Today, Prodigy's flagship math game is used by more than 20 million 1st-8th Grade students and is one of the most popular supplemental classroom tools in the United States.

We met in a conference room at an office in Barrington, IL. A place where sometime later a couple guys thought they'd screw me in a business deal. I came out ahead in the end, but the place has mixed memories.   This meeting involved thinking about the future of asset data and systems interoperability. We had a system diagram. The idea was to solve a huge problem for owner/operators of process manufacturing enterprises—flowing engineering data into other software systems for operations, maintenance, and enterprise. The incumbent system was a morass of paper (or pdf documents which was much the same thing).   We did trademark searches and domain name searches and eventually settled on the Open Industrial Interoperability Ecosystem—OIIE.   I plot this history for context for the conference I attended recently—the 2nd ADIF Workshop at Texas A&M University dubbed Driving Asset Data and Systems Interoperability Toward an Open and Neutral Data Ecosystem.   This workshop brought together owner/operators, EPCs, System Integrators, university researchers, standards organizations, and software vendors. Each group conducted a panel discussion of its needs and successes. I was there for a short presentation and to moderate the standards panel.   Professor David Jeong from Texas A&M and the session leader previewed the discussions. One of his colleagues later presented research his team has performed to provide a method for taking P&ID documentation into a standard format usable by other software systems.   The message that came to me from the panel of owner/operators (grossly summarized, as will be all the discussions) included two key words—collaborate and operationalize. They are impatient about solving this data interoperability problem. One panelist quipped, "We know the project is finished when the large van backs into the loading dock and disgorges mountains of paper."   What blows my mind is that I was moved to a position called Data Manager in 1977 to tackle the (much smaller) mountain of paper our product engineering department provided to operations, accounting, and inventory management. I led a digitalization effort in 1978 to tackle the problem. The problem not only remains, but it is immensely more complicated and critical.   The EPCs basically said that their hands were tied by the owner/operators mandating which design and engineering software to use and the inflexibility of the vendors of said design and engineering software. When owner/operators had requested digital documentation, they had responded with pdfs. Hardly interoperable data.   Our standards panel included the leader of DEXPI, whose organization has developed a method of changing P&ID data into an xlsx (Excel) format. That, of course, is a good start.   An organization called CFIHOS (see-foss) presented their take on standards. I'm afraid I got a bit lost in the slides (note: more research needed). What I gathered was that they were attempting one overriding standard—and that that work was years away. Interesting that I listened to Benedict Evans' podcast this morning. He is a long-time tech industry analyst. He remarked in another context, "It seems that where there are 10 standards and someone comes along with a standard to encompass them all, you wind up with 11 standards."   The ISA-95 was presented. This messaging (and more) standard is incorporated with the OIIE, which was presented next. Dr. Markus Stumptner of the University of South Australia presented his research work on proof of concept of the OIIE.   If we can get enough momentum focusing on this area and find some SIs willing to take the OIIE to an owner/operator, perhaps we can finally prove the business case of asset data and systems interoperability.

3.mars 1944 ligger de to nordnorske SIS-agenter, Tore Snefjellå og Alfred Henningsen på havets bunn utenfor Rødøy,og ser livet gå i revy mens sinkeminene eksploderer rundt ubåten HMS Sea Nymph. Bare minutter før hadde det vært ubåtens tur til å angripe MS Levante. Den var forsøkte bombet, torpedert og sprengt av nordmenn, briter, russere og til og med egne styrker skaut på det 133m lange linjeskipet. Men legenden seiler nok en gang videre. Hva var det med dette skipet som gjorde at det overlevde så mange angrep, ulykker og stormer?Levante ble brukt som transportfartøy av tyske styrker gjennom sommeren 1940.Kildene nevner uenigheter mellom forskjellige våpengrener om disponeringen av skipet.I juli 1940 fraktet skipet hærsoldater og utstyr til Narvik, som nå var gjenerobret, og tok med seg marinestyrker fra de ødelagte tyske jagere sørover.Men legendeskipets tid var på langt nær forbi. Det fortsatte sin seilas mellom Trondheim, Bodø og Kirkenes og ble elementær i forberedelsene til både operasjon Sjøløve og Barbarossa. I perioden operasjon Sjøløve var aktuell var Levante mindre i Norge - den skulle delta i angrepet på England. Men da fokuset ble skiftet østover gikk levante i trafikk mellom Trondheim og Kirkenes. Episoden tar opp noen av episodene, og du får høre et intervju, med tillatelse fra NRK, med Alfred Henningsen som var ombord i HMS Sea Nymph som forsøkte å senke henne.12.september 1944 går britiske fly til angrep på Levante og de fire støtteskipene. Denne gangen ender det fatalt for støtteskipene. 2 blir senket og et blir rent på grunn. Levante selv blir skutt i brann. Nå starter den aller mest dramatiske høsten i nordnorsk historie. How do you manage life's disappointments? Hopefully better than I did. In one of my darkest seasons, I resorted to blaming God for my mistakes. I wandered off course and like the prodigal child, I squandered what was my inheritance. Then one day I heard a voice inside me said, "Go home." It was a command to go home to Abba Daddy. I knew that life wasn't supposed to be this way. I felt completely hopeless. Angry. Disappointed. I truly believed God had abandoned my prayers.This was a tough pill to swallow, because I used to be Miss positivity, and I had a crystal-clear vision for my future—and pie-in-the-sky dreams and bold faith to believe that they would all come true. But fast forward nearly a decade later… and nothing looked the way I thought it would.The fire fizzled. The hope faded. The faith? Well, I felt like I was just going through the motions.I would complete my daily "spiritual checklist." And without clarity and faith to believe, I wandered off course. I tried so many different things—side hustle and  business ideas—thinking, “This is it! This will be the one!”But deep down… nothing fit.It felt like David trying to wear Saul's armor to fight Goliath—uncomfortable, heavy, and completely wrong for the battle I was meant to fight.I tried network marketing—2 different companies. Affiliate marketing—2 different companies. I was approved as an Amazon influencer. I invested in and shared digital marketing. And then, as I mentioned small odds & ends jobs and even drove DoorDash. Ms. Shine with Frannie was now delivering tacos instead of testimonies.To say I was humbled is an understatement. I couldn't help but think, “Lord, where are you?! How did I end up here? October 2025 Today GCHQ is an independent British intelligence organisation. However during World War 2, GC&CS, as it was then called, continued to be subordinate to the British Secret Intelligence Service, known as SIS or MI6. The Chief of SIS was also the Director of GC&CS. In this episode, we explore the relationship between the two organisations, the part that SIS played in supporting GC&CS, and the ongoing presence of SIS at Bletchley Park itself.
