hangs on this, then it’s important to know – right? You want to be certain of your fate. If there’s one thing you really want to get right, it’s this. It’s a big deal – FOREVER. May I be honest with you? Sis, you haven’t been good enough. You haven’t upheld the laws. You have fallen short. You are not qualified for Heaven … not on your own. Your human effort has never been good enough, not even on your best day. And THAT is precisely why you need Jesus. In the Bible, there’s a man named Saul who had every reason to believe he could possibly meet the mark on his own. He had done everything he was supposed to do from birth. He was born into the right line of people, he had studied the law and lived in strict obedience without fault. Up until his encounter with Jesus, his entire life had been nothing but self-righteous acts, checking boxes, and persecuting anyone that tried to remove his boxes. This movement of Jesus was an enemy to his continual effort of earning Heaven. Saul wanted to put an end to the up-rise of the followers of Jesus who believed this one man’s blood could save them. He couldn’t possibly believe what had happened on that cross was a satisfactory fulfillment of the laws he had spent his life following. His full intentions were to kill the followers of Jesus – put an end to this nonsense of grace. Saul had gotten a letter from the high priest requesting the arrest of every follower of Jesus he found in the town of Damascus where this Jesus movement had spread in the immediate years following Jesus’ death on the cross. He was going to shut down this blasphemy. He was going to wipe out these people who weren’t good enough for Heaven. So now Saul is on his way to Damascus, mad as he can be with plans of destroying the hope of a faith that could save you from Hell – and there he has a divine encounter with Jesus. Yes, the Jesus who had died on the cross a few years earlier. The Jesus he was speaking out against. And here on the road as he was marching into Damascus to complete his mission of destroying this spreading faith, something miraculous happens. Acts 9, 3-9, “A light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?’ ‘Who are you, lord?’ Saul asked. And the voice replied, ‘I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.’ The men around him were speechless, for they heard the sound of someone’s voice but saw no one! Saul picked himself up off the ground, but when he opened his eyes he was blind. So his companions led him by the hand to Damascus. he remained there blind for three days and did not eat or drink.” Now, THAT is an encounter with Jesus. Saul could no longer deny him. He knew Jesus had been crucified. He knew he was dead. But now, he had experienced Jesus for himself and he just couldn’t deny him any longer. What happens next is my favorite part of the story. God tells a man named Ananias to go to a very specific street to find a very specific man’s house. God said a man named Saul would be in that house. Verse 15, God says, “Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message.” Yes, this is who God wants to use. He’s chosen him. Saul, the one who lived his entire life in self-righteousness, now completely humbled without sight, sitting in a house not eating or drinking, praying to God to understand how he could have possibly been so wrong all while he was trying to live so right. God had a message for him to spread. So Ananias goes to that specific street to a specific man’s house, finds Saul there and lays his hands on him. Verse 17, Ananias said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road, has sent me so that you might regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” Next it says, “Instantly something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized. Afterward he ate some food and regained his strength.” Do you know what he did immediately after this? He started preaching about Jesus! He began telling absolutely everyone he could about the Savior. The boxes of self-righteousness were gone, now, all that mattered was faith in the one who makes us righteous. JESUS. Saul begins going by his new name with a new identity – Paul. This new name meant ‘humble’, and that’s what had happened to him. He had been humbled. That’s what an encounter with Jesus does to us – it humbles us. It shows us that we alone could simply never be good enough – we desperately need him. Do you humbly accept what Jesus has done for you to gain Heaven? As humans we battle with one thing that gets in the way of the humility required to believe in Jesus – that’s our PRIDE. Pride says, “no, I’ll earn it.” Pride says, “I’ll be good enough on my own.” Pride puffs us up in some imaginary competition where the best one gets to be saved. After about 25 years of living with this new humble identity as Paul, the follower of Jesus covered and saved by grace, Paul writes a letter to the church he started in Philippi. He reminds them about the problem with self-righteousness and the beautiful solution of Jesus-righteousness. Philippians 3:3, “We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort.” How can he write that so confidently? Because he lived the first half of his life being totally self-righteous. Because that unmistakable encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus left him forever humbled and changed. Now he knows the truth – the truth that he was never good enough on his own and never could be. The truth that his pride was taking him straight to Hell. The truth that he’s only saved by grace through faith in Jesus. My sister, are you relying on what Jesus has done, or are you relying on what you’re doing? Is your confidence in what you can do, or is your confidence in what Jesus has already done? Paul reminds us that we were never meant to earn our way into Heaven by being good enough. We need something—and Someone—we could never provide for ourselves: the righteousness of Jesus. He says in Philippians 3:9, “I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.” So let me ask you one more time, Sis: if you were to take your final breath today, what would happen next? And more importantly, what are you counting on to get you there? Your goodness? Your church attendance? Your Bible reading? Your good deeds? Your ability to follow the rules? Your efforts to make things right? Your belief that, surely, the good in you outweighs the bad? Or are you counting on Jesus? Because there are only two ways to approach God: you can stand on what you have done, or you can stand on what Jesus has done. You can keep trying to be self-righteous, or you can receive the righteousness Jesus offers you. Your goodness will never be enough. Mine won’t either. That’s not bad news—that’s actually the best news! Because Jesus never asked you to be good enough to save yourself. He came because you couldn’t. You don’t have to earn what Jesus already paid for. You don’t have to prove yourself worthy. You don’t have to clean yourself up enough to deserve His grace. You simply have to surrender your pride, place your faith in Jesus, and receive what you could never accomplish on your own. Paul spent the first part of his life desperately trying to be righteous enough. Then he met Jesus and discovered the freedom of knowing that Jesus would be righteous for him. Sis, don’t spend another day trying to earn what Jesus is offering you as a gift. Drop your pride. Put down your boxes. Put down your self-righteousness. And put your confidence in Jesus. Because when your final breath comes, the question won’t be, “Were you good enough?” The answer to that is no. The question is, “What did you do with Jesus?” And if your answer is, “I put my faith in Him,” then you don’t have to face eternity hoping you were good enough. You can face it knowing He was. Not self-righteous. Jesus-righteous. That’s the only righteousness that will ever be enough. Laura Padilla, senior vice president of global partners and alliances at Okta Okta is rebuilding its partner program from the ground up. Speaking to In The Channel at Oktane 2026 in Las Vegas the day after the event’s Partner Day, Laura Padilla, head of partners at Okta, confirmed the company has unveiled the Okta Partner Accelerator, a re-architecture of its Elevate program that goes live in early 2027. The headline change is structure. Where Elevate leaned on revenue and transactions, the Accelerator offers three tracks – sales, services, and technology – that partners can join individually or in combination, with a referral option available across all three. MSPs and MSSPs land in the services track, which will now distinguish between different types of service offerings. Each track has three tiers – membership, advanced, and elite – and gating varies by track: net new logos for sales, deployments, go-lives, and CSAT for services, integrations for technology. Most current Apex partners will be grandfathered into elite, Padilla said, though some will map into the middle tier. The philosophy shift runs deeper. Elite-tier status will require a customer experience process, as Okta weights retention, adoption, and churn alongside acquisition. Okta is also expanding its services priming motion – previously applied to deals over $100,000 – to every deal, with account executives required to engage a specialized services partner early in the cycle, and new-logo and deployment incentives added. Padilla cited 2-3x services revenue on top of license for partners attaching governance, Auth0, and AI. On agentic AI, Padilla pointed to the Blueprint Alliance – which Okta formed with AWS, CrowdStrike, Google Cloud, Salesforce, and ServiceNow to standardize AI agent security – as a coming delivery opportunity, with a partner certification and specialization rolling out shortly, and agent registry and kill switch capabilities demoed on the keynote stage. Read Full Transcript Robert Dutt: Hello and welcome to In The Channel from ChannelBuzz.ca, bringing news and information to the Canadian IT channel community for the last 16 years. I’m Robert Dutt, editor of ChannelBuzz.ca, and your host for the show. My guest today came to the top job at Okta’s partner organization earlier this year, and spent her first seven months doing what good channel chiefs do: listening. What she heard was that Okta’s Elevate program was forcing partners of very different shapes – resellers, MSPs, boutiques, global SIs – through the same revenue-shaped keyhole. So last week at Oktane in Las Vegas, on its Partner Day, Okta unveiled its answer: the Okta Partner Accelerator, a rebuilt program with three distinct tracks, new customer outcome metrics, and a much bigger bet on partners delivering – and profiting from – professional services. We also get into the Blueprint Alliance, securing AI agents, and where she sees the biggest untapped opportunities in identity. Let’s get right into it, my chat with Laura Padilla. Robert Dutt: Laura, thanks for taking the time. I’m sure it’s been a busy week. Laura Padilla: Thank you so much for having me, Robert. I’m excited to talk to you today. Robert Dutt: Yesterday was Partner Day here at Oktane. Can you give me the elevator pitch? What was the message? What were you taking to partners for that? Laura Padilla: There has never been a better time to be an Okta partner than there is now. The company is all in on supporting our partners to really take us to the five and ten billion dollar level. We know we will not scale without partners. And so we announced several investments in areas where we’re going to support partners even further next year. The first is we announced our new partner program, called the Okta Partner Accelerator. What we’ve done is re-architected our previous program, Elevate, to align closer with the way that partners have their businesses and their business models. There are three distinct tracks now: you can be in the sales track, the services track, or the technology track – or you can be in two or three of those; you don’t have to just be in one. What this does is allow us to support partners even better in the way that they want to do business with us and our customers. We know that partners want to support our customers in different ways, and we felt that the previous program didn’t allow us to go to that next level of depth in supporting partners through enablement and programs and demand gen, in the ways they wanted to approach our customers. Robert Dutt: So that’s the individual level, it sounds like, the sales, services, that kind of split. Is there any recognition of a split for reseller versus managed services type partner, versus folks who influence a deal but don’t necessarily take paper themselves? Laura Padilla: We have a referral track across all three. So if a partner wants to just refer a deal in, they could actually even be a sales partner and just send in the referral if they don’t want to paper it. Referral is for all three tracks; anybody can refer a deal in. In regards to MSSP or MSP partners, that would be part of the services track. We are going to start distinguishing within the services track the different types of services that partners may offer our customers as well. Robert Dutt: What’s the timeline for the rollout of the new program? Laura Padilla: Early next year. We announced it yesterday, so that gives us six months to further define it and also grandfather partners into the right level, and give partners a timeframe to be able to get into the tier that they want. There’ll be three different tiers within each track: the membership tier, the basic entry tier; kind of an advanced or specialized tier; then an elite tier. Just three different levels within each track. Robert Dutt: And what’s the gating there? Is it revenue? Is it certifications, specializations? How does one move up? Laura Padilla: It varies by the track, which is why we split them out. Sales will be heavily weighted towards sales revenue – net new logos, also just book of business, growth of the book of business. We’re also going to focus on our different product sets, as well as competency and skill set. The services track will be heavily weighted on customer deployments, specializations, go lives, CSAT and delivery – those will be the main things we’ll be looking at, and revenue and the book of business that they’re supporting in delivery as well. And the technology track, we’ll be focusing on integrations and working with things that matter to us, like Cross App Access. Robert Dutt: Have you done any modeling on where your current partners are and where that projects to? Any feeling for how the tiers are going to shake out – current tier versus future tier? Laura Padilla: We do have preliminary mappings. A good majority of our Apex partners today in our current program would probably align into our new elite level. Some might even fall into the second tier, because we do have three distinct different categories of what we’re looking