As we are going to read, this angel Gabriel is sent once again from God to bring a message to a young woman who was a virgin in a city named Nazareth of Galilee. We are in Luke chapter 1:26. Just like Zachariah, Mary too was troubled by the presence of the angel. But Gabriel quieted her fear with comforting words of grace. He would tell her about the son she would bear. He gave her his Name, His Position, His Power, and the means of His birth. As we learn, the Name Jesus means Jehovah saves. His name derives from the Hebrew word Jehosua, or Joshua which means the same thing, the great I AM, YaWeH saves.Let's join Dr. Mitchell in Luke 1:26 on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast as he shares the good news of Jesus Christ.

And the virgin’s name was Mary. [28] And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!” [29] But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. [30] And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. [31] And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. [32] He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, [33] and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” (ESV) ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ FINANCIALLY SUPPORT THE MORNING MINDSET: (not tax-deductible) -- Become a monthly partner: https://mm-gfk-partners.supercast.com/ -- Support a daily episode: https://MorningMindsetMedia.com/daily-sponsor/ -- Give one-time: https://give.cornerstone.cc/careygreen -- Venmo: https://venmo.com/CareyNGreen ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ NON-ENGLISH VERSIONS OF THIS PODCAST: SPANISH version: https://MorningMindsetMedia.com/Spanish CHINESE version: https://MorningMindsetMedia.com/Chinese ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ CONTACT: Carey@careygreen.com ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ THEME MUSIC: “King’s Trailer” – Creative Commons 0 | Provided by https://freepd.com/
Our reluctant hero Joseph, regarding the baby, is told told to CALL HIS NAME JESUS. He does. But does Joseph CALL UPON the name of Jesus in faith? Does Joseph trust, rely and put confidence in the Person and work of Jesus? This is a question for all of us. As we unpack the character, superiority, and power of His name, we see that Jesus is the great "I AM" — our bread of life, our light, our shepherd, and our resurrection. This message encourages us to live with bold faith, knowing we have been entrusted with the authority of His name and can declare it over every circumstance. No matter what you're facing, the name of Jesus still has power to transform identity, break chains, and bring breakthrough. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:20-21 Give Him the Name Jesus Joseph’s world had been turned upside down. The woman he loved was expecting a child, and Joseph knew he wasn’t the father. In his hurt and confusion, he planned to end the engagement quietly. But before he could act, God intervened. Through an angel, the Lord gave Joseph the comfort he needed: “Do not be afraid.” Mary’s child was no scandal. He was the Savior, conceived by the Holy Spirit. This was not Joseph’s plan, but it was God’s, and it was perfect. The angel even told Joseph the baby’s name: Jesus. That name means “The Lord saves.” His purpose was clear. He will save his people from their sins. Not from Roman rulers. Not from poverty or sickness. But from the deeper problem that haunts every heart—sin. What a message of hope! We too face fear and confusion when life does not go as planned. We wrestle with guilt over choices we made, with uncertainty about the future, with the pain of brokenness in our world. Yet in our turmoil, God still speaks: “Do not be afraid.” Why not? Because Jesus has come. He has come to save us from our sins. He has lived the perfect life we could not, carried our guilt to the cross, and risen victorious from the grave. His name is still our comfort today: Jesus. The Lord saves. Like Joseph, we may not always understand God’s plan. But we can trust his promise. In Christ, we are forgiven. In Christ, we are safe. And in Christ, we have every reason to live without fear. Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for coming to save me from my sins. When fear and doubt rise in my heart, remind me of your name and your promise: The Lord saves. Amen. Prayer Call The Name Jesus 1 No Other Name 09_23_25.mp3 by Sherman L. Young, Sr.
Some in the Sacred Name Community use Exodus 23:13 as a launching pad for claiming the name Jesus has pagan origins. This lesson seeks to simplify the matter by looking at from where the name Jesus stems with the process of transliteration.

The Apostles' Witness: Our Questions, Christ's Answer This Homily reflects on the deep significance of the apostles' witness . . . . . . not merely as conveyors of Jesus' teachings, but as those who voiced the questions all hearts ask, receiving direct answers from Christ for the benefit of all future believers. It centers around a Gospel reading from the Last Supper where Jesus emphasizes his oneness with the Father, asserting that to know him is to truly know God. Praying “in Jesus' Name” Jesus prepares his apostles for their mission after his resurrection, entrusting them to act and speak in his name. The homily clarifies that praying “in Jesus' name” is not a formula for guaranteed results but a call to be united in faith, to pray in his spirit, and to live in alignment with his will. Only then does prayer truly become effective. The homily also encourages the faithful to embrace the apostolic mission: to be Christ's presence in the world through unity, witness, and authentic prayer.
