Seb Lauzier looks back on events in Turin as Alexander Zverev and Herbert and Mahut take Nitto ATP Finals glory. Along the way were hear from match commentators Miles Maclagan, Chris Bowers and Candy Reid, ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi talks about the events first year in the Italian city, Italian player Paolo Lorenzi looks back on his career, we hear from promising youngster, Samir Banerjee and as the ATP Live channel comes to an end of it's broadcast, we look back on some of the lighter moments over the past five years.
The first episode of our new feature, ATP Snapshot, kicks off with one for the Liverpool fans as the lads speak with John Aldridge and Neil Fitzmaurice. The recording took place ahead of an ATP Live event at the Church pub, in the shadow of Anfield, where John was the headline guest and Neil Fitzmaurice was compare for the evening! John talks about what it meant to him, as a scouser, to play for his boyhood club, how proud he is to still get to speak with fans and what he thinks off the current side and where it ranks amongst the great teams of the past. Afterwards we catch up with Neil who gives us his thoughts on John and the great team he played in, as well as giving us an update on his latest TV projects!
Episode 3 of the 2019/20 season, starts off with Everton’s first victory of the season where a win, coupled with another clean sheet, is met with both optimism in the shape of Bernard’s goal and caution, as the blues reflect on the poor start to the season from Richarlison and Sigurdsson. The reds briefly touch on the Super Cup success and why it's more than just a token exhibition game in Europe, before discussing the 2-1 victory at Southampton, covering both the good such as Mane and Firmino's impacts on the game and the bad, the howler from Adrian! News of an upcoming ATP Live night for the reds to get excited about is revealed, as well as a competition for blue listeners to get involved in and there are updates on the progress in the new ATP Fantasy Football league and our podcast results predictions feature. The lads wrap up the episode with previews of this weekends respective games; an away trip to Villa park for Everton in the Friday night game, ahead of Liverpool hosting Arsenal at Anfield in the late kick off on Saturday night!
With holidays seeing some of the panel absent, one of the blues Millsy, is joined in the studio by reds, Terry and Phil for this week’s podcast.