at to reach the elite level. But the majority of partners that are Apex will probably be able to be grandfathered into the elite level of the new track. Robert Dutt: I imagine this has been the big project of your first seven months or so at Okta. It must feel good to get it out there in front of the partners. What’s the early feedback been from the folks you’re talking to? What have the questions been? What’s the commentary been? Laura Padilla: Partners are really excited, because they feel that we were putting every partner type into just one type of program – really, we were just looking at revenue and transactions before, which we know in the new world doesn’t really fit what all partners are doing, their specializations. We also want to be more focused on customer outcomes moving forward, versus just transactions at the beginning of the lifecycle of a customer. The new program aligns to that, because there are other metrics – minimizing churn, customer retention, customer adoption – that we’re going to care a lot more about moving forward. Bottom line is we want our customers to be happy, and we know that partners are going to be at the heart of making sure those customers are satisfied and want to stay on Okta as their key platform for identity. Robert Dutt: And that’s all captured via a CX process, I’d imagine? Laura Padilla: Yes. We’re going to have a process both in our CRM and in the portal, and we’ll be able to track those metrics and data points as well. Robert Dutt: Do you have a feel for where your channel is at in their own journey towards CX and doing that sort of thing themselves? Is this going to be a lift and shift for some, or a lot of partners saying yeah, this maps with what we’re doing? Laura Padilla: It’s a mix. Some partners already naturally have kind of a CX or CSM type group that already looks at post-sale metrics. And then we have some partners that don’t. I think it’s going to be up to us to develop a standard – really define what we expect good to look like – and then work with partners to make sure we get them there, especially partners that really want to invest with us at the elite tier. That will be a requirement for them. Robert Dutt: What are you really looking at with this program? If we were to get together at Oktane next year, you’ll have had roughly six months to formalize the program and get it out there, and it’ll have been in market for about six months at that point. What will be the metric or two that you look back at and say, yes, this means that the launch of this program was a success? Laura Padilla: A few things. One, we want Okta to be introduced to new customers – new logos are really important to us. Second is services delivery. We want more partners who are specialized and trained on Okta globally. As we think about scaling the company, this is really important, especially in international markets, where we will not have really any delivery people. Getting them trained and specialized, and having awesome CSAT – customers really happy with the experience – we’re going to look at that extremely closely. And then the third is product adoption. We think about Okta expanding to Auth0 – our governance product has become even stronger – and then AI. Those three areas are really key. We want partners to help us expand into existing accounts and also introduce those products into new accounts. Those are the three things I’d be looking at. Robert Dutt: To what degree is this program global versus fine tuned for the peculiarities or scales of local markets, especially as you’re looking internationally? Laura Padilla: It will be a global program, and we are going to have different zones for different markets. Smaller markets or emerging markets – if you look at Europe or Asia – will probably have different needs, especially around client size, and logos and go lives will be very different than the US, which is the majority of our business, and where we’re extremely strong. Growth percentage-wise, we expect our international markets to grow faster than the US, just because we aren’t as penetrated. But if you think about the depth of installations of customers, the US is definitely where we would see product adoption grow within our install base. Robert Dutt: Just wanted to make sure there was some recognition of that, because something that Canadian partners run into frequently, depending on the nature of the program, is if things are looked at through a US lens. Obviously a much smaller market and a much more SMB-heavy market. Laura Padilla: Of course, yes. And the thing is – we had our professional services leader, Joe Castro, with us, and he and I have been spending a ton of time re-imagining what services for our customers looks like with partners. His team is going to evolve into becoming more Okta PS experts and product experts to support our partners in their delivery experience. And we’ll be pushing partners to be at the forefront, prime with the customer, as we support that experience and their educational needs moving forward. Robert Dutt: That was something you guys threw out in – I want to say March-ish, but spring – the move towards partners managing more of the professional services side of things than in the past. How has that landed, and how have you seen partners react and fill the needs that created? Laura Padilla: Excited – they want more of it. That piece landed extremely well yesterday. Partners were really excited, because we already started that about a year ago. At Oktane last year, we talked about every deal over $100K moving towards a partner to deliver that deal. Now we’re doubling down even more and saying every deal – early on, we’re going to have a flag within the account to have our AEs work with a specialized services partner early in the deal cycle, so they can partner together and make sure they’re scoping the right amount of work that a customer needs to effectively deploy Okta. We’re leaning in even more, and we are asking partners to make sure we have enough partner capacity globally to fulfill those needs. We will be handing leads to those partners proactively, versus our professional services team taking that on themselves. Robert Dutt: Who have been the partners who’ve stepped up and filled those spaces? I’m curious about the balance between the big SIs and those types of guys versus the more boutique-focused, deep-expertise, smaller shops. Who’s been picking it up? Laura Padilla: We’ve had a mix of both, and both have been awesome. Large partners like Deloitte – who really was our global delivery partner of the year – have really leaned in and been super innovative, working with us on AI assessments and labs and on the governance side. They’ve been really training their teams and becoming super competent on Okta and the complete suite of products. Then we have awesome regional SIs too that have leaned in – in the US, Active Cyber, AppEvents and BeyondID are three great partners that work with us really closely that are more regional partners. Then there are our award winners yesterday in Latin America – Livok, Intergen – awesome partners in that region that know us in and out and have really dedicated their businesses to working with Okta. And in APJ – if you think about Japan, partners like NEC and CTC are really great partners, and then we have partners like Versent and Knowledge On Tap in Sydney. So we have awesome regional as well as global GSIs that have really leaned in. Robert Dutt: How have the margin models worked for that switch to professional services? Especially when you’ve got both larger and smaller partners involved, what’s the feedback been there? Laura Padilla: It’s been good. Since we’re now moving to partners priming, they will scope their own work and obviously determine their own margin for what that looks like. But if we look at a governance deal, or Auth0, or AI, partners can look at anywhere from two to three X revenue more on top of the license revenue if they’re adding on our other products. That was my big message yesterday: you really need to look at us as a platform story. You can land with MFA, SSO or core Okta products that everyone’s familiar with. But the key part of how partners are going to make money is if they add on to that, and make sure customers can really realize the full Okta platform – governance, PAM, IAM, and then AI on top of all that – so customers don’t need other disparate products to do all those things. Then the partner can really own that full customer lifecycle experience. Robert Dutt: Obviously one of the big announcements this week is the Blueprint Alliance. That’s more on the product roadmap and strategy side of things. How does that fit into go to market and partners? What does it give your partners, and how does that play out in a multi-vendor environment? Laura Padilla: The Blueprint Alliance concept started with the need to have a standards-neutral base to define what AI agent security should look like. Todd and the product leaders went with other technology companies and said we should have a consortium to be able to define this for our customers, to relieve some of this confusion. It started with the product. However, what you’re going to see is a lot of our delivery partners are going to join the Alliance as well, and that’s coming. We’re talking to our GSIs and some of our strong regional SIs as well, who would join this Alliance of technology partners to define what delivery looks like as part of that. It will go hand in hand. We will also be training our delivery partners on the Blueprint Alliance and what that standards and framework looks like, because they’ll need to know that when they do their delivery with Okta. Robert Dutt: Any timeline on when we can expect that? Laura Padilla: I don’t have that ready off the top of my head. As you saw, we just announced the white paper today with the QR code, and we’ll be working on what those training modules look like moving forward. Robert Dutt: I wanted to get into the whole AI agents thing. Especially with Gartner predicting that the average Fortune 500 will have 150,000 or more agents in a couple of years – and a little over 10 percent, I think they said, feel they have proper governance today. That speaks to a pretty big services opportunity. Are you building a specialization around that, similar to what some of your partners have done internally across the program? Laura Padilla: Yes, we are. Absolutely. We already have some trainings today for our partners, and we’re in the middle of finalizing a formal certification and specialization around that as well. That’ll be rolling out shortly for our partners to get trained and specialized on how to secure these AI agents in an effective way, according to – well, the Alliance, but also just our product roadmap and platform. That should be coming shortly. Robert Dutt: On the product side of things, from talking to a couple of partners, the idea of the kill switch has resonated large – the comment being, this is the kind of thing that customers have been looking for. Can you talk about the opportunity you see around that, and getting that fourth layer – the “what do I do, how do I respond”, as the language was used? Laura Padilla: The four questions around the Blueprint Alliance are all interrelated and necessary, but the first thing is actually knowing you have these agents. You first have to be able to identify them and then put them in a registry – so you have an agent registry. Once you know where they are and what they’re doing, then if they’re doing bad things, you can deactivate them. We had a demo today on the keynote stage showing how you could do that in a pretty simple way: your IT admin, within a console, can look at what these agents are doing once you identify them and they’re in the registry, and just quickly deactivate them if necessary. It’s pretty mind-boggling how simple we’ve made it. Robert Dutt: What do you see as the big services opportunities to wrap around the next generation of agentic security? Laura Padilla: What we’re hearing from our partners is that customers are coming to them and asking them to first build their agents for them. So they’re working with Anthropic or OpenAI, building the agents and then securing them at the same time – and that’s probably best practice, instead of having rogue employees say, “Hey, go have some fun, here’s Lovable, go ahead and get some” – and then your token usage is going nuts and all this stuff is going crazy, which is unfortunately what a lot of people are doing now. What our partners can do is come in with a plan and say, look, let’s do this the right way. I’ll build your agents for you, we can define what they should do, and I’ll secure them at the creation point as well. Then we can put them into a registry, we can manage them, and we can also define what we give them access to. That way, if they’re not doing good things, we can deactivate them. Partners are already telling me that they’re doing that now. I also think it’s a big opportunity for us to partner even deeper with the Anthropics and the OpenAIs of the world. That’s something we’re already talking to them about, because on the services side, we want the same partners who are building those agents to work with Okta as well. Robert Dutt: I was just going to say – how does that change the focus, and give even more prominence to the development side of things in the channel? Does it change who gets invited to the party – who is the ideal Okta partner going forward? Laura Padilla: Look, there are partners that are more development-forward, and they have that arm and are embracing it. I talked to one of our advisory councils; he was telling me that he was doing just exactly that. And then we have partners who maybe aren’t doing the development work, but they have a slew of customers saying, I just need your help figuring out how do I do this – how do I actually embrace AI, but in the right way? So they’re coming in a little bit later, or maybe they’ve already rolled out a bunch of agents and they’re already rogue, and they’re using Okta to identify those agents and put them into a registry, and do it that way, which is a little bit tougher. We’re seeing both sides of it – partners who do have a developer arm, and some that don’t. Robert Dutt: I think that speaks to an ecosystem opportunity for the multi-headed partner kind of arrangement. Laura Padilla: Absolutely. I do think this whole channel area is evolving even faster. You heard me talk about the $350 billion AI services market for channel partners. The partners that evolve and know how to actually code and work with the LLM providers, as well as the application providers and the security providers, and can provide that full lifecycle for their customer, are probably going to be able to capture the most aligned share of this market. And I’m seeing partners really figuring that out now and evolving their businesses. Robert Dutt: Is there a strong indicator for success there, in terms of coming at it from the coding side of things versus coming at it from the security side of things? Because either way, you kind of have to add something to round the story out. Laura Padilla: I guess I’m a little bit of an operationally minded person, so I would say a customer is smarter if they start off with: someone to build my agents and secure them at the creation stage, then manage them, and then roll it out in a systematic way – versus saying, hey, here’s tokens for Anthropic, go to town. I know a lot of companies that are doing that, and employees – some are more adept at doing that and much more curious, and some that aren’t. Then you kind of run into issues with data – we see in the news whether there’s data leaks, or rogue agents doing things they shouldn’t have been doing. So I would advise companies to start off by engaging a partner to help them do an assessment, define the right strategy, and build that out for them. Robert Dutt: How are you seeing or thinking about agent security, especially as you start introducing things like the kill switch as a managed service from your partners? What kind of opportunity do you see there, and what does that look like? Laura Padilla: I don’t know about just the kill switch piece being an opportunity from a management perspective. I think what customers are looking for is the whole thing – managing my agents in general as a managed service. There’s a huge opportunity around that. That way, they can actually present a business case: hey, maybe I need a few more agents for this specific use case, whether it’s for HR or marketing or product or whatever that may be. A service provider could create those, manage those, put them in the registry, and if needed deactivate them if they see anything bad going on. And they could probably produce dashboards around monitoring what they’re each doing, so we can get a signal right away if they’re not doing what they should be. Robert Dutt: It feels like there are some partners who are a fair ways along to that vision. But looking broadly across your channel community, how realized is it today? Laura Padilla: Very beginning. We’re not there yet. Some of these things are just ideas, or things that I’m hearing people talk about. But the good thing is there are a lot of conversations about it, and everyone has pieces that I see they’re starting. There’s just such a huge opportunity for someone to be able to really build a practice around this. Robert Dutt: Things will continue to evolve. Laura Padilla: They will. They will for all of us. Robert Dutt: Should be very interesting, needless to say. As you’ve had this time to look at the partner base, acknowledging there are different strengths and different skills across the channel – what’s the one thing where you’d like to see partners step up, do more, support more? Where do you think Okta would benefit from getting more support or help from partners than you do today? Laura Padilla: I do think there is a bigger opportunity for partners to look at us as a platform. They’ve kind of looked at it as Okta Workforce, and then Auth0 kind of separately, and not really looked at the other features and products we have. We’ve pulled data to kind of see this. That’s why my big message yesterday was: there’s so much more that you can help your customers realize when you look at us as a platform. Adding on different features, making sure they’ve moved from Okta Workforce Classic to the latest version, do they have governance and are they using it, have they embraced Auth0, and now the AI products. There’s just so much opportunity also in our existing install base, and partners at the forefront to do that – and then they’ll get services revenue when they do that as well. We have 20,000 customers, and I think a majority of them could use a lot more pieces of Okta. Robert Dutt: That’s kind of a classic channel chief problem, or want, in a multi-product or multi-platform organization – getting that cross-sell going. What do you feel unlocks that? Laura Padilla: I’m hoping the story we told them this week – the incentives we’re rolling out, more enablement, saying hey, we’re now going to look for you to do this delivery, we’re not going to take any of this in house, we reorganized our team to support this motion, all of the investments we’ve made, and the new program rewarding that as well – I hope it gives them a light bulb moment to go, oh wow, now is the time for me to really look at this further, in a different way than I’ve looked at the Okta business in the past. Robert Dutt: Can you elaborate a bit on how the rewards and incentives change with the partner program, and specifically how they support that cross-selling motion? Laura Padilla: We talked yesterday about a new logo incentive – customers that bring in new logos, and also migrations from a different vendor to us, will be rewarded for that; we have an incentive around that. Then we’re going to lean in with deployment incentives as well – we’ll be looking at partners who are able to deliver services and deploy and go live with certain products and certain customers, and rewarding that behavior as well. We’re also going to be giving leads to partners that are specialized even more so than we have in the past – partners that are specialized with certain product and delivery specializations will be actively given leads, and our AEs are now required to bring in a specialized services partner at an earlier stage in the deal cycle. That is now embedded within our CRM. There are a ton of opportunities for partners to really take advantage of now that weren’t there before. Robert Dutt: Other than getting the program finalized and out the door, what’s on your list? What are your priorities for the back half of 2026 and into 2027? Laura Padilla: I spent my first seven months or so here really evaluating the business, spending time with my leadership – John, the CRO, and Todd and Eric and everyone – understanding where the company is going, what our company strategy is, how partners can really help amplify that. We took a ton of feedback from partners too, and that was the result of where we came up with the program. So now that I feel that structure is there – there’s still a lot of work to get it out the door – what I want to spend the second half of this year on is now with the partners, getting them to really lean in and understand why this is important, why it’s different, why there’s never been a better time to be an Okta partner than now, and really go all in. I talked about that in my presentation. So the second half will be spending more time with the partners to make sure they understand all the investments we’re making. Robert Dutt: Whether it’s something we’ve touched on or otherwise, my last question for you: what’s the biggest untapped or under-realized opportunity for Okta partners now? The kind of thing that maybe isn’t burning down the world today, but you’d bet that if we’re coming back and talking next year at Oktane, it’s going to be a big opportunity. Laura Padilla: I really think there’s a huge opportunity in governance for us. That isn’t an area that we’ve pushed on too much as a company – there are other competitors, much smaller than us, that have pushed harder in this area. We think that’s a huge opportunity for our partners: to lean into existing customers, or to migrate from those siloed, one-off companies where customers have bought those products. Those products aren’t really platforms; they’re just kind of one-off solutions. We can do much better with what Okta is providing. So governance is a huge opportunity, and we’re going to be spending a lot more time with our partners on training and specialization around that. And then Auth0, and AI. Those three are the things we’re talking a lot to our partners about. Robert Dutt: All right. A lot going on. I appreciate you taking the time to explain the new program and where things are going. Laura Padilla: It’s been great spending time with you. Thank you so much. Robert Dutt: There you have it – Laura Padilla, head of partners at Okta. Apex partners mostly map to elite, but some will land in the middle tier, and the tracks let you opt into the one that fits your business rather than the one Okta’s revenue spreadsheet favors. Two: the services priming move is now program-wide. If you have delivery capability on identity, the flag Okta’s AEs are required to pull early in the deal cycle is your pipeline. And three: she flagged governance as the biggest under-realized opportunity in the portfolio, with an AI agent security specialization coming. Early positioning there looks like the smart money. The enemy has been trying desperately to intimidate you. Intimidation through means of fear, through means of overwhelm, through means of anxiety, even through thoughts of not wanting the very things God has been revealing to you. Check yourself – how successful have his ploys of intimidation been? Have you been quietly giving up? Have you been gradually pulling away? Have you been shrinking, fading, losing ground? Sis, what you have to understand is the enemy has only fear tactics and intimidation against you. His threats against you are powerless when you’re covered in the blood of Jesus. 1 John 5:18 tells us that we are held securely by God’s Son and “the evil one cannot touch us”. Do you hear that – HE CAN’T TOUCH YOU. If you have surrendered your life to Jesus you are not only saved by Jesus, but you’re also protected by Him. My dog Tank is a big boy with a fierce bark. In his prime, he was 130 pounds, one of the biggest yellow labs you will ever see. He decides to bark on the very rare occasion when the UPS man seems threatening. And when he does, you notice. His bark sounds furious. But there’s no bite behind his bark. He’s nothing but slobbers and tail wags. He’s anything but a guard dog. A little yappy chihuahua will put him in the corner every time. Sometimes it’s as if we’re walking through this life terrified of a bark that simply can’t bite us. Girl, listen to me – THE EVIL ONE CANNOT TOUCH YOU. We’re so quickly to give the devil credit for the attacks in life, but most often he’s not even the source. Is there a spiritual battle happening all around us? Absolutely! Are we protected? NO DOUBT! As a sold-out follower of Jesus, you are a girl with Heaven on her side. Angels are in charge all around you. God has good plans for your life that cannot be cancelled. Every moment of your life is held in the mighty hands of your Creator. Why in the world would you be intimidated by an already defeated enemy? Why would you play little with your life? Why would you dismiss your God-breathed dreams and desires because the enemy is barking? LET HIM BARK. Let him hate that you are no longer paralyzed in fear. Let him shake when your knees hit the floor each morning and you’re infused with the power of the Holy Spirit. Let him know that Hell lost another one. Show him you’re on a mission to rob Hell and make Heaven crowded! Paul writes in Philippians 1:28, “Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself.” DON’T BE INTIMIDATED. And Scripture tells us exactly what to do when the enemy comes at us with intimidation. James 4:7, “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Notice the order: Submit to God, resist the devil. We don’t defeat the enemy by becoming obsessed with the enemy. We don’t spend all day looking for demons behind every difficult circumstance. We don’t have to live on high alert, wondering where the next attack is coming from. We fix our eyes on Jesus, submit ourselves to God, and when the enemy comes with lies, fear, temptation, accusation, or intimidation, we resist. How do you resist? You refuse to agree with the lie. When he says, “You can’t do this,” you remember, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” When he says, “You’re alone,” you remember, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” When he says, “You should be afraid,” you remember that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. You fight the lie with the truth. That’s why knowing God’s Word matters so much. Jesus Himself responded to the enemy’s temptation with Scripture. He didn’t negotiate with Satan. He didn’t entertain the lie. He answered with the truth of God’s Word: “It is written.” Girl, you need some “It is written” in your life! When fear comes, you need to know what God has already said. When anxiety starts shouting, you need truth louder than the thoughts in your head. When intimidation tells you to back down, you need the Word of God reminding you who you are, whose you are, and who is with you. Ephesians 6:10–11 says, “Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.” Did you catch that? TAKE YOUR STAND. The goal isn’t that you never experience fear. The goal is that fear doesn’t get to move you. You may feel intimidated and still stand. You may feel anxious and still obey. You may feel overwhelmed and still take the next step. You may hear the bark and still keep walking. That’s courage—not the absence of fear, but refusing to let fear become your master. Your job isn’t to defeat Satan. Jesus has already defeated him. Your job is to remain surrendered to Jesus, stand firm in truth, resist the lies, and keep moving forward in obedience. That’s what intimidation cannot stand against: a woman who knows who she is, knows whose she is, knows what God has said, and refuses to back down. When you fear the enemy you give him hope and confidence in his schemes against you. If he sees his fear tactics against you are successful, he’ll double down to drag you into his darkness and keep you there. He’ll send his demons to attack your mind and discourage your heart. Is that what he’s been doing to you? Girl, are you going to let him have access to your heart and mind like that? But let me tell you what happens when you’re NOT INTIMIDATED by him – he withdraws in defeat. Unlike God, Satan is limited. He does not hold all power. He cannot be everywhere at once. He cannot move heaven and earth. He is not unlimited. Therefore, he continually seeks the weak spot and attacks where his efforts are most effective. He zeros in on what is working. And honey, if his attacks haven’t been intimidating you, then he won’t waste his time continuing. Today, you let the enemy of your soul know you will not live in fear of him. Shut down his fear tactics. Refuse his invitation to overwhelm. Stiff arm his offer of anxious thoughts. Deny his suggestions of no longer wanting everything God has for you. Don’t give him the satisfaction of intimidation. Enemy, you’re wasting your time trying to keep me awake in worry. When my alarm rings, I’m still hitting my knees in prayer. I’m still showing up. I’m still giving God my best. That’s how you defeat him! Satan, the anxious thoughts you try to offer me are straight up denied. You’re wasting your time with the attack on my mind. I know the truth, I stand in the truth, I speak the truth. You are powerless against God and I’m under His divine protection. When spiritual enemies cannot intimidate you, they’ve lost all weapons because all they had was fear and intimidation. Now, you know how to disarm the enemy. Stop listening to him. Stop being influenced by him. Stop believing him. You don’t have to argue with him. You don’t have to fight him in your own strength. You simply have to stand. Stand in truth. Stand in faith. Stand in the authority Jesus has given you. Stand your ground and keep moving forward. Because here’s what intimidation is trying to do: it’s trying to make you smaller than your calling. It’s trying to convince you that the dream God whispered to you is too big, the assignment is too hard, the risk is too great, the people won’t understand, and you’re not capable of doing what God is asking you to do. But God didn’t call you to live a small, safe, fear-controlled life. So get back up, girl. Take back the ground you’ve surrendered. Start praying again. Start dreaming with God again. Start showing up again. Start saying YES to the things God has been putting on your heart. You don’t have to know exactly how it’s all going to work. You just have to be willing to take the next step. The enemy can bark, but he cannot cancel what God has ordained. He can make noise, but he cannot have the final word. He can threaten, but he cannot separate you from the God who holds you. So let him bark. You keep walking. Let him make noise. You keep obeying. Let him try to intimidate you. You keep becoming everything God created you to be. Because, Sis, you are not walking into your future alone. You are walking with Jesus. And when Jesus is with you, fear doesn’t get to decide where you go. The enemy’s bark is not your stop sign. It’s your reminder to keep moving forward. DON’T BE INTIMIDATED. Don’t shrink. Don’t retreat. Don’t quit. Stand up. Stand firm. And LIVE BIG. Something is happening within you as you surrender your life to God and grow more in Jesus – You are becoming so incredibly attractive. You have a certain glow about you. You stand out. There’s something magnetizing about you. There’s a deep joy within you and it just seeps out of your pours. Others are seeing it! Something supernatural happens when your life is lived in close relationship with God. You can’t explain it and you can’t duplicate it in any other way. Let me tell you a story … At our Redwood Forest Retreat this past weekend, there was a lady named Kayla. Kayla is a sold-out, bold and courageous follower of Jesus. She knows exactly what Jesus saved her from and she lives every moment of her life in loud praise of him for that rescue and redemption. Life hasn’t been easy for her, but God has done a radical work of redemption in her. Let me tell you, you don’t spend time with Kayla and walk away the same. The Holy Spirit she carries in her truly does shift the atmosphere. On the final morning of our retreat, everyone except for Kayla went down to the shore for a time or worship, cold plunge and baptisms. Kayla said the Holy Spirit had prompted her to stay behind in the retreat house to spend alone time with him. That’s rare for her because Kayla has 10 kids and is actively involved in a street ministry in Sacramento. Sitting with God in this glorious cottage in the redwoods was perfection for her. While we were all floating around in freezing cold water allowing God to breath into us, Kayla was singing and praising back at the retreat house. Without any of us knowing, she was specifically praying to be a Christ-like-fragrance. Hmmmm, have you ever prayed that? Well, me neither! 2 Corinthians 2:15, “Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God.” We returned to the retreat house within an hour to find the praise music blasting. And one of our retreat girls, Janiel, caught a whiff of the most beautiful perfume. It was coming from Kayla. In fact, the fragrance was so unique and beautiful, Janiel turned to Kayla’s sister and asked if she knew what perfume Kayla was wearing. Later we found out about her prayer that morning to be a Christ-like-fragrance. How wild is that? The Holy Spirit’s work in you makes you a beautiful fragrance!!!!!! Now, understand why. Why does a life surrendered to Jesus and lived in close relationship with him make you stand out with a glow? Why does it change your very fragrance? Well, this isn’t about you. This isn’t about you being noticed. This isn’t about you looking better. This isn’t about anyone admiring you. Trust me, this isn’t about you smelling good. This is about JESUS! Philippians 1:11 MSG, “Live a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.” There it is – the Holy Spirit’s work in us with the results of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control all growing in us – this makes Jesus Christ ATTRACTIVE! Our surrendered lives make Jesus look good to others! And yes, that makes us stand out, that makes people see us different, that can even make us smell different – to the point that they ask, “What’s up with her, what does she have, and how do I get some?” But we have a unique way of making everything about us. We forget this isn’t about YOU being attractive – this is about JESUS BEING ATTRACTIVE IN YOU! Come back to that, Sis. You don’t need anyone to give you glory or praise. If that’s what you’re seeking, this has gotten twisted. And really, that happens so easily – I know it got really twisted for me for a really long time. God has been so patient with me. His grace over me has been undeserved. He humbled me and continues to humble me so I untwist this – it was never about me – it was always about Jesus. MAKE JESUS ATTRACTIVE! Then what happens as we make Jesus attractive with the way we live our lives? Go back to the rest of that scripture – We get “everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.” I sat back and noticed exactly how this happens while at retreat. We sat around a firepit on opening night and each shared what God is doing in our lives right now. Many had praises of how God has worked things out for them. Some had stories of how God was still carrying them through a reality they would have never chosen, yet they could see his fingerprints in the details. With each shared story we could see God’s glory and participate in his praise. While our stories were different, we could relate to God’s faithfulness on our own journey and apply his promises to our own lives. Every time someone shared a piece of their story, we all got involved in the glory and praise of God! On a very practical level, that’s how it happens! And let me tell you, Jesus was so attractive in our circle around that firepit! The fragrance rising up was glorious! So, Sis, this is what I want you to remember: You don’t have to try to be attractive. You just have to stay close to Jesus. Stay surrendered. Stay in His Word. Stay in His presence. Let the Holy Spirit keep doing His beautiful, sometimes uncomfortable, always transformational work inside of you. Because when you spend enough time with Jesus, He starts showing up on you. His love starts coming out of your mouth. His joy starts showing up in your face. His peace starts changing the way you respond. His kindness starts changing the way you treat people. His goodness starts changing the way you live. His self-control starts changing what you say yes and no to. And suddenly, without trying to be impressive, you become a living invitation to Jesus. People see something different. They feel something different. They may not even know what it is at first, but they notice. They wonder. They ask. “What’s different about you?” “How are you so peaceful?” “How did you get through that?” “Why aren’t you bitter?” “What do you have that I don’t have?” And that’s your moment. It’s not me. It’s Jesus. That’s the fragrance. That’s the glow. That’s the attraction. Not so people will notice you, but so they will notice Him. Your life becomes a little window through which someone else gets a glimpse of Jesus. Your story gives someone else courage. Your peace gives someone else hope. Your praise reminds someone else that God is still faithful. Your surrendered heart becomes an invitation for someone else to know the One who changed you. All around you, Jesus is calling people to him, and he’s using you as the reflection of his love and life-changing power. Those whom he is calling to him will be attracted. Those who are not being called, well – they won’t like you at all. You need to know that so you’re not discouraged. After Paul tells us about being a sweet perfume and Christ-like-fragrance rising up to God, he prepares us for the 2 very different ways that is received in this world. 2 Corinthians 2: 15-16, “BUT this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing. To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume.” Remember this – it’s not up to you who is invited into that life-saving relationship with Jesus. This isn’t about you. To those Jesus is inviting, you will help attract them to him. To those who are not, you will be repulsive. You won’t be liked. They will not be receptive to you. Can you be okay with that? Can you continue to show up has God’s sweet perfume in this world, even when some reject you, even while some ridicule you, even while some are hateful towards you? Or will you decide you’re too fragile for the criticism of a few so you stop showing up for the ones who are ready to respond to Jesus? I’m so grateful Jesus didn’t sit out his mission because of the ones who would ridicule him. I’m so grateful he didn’t cancel his coming because some would be ugly. He came anyway. He taught anyway. He loved anyway. And he gave his life anyway. Now he asks us to do the same. Stop being detoured by those who don’t like this Jesus in you. Stop playing little and hiding your fragrance and your glow because they don’t receive it well. It’s not about you – this is about Jesus! And there are people around you who desperately need it! Make Jesus attractive. Not with your perfection. Not with your performance. Not by pretending you’ve got it all together. Just live so close to Jesus that He can’t help but rub off on you. And then walk into the room. Carry His fragrance. Shift the atmosphere. And let everybody around you get involved in the glory and praise of God. Because the most beautiful thing about you should never be you. It should be Jesus. Wherever you are, wherever you live, wherever you work, imagine how the atmosphere would shift if Jesus walked into the room. The energy, the conversations, the focus would be completely altered by his presence. There would be no complaining, no moping, no worry or fear, no gossip, no drama – everyone would be absolutely mesmerized by the presence of Jesus in the room. Now, understand this … YOU CARRY HIS PRESENCE! That’s what the Holy Spirit is. God, the Father – and Jesus, the son, IN YOU. As a follower of Jesus, you become a vessel for the Spirit of God, and you literally carry him into every room you enter. So, Sis, let’s be real clear – THE ATMOSPHERE SHOULD SHIFT WHEN YOU WALK IN!!!! The conversations shouldn’t be the same when you enter. Worry and fear should be banished. Hope and joy should fill the room. When the Spirit of God is present, there should be an energy, a peace, a hope that changes what happens next. Not because you walked in with all the answers, but because Jesus walked in with you. You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room. You don’t have to preach a sermon. You don’t have to fix everybody’s problems. You simply need to carry Jesus well. Your presence should bring peace where there is panic. Hope where there is heaviness. Kindness where there is criticism. Joy where there is complaining. Grace where there is judgment. Love where there is division. Sis, you are an atmosphere shifter. Not because you change people, but because God does. Not because you’re the fixer, but because you carry the fixer!!!!! If the atmosphere is not shifting when you walk in the room, it could be because you’re not declaring that power. It could be because you’re forgetting what you carry within you. It could be because you’re settling for what everyone else is doing and playing little. When your home is filled with chaos, when the office is nothing but division and tension, when the conversations are negative and hurtful, remember this – YOU ARE CARRYING THE PRESENCE OF GOD WITHIN YOU, AND THAT PRESENCE HAS THE POWER TO SHIFT THE ATMOSPHERE! Scripture tells us there are two realms – there is the physical realm we see and the invisible spiritual realm. You may not see the spiritual realm, but it is real. What is happening in the unseen is just as real as what is happening physically. The spiritual real is continually affecting your life. The atmosphere of every room you’re in is being shaped by the spiritual realm. You know this – you’ve experienced it. Sometimes there’s just a dark feeling. A weighted heaviness in the room. A tension. I’ve even been in some areas where the entire city has a dark oppression and you can feel it. I’ve walked into rooms and felt that total ‘ick’ feeling. That’s a spiritual atmosphere being created in the unseen. There’s something happening. The spiritual atmosphere has the power to shape our lives – to confuse or inspire, to lift up or suppress, to bring happiness or sadness, to overwhelm or empower. The difference is in who is ruling the atmosphere in that given place. Let’s look at the contrast. Romans 14:17 tells us the Kingdom of God is “goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” So this means when the Holy Spirit is in charge of your home or your office or the circle you sit in, there will be goodness and peace and joy. How? BECAUSE WE CARRY IT WITH US! We speak it. We share it. We shift the atmosphere with his Spirit! But, it’s up to us to remember what we have in us. If we’re not prayerfully aware of the Spirit we carry, then we may be allowing a radically different power to rule the room. Jesus tells us in John 10:10 that our enemy the devil has come to “kill, steal and destroy.” When his dark forces are at work, you can feel it. The conversations are destructive. The energy is negative. Yeah – you want to know why? Because the presence in the room is there to kill our joy, steal our peace, and destroy our hope. And sadly, sometimes we just allow that! We allow it in our homes. We allow it in our work place. We allow it in our car. We allow it in our circles. HOW ABOUT WE STOP ALLOWING IT AND SHIFT THE ATMOSPHERE. Girl, the conversations shouldn’t be the same when you walk in the room. Why? Because you’re walking in with the power of God in you. The power to heal, the power to shift, the power to change, the power to restore, the power to create, the power to revive … That power now lives within you. So yes, the conversations should be different. Yes, the energy should be different. Yes, the atmosphere should shift. If it’s not, it’s because you’re forgetting what you have inside of you. Jesus said in Luke 10:19, “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy.” Today, there’s a battle happening all around you. You may not see it, but you can probably feel it. It’s spiritual. Two spiritual forces at war. The battle of good and evil. The battle of light and darkness. Ultimately, this is a war over the presence of God – who will rule the atmosphere here. Will it be the Holy Spirit – or will it be something else? Well girl, you don’t have to depend on anyone else to determine that – you have the authority in prayer!!!!! You can prayerfully evict every presence of evil and darkness. Every demon sent from hell to discourage, depress, disrupt, overwhelm, scare, or paralyze – cast them out in the name of Jesus. Speak up – bring Jesus into the room! Why in the world would a girl like you, carrying the power of God in the Holy Spirit, ever play little? Why would you watch the chaos and not call on God to stop it. Why would you sit in that conversation and not shift it? You don’t have to yell. You don’t have to argue. You don’t have to prove a point. You don’t have to become the spiritual police of every room you enter. You just need to bring Jesus into the room. Pray. Speak life. Speak truth. Change the subject. Refuse to participate in gossip. Encourage the person who is struggling. Bring peace into the conflict. Remind someone of what is true. Love the person nobody else is loving. And sometimes, you won’t even have to say a word. The way you carry yourself will preach. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4:6–7: “God has made his light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.” THIS IS YOU, SIS. A jar of clay carrying a treasure. You are ordinary. You are imperfect. You don’t have all the answers. You don’t have to be the strongest person in the room. But you are carrying something extraordinary. You are carrying the presence of God. So don’t underestimate what happens when you walk into a room surrendered to Jesus. Don’t underestimate what happens when you pray before you speak. Don’t underestimate what happens when you choose peace instead of panic. Don’t underestimate what happens when you answer anger with grace. Don’t underestimate what happens when you refuse to join the gossip. Don’t underestimate what happens when you bring hope into a hopeless conversation. Don’t underestimate what happens when you walk into darkness carrying LIGHT. Because you don’t have to become the atmosphere. You get to change it. The next time you walk into a room, don’t just walk in. Bring Jesus with you. Walk in carrying peace. Walk in carrying hope. Walk in carrying joy. Walk in carrying truth. Walk in carrying love. Walk in carrying the very presence of God. And then watch what happens. SHIFT THE ATMOSPHERE. Jesus put it this way: “Behold I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19 NKJV). This means that we don't have to submit to our negative circumstances and environment, we can change the atmosphere wherever we go by walking in our God-given dominion. Sis, if you overthink and overanalyze every choice — what do I eat next, when can I eat, is this the right thing to eat?  — and you wonder if you'll ever escape the nonsense, this episode is for you. Today I'm sharing one of my very favorite recovery tools for the woman stuck in analysis paralysis, self-sabotage, and perfectionism. Because here's the thing — waiting to feel 100% certain before you act is exactly what's keeping you stuck. And the eating disorder loves it that way. Let me show you a better way to decide. First, a word on purpose Before I get into the tool, I have to share the devotional that lit a fire in me this morning: purpose is more about realignment than achievement. You are a workmanship, created in His image and for His purpose — and your identity is found in your design, not in your passions or your resume. How you see yourself will determine what you see for yourself. So often it's your past — the ups and the downs — that blocks you from believing your potential. And that's directly linked to today's tool, because when you don't believe something is for you, you block your own ability to act on it. The tool: you don't need 100% — just 51% Here's the whole thing, and it's beautifully simple: you never need to be 100% sure about a decision. You just need to be 51% sure — slightly more convinced it's the right choice than not. I call it a "rule," but honestly, sis? It's the opposite of a rule. You're a perfectionist drowning in food rules and shoulds already — this is the one that sets you free from needing to be perfectly certain. Think of it as permission. Because total certainty is rare, and waiting to feel fully confident is what's keeping you from living. The eating disorder demands 100% (hello, Queen of Perfection) — and that demand creates paralysis. Recovery doesn't require perfect confidence. It just requires the next step. And God can't bless the actions you don't take. How to apply it — 3 steps 1. Acknowledge the uncertainty. Feeling uncertain is normal — you're about to do something brave, and brave is scary. Not knowing what to eat next or what your body needs doesn't make you a failure. You don't need all the answers. The assignment is just to go. 2. Listen to your recovery voice. Ask: What would my recovered self do? What aligns with where I'm headed? What would my support circle tell me to do? (And if you don't have a strong circle yet — sis, you can't do this alone. Come find one.) I tell my clients: if you won't grant yourself permission, take mine. 3. Make the 51% choice now. No delaying. If your recovery voice is even slightly louder than the eating disorder voice, that's enough. Lean in. Trust that 51% sure is enough to move. What 51% looks like in real life The snack: You're not 100% ready, but you're 51% convinced it supports your health. That's enough. What's in the pantry? Let's go. Getting support: You've thought about coaching off and on — maybe she could help me. If you're leaning toward even the idea, that's 51%. That's enough to take action. The dinner out: You don't know if you're ready for the Mexican restaurant with friends — but a small part of you knows isolation won't serve your recovery. That small part is the 51%. That's enough to say yes. Why it works: you're building evidence Every 51% decision in favor of your recovery does something powerful — you build evidence in your brain that you can trust yourself. Your true voice gets louder. The eating disorder voice gets quieter, because you're no longer taking its orders. You create real momentum for healing (not a Band-Aid on a bullet hole), and you practice flexibility over perfectionism. You get to be Queen Flexibility. Queen Spontaneity. You do not have to be Queen Perfection. And when the percentages feel really close and you still aren't sure? Celebrate making the decision at all — focus on the process of deciding, not the result. Treat each choice as an experiment and a learning opportunity. Recovery isn't about being 100%. It's about being brave enough to choose you — one 51% decision at a time. When a decision comes up, ask: Am I 51% convinced this supports the direction I want to live? Am I 51% convinced this supports my recovery? If yes — step forward. Messy, sloppy, "I don't know" action all counts. The point is to move. Ready for a circle that helps you decide? Today's message is simple, and it's straight from my heart. So many of us are waiting — waiting to feel ready, waiting to be recovered, waiting to be smaller or better or "fixed" — before we let ourselves actually live. But your life is happening right now, whether you give yourself permission or not. And I don't want you to miss it. This one's for you if you're stuck in the messy middle, four steps forward and two steps back, wondering when your real life gets to start. The lie that keeps you waiting There's a part of you with dreams — the part that knows you were meant for so much more than days consumed by food and body thoughts. The part that wants to show up fully, chase what's on your heart, laugh without calculating calories. And then there's the other voice: "Not yet. Not until you're smaller. Not until you've got this eating thing figured out. Not until you've recovered." Sis, that voice is keeping you alone on your own island. One of my clients said it perfectly: "I keep thinking I need to wait until I'm recovered enough to start living — but I'm realizing that waiting for a perfect future is just another way the eating disorder is controlling me." That was her breakthrough. It can be yours too. Recovery isn't the waiting room for your life — it IS the living Here's the truth: recovering is the process of learning to live. It's not something you do and then start your life. It's the journey itself. And your eating disorder wants you to wait — because as long as you're waiting, you keep believing you need to be fixed, worthy, or "better" before you're allowed to take up space, want things, or pursue your dreams. But you don't need permission, sis. Not for food, not for rest, not for growth, not for a new hobby. This is your life. Because here's what's real: life doesn't pause while you figure out your relationship with food. Your dreams don't go on hold. Your purpose doesn't wait. How much more time do you want to give away? 3 ways to start making life happen (instead of waiting for it) 1. Name one dream you've put on hold. Just one. The thing you keep saying you'll do when you're better, when you have more energy, when the kids are older. Maybe it's applying for a job, taking a dance class, calling a friend you've been avoiding, forgiving someone, going on a date with your husband — or getting honest and reaching out for support. Write it down. Don't analyze it, don't judge it. Just name it. 2. Take the smallest possible step. Not the biggest step. Not the perfect step. The smallest. If it's the job, look at one posting. If it's the dance class, just find the studio's website (and nourish yourself with a good meal before you go). The eating disorder says it's all or nothing — but recovery, and life, are built on tiny, imperfect actions taken consistently. 3. Remind yourself: you are living your recovery right now. This mindset shift changes everything. Instead of "I'm waiting to recover," flip it to "I am living my recovery now. I'm giving myself permission to heal now." Every time you choose connection over isolation, pursue something that lights you up instead of restricting, or show up imperfectly — that is recovery. That's life. The honest part I won't lie to you — this isn't linear or easy. Some days you'll feel like you're moving backward. Some days you'll still hate your body, the thoughts will still be there, maybe even louder. But you don't have to wait until those days are gone to start living in them. Struggling doesn't mean you're doing it wrong — it means you're human, and it means you're about to do something brave. Your eating disorder is not who you are. She doesn't get the whole story of your life — she's not even the most interesting part of it. But you'll never know what the rest of your story looks like if you keep waiting for permission to write it. A few lines from the episode "You are not broken. You are not behind. You are not alone." Luke 13: 6-9, “Then Jesus told this story: ‘A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed. Finally, he said to his gardener, ‘I’ve waited three years, and there hasn’t been a single fig! Cut it down. It’s just taking up space in the garden.’ The gardener answered, ‘Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer. If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down.'” This is a story about grace. But this is also a story about final chances. My friend, don’t waste God’s grace – you do have a role in this. Your role is fruit. God expects fruit. Just as a fig tree is expected to produce figs, as daughters of a good good Father, we are expected to grow good things in our lives. As girls who have received mercy, we are expected to be merciful. As girls who have been blessed, we are expected to become a blessing. Fruit is evidence of who you are and what you carry. Who you are is a girl who has been chosen and set apart by God. As a follower of Jesus, what you carry is the Holy Spirit. Yes, the same power that created the entire universe now lives within you, prompting you and willing you to do good things. His Spirit inside of us naturally grows good fruit in our lives called the fruits of the Holy Spirit: Peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. If these fruits are not growing in your life, there’s a problem. Just as it would be a problem for a fig tree not to grow figs, there’s a problem when you’re not growing in these good things. So, what’s the problem here? God wants to give you time to help you grow. The owner is right to expect fruit. The whole purpose of having an orchard or a vineyard is for the fruit. He’s not ridiculous or demanding – he’s righteous. And he’ even patient. Notice Jesus tells the story and says the owner had waited three years, but there hadn’t been a single fig grow on this tree. Three years. Three full seasons with nothing growing. The owner had been patient, but there was still no fruit. And the owner notices. Think of the owner as God – think of that fig tree as you. God sees you. He knows precisely where you are – afterall honey, he planted you. He is the one who gave you life. He chose you. And it was all for a purpose. You are here in his garden for the purpose of growing and producing goodness. Peace should be growing in your life. Patience should be multiplying. Kindness should be increasing. Faithfulness should be seen in you. Gentleness should be covering you. And self-control should be growing more and more. But if you’re not – God is asking why? He’s been watching and waiting. Graciously giving you more time. Three years, Jesus says. Three full seasons with nothing growing. Why is that? So, the gardener gets involved personally. Who is this gardener? Think of him as Jesus. Jesus takes a personal interest in you. He says, “Give her another chance. I’ll give her special attention.” Imagine that for a moment – Jesus is personally involved in caring for you so that you grow and produce goodness in your life. Jesus interceeds for us – he speaks to the Father for us. He asks for more time to be allotted for us. Looking back, I see years I’ve wasted. Years I was self-absorbed in selfish pursuits and producing a whole lot of nothing good in my life. Years when my priorities were so out of alignment that the Holy Spirit had no space to grow anything in me. And yet, Jesus personally attended to me. He patiently worked with me. He gave me chance after chance, until finally I began to grow as I was created to. Can you see how patient God has been with you? Can you see the work Jesus has done for you personally? Can you see the seasons of stupidity Jesus has walked through with you, never giving up? Imagine the times Jesus must have interceeded for you – “Father, I know she doesn’t look like it right now, but with a little more time and care, she’s going to grow. Her fruit is coming. Let me work with her.” You and I have been covered in grace and mercy. For all the times we didn’t get it right, we were given another chance. For all the times we didn’t show up the way we were supposed to, we were given grace. For all the times we were trying to be something we were never created to be, we were gently reminded who we really are. But remember this, mercy doesn’t eliminate accountability. The gardener asks for more time for this struggling tree, but with time the tree is still expected to produce fruit. The tree isn’t offered this precious space forever. The gardener offers his extra effort, his personal care, his direct involvement – but it is limited. The final chance will come and then there will be accountability. But here’s where this gets real, girl what are you doing with your extra year? What are you doing with the grace you’ve been given? What are you doing with the second chances, the third chances, the fourth chances? What are you doing with all the times Jesus has stepped in and said, “Give her a little more time. Let Me work on her”? Don’t waste the grace. Don’t mistake God’s patience for permission to stay the same. If Jesus is tending to you, let Him tend to you. If He’s digging around some hard places in your heart, let Him dig. If He’s exposing something that needs to go, don’t cover it back up. If He’s pointing out an attitude, a habit, a wound, an offense, a selfish desire, or an area where you’ve been stubbornly doing things your own way – don’t argue with the Gardener. He really does know what’s good for you. Let Him work. Because here’s the thing about a gardener: he doesn’t just stare at the tree and hope it gets better. He gets his hands dirty. He digs around the roots. He breaks up the hard soil. He cuts away what is dead. He creates the conditions for life. And he adds fertilizer. Yes fertilizer. Do you know what fertilizer is? I grew up on a farm and I can tell you precisely what fertilizer is – it’s crap. Legit crap. When added to a field, the crops grow bigger, faster, stronger, and they produce more. Look around, Sis – are you dealing with some crap right now? Could it be fertilizer to help you grow? Could this be the gardener stepping in with his personal care to create an environment where you produce goodness? It’s so easy for us to assume the things that really stink in our life are punishment – but maybe they’re fertilizer. Looking back, I see nothing helped me grow more than those hard times. The times when we didn’t know how we were going to pay rent. The times when we had no answers, only prayer. The times when if God didn’t bring us through, we weren’t getting through. Those were some stinky, honestly pretty crappy times – but wow, did I ever grow. Okay, Jesus, was that my fertilizer? Was that you being patient with me? Was that actually helping me, not punishing me? And pruning – oh don’t even get me started. I bet he’s cut some things out of your life too, hasn’t he? Sometimes the uncomfortable thing He’s asking you to surrender is actually the very thing keeping you from becoming fruitful. Sometimes He has to disturb your comfortable little life so He can get down to the roots. Sometimes He has to expose what you’ve been hiding because He loves you too much to let it keep producing nothing. Don’t resist the Gardener. He’s not trying to hurt you. He’s trying to make you fruitful. And notice something else: the gardener doesn’t say, “Give her another year and I’ll make her look like a fig tree.” He says, essentially, I’ll give her what she needs to become what she was created to be. That’s the goal. God isn’t asking you to become someone else. He’s not asking you to manufacture a fake version of yourself that looks spiritual on the outside. He’s asking you to become the woman He created you to be—and to allow His Spirit to produce what only He can produce in you. You don’t have to force fruit. Let Jesus do his work in you. Let Him change the way you think. Let Him soften your heart. Let Him heal what has been wounded. Let Him confront what has been selfish. Let Him strengthen what has been weak. Let Him teach you patience when you’d rather lose your mind. Let Him grow kindness when somebody is being really, really annoying. Let Him develop self-control when everything in you wants to spin out of control. So maybe today you need to stop and ask the Gardener a question: “Jesus, what’s keeping me from being fruitful?” Not, “What’s wrong with everybody else?” Not, “Why is he so annoying?” Not, “Why can’t they just get their act together?” Nope. Start with you. “Jesus, what’s happening in my heart?” “Where have I become hard?” “Where am I resisting You?” “What needs to be dug up?” “What needs to be cut away?” “What are You trying to grow in me?” How do you want to use this fertilizer? And then—this is important—let Him answer. Because the beautiful thing about this parable is that the tree isn’t abandoned. The Gardener is still there. He’s still working. He’s still giving grace. He’s still tending. He’s still believing that something good can grow. But don’t waste the season. There is a point when the extra year is over. There is a point when grace gives way to accountability. There is a point when the question is no longer, “Will she produce fruit?” but “What did she do with everything she was given?” Girl, you have been given so much. You have been given grace upon grace. Mercy upon mercy. Another chance upon another chance. You have been planted intentionally, loved deeply, chosen completely, and given the very Spirit of God to live inside you. Don’t just take up space in the garden. Grow. Not so you can earn your place in His garden. You already belong there. Bear fruit because you are His girl. Bear fruit because you’ve been loved. Bear fruit because you’ve been forgiven. Bear fruit because you’ve been given another chance. Bear fruit because the Gardener didn’t give up on you. Sis, today I'm getting right to the good stuff — the number one pitfall that keeps so many women trapped in disordered eating for far too long: not asking for help. For the longest time in my journey, I sat in denial. I don't need help. No one could help me. I'm fine — I'm functioning. That's a lie, and today I'm lovingly calling you out on it, because you are more than a conqueror, you are an overcomer, and it is time to step into that truth. If you've ever told yourself "I'm not sick enough," this episode is for you. The lie underneath "I'm fine" Functioning is not the same as free. You can be eating, holding your life together, "fine" on the outside — and still be trapped in the cycle. Telling yourself you're not sick enough isn't the truth; it's the disorder keeping you exactly where it wants you. Here's my tough-love truth: if you're not okay asking for help, your why isn't big enough yet — and I say that only because I want freedom for you that badly. It's not enough to hope for a healthier future. It takes a new mindset, new behaviors, and uncomfortable action taken little by little, every day. Why asking for help matters so much The reality of this illness is serious — and I share these numbers not to scare you, but to light a fire of hope: Up to 10% of people with anorexia die within about 10 years of onset, and up to 20% within 20 years — but with treatment and support, that mortality rate drops to around 2–3%. Support changes everything. The death rate associated with anorexia is roughly 12 times higher than the death rate from all causes among females ages 15–24. And yet the majority of people with eating disorders never seek help. I fell into that "never seek help" group for a long time — until a fire rose up in me that said: I am not a statistic. I am not average. Watch me. Support took me from a statistic to a survivor. It can do the same for you. Why you might not be reaching out (you're not alone) Stigma and shame — fear of judgment from family, friends, or professionals "I'm not sick enough" — the functioning, willpower, "I'm fine" trap Fear of facing reality — because not facing it feels like control (but it's an illusion of control) Not knowing where to turn — or having had past negative experiences with providers Hopelessness — believing the disorder's lie that you're "too far gone" Hear me: you can feel every one of these things and still choose today to stand up for your future best self. You can start exactly where you are You can start late. You can start over. You can recover differently than anyone around you. You can be uncertain, scared, and unsure of every answer — and still succeed in finding freedom. You don't have to know all the answers. You just have to choose. I wasn't fully ready when I started. I just showed up, day after day, and let people guide me. That's all it takes to begin: not certainty — just a choice. A few lines from the episode "Functioning is not the same as free." I samtalet berättar han om sin starka kritik mot den svenska förtalslagstiftningen, som han menar riskerar att slå mot personer som berättar om övergrepp och deras förövare. Han delar också med sig av hur han själv resonerar kring risken att hamna i fängelse och varför domen snarare har fått honom att vilja växla upp.Vi får följa med bakom några av de mest uppmärksammade fallen Jonatan har engagerat sig i och möta människorna bakom rubrikerna. When Jesus tells a story, you listen. When Jesus repeats 3 stories with the same meaning, you REALLY listen. Every story he told during his time here on Earth was of important purpose, but to repeat the same lesson 3 times in 3 ways tells us Jesus desperately wants us to get this message. Today’s parable is part of that trilogy teaching. The Lost Sheep, The Lost Coin and the Lost Son. The teaching of the Lost Sheep was recorded by both Matthew and Luke, so we already looked at that teaching earlier in our series. But now as we look at the accounts of Luke, we see the remaining 2 stories taught back to back by Jesus to the same crowd of people. Who were these people in the crowd, and why would they so desperately need to understand this message? This was a mixed crowd of religious leaders, along with as Luke puts it, “tax collectors and other notorious sinners”. These were people who didn’t mix. Religious leaders of this day made very clear distinctions between who was considered acceptable and who was not—who was “clean” and who was “unclean.” And the people Jesus was attracting—the tax collectors and notorious sinners—were the very people the religious crowd believed should be kept at a distance. They didn’t mix. But as Jesus taught this trilogy of stories about the lost, the sinners came crowding in. The people who had been pushed to the edges were now pressing into the center—right there at the feet of Jesus. Why were the unclean and the sinners coming in? Because for the first time, they were being told they belonged, they mattered, and there was a path for them to be made clean. Up until then, as part of the unclean, they had been pushed to the edges. They were the people you avoided, the people you didn’t touch, the people you didn’t invite to your table. They couldn’t simply blend in with everyone else. Their reputation went ahead of them. Their past followed them. Their failures had become their identity. Imagine that for a moment. Or maybe you don’t have to imagine too hard because this is a story you continually tell yourself now. You don’t belong. You’re unworthy. No body wants you. You’ve felt like part of the “unclean”. For these people being constantly told that they’re not good enough, not acceptable, not clean, eventually they started believing it themselves. Maybe they had assumed God was only for the clean people. The religious people. And then Jesus came. And Jesus changed everything. Jesus didn’t stand on the other side of the crowd pointing at them. He moved toward them. He welcomed them. He ate with them. He touched the untouchable. He talked to the unacceptable. He gave dignity to people who had been reduced to their sin. And suddenly, these people who had been told, “You don’t belong here,” were crowding around Jesus because Jesus was telling them something completely different: You matter. You are wanted. You are worth finding. You are not too far gone. That is the setting for these three stories. And that is why Jesus tells them three times, in three different ways: God goes after what is lost. He tells the story of a shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find one lost sheep. Then a woman who turns her house upside down to find one lost coin. And finally, a father who watches the road, waiting for his lost son to come home. Three stories. One message. God is not standing far away waiting for the lost to find their way back to Him. God is actively pursuing them. And Jesus wants these religious leaders—and every outcast listening at His feet—to understand something that would have been almost scandalous to them: The lost are not an inconvenience to God. They are His pursuit. The very people everyone else had pushed away were the people Jesus was drawing near to. What was literally happening in this moment was James 4:8, “Come close to God, and God will come close to you.” The unclean were drawing in close for the first time believing maybe this man Jesus was sharing the Good News with them, and as they came in close, God came in close to them. A message worth repeating 3 times! So today, we look specifically at “The Parable of The Lost Coin”. The short little story tucked in between the other 2 more popular stories of something that had been lost. Luke 15: 8-10 “Suppose a woman has 10 sliver coins and loses one. Won’t she light a lamp and sweep the entire house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she will call in her friends and neighbors and say, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lot coin.’ In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents.'” And here in the crowd were the sinners who were told they were unclean and unworthy of anything from God. They were written off and excluded. Now, Jesus is telling them, YOU ARE LIKE A LOST COIN THAT IS WORTHY OF BEING SEARCHED FOR! What does a coin have to do to be found? Absolutely nothing! The coin doesn’t crawl its way out of the corner. The coin doesn’t shine itself up to be found. No, the owner comes looking and will not quit until it is found! Notice what the woman does when she loses the coin – She specifically lights a lamp and sweeps the entire house in a careful search. This is precisely what God does when he comes looking for one of his lost children. One who has gotten lost in the darkness, swept to the side, fallen in the cracks and been left alone. First, HE SHINES THE LIGHT. What is this light? John 1:4-5, “In HIM was life, and that life was the LIGHT of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” But, the light doesn’t stop with God. Through Jesus, we become his light bearers. Matthew 5:14, Jesus says, “YOU are the light of the world.” Girls, this means for those of us with the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, we carry the light that God uses to search for his lost coins. WE ARE PART OF THE SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM FOR LOST SOULS!!!!!! Are they unclean? Are they not to be touched? Are they to be avoided? NOT ACCORDING TO JESUS!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE TO BE SEARCHED FOR! Jesus says with this light, the woman sweeps the entire house in careful search. GOD IS WILLING TO GO ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE LOOKING FOR A LOST SOUL. He will move the furniture. He will lift the rug. He’ll turn the sofa upside down. He’s not quitting the search for what is his. Here in the crowd, lost souls are hearing Jesus say that he will not stop caring about them. And here today, those within the sound of my voice are hearing Jesus still saying the same thing – HE WILL NOT STOP CARING ABOUT YOU. No matter where you’ve been hiding – no matter what darkness you’ve been stuck in – no matter how dirty you’ve become – HE WANTS YOU BACK!!!!!!!! You are his daughter. You belong to him. Nothing changes that. Just because the coin was lost didn’t mean the woman no longer claimed it. No, she said, “MY COIN”. It was hers when she held it, hers when it was lost, and hers when she found it. “I have found MY lost coin.” You’ve always been God’s girl. That’s not changing. Let yourself be found! Do you know what will happen when he finds you? A FULL BLOWN CELEBRATION!!!!!!!!! Literally Jesus says “There is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents.” The angels are throwing a party over every soul who is pulled up out of the darkness. Over every soul who is picked up and dusted off. Over every soul who is restored to the place where they belong. THERE IS JOY WHEN THE LOST IS FOUND! Not disappointment. Not condemnation. Not, “Well, look who finally came crawling back.” JOY! Jesus is painting a picture for these sinners sitting at His feet—and for the religious leaders standing there judging them—that would have been impossible to miss. THIS is how God feels about sinners coming home. And I think sometimes we forget that. We know how to feel guilty. We know how to beat ourselves up. We know how to replay our failures and remind ourselves of every place we’ve fallen short. We know how to tell ourselves that we should have known better, done better, been better. But Jesus tells a different story. He tells us that when we are lost, God searches. When we are in the darkness, God brings the light. When we are buried under the mess of our own making, God starts moving things around to find us. And when He finds us, He celebrates. Girl, let that sink in. God isn’t looking for a reason to reject you. He’s looking for you. You may have wandered. You may have messed up. You may have made choices you wish you could undo. You may feel like you’ve fallen so far into the cracks that nobody could possibly find you. But you are not forgotten. You are not disqualified. You are not too dirty. You are not too far gone. You are still His. The coin didn’t become worthless because it was lost. Its location changed. Its condition may have gotten dirty. It may have been sitting in a dark corner where nobody could see it. But its value never changed. And neither has yours. Let Jesus find you exactly where you are. Because He already knows where you are. He’s already looking. He’s already searching. And when He finds you, He’s not going to pick you up and say, “What a mess you are.” He’s going to say, “There you are. I’ve been looking for you.” And heaven will rejoice. If you’ve believed the lie that you’re unworthy, let Jesus tell you the truth. You are His. You have always mattered. You have never been too far away for His light to reach. And you are worth finding. Because that’s the message Jesus repeated three times so we would never forget it: The lost matter to God. The lost are worth pursuing. Today we will study a parable that seemingly has nothing to do with us. It’s easy to assume Jesus just told this story so the Pharisees who were in the crowd realized how bad they were. But haven’t we learned if Jesus told a story then, it applies to us today? Haven’t we discovered so far in our study of the parables that Jesus’ stories are layers and layers deep? So, as we read this next story, as yourself this question – “Am I faithfully tending what God has entrusted to me in this life?” Remember this is all on lease and God’s going to ask for it back. Even your very life! Matthew 21: 33-45 Now listen to another story. A certain landowner planted a vineyard, built a wall around it, dug a pit for pressing out the grape juice, and built a lookout tower. Then he leased the vineyard to tenant farmers and moved to another country. At the time of the grape harvest, he sent his servants to collect his share of the crop. But the farmers grabbed his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another. So the landowner sent a larger group of his servants to collect for him, but the results were the same. Finally, the owner sent his son, thinking, ‘Surely they will respect my son.' But when the tenant farmers saw his son coming, they said to one another, ‘Here comes the heir to this estate. Come on, let's kill him and get the estate for ourselves!' So they grabbed him, dragged him out of the vineyard, and murdered him. When the owner of the vineyard returns,” Jesus asked, “what do you think he will do to those farmers? The religious leaders replied, ‘He will put the wicked men to a horrible death and lease the vineyard to others who will give him his share of the crop after each harvest.’ Then Jesus asked them, “Didn't you ever read this in the Scriptures? ‘The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone. This is the LORD's doing, and it is wonderful to see.' I tell you, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation that will produce the proper fruit. Anyone who stumbles over that stone will be broken to pieces, and it will crush anyone it falls on. When the leading priests and Pharisees heard this parable, they realized he was telling the story against them—they were the wicked farmers. Okay, let’s pull out a few things and apply them to our lives today. The vineyard belonged to the landowner. The farmers were only leasing the vineyard. Notice how much work the owner did before the farmers ever touched the vineyard. He planted it. Built the wall. Dug the winepress. Built the tower. Then he LEASED it to the farmers. They didn’t create the vineyard. They didn’t buy the vineyard. They didn’t make the vines grow. They didn’t own the harvest. They were managers of something that belonged to someone else. And THAT IS US! Your life is a vineyard God has entrusted to you. Your body, your marriage, your children, your friendships, your home, your career, your money, your gifts, your talents, your time, your opportunities … None of it is ultimately yours. It’s been ENTRUSTED to you. Think about your children – are they really yours? Did you knit them together in your womb? Did you create them yourself? Did you design them? Is it you that breathed life into them? No, they are and always have been God’s. He’s entrusted that child to you to raise, to guide, to love. All of this is on lease. God has chosen you to steward what is HIS for the short span of your lifetime. So, Sis – how’s your stewardship going? We’re so quick to ask, “What do I want to do with my life?” But girl, this life isn’t even yours! You’re stewarding this time and these opportunities given to you by God. The question is, “God, what do you want done with what you’ve given me?” Jesus says the Kingdom would be given to those who would “produce the proper fruit.” God isn’t simply looking for people who hang out in the vineyard. He’s looking for fruit. You can be in church and produce no fruit. You can know Scripture and produce no fruit. You can have great success, look incredibly good, be totally impressive and produce no fruit. What fruit are we talking about? Ahhhh yes, remember back to our Fruits of the Spirit study together. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control. If you’re stewarding the vineyard of your life well, then girl, your life should look different! People should see evidence that Jesus is growing in you! We are not people riddled with anxiety and fear. We are not impatient, irritated, grouchy souls. We are not negative, impulsive or judgmental. NO – that’s not what Jesus grows. The world grows that, but we are called to be different, empowered by the Holy Spirit to produce a radically different fruit in our leased vineyard. My friend, your life is producing something. What is it? Now, this story takes a turn. A turn that is a personal conviction on our tendency to claim “mine.” The farmers eventually say: “Let’s kill the heir and get the estate for ourselves.” They didn’t want to just work the vineyard. They wanted to own it. Dang – don’t we do this? God gives us something to steward and we get all clingy and bratty claiming “mine”. This is my time. This is my money. This is my body. They are my children. These are my plans. This is my life. Here’s the real problem with that – when we start believing it’s OURS, we have a real problem when God asks for his share. And that’s the real heart issue Jesus is exposing in this parable. Where have you taken what God has temporarily entrusted to you, claimed it as solely yours, and now you want to maintain control over it? You’re essentially telling God to stay out of your vineyard, forgetting IT’S HIS! In Jesus’ story of the Evil Farmers, we see the vineyard owner repeatedly sends servants in to visit and collect his share. The tenant farmers reject the servants. So, the owner sends more messengers. Eventually he sends in his son. We read this and immediately know how this plays out. That’s our Jesus. They kill our Jesus. God always knew that would happen. But here we see his patience. He sends messengers and reminders, giving the tenant farmers more time and more opportunities. Oh how God repeatedly comes after us. He sends us just the right sermon when we need it. Just the perfect devotional at the right time. Just the right conversation with the right friend. He interrupts us with his presence. What’s really happening is God is trying to get your attention. He loves you so much that he’s coming at you in every way to send you the message about his vineyard. Hey, this life you’re living belongs to God and he expects you to produce fruit. Again and again, he shows you mercy. What has God entrusted to you that He is now asking you to surrender back to Him? Maybe it’s your time. Maybe it’s control. Maybe it’s your money. Maybe it’s a relationship. Maybe it’s your body. Maybe it’s a gift or a dream that started with God but has slowly become about you. God doesn’t ask you to give Him what He never gave you. He’s simply asking for the fruit from the vineyard He entrusted to you. The religious leaders rejected Jesus. But Jesus says the very stone they rejected becomes the cornerstone. A cornerstone determines the alignment of the entire building. That’s a beautiful picture for us. Jesus isn’t supposed to be an addition to your life. He’s supposed to be the thing your life is built around. Not: “Where can I fit Jesus into my plans?” But: “How do I build my plans around Jesus?” Not: “How can Jesus help me achieve my dream?” But: “Jesus, what dream are You building in me?” God doesn’t give you things so you can possess them. He entrusts things so you can steward them. Everything and everyone you have and love today is on lease from God. You have it for just a little bit of time to care for, nurture, and help grow. What does the owner want you to do with those things today? When you really consider what the owner wants, it changes how you parent. How you spend. How you work. How you respond. How you show up. How you make decisions. WHAT DOES THE OWNER WANT? TEND what God has entrusted to you. PRODUCE the fruit God is looking for. RETURN to God what already belongs to Him. SURRENDER your life to the Jesus. You are not the owner of the vineyard. You are the steward of it. Everything you have is something God has entrusted to you for a season. And one day, the Owner comes looking for His harvest. How different would your life look today if you truly lived like God owns everything and you’re simply his steward? If the Owner walked into your vineyard today and asked for His harvest, what would you have to give Him? Jesus has great news for us today: We can be screwed up and late to the game, but if we will simply be available and show up, God has grace for us, work for us to do, and a great reward in store. Matthew 20: 1-15: For the Kingdom of Heaven is like the landowner who went out early one morning to hire workers for his vineyard. He agreed to pay the normal daily wage and sent them out to work. At nine o'clock in the morning he was passing through the marketplace and saw some people standing around doing nothing. So he hired them, telling them he would pay them whatever was right at the end of the day. So they went to work in the vineyard. At noon and again at three o'clock he did the same thing. At five o'clock that afternoon he was in town again and saw some more people standing around. He asked them, ‘Why haven't you been working today?' “They replied, ‘Because no one hired us.' “The landowner told them, “Then go out and join the others in my vineyard.” That evening he told the foreman to call the workers in and pay them, beginning with the last workers first. When those hired at five o'clock were paid, each received a full day's wage. When those hired first came to get their pay, they assumed they would receive more. But they, too, were paid a day's wage. When they received their pay, they protested to the owner, “Those people worked only one hour, and yet you've paid them just as much as you paid us who worked all day in the scorching heat.” He answered one of them, “Friend, I haven't been unfair! Didn't you agree to work all day for the usual wage? Take your money and go. I wanted to pay this last worker the same as you. Is it against the law for me to do what I want with my money? Should you be jealous because I am kind to others?” God is looking for absolutely anyone who is available. It doesn’t matter if you think you’re unqualified. It doesn’t matter if you feel you’re too late. It doesn’t matter if you’ve wasted years chasing the wrong thing and racking up a long record of losing. GOD WANTS YOU DOING HIS WORK IN HIS VINEYARD. The world all around you is his vineyard. Everywhere he has work to be done. All he has ever asked of you is to be available to him. If you are available, then you’re in! 1. You are never too late to get in the vineyard. Some were there at dawn. Others at 9. Others at noon. Others at 3. And some didn’t get invited to come and work until late in the day at 5 pm. There was barely any time in the day even left, but the landowner still said, “Come work in my vineyard.” And here’s what that means to you – Your past doesn’t disqualify your future. You may look at your life with regret and think you should have started sooner, you wasted so many years, you made too many bad decisions, and you don’t have enough time left. But let me tell you something – God isn’t intimidated by how much time you’ve wasted. He’s not asking “Girl, why weren’t you here at 8 am. He’s asking, “ARE YOU AVAILABLE NOW?!!!!!!” Look around and you’ll see others who are so far ahead of you – and that’s okay. There are some who have written 5 books already, turned there hardship around for good, and walking in a full harvest. Good for them. That doesn’t take an ounce of God’s light from you. You have light and there’s time for you to get to work! It’s never too late to become useful in the hands of God. Are you ready to get started now? 2. God doesn’t need you qualified. He needs you available. Notice what the landowner asked the people at 5 PM: “Why haven’t you been working today?” And their answer was basically, “Nobody hired us.” They weren’t saying, “We don’t want to work.” They were saying, “Nobody gave us a place.” And the landowner immediately gave them one. Sometimes we’re waiting for for the perfect opportunity, or more experience, or more knowledge, or more confidence – all while there is work to do right where we are. Sis, you don’t have to be impressive to be useful. You don’t have to have a platform to have influence. You don’t have to know everything to help somebody. You just have to say: “God, I’m available.” And then look around. Who needs encouragement? Who needs prayer? Who needs someone to listen? Who needs Jesus? Who needs what God has already put inside of you? There’s your work! 3. The vineyard is wherever God has placed you. Humans are funny in our pursuit of the perfect place. We think we have to have some sort of big spiritual assignment to be effective for God. All while we miss that the vineyard is your LIFE. It’s all around you. The work is here. Your home is a vineyard. Your marriage is a vineyard. Your friendships are a vineyard. Your workplace is a vineyard. Your neighborhood is a vineyard. Your children’s lives are a vineyard. The woman sitting next to you at the coffee shop may be a vineyard. You don’t have to go somewhere extraordinary to do God’s work. God’s work is happening in ordinary places through ordinary people who are willing to participate. Isn’t it wild to think the Creator of the universe is literally inviting you to come be part of his work with him? That Jesus, the savior of the world, has chosen YOU to be his partner. 1 Corinthians 1:9, “God has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” And then what’s really wild is to think that exactly where you are – where you live, where you work, where you drive every day – none of that is an accident. God has placed you exactly where you are in his vineyard, right where he wanted you, because there’s work there for you. How often we miss the vineyard so desperate for workers all around us, thinking we have to go somewhere else to partner with God in his mission. Girl, your home is a mission! Have you missed that? 4. Don’t waste today mourning yesterday. The workers hired at 5 PM couldn’t go back and reclaim the morning. They couldn’t say, “Give me the hours I missed.” They had one choice: Use the hour they had left. That’s us. You can’t go back and parent differently. You can’t go back and make the better decision. You can’t go back and say yes to the opportunity you missed. You can’t go back and recover the years you spent chasing the wrong things. But you can do something with today. You can’t change the hours you’ve lost, but you can surrender the hours you have left. If the landowner was willing to hire workers at 5 pm for the tiny amount of time left in that work day, then Jesus is telling us the little time we have left is of value too. You and I have time left. We don’t know how much time, but we have some. God is not hung up on where you’ve been until now – He’s asking if you’re available now. Yes – GREAT! 5. Don’t let comparison steal your gratitude. This is where the parable takes a sharp turn. The people who worked all day weren’t upset because they were cheated. They were upset because someone else was blessed. They received the payment they were promised, but when they saw those who worked far less than them receive the same pay, they were now unhappy. The landowner says: “Should you be jealous because I am kind to others?” Ouch. How often do we secretly resent God’s generosity toward someone else? “Why did she get that? – Why did God answer her prayer? – Why does her marriage look so good? – Why did she get that opportunity?” And Jesus essentially says: Why are you making somebody else’s blessing an insult to you? God’s goodness to her does not mean God’s goodness to you has run out. Someone else’s blessing is not evidence of your lack. 6. Don’t turn your obedience into a contract with God. The first workers had an agreement: A day’s wage for a day’s work. And they got exactly what they agreed to. But somewhere along the way, they began calculating. Here’s what that looks like in our heads: I worked more, I sacrificed more, I’ve been faithful longer, therefore I deserve more. God owes me. That’s dangerous spiritually! Does God really owe you? God is not our employer. We’re not earning God’s love through our performance. We’re not accumulating points with God. We’re not competing for a bigger piece of heaven. We are His. And everything he gives us is ultimately grace. I hope God doesn’t give me what I deserve because I don’t deserve heaven. I don’t deserve forgiveness. I don’t deserve his blessings. I certainly don’t deserve Jesus. I can only hope to receive his grace. Sometimes we want God to operate according to fairness. But if God gave us exactly what was fair, we’d all be in trouble. We want justice when someone else has wronged us. But we want grace when we’re the ones who have messed up. The message of Jesus isn’t that God gives everyone what they deserve. The message of Jesus is that God gives us what we could never deserve. That’s why the 5 PM worker is such good news. I’m the 5 PM worker over here getting what I don’t deserve simply because God is so good and generous. 7. Your reward isn’t based on how impressive your story looks. One woman may have followed Jesus since childhood. Another may meet Him at 70. One may have a dramatic testimony. Another may have a quiet one. One may preach to thousands. Another may faithfully love the five people God put around her. God doesn’t measure significance the way we do. The woman who spends decades faithfully serving God isn’t more loved than the woman who finally surrenders at the end of her life. And the woman who arrives late isn’t less valuable because she arrived late. The value isn’t in when you entered the vineyard. The value is in whose vineyard you’re working in. The workers who came at 5 PM didn’t know how much they would receive. They simply said yes to the invitation they had. That’s faith. God doesn’t always tell you what the assignment will produce. He just says, “Come work with Me.” And maybe that’s the invitation for us today: Stop calculating whether you’re late. Stop comparing your vineyard to somebody else’s. Stop worrying about whether you’re qualified. Stop mourning the hours you wasted. Stop asking whether there’s enough time left. The question isn’t, “How much time do I have?” The question is, “What will I do with the time I have?” Because if you’re still breathing, the Landowner is still calling. And if He’s still calling… there’s still work for you to do. Sis, I want to talk to the YOU today - the woman listening who is exhausted. Exhausted from restricting. Exhausted from punishing yourself with endless workouts and never taking a day off. Exhausted from trying to shrink yourself while showing up as the leader in every other area of your life. You have it all together on the outside — you lead teams, manage budgets, raise humans, keep the whole household running. But when it comes to your body, you still feel like that confused little girl who learned her worth was tied to her size. That's the battle no one sees. And today, we're bringing it into the light. By the end of our time together, you'll understand how your body story got written — and you'll have a framework to start rewriting it, from shame to self-compassion. You didn't start out hating your body Here's the truth I need you to hear: you learned to. You didn't come into this world at war with yourself. Somewhere along the way — maybe at seven, watching your mom criticize her thighs in the mirror; maybe at ten, when someone commented on your changing body; maybe at thirteen, when the magazines promised happiness if you just looked a little different — you were taught that your body was a problem to be solved. You learned it from a culture that profits from your insecurity. From diet companies making billions convincing you your body is wrong. From a fitness industry that sold you the lie that more exercise equals more worth. Nothing was ever actually broken, sis. You were taught a story. And what was taught can be rewritten. The messages that built your prison These are the "body story" messages so many high-achieving women carry — see which ones you recognize: "Good girls don't take up too much space." You learned to make yourself smaller, literally and figuratively. "Your body is your responsibility to control." Enough willpower, enough discipline — and your body became a project instead of your home. "Thin equals healthy, healthy equals worthy, big equals bad." You learned the scale measures your value as a person. "Successful women have it all together — including their bodies." So controlling your body became one more item on the success checklist. "Your body exists to look good for other people." You learned to see yourself through everyone's eyes but your own. These messages worked. They kept you small, compliant, and constantly striving. And that same control that felt like freedom was actually building your prison — brick by brick, year by year. What this story has cost you Your energy — all the mental space spent calculating, planning, and worrying, that could have gone to your dreams and relationships. Your presence — the family moments missed, the social events avoided, the opportunities declined while you waited to "feel better" in your body. Your authentic self — the woman you are when you're not worried about food or exercise. She's creative, brave, vibrant, and magnetic — and she's been buried under years of body shame and food rules. Your physical health — the chronic restriction and over-exercising you think is keeping you "healthy" is actually putting real stress on your body. You have the power to rewrite it You're not that young girl anymore. You're a powerful, strong woman with wisdom and experience — and now you have a choice to choose differently. It starts with one decision, one meal, one moment of self-compassion over self-criticism. Your body story doesn't have to end with restriction and exhaustion. The best chapters are yet to come. Your body story rewrite — try this week In the morning, before you critique anything in the mirror, thank your body for one thing it did for you yesterday — walked you through a long day, hugged your kids, kept your heart beating while you slept. Before you eat, ask: "What would really feel good and nourishing right now?" Trust that your body has wisdom you've been drowning out with food rules. Choose movement based on what feels good — a walk, yoga, stretching — not on calories to burn. When you catch the harsh self-talk, speak kindness instead. Kindness builds body trust. And journal on this: Who influenced my body story? When do I first remember believing these things? How can I rewrite it so I can stand in my truth and crush the next chapter? I spent a full year there with my mum and my kids, and that memory is one I'll always cherish. But loving a place doesn't mean staying quiet about the parts of it that aren't lovely at all.In this episode, I sit down with a guest I'm calling Sis. Her real name stays anonymous, because she's not alone in this, and a lot of people going through the same process right now are still afraid that speaking up could cost them their own application. Sis recently applied for a visa to visit Korea, where she now has family. She'd already been through other embassies before this one, so by every reasonable expectation, she assumed the Korean embassy in Lagos would be just as straightforward.It was not.Nine or ten visits. To an embassy that, on any given day, sees a handful of people, nothing close to the queues at the UK, US, Canadian, or Australian embassies. A checklist that changed depending on who was behind the desk, and sometimes even when it was the same person behind the desk. Staff who denied ever giving her instructions they'd given her days before. A two-hour drop-off window that assumes nobody applying has a job to get to. And in the end, her passport didn't land in her hands until the day of her flight, even though she'd booked that flight two months out specifically to give the process room to breathe.I bring my own family into this one too. My mother went through her own version of this: flown back to Nigeria for a TB test the embassy insisted on, even after we offered to have it done and verified locally. Seven trips to the embassy. Her visa finally came through the day before she flew out. Comparing notes with Sis made one thing painfully clear to both of us: this isn't a bad day at one counter. It's a pattern.This episode isn't really about Korea, the country I love. It's about a process that doesn't match the country everyone's currently falling for from a distance, and about the gap between the people running that system and what's actually happening to applicants on the ground. We talk about what we'd each fix if we could, and what we wish someone had told us before we started.This was a hard one for me to sit with, and an even harder one to put out. But if it reaches even one person going through this right now, or one person who can actually do something about it, it's worth it.
